  • I feel really bad about not bringing this up until two weeks into the month, but I've brought this issue up twice in the admin skype group and never got a response about it. The short story is that I'm not going to be doing Featured Article and Featured User anymore, and seeing as how Mantis has seemingly dropped from our plane of existence, it looks like we're going to need to find a new interviewer. Note that we don't have to have one person do both; getting one person for each would be fine by me, if not more preferable.

    • I'd suggest Chames and/or Darkest Shadow for interviewing. As to who does what, that's up to you and them. If they even want to do it.

    • I can volunteer if no one else is interested.

    • Does it have to be an admin?

And if not, what requirements would need to be met in order to do either position (or both if the case ends up that way)?

No, they don't have to be an admin. I'll allow anyone to fulfill the roles as long as the wiki approves. As for requirements, I think just having been here for at least a few months is good enough.

Oh, okay. That makes sense. Perhaps we could create a list of potential candidates for both Article and User, then have a wikiwide vote on who should take which position. If a user doesn't want to have either postion, they can be taken off the list. Just a suggestion.

    • Even though it may not seem like it, I'm pretty much online 24/7 unless I state otherwise. I'd be willing to help with them.

    • So, what are we gonna do?

        Loading editor
    • I think we should probably form a team of users to manage the Featured Articles/Users. It can get stressful for one person to try to come up with 10 questions or so for both things each month, plus have a theme for Featured Article, AND come up with candidates to vote for.

I think a team of three or four should do it. It'd be much easier to rotate between people, or fill in for someone who can't make it in time. That and you can discuss ideas and such in a separate discord channel specifically for the features. That sounds nice to me. The only issue is finding people to fill the team.

What do you guys say to that, and who wants to join up for the Featured Management Team?

    • That sounds excellent, very organized and with 3 or 4 people, things could get done in a timely manner. I'm up for it.

    • I think it'll work out very well. It won't be so crazy with only two people trying to do both.

I'd like to join, if you'll have me.

    • Smash' idea sounds better, because someone needs access to the main page, regular users cannot edit the main page.

    • There should also be more ramps.

This isn't entirely an issue, as Featured Article and User are actually maintained on their own subpages of the main page (which aren't locked like the actual main page is, if I'm not mistaken). It's set up so that when edits are made on those pages (or at least on specific sections), they appear on the main page as well.

That's fine by me then, in that case I can volunteer.
