Vengeance the Darkling is a character in MewtwoLucario's The Legend of Ashura series. He is the last surviving member of the Black Arms (excluding Shadow) who is a G.U.N. agent and the leader and Power-type of Team Vengeance.
Appearance
Vengeance looks like Eclipse the Darkling, in terms of build. However, instead of grey, Vengeance is light-ish black; his stripes are a different color of dark red. His eyes are similar to Eclipse the Hedgedragon's, but are an even darker shade of red. Vengeance's muzzle is dark grey.
Powers and Abilities
Like Eclipse the Darkling, Vengeance is able to use the powers of the Dark Arms, but doesn't have to come into contact with one of them. Even without a Chaos Emerald, he can use several Chaos Powers (he uses Chaos Spear, Blast, and Strike the most), as well as being extremely strong. Vengeance can detect the energy of the multiple Emeralds in the series (Master, Chaos, etc.), in a similar manner to Knuckles the Echidna.
History
Concept and Creation
After the Sky Raiders had been scrapped from The Legend of Ashura, MewtwoLucario still wanted to bring some more characters into the series. She selected Eclipse the Darkling, Mighty the Armadillo, and Chaos as the characters that she would recolor into the new characters. Eclipse's recolor, which she had named Vengeance, was chosen as the leader.
Early Life
Not much is known about Vengeance's past. However, it is known that he, unlike the other Black Arms, didn't want to invade the planet and enslave everything on it. During the Black Arms' invasion, he assisted G.U.N. in taking down the evil alien race; this is why he wasn't wiped out with the rest of the Black Arms. Sometime afterwards, he volunteered to help out in the creation of Project 1879285, A.K.A. Clone Sonic.
