Okay, so, let's talk about something that I have had my mind on for a while now, Moonlight. What is Moonlight, you ask? Well, within the Tales of the Echo universe, there is a few concepts that have been thrown around and a few legends that exist. One of these legends is Thasintorium and Verintorium or Sunlight and Moonlight in Draconic. Sunlight is a legendary team comprised of people with supernatural powers. After some time the members of Sunlight disappeared and because of this, many normal people created a team called Moonlight. Moonlight was a group of normal mobians and humans who performed the exact same jobs as Sunlight, but without any of the supernatural powers.

What are you saying, exactly?[]

I don't want to spoil Tales of the Echo, but I currently have a few seasons planned out.

Season 1: Echo Saga

Season 2: Civil War Saga

Season 3: Madness Saga

Season 4: Black Blood Saga

Season 5: Lost Metropolis Saga

Blank

Season 6/7: Destiny Saga

Season 7/8: Destruction Saga

Now that Blank was originally another season. WIthout spoiling anything too much, there is a point at the end of the fifth season where the Mythic Knights have to split up. The more powerful and static members of the group (Neo, Zero, Trinity, etc) have to go one way and experience a five year gap in time, while the less static members (Like Echo, Delta, etc.) will go and protect the world while the Mythic Knight are gone. This creates a team called Moonlight and the 6th season of the series, Moonlight Saga, was made.

Then I got to thinking. The moonlight saga is a lot different from a normal season of Tales of the Echo, it does things differently and holds different values. Why would it be a season when it could be a spin-off, explaining the gap while Tales of the Echo went on Hiatus? So that's what we're going to talk about today, and I want to figure out. Should Moonlight be a spin-off or just another season?

Moonlight, in Detail[]

Moonlight is a series starring Echo Radon as the main protagonist rather than Neo Tranquil. While Tales of the Echo is more focused on combat and is event/plot driven, Moonlight is meant to have a stronger focus on investigation and be character driven, while also keeping the combat focus. Tales of the Echo takes inspiration from a lot of different things, such as the anime; Soul Eater, and the video game franchise; Fire Emblem, but Moonlight instead takes inspiration from Gatchaman Crowds. Rather than the static ideals that Tales of the Echo covers such as betrayal, the meaning of purpose, and here soon depression, Moonlight focuses on asking questions like "what does it mean to be a hero?" and "what is more important, freedom or safety?"

Moonlight also will have longer seasons than Tales of the Echo. While TOTE has twelve roleplays a season, Moonlight doubles that, having a total of 24 episodes a season, with a total of three different seasons at the most. This allows me to do a lot more 'big' episodes with a season premiere, mid-season finale, mid-season premiere, and season finale. This also lets me cover more arcs and have more focuses on different character development. There is also the possibility of doing something that hasn't been done in Tales of the Echo for a very long time, Free join roleplays (Although there would need to be some experimentation before I gave those a green light.) not every roleplay would be free join, but a good number would be. Maybe, four or five at the most.

Moonlight also has two different 'modes' during roleplay. Near the beginning of the first season, the members of moonlight are trained under a very skilled Chronomancer and are given the Zodiac Stones, which allow them to take on a different form (not really a super form, per se), think Power Rangers when it comes to the forms. There are other plot points to talk about when it comes to these stones, but without spoiling anything I'll just say this, people are beginning to lose their powers. Kinesis and magic are starting to disappear from the world and the only way that our characters can use their powers, is when they are in the zodiac form.

When would this happen?[]

Moonlight would not start until Tales of the Echo has ended their fifth season. Afterwards either we would begin our sixth season, Moonlight saga, or Tales of the Echo would go on hiatus and Moonlight would start. I'm really iffy on this concept because the last time I tried to do a Tales of the Echo Spin-off (Elementals) it didn't go over well. In the end, that may have just been due to lack of planning on my part, what I can say is that Moonlight already has some plans being made if it becomes a spin off. I already have two seasons for it worked out, and am working on a third. Before I go any farther, I just wanted to know the opinions that people had. I appreciate any feedback and talk from other roleplayers here, of course, but of course, the Tales of the Echo team has a very huge say in what happens here, because it would affect them the most. It's still pretty far off into the future, but if I start planning for it now then it will be better in the future when we finally get to that time.

Could more people join?[]

Yes! While we have a good number of people already on the team, I would be open to inviting a few more. With the focus on being character driven, I would need to know what characters you would want in the series and of course doing some talkplays if need be. Of course this is all in speculation, all of this only applies if Moonlight becomes a spin off. If Moonlight is just another seasons, then we'll have to figure that out once we get there.

So with all of this being said, what are your opinions on Moonlight? Should it just be another season of Tales of the Echo, or should I make it a spin-off?
