The Interview[]
1.) Where did you come up with the idea of Xophtré the Psychopath?
- A) I honestly don't remember, as I came up with him years ago. Though as he was originally (and still kinda is) a self-insert, the idea was probably just to, well, insert myself into my own stories.
2.) Where does his name come from and does it have any meaning?
- A) His name is just my name rearranged with an "x" added, and it doesn't have any special meaning.
3.) Could you provide us with a short insight about his past?
- A) He was pretty normal at one point, but some event caused him to loose his soul, which led to a downward spiral of insanity. At some point he became corrupt, turning his body to sludge and getting the attention of his home dimension's error handler (which are basically gods). After a confrontation, he earned his dimension-jumping powers and has been going between worlds ever since.
4.) As a psychopath, why does he dress casually and not wear something more sophisticated like Kefka’s robe?
- A) Huh, I never thought about that. I guess he just prefers to look the way he sees himself, which is a damnation of who he once was, and his attire is part of that.
5.) Does he take any medications for his schizophrenia?
- A) The schizophrenia is just a suggested explanation for his adventures, and is really just there to spark theory
6.) Who is Sakura the Error Handler?
- A) His soul that was taken from him. That's really it.
7.) What else is there in Dimension 06231991?
- A) Well, there's the physical world my fanfics take place in, a backup for that world, and a dataspace which contains the dimension's code.
8.) What is the connection with his theme song?
- A) It's an original composition that I wrote myself, so it's just what I thought fit with him.
9.) If he were to face against Sonic, would Sonic be able to defeat him in battle?
- A) Most likely not, as even though Xoph's arrogance severely holds back his potential, he's still quite poweful and extremely difficult to defeat. Sonic might be able to temporarily stun him or something, but he'd never be able to truly defeat him.
