The Bloodied Battle
Team Traverser walked out onto the battlefield with their reserve members, Dee and Cassie.
The one at the front looked around. Cassie, despite being the oldest, had never been in the arena before. "A-alright, let's try not to get killed out here..."
Link dashed about for a second, adjusting himself to running on sand for better performance. "I don't know about you guys, but I'm down for busting some heads!"
Dee stood behind Lee, peeking around him. "You think I'm ready?" She asked her "father". Lee smiled. "I know you are."
Amber stood on the other side of Link, getting ready to pop her blade. "Let's lock and load and hit the-- no, wait... that doesn't make sense in here."
The Powers Club walk in on the other side of the arena.
“Alright, spread out,” Natalie said “I’ll take Cassie.”
“I’ll take the black robot.” Carl replied.
“I call dibs on the marshmallow.” Angel said.
“I’ll take the brown guy,” Rugal continued “John?”
“The robot fox. Got it.”
“Ok, people,” Natalie said “Let’s do this.”
The organic members of TT all began to glow, which displayed a different effect for each of them.
Cassie tripled in size, standing at fifteen feet, Link sped up a bit and Lee just glowed for now.
The two androids popped weapons: A arrow-shaped blade for Amber and a sword for Dee.
Then they waited for their opponents to attack.
The air cools around Rugal has fire forms round his hands. John turns blue and his hands crackle with electricity. The group then charge forwards, making a beeline for the previously discussed targets. The only exception is Carl, who hangs back a little trying to hack into Dee.
What he'd feel at first it he entered her "mind" is waves of insanity held back by an avatar of Dee. Carl immediately flinched back, terrified at what he'd seen, but continued trying to hack in nonetheless. There was only one firewall, but it was coded strong. Meanwhile, the real Dee was rushing at Carl. Carl tries to break the firewall, but stops and ducks to the side when the real Dee gets near him. Dee cartoonishly did a flip, landing on the far side of Carl. Carl is surprised and staggers back, trying to hack into the firewall again. Dee changed colors, going from blue to purple, and flew towards Carl, trying to snatch him off the ground. She is successful in this attempt. She then flew upwards, holding him tightly.
Link rushed at Rugal, moving in a seemingly untrackable route. Rugal simple punches straight forward, assuming Link will be attacking in that direction. Rugal's fist clotheslined Link and knocked him to the ground. Rugal follows up by punching Link again. Link phase-shifted though Rugal, dodging the punch. The punch hits the floor and creates a small shockwave. Rugal continues to throw quick jabs at the untouchable Link. Link moves to catch a blow and knock Rugel backwards. This is successful, and Rugal is knocked back, although he manages to stay standing. Link performed a Soulblast next, a modified homing strike. Rugal punches Link as he flies at him, creating a shockwave that knocks both of them away. The HedgeLynx turned into a blur, coming back at more. Rugal uppercuts Lee, hoping too knock him away.
Cassie took a step forward, trying to kick Natalie across the arena. Natalie slides straight under Cassie's foot and uses her powers to psychically command Cassie to shrink down again. It worked, catching Cassie off-guard as she diminished to a size decided by Natalie, which was her normal height. Natalie then tries to punch Cassie. Cassie blocked, then threw a punch at Natalie's ribs. Natalie dodges to the side before following up with a hook to the jaw. Cassie stumbled, then did a spinning kick at Natalie. It lands and Natalie goes spinning to the floor. Cassie tried using her powers again, with Natalie distracted, but Natalie manages to use her powers and command Cassie to stay normal size. The size-shifter grunted in frustration then threw another punch. Natalie blocks the punch.
Amber jumped at John with her fists drawn for a fit of punching. John fires a blast of electricity at Amber, trying to knock her back. She blocked, causing the energy to go into her arms. Her eyes glitched for a second but Amber kept coming. John fires more lightning in Amber's direction. Amber reangled herself to kick John, and the electricity kept having little effect. The kick hits John and knocks him over, though he rolls and quickly stands back up again. Amber tries to grab and toss him, which works. John reverts back to his purple, powerless persona. Amber waits for him to get back up before attacking again. John stumbles to his feet.
Lee stood back, charging his SolTech. Angel shoulder tackles him to the ground, and if she succeeds follows up with a flurry of lightning fast punches. The hybrid rolled out of the way in panic and Angel fell to the floor, surprised Lee had been able to move that fast. Lee then jumped up and ran off, with Angel dashing after him. He stuck his hands out, and a matching sword and shield set form in his grip. Angel bombards the shield with punches. Lee eventually shoved back with the shield, trying to knock Angel off her feet. Angel staggers back for a moment. He slung his sword at the fox, giving a spin for repeated attacks. Angel dives backwards, just dodging the attack.
The Powers Club members (minus Carl, who's in mid-air) fall back into a group.
"Dang it!" Rugal shouted. "We're losing this!"
"We need to start teaming up," John replied. "We can't take them on alone."
"John, help me take down Cassie," Natalie said. "Rugal and Angel can take on Lee."
"The grey one?" Rugal asked.
"No, the orange kid," Natalie replied. "Let's go!"
Natalie and John both run towards Cassie while Rugal and Angel run towards Lee. Carl keeps desperately trying to hack into Dee. Dee huffed at Carl. "Don't make me drop you..." She notices her father getting whooped and aims Carl like an oversized projectile.
Lee pulled his shield to his front when two enemies came at him.
Cassie took a battle stance at her opponents.
Link and Amber took a few seconds to recover from their fights, leaving the other three to fend for themselves.
Rugal throws a punch at Lee's shield, denting it slightly if it connects. As Rugal throws his punch, Angel slides under the shield and tries to knock Lee's legs out from under him. Lee was hit by both and fell backwards. Rugal then started pummelling the shield, trying to break it. Lee threw the shield towards Rugal, knocking Rugal back, but Angel quickly spins round and kicks Lee to the gut. Lee is forced backwards, then Carl comes flying at Rugal and Angel. Rugal and Angel jump out of the way as Carl hits the ground hard. Lee charges and fires two Fury Blasts at Rugal and Angel in the confusion. Angel dodges relatively easily, but Rugal is knocked back. Carl manages to just stumble to his feet, although he's unlikely to stay up for much longer. Lee charges two more blasts, but waits for a close range chance. Rugal hangs back as Angel rushes towards Lee. The Hybrid waits until Angel is almost on top of him to let loose the blast. Angel manages to dodge even at almost point blank range thanks to her superpowered reflexes. Rugal starts running towards Lee now as well. Lee waits until Rugal and Angel are aligned, one in front of the other, to fire his second charge. Angel is already punching Lee before this can happen, seeing she was at point blank range before. Rugal tries to flank Lee by going to the left. Lee ducks under a few of Angel's punches and runs off, trying to lead the two away and charge up again. Angel runs after Lee with Rugal trying to cut him off. The Hybrid runs forward, then jumps into the air, a blue glow around his feet. Rugal tries to jump up and grab his ankle and pull Lee down. Lee is pulled down, getting slammed into the dirt. Rugal gets on top of Lee and pummels him rapidly before standing up again.
”No hard feelings, hey?” Rugal says.
Lee weakly holds a hand up, and a pillar of Nanites comes out of the ground underneath Rugal. Rugal is knocked upwards and Angel quickly kicks Lee to make sure he's down. Lee rolls away from her kick, and the pillar under Rugal begins to fall towards Angel. Angel swiftly dodges out of the way, but Rugal hits the ground hard, although he manages to get up. Lee jumps to his feet, hands at his sides. Angel and Rugal circle Lee, ready for any attack that might come their way. The Hybrid puts a hand on the ground, shooting bolts at the two. Angel dodges out of the way quickly and dashes towards Lee, trying to tackle him. Rugal isn't as lucky and gets knocked back. Lee flanks, allowing Angel to fly past him. He then spins to look at his daughter and her opponent. As Lee is distracted, Angel tries to sweep Lee's feet out from under him as Rugal gets back up. Lee is tripped, but launches a flurry of blast when he hits the ground. Rugal gets knocked back and even though the blast misses, Angel falls and lands on her back. Lee jumps to his feet, running towards Dee. Angel and Rugal get up.
"Go help Natalie," Rugal told her "I'll catch this marshmallow."
Angel nods and the two split up.
Meanwhile, John tries to tackle Cassie. Cassie tries to elbow him in the stomach and use the leverage to throw him. As John is thrown away, Natalie flanks Cassie and tries to kick her in the back. Cassie gets hit, but tried to grab ahold of Natalie's leg. Natalie gets grabbed and falls to the floor as John gets up again. Cassie tries to take Natalie out of the fight by throwing a few more punches. Natalie blocks the punches as best she can as John tackles Cassie.
John successfully knocks Cassie to the ground, causing the female to grunt aloud. "Guys, I need someone to take out the Natalie girl! She's dampened my powers!" Cassie manages to shout. John changes into his blue persona and starts bombarding Cassie with lightning. Cassie screams, trying to hit John and knock him off of her. John moves back out of Cassie's range.
Dee hears the screaming and jets towards John to help. Natalie notices Dee coming towards them.
"I thought Carl was dealing with the robot!" Natalie said to John.
"He was," John said. "Swap partners!"
John turns his lightning towards Dee while Natalie tries to use her powers to keep Cassie still.
Dee turns orange, activating strength mode and trying to come crashing down on John. The lightning crackles as it hits her plating and has no exit route, giving her a double strike. John naturally absorbs the lightning as Dee slams down on him, before releasing a massive electrical discharge. Dee blocks a large amount of the energy, but is stunned by the power that does hit her. She stumbles, trying to rebalance herself. Apparently John didn't move, so Dee aims a punch. John replies with an electricity charged uppercut to her jaw. Dee grips his hand, trying to flip him. As he gets flipped, John releases another burst of electricity to shock the Nanite Nomad. Dee glitches a bit before throwing John in panic. John lands a distance away and fires more electricity at Dee. Dee blocks, waiting for him to let up. John keeps putting the pressure on. So Dee keeps waiting. John stops firing the lightning, puts his hands on knees and starts breathing heavily. Dee turns yellow, boosting at him in order to knock John away. Just before Dee hits John, he smiles at her and performs a lightning-charged uppercut, aiming for her jaw (or at least where it would be). John's fist went straight through her face, emerging out the back. John pulls his hand out before throwing a punch at Dee's chest, following up with an electrical surge. Dee went down, throwing the voltage in every direction as her Nanites began to disperse. John is knocked back, landing on the ground with this feet. The android hovered in mid-air, falling apart. John stood there for a moment before changing to his neutral persona and running off. Lee rushes past him, reaching for his daughter, with Rugal hot on his tail. Lee grabs Dee's hand and she resolidifies. He then throws a shield up around them, making sure she's OK. Rugal tries to punch the shield, but John stops him.
"Give them a moment." The hedgehog says. Rugal nods and takes a step back. The two interact for a few seconds before Lee raises his hands at the group, ready to flex his fingers. Dee gets behind her father. Rugal dashes forwards and tries to punch Lee in the face. The shield turns into spikes, which fly at the group. John ducks, but Rugal gets hit and staggers back. Lee clenches his fist and the spikes stab into the ground around Rugal and John. Rugal and John dodge the spikes as best they can, with Rugal smashing a few with his fists. Lee grunted at his constructs being smashed, but turns the remaining ones back towards the group. John finally changes persona, becoming his grey form and creating two massive swords. He then slashes towards Lee, trying to break the constructs. Rugal simply backs away. Lee, in turn, creates a shield large enough to block the swords. John continues to batter the shield: it can't hold forever. Lee jumps back, while the surface of the shield becomes sticky, attaching itself to the swords. The spikes that had been busted previously turned into a glittering dust, flying back to Lee. John tries to pull the swords away while Rugal dashes after Lee. The shield seems to melt, wrapping around the sword handles and John's hands. Faced with a second threat, Lee generates two swords of his own and gets into a battle stance, Dee ducking behind him. Rugal lights his fist on fire and tries to punch Lee in the face. Lee swings the blades, the length of it melting and covering Rugal's fists like handcuffs, even linking together after forming. Rugal overheats his hands even more, trying to melt the handcuffs. Meanwhile, John changes persona to his blue form and unleashes an electric pulse, trying to break free of the nanites. The Nanites on John disintegrate, releasing him. The ones on Rugal, however, kept their grip strong. John fires several bolts of lightning at Dee and Lee while Rugal falls back. Lee raised another shield, which barely held against the lightning. John decides not to keep up the pressure, instead seeing if his lightning can break Rugal's handcuffs. The lightning worked, Rugal's handcuffs breaking apart like wet graham crackers. Rugal then dashes forward, covering his fist in flame and performing a lunging punch at Lee.
Lee ducked, allowing Dee to pass over him in a flying kick towards the polar bear. Rugal is caught of guard and hit by the kick, but as Lee ducks under Rugal John dashes forward under Rugal and Dee before hitting Lee with an electric uppercut. Lee is thrown upwards, crashing into the sand a few feet away. Rugal gets up and dashes at Dee while John chases down Lee.
Lee throws up a wall quickly, hoping it'll keep John busy. John fires a quick lightning blast at the wall, hoping that would be enough to take it down. It crumbles where John hit it, only to re-assemble a moment later. John decides to just go around the wall and fires a lightning bolt at Lee. Lee ducks under the blasts, running away after. John chases after Lee, firing lightning blasts as he goes. Lee jumps, doing his Nanite Charge move to throw himself up into the air. John fires a bolt of lightning straight upwards. Lee brings up a one-hit shield, releasing a large number of throwing knives once it had been destroyed by the lightning. John runs out of the way of the knives, firing lightning at any that gets too close. The knives fly past John, stabbing into the ground. Lee starts falling. John stays at range, firing lightning bolts at Lee. Lee continues blocking, trying to bait John near the throwing knives. John stays put, hoping to wear down Lee eventually. Lee keeps creating shield after shield, placing the two at a standstill for the moment. For a moment, John continues. Then he changes persona again, to a red one. His expression changes to a murderous look.
"Now we're talking," he snarls. Several spires of flame fire at Lee. The Fox ducked, changing gears to heavier defense. He didn't have to, seeing lightning did more damage, but it was to lull John into a sense of security. The fire curves back around and dives down at Lee as John advances. Lee "Eeps" and starts running towards John, trying to test something. John runs at Lee, both his hands on fire. Lee waits until the fire behind him and John are both pointed towards each other with him in the middle, then he uses the Nanites to launch himself into the air. John is caught of guard by this attack, being burnt by his own fire. However, he quickly gets the flames under control, the flames spiraling around him before becoming a pilar that shot up to the sky, aiming for Lee. Nanites quickly encased Lee in a protective bubble. He had a plan now, but first he had to get John back into his lightning mode. John kept firing his flames, hoping the shield would break at some point.
"Come out, marshmallow!" He sneered. Lee disassembles the shield, shooting a beam of Nanites straight down. John stops the flames and dashes away from the beams. Landing, Lee charged more blasts. At the moment, he was just trying to convince John that the fire wasn't very effective. The blasts hit John, knocking him down. Creating a hammer out of Nanites, Lee prepared to slam it down on John. John sides under the hammer's head and grabs the handle, trying to pull it away from Lee. The hammer snapped in two, the piece John was holding suddenly felt really heavy. John tried to drop that piece on Lee's foot before punching him with a fiery punch, Rugal style. Jumping back, Lee made the chunk of Nanites smack John in the face. John gets knocked back, seemingly staying on the ground. Lee re-absorbs the Nanites, waiting for him to get back up. John gets up and fires a sweeping arc of flame that travels low across the ground. Lee jumped a bit late, the soles of his shoes getting burnt off. A few seconds later, he just replaced them with a thin layer of SolTech. John throws rapid fireballs while advancing on Lee.
Lee starts ducking and dodging the blast, charging up his energy for a full-power blast once John was in range. John creates a sword of fire and swings it at Lee. Ducking under his opponent's blade, Lee unleashed the blast in the form of a flood of Nanites headed right at John. John was unable to dodge at this range and was blasted away. However, John changes persona again, a blast of electricity erupting from the nanites and allowing him to break free.
”Whew,” John said “Glad that guy’s gone.” Lee grins, running towards John with his left arm out. John fires a lightning bolt straight at Lee: the kid seemed to have a plan, but John had no idea what. Lee ducked under the bolt, getting close to John. Once near him, he'd do a Nanite jump and place his left hand on John's shoulder, on the side where his heart was. John is about to shock Lee when he realises what the plan is.
"Clever," John said "You're a smart kid, I'll give you that." John then tries to palm strike Lee in the face. Lee is hit, his nose getting busted open. John the tries to kick Lee away. Groaning, Lee grabbed John's foot. John tried to pull it free. Lee releases, but all his broken SolTech creations start flying to him. John moves out of the way to try and avoid being hit by these flying items. Screaming, Lee focuses all the SolTech Nanites into a single, miniscule blast aimed at John's chest. John doesn't see the blast due to how small it is and because he's trying not to be hit by flying junk. The blast was the size of a pin needle, but had the speed of a bullet, so whatever damage that would do, it did. John cltuched his chest as the blast hit: the velocity was all it needed to hurt. The tip of the blast changed into something resembling a grappling hook, and Lee yanked on it. John flew towards Lee, but quickly extended his leg to kick him once he was reeled in. Lee flanked right, forming a sword in his right hand and swinging it at John's chest. John narrowly ducked under the sword and sent a quick burst of electricity down the blade. Cutting the electricity short, Lee split the blade into two. The half he was holding formed a cannon around his hand, and he took aim. John moved away, making sure Lee wouldn't be shooting him point blank. A disc emerged from the cannon, moving like a high powered frisbee. If it hit John, it'd stick to him. John dived under the frisbee and fired another bolt of lightning at Lee. Lee threw up a small shield, which took the bolt. With his left hand, he pulled the disk back to him, trying to get it to stick to John's back. John turned round and fired a lightning bolt at the frisbee, ducking under it if that didn't destroy it. While his attention was on the disk, Lee fired three more. John fires multiple lightning bolts, hoping to destroy all the frisbees. They exploded into a smoke screen that quickly covered the area around him. John ran away, trying to get out of the smoke screen, although in truth he had no idea where he was going.
Using Onyx, Lee fired another disk at his back. John was hit in the back by the disk. He started firing of random blasts of lightning to at best disperse the smoke screen or at worst destroy the frisbee. The smoke screen dispersed, about the time the "frisbee" started beeping. With a loud noise, it exploded like a land mine. John was blasted straight into a wall. During his weak moment, Lee rushed in, swinging his blade. John couldn't block the blade in the state he was in, leaving a scar across his chest. Lee jumps back, letting John turn around. John runs towards Lee and tries to hit him with an lightning-charged punch. Lee ducked sideways, performing a spinning blade move once he'd passed. John rolls to the side and fires lightning bolts at Lee. Lee strafes, running back and forth to avoid the bolts. He changes one sword to a cannon and fires another disk. John dodges under it and runs at Lee, trying to tackle him. Lee jumps, placing his hand on John's back as he used him to escape his attack. John falls forward and rolls to get back up, waiting for Lee to make his move. The fox shot more disks, sticking to a certain attack pattern for now.
Dee's blue markings change color, signalling that she's in strength mode now. Rugal tries to throw a punch at her face. Dee catches his punch, spinning around to give him a quick smack in the back. Rugal gets knocked forward, but soon regains his composure and turns round to uppercut Dee. The punch hits, but it hurts both of them, since Rugal is punching metal. Rugal grabs one of Dee’s arms and tries to use his powers to melt it. The metal starts to melt, but before that, the chunk of arm he's touching falls apart. The heat from his hands is currently frying the Nanites that make up Dee's body, so the young android screams as loud as she can. Rugal then punches her in the face again, not removing his grip. Dee turns to dust, reforming a few yards away, and her tail is smaller, having to relocate Nanites to hold her form. Dee panics and starts to run. When Carl shows up, she's just confused.
“I wasn’t going to win against Amber, ok?” He said. He then tries hacking into Dee again. After her encounter with Rugal, Dee's systems are all glitched, making the hacking process much harder. Carl tries as hard as he can, though, and wondered if it would be better if Dee’s systems were always like this. Somehow, Dee began fighting back; new firewalls and codes were being generated by her. Carl continues, determined to break through them somehow: he'd seen this kind of stuff before when he first hacked Dee.
The hacker duel continued for a few moments, but Carl won. There was a lot of strange things flying through her systems, but her 'off-switch' wasn't anywhere in sight. Carl figured there might not be, seeing she was a living AI. He tried deleting a few pieces of code here and there, seeing if they had any effect. Nanites were falling off Dee, and because she was programmed to hold a specific form, she was visibly shrinking. The Android screamed again, raising in pitch as she lost more Nanites. Carl inserted code he hoped would mean Dee couldn't reform properly and stopped hacking her. Dee glitched for a few seconds, before reforming into what looked like a toddler version of her; the code had kinda worked? Carl left her be, debating whether the new version of the robot was cute or not. The small android stood up, wobbling. Carl had his back turned to her, but glanced over his shoulder to make sure Dee wouldn't fire a particle beam at him or something. She took a few steps, then sat back down to... Suck on her thumb. Apparently the code Carl had implanted had seriously screwed up Dee. Carl smiles at the extremely cute robot and keeps walking. Dee just sat there while he walked away.
Link zooms at the telepath from the side. Cassie grins at seeing Link trying to rush Natalie. Natalie has her powers focused on Cassie and doesn't notice Link coming and gets pushed to the floor. The Speedster tries to knock the Telepath out, but Natalie gets up and tries to reach for Links head to access his memories. She gets in, which causes Link to start swinging blind. Natalie gets behind Link and continues to scour his memory for anything she can use against Link.
What she found was a blur of images, varying from almost losing family to standing side by side against an army: but nothing to use against him. Cassie takes this opportunity to try and hit Natalie in the back. Natalie stumbles forward, losing her grip on Link's head. She then creates a katana with her illusion powers and swings it in an arc at Link, seeing she can't target 2 people at once. Link ducks under the katanna, aiming a punch at her under-arm. Cassie spins to the far side of Natalie and the two try and sandwich the telepath. Natalie gets knocked down, but quickly (if slightly shakily) gets up. Link tries a spinning kick. Natalie swings his katana at Link's leg that he's kicking with. Link gets cut and knocked down. Cassie tries to grab Natalie from behind and Natalie tries to elbow her in the jaw. Cassie gets hit, handing the metaphorical torch to Link, who throws a running punch at Natalie's stomach. Natalie gets hit and clutches at her stomach. Link follows it up by doing his wheel kick again. Natalie dives under it and tries to sweep Cassie's feet out from under her as she does so. Link landed back on his feet, unlike Cassie, who collapsed in a heap. Natalie gets up, breathing hard, and gets ready for another attack. Link moved to strike first with a blow to her stomach. Natalie is ready this time and blocks the punch before following up with one to Link's face. Link used the punch to do a full spin, which would hit Natalie with a weak kick, a tail slam and his scarf would slap her. Natalie is hit by everything except the scarf. She manages to grab the scarf and yanks Link forward, throwing a punch at his face. The Hedgelynx is hit, then Cassie strikes her from behind. Natalie is knocked down but creates another katana and tries to stab Cassie. Cassie ducks to the side, planting her foot on Natalie's hand in order to keep it down. At that point, Cassie is kicked in the back by Angel. The teenager is thrown forward, landing on Link, who screams. Natalie and Angel move back slightly, waiting for the two to get up. Link springs up, dashing at Angel in an attempt to punch the fox. Angel quickly blocks the punch and tries to spin kick Link. Link, who's fast all the time, catches Angel's foot and tries to spin her in the air. Angel gets spun round and hits the ground before going for a sweep kick to Link's legs. Link goes with it, using it to aim a spin kick at Natalie's head. Natalie reads his mind, giving her just enough time to duck under it as Angel goes in for a kick to Link’s head. Link catches the kick, an overrused but reasonably useful move, and attempts to flip Natalie. Natalie dodges back as Angel pulls her leg back and tries to punch Link.
Behind him, Cassie hobbles to her feet. Natalie looks round and sees Cassie. The depowered size-shifter lunges to punch Natalie. Natalie grabs the punch and tries to pull Cassie forward, following up with her own punch if it succeeds. Cassie uses the move to her advantage, slamming into Natalie at full force while making the sacrifice of being punched. Natalie has little time to react and is knocked away, rolling on the ground. Cassie is knocked down as well, and tries to see if her powers are back yet. Seeing Natalie isn't trying to stop her, they are back. However, before she can transform Natalie tries to elbow her in the face. Cassie stumbles back, taking a second to catch her breath. She doesn't use her powers just yet, as Natalie could easily rob her of them again. Instead, Cassie gets ready to block any incoming attacks. Natalie uses her illusion powers to make herself invisible to Cassie, running behind her and kicking her in the head. Cassie tumbled forward, gripping some sand in her black-furred fists. Natalie became visible again and tried to stomp on Cassie's other hand, unaware the other one had sand in it. Cassie dodged the stomp, flipping over to where she was facing up and flinging the sand at Natalie's face. Natalie staggers back, trying to blink the sand out of her eyes. Cassie jumps up, growing to about 20 feet before giving Natalie a swift kick. "Sorry if this hurts a lot, but I need to end this quick!"
"What the heck do you-" Natalie mutters, still trying to blink the sand out, before being kicked straight into the wall. Cassie watched the wall, waiting to see if Natalie was still in the game. Natalie stands up, although she's clearly badly hurt. Cassie sighs, walking over and trying to push Natalie over and win.
"Oh, f-" is all Natalie can say before she's knocked to the ground, unconscious. The Fox Hybrid stands back up, looking over to Link and Angel. She grimaces at her brother's situation, dashing that way to help him.
Link catches Angel's blow, trying to flip his opponent this time. Angel is spun round, but rights herself at super speed and spins round to sweep attack Link while still on the floor. Link does a slight hop, jumping over the attack. "You think you're faster than me?"
"Absolutely," Angel replies. She finishes the sweep attack and spins around again, bring her leg up so she does a spin kick to Link's side. Link blurs, the kick passing through him completely.
"You might want to rethink that."
Angel stands up and gets in a fighting stance. Link still stands about a foot away from her. "See, this'll be much more fun." Angel dashes at Link, throwing a fient punch before quickly switching into a kick. Link ducked under the kick, bringing his arm up to throw Angel off her balance. Angel caught her leg on Link's hand, using her momentum to spin round and kick Link with her other leg. This... actually hit, shaking Link up. Angel then pulls her legs around Link's neck and pulls him into a triangle choke.
Gotta admit, I'm not exactly used to this... She thought to herself.
"Oh gosh this is a weird position..." Link muttered, trying to break free. After some light punches to her kneecap, he started vibrating again. Angel passes right through him and rolls on the ground, going directly through him and trying to elbow him in the back of the head, hoping Link had stopped vibrating. Link stopped, seeming to be in shock from the surprise hit. Angel then follows up with several lightning fast punches before performing a spin kick to Link's head. Link seems to have burned up all his endurance and is just getting smacked around by Angel.
Let's finish this. Angel thought to herself. She goes in to grab Link. If she grabs him, Angel spins him round at such a speed that they both start to blur before throwing him upwards. On his way down, Angel grabs him again, jumps up, throws him towards the ground and divekicks him (essentially her Finishing Strike from Disaster Club).
Link instead actually lands on the ground, jumping back up before Angel can finish her finisher. "Y-you thought you'd beat me that easily?" Despite his sudden revitalization, Link was running out of steam quickly. Angel divekicks downwards anyway, landing in front of link, before dashing forward at lightning speed and firing rapid kicks at him. Link dashes to behind her, firing off a kick at her back. Angel spins round quickly and elbows him in the face. He gets hit, falling down and getting beaten. About that time, Cassie arrives, trying to scoop up Angel in one hand. Angel is scooped up and begins to run up Cassie’s arm. With an angry grunt, Cassie tries to grab Angel and hold her. As Cassie tries to grab her, Angel jumps up onto Cassie's finger and starts pummelling it, hoping to do some kind of damage. Cassie giggles lightly, it felt like a step or two above a mosquito bite. Rolling her eyes, she moves to grab Angel. Angel uses this chance to jump back onto Cassie’s main body and dashes up onto her shoulder.
Cassie full-on growls, trying to snatch up the comparatively tiny fox. Angel’s size and speed allow her to avoid Cassie’s massive hands, and eventually climbs up her face and starts pummelling Cassie’s eye. Cassie screamed, instinctively swatting the area like she would if a bug was on her face. Angel grabs on to the hand and use it to jump over to the other eye and begins pummeling that one. Yet again, a giant hand would come swinging towards Angel. Angel just keeps using the hand to change position, moving fast enough to avoid Cassie's massive hands.
Cassie huffed, placing her hands on her hips and growing to maximum size, hoping Angel would just wear herself out punching the now much larger Cassie. Angel kept going, but was starting to slowly run out of stamina. "You done yet?" Cassie asked.
"Nope," Angel replies, still pummeling.
"Alright."
Angel keeps pummeling. Eventually, she stops to take a breather on the top of Cassie's nose. Cassie just lets her do that, knowing any attack at this size would squish Angel. Angel just relaxes for a while, safe in this knowledge, although she stays on guard for any surprise attacks.
"Just let me know when you're done, I guess." Cassie said, somehow smiling.
"I'm done for now." Angel said between laboured breaths. Cassie plucked Angel off her nose, being as gentle as possible. Angel lets her do it.
"Guess this means I win, unless you wanna punch me some more?"
Angel shrugs "I mean, I'm still standing, I guess."
Cassie shrugged. "Up to you, I can take a beating right now."
Angel gets up "Fine, your move."
Cassie set Angel back on her nose. "Eh, go ahead and wear yourself out."
Angel sat there for moment, considering her options. The fox just stood there, making sure Angel didn't fall.
”Hey,” Angel said “Mind putting me down.”
"No, I don't." Cassie bent over, setting her down gently. Angel then goes to pummel Cassie’s foot. Cassie just looks down at her. Angel keeps going.
"I'd close the gap between us, but I just want this to be over." Cassie said. Angel stops.
"Do you mean you want to concede?" She asked Cassie.
"No, I mean, you did beat my brother unconscious. What I mean is I'd rather you give up or wear yourself out than force me to kick you across the arena."
"Hey, they've got good medics at this place. I'll be fine, so will Link, so will Natalie."
Cassie shrugged. "I know, but it'd kinda push the whole 'being giant makes you violent' nonsense. I'd really much prefer it if I tanked everything you can throw at me."
"Why are you even in this fight, then?" Angel asked.
"Mainly to make sure my siblings don't get mutilated."
"How would you do that without your powers?"
"I don't know, mayb-- are you trying to distract me?"
"Not intentionally."
Cassie sighed. "Oh, sorry. Um, I'd basically try and help them whenever I could."
"I guess Carl's the same, really. He could only really take out Dee, we had no idea Amber could resist technopaths."
"Hmm. So... I guess I'll just let you punch me."
"But I can't take you down like this, and if you don't want to attack we're at a bit of a stalemate."
"I suppose... I don't know what to do."
Angel sits down "We could call it a draw?"
"I guess. That'd probably be for the best, unless one of my two surviving siblings comes after you."
"Or my friends come after you. Let's wait and see what happens."
Angel then walks off. Cassie walks over to Toddler Dee, lifting her up.
Amber walks up to Carl, who hasn't moved since Dee threw him. "You OK?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," Carl replies.
"That's good, I'll give you a few seconds to recuperate." She tells him. Carl just lays there for a while, Amber slips her headphones onto her ears, rocking back and forth to music.
After a few turns minutes, Amber looks to him. "Ready?"
Carl nods, before making Amber's headphones play ear-splitting white noise. She takes them off, scratching her head. "Oooooooh, wait." She stands up, walking away from Carl. Carl looks rather confused, and then starts running as fast as he can. Amber turned to him, also confused. "Aren't you gonna... attack or something?"
"I'M A TECHNOPATH WITH NO WEAPONS FIGHTING SOMEONE RESISTANT TO TECHNOPATHS!" Carl shouts back "DOES IT LOOK LIKE I CAN ATTACK?"
Amber didn't reply, just stared at him. Carl just keeps running. She simply lets him run up to her. Carl runs right past Amber. She blinks, then spins to watch him. He just keeps running. The Android just watches him. Carl eventually runs into the wall, and then starts running around the perimeter. Amber eventually sits down again. Carl keeps on running. The Razor-Fox decides to wait until Skyblade executes his plan.
"I don't have a plan," Skyblade tells her. Amber continues to sit, and Carl continued to run. She got bored very quickly and began watching the other matches. As she is doing this, Carl walks up to her.
"Can I join you?" He asks.
"Hmm? Oh, sure." She smiles, all evidence of the fights around them devoid from her face. Carl sits down next to her.
"How did you do that?" He asks "Getting rid of the dirt and everything, I mean."
"Dirt? You mean why I'm not mad?" Amber replies, cocking her head slightly.
"I...don't know what you mean?"
She plucked the text containing Carl's question out of thin air, holding it up where he could see. "I was asking what you meant by 'dirt'."
"Just...stuff. The mess you were covered in due to the battle."
"Oh... this is non-canon, so my recovery time is a good bit faster. I... don't blame you if you don't understand." Amber shrugged.
"Non-canon?" Carl repeated "Like the Broly movies?"
"I... suppose... Dragon Ball is what you're talking about, right?"
"Yeah, they are. Haven't you seen them? I mean, if you want to get in to Dragon Ball, Kai is a really good place to start, way better than Z no matter what anyone tells you, but on the off chance you're a Dragon Ball fa-you're not a Dragon Ball fan, ok, got it."
"Yeah... Not exactly my cup of tea... Sorry," She apologizes.
"I don't blame you, you either love it or you don't, simple as that."
"So... I guess we have to fight... unless you want me to let them tackle you." Amber waves at her siblings. "I'm not sure if surrender is an option."
Carl shrugs "I guess so."
She stood up. "Don't worry, I won't use any of my fancy stuff."
”I guess I won’t use any of mine, then.”
Amber shrugs. "Not like it'd do you any good," She waited for his to go first. Carl just sits there, thinking.
"Hey, Rugal," He shouts "Mind taking this for me?"
Rugal turns back from his battle with Dee and shrugs.
"Sure," He said. Carl turns back to Amber.
"It's been nice talking." He said "We should do this again sometime. When we're not fighting, I mean. Bye!"
Carl runs over to Dee as Rugal throws a firey punch at Amber. Amber caps the punch with her own fist, her pure metal plating taking the heat without repercussion. Rugal doesn’t remove his hand and tries to uppercut Angel with the other. Amber briefly wonders how Angel got here, but quickly figures out that's supposed to be her. The punch barely phases Amber, but would give Rugal some pain. Rugal winces at punching metal: he’d expected Amber to be made of the same nanites as Dee. Instead of continuing punching he falls back, drawing heat away from Amber and cooling the air around her to bellow zero.
Amber just moves.
Rugal keeps the area he's cooling around Amber, making it so cold that any kind of metal would likely turn brittle while he stores a huge amount of heat for any followup attacks.
The android's running speed began getting slower and slower, until she just stood there shivering. "C'mon... stupid core... work for once, do something!"
Rugal then envelopes his hand in flame and dashes forward, before jumping up and trying to bring his fist down on Amber's head.
Amber still tried to resist, switching positions to kick Rugal in the stomach. While she did this, her outer layer of armor cracked and fell off in places. Rugal gets knocked back, but he roles and gets back up before running at Amber again. Amber threw a punch, costing her the black covering over her fingers. Rugal gets knocked to the floor, but quickly gets up and throws a punch at Amber's chest. He hit the glass cap to her core, which cracked.
"Ok, maybe now it'll do something!" She said, throwing another kick. Rugal caught the kick and threw Amber to the side, not noticing the cracked core yet. The glass cracked further, starting to release energy. Rugal doesn't notice this and goes for another punch. This punch shattered the glass, unleashing a solid wave of energy before it went into repair mode. Rugal is blasted away by this wave of energy, having nothing to guard against it.
The blast subsided, some of Amber's damage reversed. Rugal gets up slowly, hurt from the blast.
"Well," He said "I didn't expect that."
"Honestly, neither did I. Last time it healed me fully, guess the man upstairs is trying to keep my stats within reason."
"The man upstairs? As in the Lego Movie?"
"No, I mean the guy controlling my actions with my consent. You have one too, he's British." Amber giggled.
"I think I'd know if some British chick was controlling me."
"If you say so."
Rugal than ran towards Amber and tried punching her in the face. Amber caught the punch, moving in close to swipe his legs out from under him. Rugal falls down, but quickly grabs Ambers legs and tries to either pull her down or pull it off entirely. She fell down with a shriek, hitting the ground hard enough to crack the armoron the back of her head. Rugal tried to punch Amber in the chest, aiming for near the core: he didn’t want a repeat of last time. Amber grabbed his fist, pulling him in close before slinging a punch at his face. As the punch hits, Rugal throws his own punch at Amber’s face. Amber stumbles backwards, almost falling down. Rugal follows up with an uppercut. Amber goes flying, the white plating on her muzzle completely broken. Rugal stays still, breathing heavily: the explosion had clearly taken it's toll on him, even if he was still standing.
Amber shouts something, and runs straight at Rugal. Rugal also shouts something and runs straight at her, his fist becoming covered in blue flame. The Razor-Fox tries to dropkick Rugal, spinning on one leg. Rugal jumps over Amber and tries to smash his fist down into her face.
Amber ducks right, aiming a punch at his stomach again. Rugal is thrown away, but quickly rolls to get up. Amber tries to grab his leg and throw him. Rugal quickly grabs Amber's arm and tries to use his flaming hands to pull his leg free. With burning an immediate threat, she proceeded to try and slam Rugal into the ground. Rugal was pushed down but kept his grip strong, even if the position was a bit odd for him. For the moment, Amber was just trying to slam him into the ground a lot. After a few slams and being unable to pull his leg free, Rugal got bored and smashed Amber's upper arm with his fist, using his other arm to pull himself up a bit.
Amber's arm plating shattered, exposing the machinery inside. She quickly attempted to throw him before he could strike her weak spot. Rugal was thrown away, but quickly got back up and dashed towards Amber. Amber popped her blade, waiting for Rugal to get close to perform an upward slash. Rugal tries to punch Amber in her exposed chest, once again near the core. She swung as he did so, the two fatal moves flying towards their targets. Rugal struck Amber, completely shattering the glass cover. Rugal just manages to block Ambers other Attack with his forearm.
Desperate, Amber shifts positions, trying to impale him on her blade. Rugal goes for a similar last ditch move, trying to rip Amber's core out. He got a good grip on the shining metal orb, but this put him in a position where Amber could easily run him through. Rugal yanked hard, hoping to rip the thing out completely and throw it out of Amber’s reach before she could stab him. Her entire chest plate came loose, complete with the pseudo fur that covered it. Amber went ahead and swung. Rugal jumped back, enough so he wasn’t completely run through but he was still hurt by the sword, leaving a gash across his chest. He stumbled back, the combination of the explosion and the sword having done a huge amount of damage.
As Rugal falls back, Angel arrives, trying to kick Amber in the back of the head. Amber was knocked down, confused. Angel then follows up by trying to kick Amber in the chest. if this was succesful, she'd follow up with several punches to the head. The attacks hit, denting Amber. She rolled over, trying to get up before Angel swung again. As Amber gets up, Rugal tries to punch Amber through the chest from behind, clutching the gash on his chest on with his other hand. Whether Rugal hits or not, Angel goes for several rapid kicks to Amber’s head. Amber ducked to the left, trying to avoid both but getting struck by some kicks. Angel follows up by sliding under Amber and trying to knock her off her feet. If successful, Rugal would uppercut her before Angel would kick her again. Both hit, throwing the Android onto the ground. Angel tries to kick Amber while she’s still down. The kick left another dent in her head. Angel walks away, ignoring the heavily damaged Amber.
"You ok?" She asked Rugal.
"I can manage," Rugal replied, although his previous battle with Amber had clearly taken a lot out of him. Amber holds up a finger in protest against... Something. She struggles to get up, falling down a couple times. Angel and Rugal ignore her as Carl walks over and sighed, looking at Amber.
”Don’t worry,” He tells her “The arena brings people back to life. Besides, this is all non-canon anyway.”
Amber grimaced, running towards Carl.
"I didn't mean it in a bad way, I swear!" He replied, slightly shocked by Amber's reaction. Angel then gets between them before Amber can react and tries to punch her in the face. The punch broke Amber's left eye, but didn't slow her momentum any, so she kept coming.
