Concept and Theme
It started of the creator's (The Nameless Seraph) idea of the inspiration of Sonic: What If.. and Sonic Riders with the style of calamity, elements of the chaotic generation division, apocalyptic like, and cybernetic futures.
The game has a lot references of mythological according to the creator, has only magic and sci-fi.
According to the creator, she has the concept that the characters live in a fantasy where the magic of the divine forces have left to the future.
Synopsis
After the Babylonian War against the galaxians, the hero Sonic, now 21, is now a veteran while leading the. After the peace between Sonic and Jet's relationship still the same as ever, the shrine priestess's daughter, Serha Nguyen, visits to Inanna, New Babylonia's capital city for the possession for the next shrine priestess for her mother's replacement

Sonic was riding on his hoverboard, Blue Star 2.0, as his friends are in the Metro Nightclub, the second famous nightclub of Inanna's urban, feeling tired of all those World Grand Prix as the number one when he was at his teenage life. Although, he moved to Inanna two years ago for a long retirement in his apartment where Knuckles and Tails as his roommates lived there. He was thinking of all his fun moments during the battle against Eggman, his friends celebrating his birthday parties, all his memories on his album on his techphone, until knock on the door. Sonic gets off his bed, heading towards the door revealing to be a queazy Knuckles and a stressed Tails having a hard time to get home at 12:00 am, giving an unfortunate waste of time for Sonic to get Knuckles to bed. After 12 minutes eating some Japanese teriyaki, Tails and Sonic head to bed for the next day of working as professional (I hate this idea)
Two hours later, Sonic woke up with a migraine as he checked the clock: it was 3:10 am. One step to get up out of bed when a sudden tremor causing him to fall into his ankle, Tails, in his room, hit by a bag of screw on to the floor, and Knuckles, in a hammock, falls down into his hoverboard. As Sonic got up to his feet, he put on his boots as he grabbed his hoverboard fast like a lightning bolt, then throws into mid-gravity hopping, and straight with maximum speed, theremore, the other people gathering to Inanna's famous national park from where the tremor came. Unexpected to the people, around the news, the continents, all over the world, Tails crossed getting some checkings for data, permitted by the government, for the strange meteor what was centered into the core of the park.....

The ending was actually unexpected to players as it turns that out Sonic is possessed and cursed by the rejected god of chaos, Exnihr, as Serha accidentally touched his arm as she felt a disturbing flashbacks as the real self of Sonic was trapped inside of an hourglass. During the gameplay, it was revealed that Jet was just protecting Serha from him all along

Trivia
- Inanna was named after the Sumerian goddess of love, beauty, desire, war, and political power.
- Their statue is a reference of the Star of Ishtar which is the symbol of the goddess Inanna.
- The timeline that took place in TDG: NFS is inspired by cyber apocalypse, which is called Revelation XX.
- It is the first game of the series that shows a plot twist after the final boss fight.
- Although, it was known as anagnorisis, which is the sudden revealing of the character's true identity or nature.
- .According to The Nameless Seraph, she had an interview to all players has to choose the gender of the character Fritz the Towhee. Unfortunately, she had made Fritz non-gender or non-binary because the concept of the character has not been picked rather if it/"they" is tomboy female or just male, while been voiced deeply by Miley Cyrus, making the reason of why Fritz the only character of being non-binary.
- According to the voiceover of Serha, the two voice actresses voiced a character from Naruto Hinata Hyuga, both English and Japanese. Same thing as the second time in the Real Goddess Generation: Quantum Sub-Zero Gravity comic (Sonikku Mashin Megami Sedai: Supido no Kunan in Japanese)
- One scene where took over through the Sonic Route is a reference of the first game, Sonic: Monsters from The Other World, where the intro shows the meteor scene in it.

True Divine Generation: Need for Speed... has a lot of pros and cons. IGN considers the game as one of the best Sonic games in the whole franchise.
