SFW Winter Awards 2017~ Piano's Votes

Gonna leave my votes here to edit later on. Probably will start on these later. (I don't go in order, sorry)

Best Hero

1. Chloe-Su the Echidna- Her backstory is very interesting. I like her motive on how she wants to know who her father is and how her mother fell for him. Her abilities are also pretty unique. +1
2. Princess Penelope the Puppy- Sorry, but aside from being a princess that leads an overthrow, there's nothing really heroic about her. +0
3. Isaac the Hedgehog- Ummm..... no thanks. No history, no depth sorry (and I don't do Sonic recolors). -1
4. Rik the Spider Monkey- I'm neutral here. His history doesn't really make him much like a hero, and he has the whole 'I-will-avenge-my-family' cliche, but it really goes into depth on how he is a pretty skilled ice manipulator. +0
5. Arinku the Doberman- This character has a lot of cliches like 'Violence-is-never-the-answer', 'A-true-hero-doesn't-kill' and 'I-will-avenge-my-family', but sometimes, especially in cases like this, violence has to be the answer. It's nearly impossible to disband a gang without killing the members. I'm gonna remain neutral here. +0
6. Raven the Cyberhog (Nexus Ultimatum)- Absolutely. Raven has developed so much over the past three or so years. +1
7. Blitz the Wolf- I'm downvoting him because he's been nominated so many seasons for this award.... .... .... .... .... jk lmao (but seriously just win the damn award already) +1
8. Alfred the Ancient- The history took absolutely forever to read. Really hope you make it far for this. +1
9. Kioura The Angel Hedgehog- Oh. Well then. Let's see. [dramatic breath in] She's a nine-year-old "robot" whose mentor was an evil genius, joins a group of rebellious kids who probably haven't even gone through puberty yet equipped with two blades and a rifle. I'm sorry, but it's so hard to take this character seriously. -1

Best Neutral

1. Luella the Mouse- She's probably my favorite character of Aly's. A dark past, and a very shy character. Doesn't get involved with a lot. All a great example of a neutral character. +1
2. "Impression" the Wolf- His history was pretty long and confusing, but after reading it a few times I understood it. +1
3. Aloeru the Vaurotis- I'm sorry, but even though his personality may be neutral-friendly, the idea of killing your brother out of jealousy is absolutely terrible. That's the farthest thing from neutral I've ever seen. -1
4. Dark Lord Riven- Again with the long and confusing history. I guess having the power of life and death in your hands is a good balance to be neutral, and his personality is typical for a neutral. Tbh, I'd consider him more to be like an antihero due to such a title as a Dark Lord, but he's perfectly fit for a neutral character. +1
5. Jackpot the Gambler- Sounds like a fun guy to lose my money to! +1
6. Ember the Hyena- Sorry I prefer Team Aqua I like how she's a calm and collective person, but when her true colors shed all hell rises. +1
7. Tessa Huntress The Hedgehog- A girl with a rather boring life helping out her uncle. Nothing against that. +1

Best Villain

1. Zak-Ryder the Hedgehog- Three wives, servants, a powerful anti-government country who destroys all who stand in it's way? +1
2. Arna the Tasmanian Devil- She's not necessarily evil, but not all villains have to be evil anyway. At first reading her history, I figured she's not really much of a villain, but after beating up that punk at the diner though. Holy shit. +1
3. Jack- Umm... it even says in his infobox that he's neutral. -1
4. Xavek the Techno-Organic- His motive is awesomely terrifying. To kill mankind to free all mechanical lifeforms. That and with the knowledge he has on weapons and combat would make him easily the most terrifying villain on the list. +1
5. Runihuros Dreadscorch- This tyrant had his kingdom for 50 miserable years until a young woman finds out his weakness. He had a fun story to read, he has fearsome powers, and he's one formidable opponent for a mage to battle and defeat. +1
6. General Serges- A war general who serves under the wing of ∑. I generally don't really see him as much of a villain, but rather as being controlled by Sigma to do his deeds in another realm. +0
7. Octavia-Ca

Best Character

Male

1. Tye The Hedgehog- I've always liked this character. I really have nothing against him.  +1
2. Shiso of the East- He's the better Kung-Fu Panda right here. An honorable, spiritful, rather weird panda, He may not have any real gifts, but he's quite the swordsman and weapon expert.  +1
3. Albus the Cat- He lacks a history, and nothing really stands out about him in all honesty... -1
4. Doctor Jay the Hedgehog- "He used to be a famous rapper and now he's barely sane" (I smell Kanye). It doesn't even mention how he's a doctor or how he got to be a robotics-geek anyway. -1
5. Lance the Rabbit- His history kinda confuses me, but I guess it really implies how he makes a great clan leader. If the history was a little more clear, then I'd certainetly upvote. +0
6. General Serges- An honorable army leader that will be willing to do anything for his master. Nothing can be wrong with that. +1
7. Krieg the Hollow Blitz- The hollow self and complete opposite of Blitz. However, he's just as awesome. +1
8. Tesla The Hedgehog- Literally no personality, and a very brief backstory. Though I personally do really like him, there's not enough information to really judge him by. -1

Female

1. Jasmine the Bat- This is a great example of an original idea for a character. A gamer girl? Jeez I wish I came up with that.. +1
2. Lunari the Echidna- Astral projection is by far one of my absolute favorite superpowers (though AHS gave me a whole new unique meaning to the ability). A sweet girl with a personality. Her history is very shallow and just explains on how she is able to leave her body, doesn't really go that far in depth. +0
3. Keira The Angel Hedgehog- Okay, first off, props to having the absolute worst parents ever. Giving your daughter a toy axe when she's barely a year old and then giving her a real one at age seven? The klutzy girl might fall and accidentally decapitate herself... And if that wasn't bad enough, her father nearly killed her in a battle when she was four. Aside from all of that I'm honestly neutral on her.  +0
4. Reens the Hedgehog- She's a scientific girl with knight-style combat and a prosthetic arm, who saved her boyfriend and works for a castle. She's got quite the life going on. +1
5. Melissa the Hedgehog- I must say, over the past few years that I've seen Melissa's page on here, I can't recognize her as that brown Amy Rose recolor anymore. However, while her looks may be more original, I can't really say the same about her history. It started great, family traditions, pride. But the second half only showed how she interacted with official characters. As much as I like her, she still needs some improvement. +0

Best Character Design

Male

1. Vexx the Timewalker- Just win the fucking award already. +1
2. David The Echidna- I like how the darkness of his skin tone and fur brings out the bright white jacket. +1
3. Amasis Khnum the Jackal- The colors work strangely well with each other. Kinda looks like a boy scout tbh +1
4. User:Austin Bison/Vihn_Kasigira_the_Spaniel- I actually think he's probably my favorite design out of all the nominees. Though his outfit and appearance look very feminine I think it looks pretty good and gives off a happy vibe. +1
5. Doctor Jay the Hedgehog- Not really digging the design tbh. The overuse of white makes his darker skin tone look kinda bad tbh. -1
6. Lance the Rabbit- Not really a fan of the design tbh, purple and green don't look great on anyone (except maybe Barney) +0

Female

1. Angelique the Wolf- I remember first seeing this page as if I saw it somewhere before, and then I just realized that Edgy Waffle is actually Proud-To-Be-Otaku, and just rebooted her old page from last year. Black and purple is probably one of the best color choices to put on a character, and her design is really appealing. +1
2. Vilahra the Dragon- I love her hair oml, and her jumpsuit type style is pretty cute and unique, even though I'm not really a fan of turquoise and mint green. +1
3. Rosaria Robotnik- Again restating on how much I can't stand purple and green together, but I guess her headset and birthmark is rather unique. Not really digging the jacket thing. +0
4. Ziggy the Butterfly- I honestly feel so bad for Wingsz since her page has been a beehive for trolls, like leave her page alone. I honestly think she should win the award this year. +1
5. Keira The Angel Hedgehog- I think she's wearing a little too much. It's over the top and I'm sure she doesn't need all that clothing. The purples don't match well with each other. Not a fan. -1
6. Evaline the Chilla- Don't be so hard on yourself Starry, your character designs are freaking phenominal. +1
7. Jayda-Su Pyrovolt the Echidna (Post Genesis Wave Future)- Kinda neutral on the design. I really like her outfit, but pink hair on red spines looks atrocious. +0
8. Celesta the Nightmare- The colors work surprisingly well, black yellow and cyan are a pretty interesting choice. I like her face design too! +1

Strongest Character

1. Okáno the Eyes of the Forest Cycle- These characters is honestly so intriguing. I really like the whole death and life cycle and being hosted within a rather powerless being. +1
2. Orin the Dragon- Definitely. Fire or electricity can't stop this guy. Incredible accuracy, high stats and using the features he is born with as weapons. A recipe for a true beast. +1
3. Leyvaten the Dragon- The page lacks a history, but his abilities are pretty interesting. +1
4. Ramonna the Hedgehog- The idea with how people are judging her makes me question if they know what exactly they are judging her on. Yes, she may be powerless, but her abnormal physical strength is what really makes her stand out. +1
5. Arna the Ravager- A loud, powerful crystallokinetic. Basically Ramonna's strength but with an added power. Sounds like one tough cookie. +1
6. Vul- Awful grammar, and though he has very cool and terrifying abilities, such as breaking the fabric of time, none of them seem to demonstrate strength. -1
7. Mars the Dire Wolf- An accidental but powerful electrokinetic with good durability and combat. Definitely deserves an upvote.  +1
8. Devoyva the Conqueror- This guy's power is so freaking epic. He can make even the most dangerous of his thoughts become a reality. That and he's skilled with a bow and arrow. +1
9. Tesla The Hedgehog- A primary electrokinetic, who's able to run at sonic speeds. Pretty good pssst rubber isn't affected by electricity-might wanna add that +1
10. Xavis Pyrovolt- The page is incomplete with missing headers, and you lack weaknesses. But I really do like the concept of emerald-free chaos energy. +0

Best Speaker

1. Blitz the Wolf- Though the meaning of this is pretty cliche with the whole 'people can change thing', but I think it pretty much defines the trusting side of Bltiz's character.  +1

"People can be dumb, mean, crazy, sad, and a bunch of other things. But it doesn't matter if they are those things - if they're trying their hardest, if they want to make things better, if they really want to do good... then I say we give them that chance."

2. Reens the Hedgehog- I like this quote explains how she keeps a happy and calm face through the toughest hours. +1 

"Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and the world thinks you're stupid for being too sensitive. That's why I always have a smile on my face, even when I'm dying inside. Who wants to be sensitive anyway? It just shows you have a heart that isn't made of stone."

3. Kioura The Angel Hedgehog- The meaning of this is pretty deep, but this could easily be summarized to be much shorter, and the meaning is all over the place. That and she's nine. I'm sorry. I can't with this. -1   

"She gave it her best, to survive and maintain her life, for me, because, she knew, that no one would take her rightful place. So she created me, and I was launched into a whole new mystery, adventure, and a lot more, with a team by my side, which is Team Rebellion. And now, I'm going to fight, in order to find all of the remaining mobians that are still remaining. Together, we'll the pass the mountains, deserts, and ruins, to solve each mystery, so we can find all of them. But me myself isn't going to give up for the next generation, since I'm gonna fight till the very end, and on the battlefield. I'll wreck every single enemy that stands in my way, but if I'm standing alone on the battlefield, when all of them has already disappeared, then, it will be, just me and Keira's axe, fighting a thousand shadow monsters, on my way to the end."

4.Knockout the Wolf-  I'm going off a limb and saying that Blitz said his quote above around the same time she said her quote. However, I feel she doesn't go as far in depth as Blitz did with the whole change cliche. +0

"I do want to avenge them. But you, Zagan... you've tried to atone for what you've done, unlike the others. Call me crazy, but I believe anyone who tries to make up for the bad things they've done can be forgiven if they're trying hard enough. Like you, for instance."

5. Dark Lord Riven- No.... I don't see why you like those pointless questions. +0

Best Location

oh wow 3/4 of these nominations are all Chames's.

1. Azima- It's a good representation of the world, but it's kinda generic choice for best location. If we were talking best realm, I definitely would get an upvote. But perhaps maybe one of the continents, countries, or locations within this world would have made a good substitute? +0
2. Cinnabar Forest- A forest with rare herbs and a pretty intense history. +1
3. Wingstrong Orphanage- I like how it's not just your ordinary orphanage, with three big rival groups that divide this "family". +1
4. Emerald School- Though it's a lovely and prestigious school, nothing really stands out to make it the best. +0

Best Leader

1. Character the Lynx- He may be a detective, but what is he the leader of? -1
2. Xavis Pyrovolt- Same reason as above, also adding on his page is incomplete. -1
3. Sharifa the Lizard- Aside from a leader-like personality, her history is barely complete, and it doesn't really talk about how much of a leader she is on her page. However, the team that she leads has its own page which kinda goes more into depth in how she's a leader.  +0
4. Olivier the Culpeo- His story amazes me. Him, his wife and his army. To go against and defeat your own country's navy, and then the guy who ruled over Hordaiquan. +1
5. Vlad the Komodo Dragon- His too. To reform a hood-like ghetto gang into a successful business and recruit all these people. Wow. Minato has seriously impressing leader-like characters. +1

1. Yaivo Team (SSA)- Lots of cat .... Overall, not really a fan of the fact that almost everyone should be long dead (120+), and the only one who isn't long dead has thinks he/she/it/whatever is six (but whoever is actually fifty). That and they really don't have any history or deeds. -1
2. Team Nightshade X- Same problem as above with no examples of heroic deeds, that and their motive is very cliche, and their rivals are on "friendly terms". -1
3. Team Codex- Surprisingly I like the Nazar more ^^;;  I like how it's a group of hackers who once scammed their people reformed into a group of elite members to fight against major forces.  +1
4. Nightmare Seekers- Did someone say Dark One? I the religious cult idea that worship a shard that holds eternal demise and darkness. From what's on the page, they sound very dark and scary. +1
5. Prinus Clan- WOW! AN ECHIDNA WITH EARS!!! So they're an endangerd group of psychokinetic echidnas. While that is out of the normal, that's really the only thing that really makes them stand out. +0
6. The Mythic Knights- Christina isn't even mentioned on this page... They're a large and powerful group of trained warriors. Though they don't really have a specific motive, they do manage to fight great dangers. +1

Best Fan Series

1. The Pursuit of Colona- I like this a lot actually. The plot is very cool, and shows how this tough princess is handling the overthrowing of a tyrant. A princess protagonist is very corny, but it's great to have a damsel that is not in distress for once. +1
2. Sonic and the Fountain of Youth- Nice to see a Sonic Storybook Game in here. I like the idea of a fountain of youth, though it sounds like something these little rascals would've gotten to and drained. +1
3. Sonic Jamz- Good God dude, one season at a time, it's getting seriously messy with all these random arcs. That and.... really not a fan of fan characters screwing up the canon game storylines. We got 13 seasons, and several specials and movies. Everything is just so.... messy. -1
4. Tales of the Echo- Having Christina in Tales of the Echo was a whole lot of fun. I like how the episodes all build up to this one giant life changing war. (And I'm soo so terribly sorry that Christina has been inactive for like th past 3-4 roleplays qq)  +1

This looks so ominous and scary. Really good job with the whole picture, Chames! +1

I really like the intenseness of this picture, but it's really sketchy and kinda messy tbh. +0

I like how Ryu has a really distinct style of drawing his character's muzzles. That anatomy is beyond perfect seriously wish mine was as good as her's. [patinetly awaiting the colored version of this] +1

Although the fire does look cool, it covers up the picture (that and somethings off about his anatomy) -1

Her face looks really blocky, but props to the color choice and the interesting shading. +0

I swear, Nitro's art has improved so much, this turned out phenominal. Wow. +1

Eh, the hands look seriously weird and the 'eternal space' gif for fur is seriously making me dizzy. -1

This one I think looks better, however I'm still not really a fan of it's simplicity and the spacey fur choice. +0

This looks sick, seriously love your art style, Tesla. +1

Best Neutral

• "Impression" the Wolf
• Ember the Hyena +1 A pretty rough decision, I like her overall character. She's completely calm, emotionless, with all of her feelings kept deep inside that black soul of hers.... or should I say red twisted soul [shot]. I'm much more hooked onto her.

Best Villain

• Xavek the Techno-Organic +1 I like both nominees, but 'll admit, I've been hoping he wins the category. His motive is very original and scary, he's powerfully equipped and he's easily the most terrifying villain on the list.
• Runihuros Dreadscorch

Best Character

• Shiso of the East
• Jasmine the Bat +1 They're both extremely unique (and made by Chames), but I like the vibe that Jasmine gives off more. She's much more simple and I just love the originality of her character. 

Male

• Shiso of the East
• General Serges
• Krieg the Hollow Blitz +1 Choosing between him and Shiso was a tough choice (you're still cool tho serges), but the fact that you have a superiorly strong clone is pretty awesome. 

Female (Decided)

• Jasmine the Bat

Best Character Design

• Vexx the Timewalker
• Evaline the Chilla +1 They have pretty similar color schemes involving black and light blue, and while both of them look freaking amazing, Evaline is just my favorite design out of all the nominees. 

Male

• Vexx the Timewalker +1 Though they both look freaking radical, I just really admire Vexx's color scheme. The two shades of grey mixed with light blue and gold look fantastic. 
• David the Echidna 

Female

• Angelique the Wolf
• Ziggy the Butterfly
• Evaline the Chilla +1 These character designs are all just so unique and great. This is the toughest to choose out of, but I chose Evaline because her deisgn is more appealing and unique in my eyes. Not saying that the other nominees had god awful designs, they're all amazing, this one's just my favorite of the four.

Best Speaker

• Blitz the Wolf +1 Both very cliche 'people can change' quotes, this was tough to pick from. I like Blitz's more because it goes more in depth.

Best Fan Project

• Sonic Boom: Thunderstruck
• Silver the Hedgehog: The Telling of the Future +1  I didn't get to vote for either of the nominees during the first round, so I figured here's where I'll put in my two cents. I like this game more because the idea is much more original, the idea is very intriguing, and we all need a break from Sonic to have more of our questions answered about Silver's origins.

Best Fan Series

• Sonic and the Fountain of Youth
• Tales of the Echo +1 No, it's not because Christina's (sorta?) involved in this. I just really like the idea and the sequence of how all these events go. This choice was very tough, since I really enjoyed reading about both of these.

Tesla and Emerald +1 this was an extremely extremely tough decisions because both of these pictures are fucking phenomenal. Y'all are freaking amazing at drawing holy shiz. I like this one better because the lineart looks much neater, the shading is ridiculously epic and overall it's a pretty cool picture! Very very tough choice.
