Thief is a useful elementless-based technique, allowing the user to help themselves to weapons, items and other objects on the target.
Description[]
In combat, Thief is typically used at the start of a match as a sneak attack from behind, with the user typically helping themselves to the opponent's strongest weapon. This is instantaneously followed by a light punch. In a crowded situation, this turns into an effective repeated-use technique when combined with dimensional storage - the target spins to see who struck them, allowing the thief to use the crowd to sneak back behind the target and perform the technique again, sending all that they steal into dimensional storage. It is also good on a large-scale battlefield in the hands of a spy, again with dimensional storage as an additional ability, often in the form of a satchel. In this case, enemy weapons are often stolen in the scrum, without allowing them to see that they are instantly missing their sidearms, or in some cases, their primary weapons, and anything else they may be carrying.
However, it is also seen outside of combat, typically in the hands of lowly pickpockets and youths, but also in the hands of the semi-legitimate buisness, The Pickup Merchants. In cases when the target is organic, the user can even steal the clothes the target is wearing, as long as the target is in an altered state of consciousness. Again, this combines well with dimensional storage, allowing for a greater number of targets.
However, targets with heightened senses, the genetic ability Sticky Hold and opponents who are truly alert are all capable of noticing and attacking the thief, making this technique rather risky to use.
