Thunder is a 17 year old sailor, and the captain of the Thunder Bolt. Thunder travels all over the world, seeking new adventures and exploring different lands. All the while, he is writing a book about his travels all around the world. He travels with his three siblings: Lightning, his twin brother, Electric, his older brother, and Zap, his younger brother. The four of them all work together to sail around and make things run smoothly. He is also good friends with Smash The Echidna, who is also the first person who comes to him when he needs to go somewhere across the sea. He's considered charging people for riding his ship, since he's had to do it plenty of times, but he didn't. He is also in a relationship with Estrella Marina the Hedgehog, a girl he met while returning from a voyage.

Thunder is a yellow hedgehog with twelve quills on the back of his head. They are a bit thinner than most hedgehog's quills, but they are also very sharp as well. His eyes are light blue. His outfits may vary, but his main one-other than a sailors outfit-is a purple life vest, a grey and purple striped scarf, blue gloves with two white stripes going from the wrist to the knuckles, and white and purple shoes with two black straps going across. His brother, Lightning, often wears a very similar outfit. It's actually the same one but in different colors. They both got it at the same place.

To emphasize that, he has a few quills coming down the side of his face. The spikes on top of his head are usually kept slicked down and smooth, mainly so that his hat can fit on his head better. They both got it at the same place, though after a time they eventually stopped wearing it.

Personality
Thunder is the leader type of person. He likes to keep things going smoothly and have everyone and everything in order. He plans ahead a lot, and is often busy with something. Of course he always tries to set some time aside for friends. He's generally a nice and considerate person. He works hard to achieve his goals. He enjoys working and adventuring. It all makes a profit for him one way or another. However, he can be easily annoyed when something or someone keeps him from doing what he needs to do, or makes it harder both physically and mentally. He tries to be a bit of a gentleman and helps anyone in need. He can be a tad bit shy around girls though, unless he knows them well.

He plans ahead a lot, and is often busy with something. Of course he always tries to set some time aside for friends. If it looks like he'll be too busy to hang around, he'll usually invite a few friends to join him on his next voyage. Thunder also is very interested in archeology, and has studied it along his voyages. He loves learning about the history and cultures of the different countries he's visited, and is fascinated with old ruins and artifacts.

He's been trying to work on an Australian accent, recently. He thinks that they go well with sailors. But he can't really keep it up for long.

Thunder is an honest, earnest, loyal young man who always tries to do the right thing in the long run. Although exploring the world, making exciting new discoveries and chronicling his adventures is his personal mission that takes priority over most of what he does, he won't hesitate to stop to lend a helping hand to those in need. If faced with the decision of helping someone at the cost of valuable treasure or discovering ancient unexplored lands, he will always sacrifice it for the greater good. After all, he believes that as long as it's still out there, there will always be another chance later.

Strengths and Powers
Thunder has powers over both Lightning and Wind elements. Both combined, he can make artificial thunder storms without the rain. He has no idea how he came about these powers. He also has speed rivaling that of Splice The Hedgehog. His speed came from a pair of mysterious shoes that his father passed down to him and his brothers. They were supposed to share them so that they could slowly increase their speed, however, Electric's feet grew too fast and he didn't get a chance to wear them very long. Lightning hogged the shoes most of the time, so he is nearly twice as fast as Thunder. As for Zap, he is currently wearing the same shoes now that everyone else outgrew them.

Thunder has powers over both Lightning and Wind elements. Both combined, he can make artificial thunder storms without the rain. He has no idea how he came about these powers. His electrokinesis stands out the most out of his family, in that he relies on drawing lightning from the sky in order to charge up. When charged, he can release it in the form of a single bolt from his fingertips. The plus side is that its a very powerful attack; the downside is that he needs to recharge after a single use. This is why he resorts to manipulating the thunder clouds above into striking lightning to wherever he wants.
Thunder is the only one of his brothers who isn't bothered by water when electrically charged. He can't really use his abilities when submerged, however.

Thunder's lightning powers exceed his wind powers greatly, however, his wind powers are someone strong as well. Oddly enough, Thunder is the only one out of his brethren who inherited Wind powers.

In battle, Thunder is a pretty good fighter. He has decent physical strength and endurance, and with his powers at his disposal, he can overcome many threats. However, due to the nature of his powers, he cannot use them whilst indoors. This is why he fights with his Lightning Rod; a long, white staff with a transluscent yellow orb on top, which constantly crackles with electricity on the inside. The Lightning Rod was made by him and Lightning in a contest during Camp Crystal. Though they didn't really come close to winning, nor was it originally intended to be a weapon, Thunder eventually realized it's usefulness in battle and fixed it up to be a battering item. The orb on the top can store a massive amount of voltage, from which Thunder can add to or draw from at will, allowing him to fight effectively both indoors and outdoors.

Thunder is mainly good at literature, commanding a ship, and leading people. He has a good sense of direction, and is the best out of his brothers at map reading. He's also a pretty good painter and artist. He painted his own ship and added the lightning bolt insigna on the side and also decorated the sails with a wind insigna. One of the reasons he put the wind insigna on the sails is because he has wind elemental powers and can use it to his advantage while sailing.

Thunder and his brothers live alone in their house near the docks in Greenflower City. They all sail around the world and take notes of events, locations, and people they meet on their journies and add it all to one big book that they're working together on. They occasionally transport people or things from one place or another if they are asked to. Thunder has considered charging people for it, but never went through with it.

At sea, Thunder takes the helm of their ship, the Thunderbolt, keeping the crew swiftly on course. Lightning is appointed as the lookout. If there is any point of interest he spots along the way, they'll usually take a detour to check it out. Otherwise, his job is to keep them from sailing into danger. Electric is the physical worker and handiman. He raises the sails, weighs anchor, and performs maintenance on the ship. While the Thunderbolt has sails to catch the wind, it also has a motor to push it forward as well. Combining the motor with Thunder's aerokinesis against the sails, the Thunderbolt is true to its name when it comes to speed. It is Electric's job to maintain this. And finally, Zap is in charge of chronicling their travels as they go along. While everyone normally takes part in this, Zap is the only one besides Thunder who has a travel journal, and constantly keeps track of the events of their voyage.

Along their adventures, Thunder has discovered just how big the world really is. He brings souvenirs from almost every place he goes to. He's also explored non-populated or abandoned islands, and occasionally finds treasure. He has found treasure maps in the past and loves to go treasure hunting whenever he gets a lead. He generally plans out where they'll go and when unless something new comes up. Thunder works hard to keep everything going smoothly, and is often found either working on his ship, getting things ready for a trip, or out at sea already. Thunder rarely actually hangs out with any of his friends. He's usually busy.

If he is needed, he will postpone whatever he has planned and will report for duty ASAP.

During his travels, he met a girl named Estrella Marina, and has since been helping her on a quest to take out certain facilities scattered across the world, but all connected by a mysterious and sinister animal experimentation organization. He refuses to stop until every last one of them has been shut down. The people he has freed from these facilities had begun hiding out in a cave near Lake Lily. Eventually as the organization was nearing total defeat, they began to build a small village just outside the cave. When Thunder learned of this, he began to help by bringing them the materials they would need.

Thomas Adrian Star was a man who lived a regular life, until he was taken in by a group of scientists in a shady organization; an organization which were conducting experiments on people and transforming them into mutants. The purpose of the experiments were to try and forcibly empower a person. They used 3 lightning Elemental Rings, 1 cyclone ring, and the prototype Weather ring. Their experiment was successful, but with this newfound power, he broke out and escaped the facility. He went into hiding ever since.
None of Thunder's friends ever found out-or asked-what happened to his parents. Thunder doesn't remember too well, but Electric does. Thunder's parents had passed away in a house fire. Their house had burned down in a mysterious incident codenamed by the police: The F-12 incident. Thunder and his brothers were the only survivors because their father took them out the house, then went back to get their mother-when the house collapsed on top of them. They then had to be taken in by the Black Rose Orphanage. They stayed there until Electric managed to get them into a house which an old man had just moved out of.

 +
 +
It wasn't until a few years later that Tom came out of hiding and changed his name. He changed his name to Bolt The Hedgehog, reflecting upon his new lightning powers. He lived a somewhat normal life again, and then started a family in Station Square after getting married, and had four children. They all inherited his lightning powers, however, only one had gotten his aerokinesis. To further distance himself in hopes of lying low, he masked all his children's real names with related words to his own.
Still nervous about the organization that capture him, he made a decision to leave the continent via ship. One day, he had gotten a good deal on a mighty vessel, that would be big enough to fit him, his family, and all their belongings on it. He took his family down to Greenflower City to visit his wife's relatives as he went to the docks to finish business. After buying the ship, he went back to join the family.
 +
 +
However, the organization managed to find him. They sent a man to the house to kidnap him and bring him back. The man went and broke into the house and attacked him. He fought him with a fire elemental ring in hopes of matching up to his lightning powers. During the struggle, the man accidentally set the house on fire with his elemental ring. Bolt then hurried to get his children out of the house, but was stalled many times by the man that attacked him. He managed to get them out safely and went back in to help his wife. But due to the man recklessly burning the house away, the entire building collapsed on top of them, which left the children alone. This was known as the F-12 incident. The police never could find out what exactly caused the fire. Witnesses said that they saw a man break into the house and shortly afterwards a fire broke out. The only victims who survived the incident were the kids. Because of the incident, they were sent to the Black Rose Orphanage to live for a while. It wasn't until Thomas' eldest son Electric was 16 years old that he was able to move out of there with his siblings. He was free to go, and Thunder and Lightning were allowed to move out with him under his care, but at the age of 8, Zap was too young to leave. He was to stay behind in the orphanage. Not wanting to leave their brother behind, the three elder brothers snuck him out one night and made a break for it.
 +
 +
With all four siblings together, they took up residence in an old man's house. The old man was moving away, and let them have it for free. That was how they came to live near the docks, and lived by themselves with no parents.
Later, they learned of the vacant ship, and found it to be the same ship that their father had bought years ago. With the owner dead, it had sat in the docks for many years. Thunder, the second eldest at the age of 14, then decided that he would take command of the ship.

 +
One day, after about a week of settling into their home and setting up their new ship, each brother was busy working on a different thing. Thunder was drawing concept designs for the ship's hull and sail, Lightning was working in the ship, and Electric was working in the house, arranging new furniture and making sure everything was set right. Zap on the other hand, had left to the store to get some supplies for Thunder. On his way back, he took notice of a few distinct people on the lookout for someone. They were from the Black Rose Orphanage, and they appeared to be looking for him. He recognized at least one of them. Panicked, he quickly dove into an alleyway to hide.
As the men passed by, Zap soon noticed that he was not alone; someone else was hiding almost right next to him. An older, red and blue hedgehog, who looked just as startled to see him as he was. After the men left, the two began to talk, and learned that they each were orphanage runaways. The older boy introduced himself as Splice, and then offered to take him home.
Later, Thunder had entered a sweepstakes game and won second prize. He got a lot of money, and ended up buying a ship. It was rather plain until they all pitched in to design it. Since his early days, Thunder had always wanted to be a sailor. With that money, he lived up to his dream.

 +
They arrived at the Star residence fairly late, as the sun was already setting. The older brothers had begun to worry until Splice delivered Zap home. Electric invited him inside and they began to talk about what happened. After learning that the orphanage was after both of them, Thunder mentioned that things will be better once they begin their voyages. He tells Splice about their ship and their shared dream to set sail for adventure. Excited, Splice said he wanted to join them too; at least for one trip. He said that he'd bring his friends along too, which Thunder agreed with. Soon, he would set out on his first voyage, with new friends to accompany him and his brothers. He had high hopes for the future.
He later met Smash, who was looking for someone to take him somewhere, and they soon became friends. Ever since then, he's let Smash ride his ship whenever he needed to get overseas.

An interesting fact. A caption for an old Sonic X recolor picture of him, showing him holding a picture, outrightly stated that he was looking for the "Legendary "Miracle Water"". However, Nothing ever came of that. It was just a fitting caption, implying that he was treasure hunting. About 3 years later, It just so happened that the special artifact that would cure any known illness that they were risking their lives for, was in fact called, "Miracle Water". In story, It turned out that it was the same water Thunder had been hunting for on the picture. However, this turned out to be a coincidence. The same goes for the name for the item that heals all HP and SP in Splice The Hedgehog, which was also called "Miracle Water". The name for the item will most likely be changed, due to the contradictions in it's placement.

Thunder The Hedgehog

Thunder is a 24 year old sailor, and the captain of the Thunder Bolt. Thunder travels all over the world, seeking new adventures and exploring different lands. All the while, he is writing a book about his travels all around the world. He travels with his four crewmates: Lightning, his twin brother, Electric, his older brother, and Zap, his younger brother, and finally Estrella Marina, his girlfriend. The five of them all work together to sail around and make things run smoothly. He is also good friends with Smash The Echidna, who always comes to him when he needs to go somewhere across the sea.

Looks

Thunder Hatless

Hatless Thunder

Thunder Sprite

Thunder is a yellow hedgehog with several quills on his head, almost like sharp hair. To emphasize that, he has a few quills coming down the side of his face. The spikes on top of his head are usually kept slicked down and smooth, mainly so that his hat can fit on his head better. His eyes are light blue. His outfits may vary, but his main one--other than a sailors outfit--is a purple life vest, a grey and purple striped scarf, blue gloves with two white stripes going from the wrist to the knuckles, and white and purple shoes with two black straps going across. His brother, Lightning, sometimes wears a very similar outfit. It's actually the same one but in different colors. They both got it at the same place, though after a time they eventually stopped wearing it.

Personality

File:Thunder - Neutral High Res.png

Art by Flame-Eliwood

Thunder is the leader type of person. He likes to keep things going smoothly and have everyone and everything in order. He plans ahead a lot, and is often busy with something. Of course he always tries to set some time aside for friends.

He's generally a nice and considerate person. He works hard to achieve his goals. He enjoys working and adventuring. It all makes a profit for him one way or another. However, he can be easily annoyed when something or someone keeps him from doing what he needs to do, or at least makes it harder to get things done. He tries to be a bit of a gentleman and helps anyone in need. He always has a polite and slightly formal way of speaking. He can be a tad bit shy around girls though, unless he knows them well.

Thunder Battle Stance

Thunder's power over lightning exceed his control of the wind, however, his aerokinesis are somewhat strong as well. It is unknown exactly how far his wind manipulation can reach. Oddly enough, Thunder is the only one out of his brethren who inherited aerokinesis.

General Info

Thunder and his brothers live alone in their house near the docks in Greenflower City. They all sail around the world and take notes of events, locations, and people they meet on their journies and add it all to one big book that they're working together on. They occasionally transport people or things from one place or another if they are asked to. Thunder has considered charging people for it, but never went through with it.

Breath of Fire III - Guild

Ocean theme (Orchestrated)

Along their adventures, Thunder has discovered just how big the world really is. He brings souvenirs from almost every place he goes to. He's also explored non-populated or abandoned islands, and occasionally finds treasure; some of which he will keep, while others he donates to museums. (Particularly one specific museum in Station Square.) He has found treasure maps in the past and loves to go treasure hunting whenever he gets a lead. He generally plans out where they'll go and when unless something new comes up. Thunder works hard to keep everything going smoothly, and is often found either working on his ship, getting things ready for a trip, or out at sea already. As such, Thunder rarely actually hangs out with any of his friends, as he's usually too busy. However, he'll gladly invite them along on his adventures.

He was also one of the few people who assisted Smash in his investigation of Skull Cross, following Jenny's death.

Items Currently In Possession

Traveling Journal: A small journal for traveling, made for easy noting of events. He has a bigger one for when he actually wants to sit down and take the time to write everything out.

Dictionary Set: A set of thick dictionaries, all in different languages. Specifically so he can translate what he doesn't understand, as he travels all around the world. They are rather heavy to carry around all the time, so he has to take one he's going to need if on foot. Otherwise, he keeps them on his ship.

Treasure Maps: He has found a few treasure maps on his travels. His last map lead to the mythical Miracle Water. His most recent map, though, points to an island far to the south-east.

Lightning Rod: His weapon. He can use it as an extra source for his lightning powers.

Pocket Watch: A simple, silver pocket watch. It's very old, borderline antique, but it's in perfect working condition.

Back Story

Thomas Adrian Star was a man who lived a regular life, until he was taken in by a group of scientists in a shady organization; an organization which were conducting experiments on people and transforming them into mutants. The purpose of the experiments were to try and forcibly empower a person. They used 3 lightning Elemental Rings, 1 cyclone ring, and the prototype Weather ring. Their experiment was successful, but with this newfound power, he broke out and escaped the facility. He went into hiding ever since.

History

Thunder first started out as a bland yellow Sonic recolor with no personality. In fact, so did his brothers. the only differences were their shoes and eye color. And the fact that Electric and Zap were a darker gold color, and Zap was obviously shorter and younger looking. Zap was the most original looking one actually, solely because he was younger. Their only redeeming qualities at the time was the fact that they were sailors traveling the world, and writing a book about their adventures. That was new. Later on, they got their new looks. Thunder and Lightning still look exactly the same when you discredit their clothes. The only differences are their eye colors. Of course, that's because they are twins. His personality has developed well over the years. He's become a fine character now.

He was originally supposed to get an actual sailors outfit instead of his life jacket. It's now one of his alternate outfits.

The Young Captain of the Thunderbolt:

Adventures at Sea:

The Voyages of Thunder The Hedgehog: The first and only RP where Thunder was the main character. Thunder met a girl named Estrella Marina while he was returning from a sailing trip. He and his brothers ended up saving her from a group of thugs who were trying to kidnap her, and that lead them on a long adventure. Thunder finds out that she was a test subject for an organization which had gone wrong, and they had mutated all of their other subjects because she escaped. Thunder then vowed to take out every facility owned by them, and free the captives.

The Search for Marina: When Kyle's girlfriend goes missing, everyone bands together to form a search party. Eventually, they find some ominous clues, in which Thunder manages to use to gain a lead on where Marina's kidnapper had taken her. He then sets sail to the Frosted Isle, where they would find her locked in the dungeon of a mysterious, hidden base...

The End of the World?: Thunder and his crew discover a temple in the south pole, holding an evil artifact. As the crew examined the room, reading ancient inscriptions and mulling over old murals, they learn that the stone sitting on the altar before them is holding together a magic seal that held back an ancient demonic race that once invaded the world long ago. The artifact is suddenly stolen by a mysterious figure, and the world soon falls into chaos. As the gang struggles to survive, Thunder and Gizmo investigate the truth behind the artifact, the ancient race and what they can do to stop them. Thanks to his ship, Thunder was able to sail around the world to find the polar opposite to the evil red stone; a holy blue stone which held the power to destroy the creatures. He and the others discovered an ancient weapon which also had the power to stand up to them, and together with Gizmo, they found the ultimate solution to their problem.

Thunder's Mission: All the captives Thunder had freed from the Mobian Experimentation Facilities so far had been situated in a cave near Lake Lily, on the south-west corner of the Greenflower region. They all stayed hidden until the organization was taken care of. Meanwhile, Thunder continues his mission to wipe out the last of the facilities. During their next raid, Thunder and co. uncover some disturbing secrets about the goals of this organization. Soon afterwards, they are attacked at sea by an unknown elite force. They suspect that it was the same people, however, their technology was unlike anything they had ever seen before...

Jenny's True Enemies: Thunder takes Smash back out to the Frosted Isle in order for him to investigate the hidden base. Smash was looking into the dissapearance of Jenny, who was last seen heading up Mt. Frostbite. Thunder remembered seeing a strange ship take off from the mountain before, and was told by Smash to follow it if he saw it again. Smash went up the mountain on the island, and surely enough, Thunder saw another strange ship flying away from the mountain. He followed it as he was told, and eventually saw something drop from it and to the ocean. It was Smash, and he was heavily wounded. Thunder pulled him out of the water and tended to his wounds.
Once he awoke, Smash admitted that he withheld information from him, and that Jenny was already dead. He had just fought against her killer, who was a part of a large criminal organization called Skull Cross. He asked that Thunder keep this a secret from everyone, but the captain disagreed--at least until he heard Smash's full reasoning. He decided to keep quiet about it, under the conditions that Smash allows his further assistance.

Lightning The Hedgehog

Being his twin brother, They get along for the most part. They also share a bit of a sibling rivalry. Lightning has the stronger electrical powers, but seeing how he's the captain of his own ship, he feels even with Lightning. He's constantly annoyed with his brother's wild attitude.

Electric The Hedgehog

Thunder respects Electric as his older brother, but he still gives him orders when they're off sailing. They work together like partners. They both like to think rationally, which lets them be able to overcome problems together rather well. Whenever Thunder needs some advice on something, Electric is the first person he turns to.

Zap The Hedgehog

Thunder looks after Zap well. Not as closely as Electric does though. He takes care of him as he is the youngest by pretty far. Zap opens up to him-and is actually pretty talkative towards him.
