W☆taru

A renowned idol famous for their happy and comical personality amongst others that takes the stage name of W☆taru. Displeased with their own music and singing ability, Wataru is looking to end their career as an idol altogether and retire early. In actuality, Wataru is an created to replace a deceased idol instead of explaining the mysterious circumstances of their death. 

Appearance

Wataru is a cat-android, but he takes no pride in his presentation of himself. His long blue hair usually remains untouched throughout the day, unless he has a performance, and thus usually stays the way he wakes up with it as, and he sometimes he puts his hair into a long ponytail. He wears black shirts usually, and when he isn't with anyone, usually wears other idol groups and bands shirts. When in public, he wears hats usually to cover his cat ears, since he has embarassment for them, and wears ripped jeans with space-themed shoes. 

Personality

Although followed by many fans, Wataru carries a somewhat depressing personality around him when not on stage. He usually doesn't talk about whats troubling him, and only pestering can actually get him to speak whats on his mind. Tendencies to evade honesty often come up as well, since his problems often weigh heavy on his mind. The biggest weight he harbors on his shoulders come from his true identity as an android, however, as he strives to resign from the guilt and pain of singing for others after the "true" W☆taru died in a horrific incident. While he has problems telling the truth about his issues and constantly lies about them, he can be honest about normal things even to the point of bluntness. Due to his inability to control such impulses, keeping to himself has become second nature. 

History

When the stage character Wataru was invented, he became an instant popular icon, adored and loved by many. However, due to secrets harbored very close by the real Wataru, whose real name was Ingo, he became very suicidal and was hospitalized. After recovering from the trauma that pushed him to attempt suicide in the first place, Ingo went back to being an idol that personified the happiness he'd wished he felt. Then, one night, he attempted suicide once more, this time successful. In the sadness that ensued, the news was never released, and instead a replacement was sought out. Desperate to finally test what many had been talking about in secret for some time, they attempted to make the first android idol ever, and the result was the android Wataru.

At first creation, Wataru had always known he was a robot: it was even directly told to him outright, as his creators assumed he had no feelings. He was even given Ingo's memories, although he had no real empathy with Ingo. This started to quickly weigh Wataru down, and he slowly grew a deep-rooted hatred for singing, since his voice never sounded as beautiful or matched the old songs the same way Ingo's had. In many ways because of this, many people in on the secret considered Wataru a "failure" and wrote him off as such, despite Ingo's fans still listening to any new song Wataru released. 

When he first attempted to leave the company, he was instead forced to stay by being kept as a hostage and forced into submission. He began to seal off his talkative and open personality and instead chose to start remaining quiet, and become disconnected with society as a whole.
