Vultro the Fox is a fennec fox that debuted in the roleplay Planet Eilaela.
Physical Appearance
Vultro resembles a fennec fox, though he is technically a silver fox/fennec mix. His large ears are a trademark of the species. His body fur is a light brown color, and the fur on his chest and head is white. He wears gloves and a red/blue pair of sneakers.
Vultro is very skinny and tall. However, he uses this build to his advantage: he can both run at incredible speeds and can access areas not normally reachable by other animals.
Personality
Vultro is an adventurous fox, never shying from the opportunity to explore a new planet or conquer a new villain. However, he is also very impulsive. He usually does not think of the consequences of his actions, which earns him a reputation of always causing trouble. He also often asserts himself as the leader of the group, despite that not always being true.
Despite this, he is very caring towards his friends and family, particularly his sisters RavenCool the Sol Grey Wolf and Jenny the Fox. He is willing to do anything to protect them, even if his short sighted decisions end up getting him into further trouble.
History
Vultro does not remember much of his childhood. He was born on South Island, to Obelus and Lily the Fox. As far as he knew, both of his parents had passed away when he was four. (In reality, his father's alter ego had killed his mother and went into hiding.) He was raised by his aunt in West Side Island for the next four years. Missing the rolling hills of South Island, he ran away to live on his own when he was eight.
During his childhood, he would often visit Green Hill Zone, looking up to Sonic the Hedgehog as a role model. At the age of eight, having just ran away to live on his own, Vultro witnessed an uprising of a new Badnik army on South Island. His new friend RavenCool managed to help him escape into the Sol dimension until it was safe.
At the age of 13, Vultro helped his friend Wreck the Fox to foil a plot to create a (small-scale) robot uprising, something that could be considered his first real adventure. The story documenting the adventure has since been lost, leaving some details uncertain.
Vultro comes from a long line of explorers and adventurers dating back generations, and says that part of the reason he explores is to honor the legacy of his family and make them proud.
After his first "real" adventure with Wreck and itching for more, Vultro convinced eight of his friends to ride in a new spaceship that he built himself, intended to visit the peaceful planet Ethos. Though most were reluctant to ride in his makeshift spacecraft, they came along anyway. The events that followed has been documented in a roleplay. After returning home safely, Vultro continued to go on more adventures, encountering and battling his father multiple times along the way.
A final battle with his father causes him to resort to bringing a younger version of himself to the future. However, the older Vultro is unexpectedly defeated, leaving his younger self stranded in the future. This altered timeline begins a chain of events that destroys the future of the family.
Eventually, Raven's great granddaughter, one of the last living descendants of Vultro in the altered timeline, traces the events back to the battle. She manages to change history and create a branched timeline in which Vultro lives and his younger self is safely returned to his proper time.
With the timeline restored and the future changed, Vultro would go on to meet and later marry Lilah the Leopard, having two children: Lily Raven the Fox, and Eltra the Fox.
Relationships
- Raven the Grey Wolf: Both being adventurers, Vultro gets along with her well. They met in Green Hill Zone when he was eight, and have since been close friends. She is the first one Vultro asks to go on the adventure to Ethos. They later discover that they are half-siblings, sharing a father.
- Wreck the Fox: Due to his chaotic nature, Wreck's personality sometimes clashes with Vultro's. However, they maintain a friendly relationship. Vultro met Wreck sometime prior to the events of The Secret of Robots. Later, both he and his girlfriend Frankie the Bat agree to travel with Vultro to Ethos.
- Jenny the Fox: After meeting Vultro via a trip to the Sol dimension with Raven, the two remained in touch. On Eilaela, they learn that they are half brother and sister, causing them to become even closer and treat each other as family.
- Mackenzie the Tiger: Vultro met Mac on Eilaela while Mac was tracking down some interesting energy signatures on the planet. Though he didn't mesh with the group immediately, Vultro's other new friend Shimmer smoothed things out and Mac ended up helping in the final battle against Solidus. Since then, the two have stayed in touch.
- Lilah the Leopard: Lilah caught Vultro's eye from the moment he met her. She was adventurous, outspoken, and incredibly kind. After more than a few adventures together, he was in love. The two began dating and would eventually marry. He loves her very deeply and sees her as the perfect friend, exploration partner, and other half.
Abilities
Since a young age, Vultro has been honing his running skills. He is the fastest out of all his friends, and his build allows him to jump high, climb walls, and fit into tight spaces. He is not a big fan of combat, but when forced to fight his speed is usually his biggest strength.
Using the power of the Shoten crystal, a mysterious stone found on the planet Elilaela, Vultro can assume a more powerful form. Comparable to a Super form, Vultro gains a massive boost in speed, jump height, and strength. Unlike a Super form however, the user is still vulnerable to physical attacks. His fur glows a bright shade of purple, and his chest fur turns a platinum color. Additionally, he becomes fast enough to create a vacuum around an enclosed space, effectively suffocating anyone inside. He can also float above the ground.
It was thought for decades that only male foxes in Vultro's family were capable of taking on this form, until is was discovered that Vultro's sister Raven, a gray wolf, could also. Later, both his children (which are half leopard) also managed to take this form. He and others who take on this form call it the Shoten Form.
Weaknesses
Since he is not keen to fight unless absolutely necessary, he is frequently outsmarted in battle. This is especially true if his enemy is as fast as he is, as he relies heavily on being faster than his foes. He is also incapable of swimming, sinking to the bottom of any body of water.
