Chapter Twenty-Five: Hellhound[]
Thorn, Quartz, and Honey were walking to the library when they were approached by Elizabeth.
"I'm sorry about Aurum." she told Quartz.
"Why? Your pack killed her!" Quartz exclaimed.
"Quartz..." Elizabeth said. "She's not dead."
"What?" he asked in shock.
"Midnight told you that Robert threw the Leech Blade at her, right?"
"Um, yeah." Quartz said.
"Aurum was near more Nocturnus Clan technology. She grabbed a warp belt. She didn't disintegrate; she teleported away." Elizabeth explained.
"She's...still alive!" Quartz said in excitement.
"But..." Elizabeth said. "The Warp Belt teleported her to another time. And without the proper technology, Aurum can never come back from the new timeline she is in."
"Why are you telling us this?" Honey asked.
"I told you, I'm sorry she's gone." Elizabeth said. "And I don't agree with my pack's methods."
"Do you know anything about the Hellhound?" Thorn asked.
"Not much, but if I can convince Jonathon to come to a peace-meeting, then you'll find out more." Elizabeth replied.
"Thank you." Thorn said.
After she walked away, Honey said. "Am I the only one who doesn't trust her?"
"I don't know..." Thorn said. "She seems sincere."
"We should've had Rose here! She can tell when people are lying." Honey said.
"Right, I forgot." Thorn said. "She's one of the only few people who can read us like an open book."
"Yeah..." Honey said.
"Quartz, do you want me to go with you to tell Midnight?" Honey asked him.
"Sure. That would be nice." Quartz said.
Thorn told Rose, Kyle, and Cocoa about the prophecy and Elizabeth's news.
"The Revived? What could that mean?" Rose asked.
"I'm not sure..." Thorn said.
"I'll try to research this Five dead thing." Kyle said.
He went to the library.
"Rose, we need you to come with us to the meeting tonight." Thorn said. "You're the only one who can tell if they're lying."
"Of course." Rose said. "But only if Cocoa can come too."
"Why wouldn't you be allowed to come? You've helped us all out numerous times. Plus, we might need a healer." Thorn replied.
"Thanks, Thorn." Cocoa said.
Aurgentum was in her quarters when she felt a presence around her. She looked around, and began to scream.
That night, Omega Squad went to meet Alpha Squad outside the G.U.N. Fortress.
"How nice of you all to make it." Jonathon said.
Quartz looked on in anger at Robert.
"We just want to talk." Thorn said.
"So do we." Emily said.
"What do you know of the Hellhound?" Thorn asked.
"The Hellhound is a creature transformed by darkness. It is created in the Fields of Damnation by souls who give into the darkness around them." Jonathon said.
"So, it's a creature of the Netherworld?" Thorn asked.
"Yes. However, the Hellhound kills for strength, not for pleasure. It is fueled by vengeance." Jonathon said. "The Hellhound is going to become strongest on Hallow's Eve, the darkest night until the Winter Solstice."
"We have to stop it before then." Thorn said.
"Is it possible for us to work together?" Jonathon asked.
"It may." Thorn said. "But not yet."
A howl erupted from atop the hill the two squads were near. A black shape appeared on it, looking at them with gleaming red eyes.
"That....is the Hellhound." Jonathon said.
He, along with Robert, Emily, and Elizabeth began growling at it.
The Hellhound gave them a smirk, and disappeared into the shadows...
