Hello, this is your resident butt-monkey admin, Kagimizu, who has quite a few things to say about his recent drop in popularity and the crap he's been getting from a lot of the Users. And you know something? I am f***ing sick of it.
I have been a User on this wiki longer than a vast majority of the currently active Users on here, and have been present through a lot of big things that have happened on SFW, if not directly involved. To remind older Users or to share with the newer Users, here's a (incomplete) list of what I've done on and for the wiki.
- I've preached for democracy and general User involvement since my first day on Sonic Fanon Wiki.
- Back when the wiki was run by a small group of admins making decisions on a Xat chat room, I, despite not being an admin, pushed for treating Users with respect and letting them have a say in what happened.
- I pushed for actual admin/crat nominations, when the crats mainly just wanted to promote the Users they chose.
- When the wiki was almost totally abandoned due to the removal of crossover articles, I was one of the first people (if not the only person) who convinced people that SFW was worth going back to. Anytime Users left the wiki (particularly my friends), I would repeat such a process.
- I helped Flash come up with the standards and requirements that got crossover articles back on Sonic Fanon Wiki.
- I've taken up multiple responsibilities in the past, often biting off more than I could chew for the sake of the wiki and pushing myself to mental breakdowns from stress.
- I've always gotten myself involved in fights to make sure people were treated with respect and resolutions were reached, even though the results of such actions have sometimes been in the negative.
Oh? And the best part about all of the stuff I've said up until now? I did that before I even became an admin. As for afterwards:
- I restored a vast majority of the crossover attack/technique articles that had been deleted.
- I took on a vast amount of responsibilities as an admin, being one of if not the most active, adding to the aforementioned stress for the sake of SFW.
- I wrote the "SFW Improvement" blog, wherein I and others would put forward suggestions to help improve the wiki.
- Using aforementioned SFW Improvement blog, I put forward the first set of detailed and specific policies the wiki had ever had, a vast improvement over the original basic setup we had, which did not account for any quality standards whatsoever. To this day I put forward additional ideas for the wiki and refinements for the policies, to improve their effectiveness while remaining fair.
- I run the Featured User interview template, and have since I first became an admin.
- I went along with a sham of a corruption call that involved issues completely irrelevant to the wiki, and had my adminship willingly removed. Even though I could have gotten it back freely due to the corruption call not being legitimate, I went through the proper voting process again and earned my adminship again.
- I've constantly run damage control, making sure the wiki both stayed in good shape and that Users followed the rules and policies, even if I had to be a hard@$$ about it.
See all this? This is a brief summary of what I've done for the wiki, not taking into account the numerous times I was involved in dealing with trolls and vandals. So, as you can see, I'm far from the iron fist tyrant people like to think I am. In fact, I probably have the longest resume you will see for an active SFW User period. I've made my mistakes, and any of the older Users (or ones who don't like me and try to dig up dirt) will be able to tell you some of my biggest. My methods are imperfect, and I'm far too cautious for my own good.
But you know something? None of this entitles or forces me to take the amount of total and utter CRAP I have been getting from a number of Users, both on this site and off. Ever since Xi called an illegitimate corruption call on me after his leave of absence in an attempt to keep me from stagnating possible SFW progress, I have had to take an ungodly amount of insults and questions of my competency. And not just from Users I actually know, no they have the guts to say it to my face. I've also been made aware that on wiki chat, Users with minimal contributions or involvement with the wiki feel they have the right to judge me and question me, when not once have any of them talked to me in a normal conversation, nor even attempted to get to know me for themselves.
I am not a perfect admin, and I am not the best admin, but god dammit, I am a person all the same. A person who has done a lot for this wiki, more than a lot of the Users on here can say. And I've got the scars to prove how often my @$$ has been bitten and burned for Sonic Fanon Wiki. So you know what? I've earned at least some respect from the rest of the Users on this wiki. You may not like me, and that's fine, but as a User and as an individual, I feel that not just my experience and attempts to help the wiki should be respected, but I personally should be respected as well.
So, to all those Users out there who feel that just because they don't like me they can question my competency and ability as an admin, take a good long look at this blog and answer me this: "Is this the repetoire of a User who lacks competency and capability?" Because quite frankly, I don't think so. And finally, to all those Users who believe they can just sit back on the wiki chat and talk s*** about me as they please; if you don't have the guts to say it to my face, then at least have the dignity to not talk about it at all. Because people who feel they can talk about someone behind their backs but don't have the courage to say it to the person directly are, in my opinion, the absolute worst kind of people.
So there! Now that I've finished my little rant, come at me with all the complaints and insults you've got! Because trust me, compared to some of the crap I've deal with before, both on this wiki and in real life, I can take anything you've got.
