I most likely will not write Splice's story until much later. I have my reasons. Spoilers.~Smash The Echidna~ 20:23, April 6, 2010 (UTC)
I'm thinking I should probably make a page for Clara. Still debating on this matter, though. Also, I never did put Splice's full story up there. And I probably won't anytime soon.~Smash The Echidna~ 01:15, December 29, 2010 (UTC)

Æon meets Splice[]
(Æon The Cat is my new main character, replacing Cold) (Setting:You choose)
Æon:Hmph.
(yeah, real nice starter there.)
Splice casually strolled down the streets of Green Flower city. He held his hands behind his back and watched the clouds in the sky, whistling a little tune with barely a care in the world.
Æon:(Looks over)
Splice didn't seem to notice him. He began to head into the local park, still whistling casually.
Æon:(Charges a blast and launches it in the air)RAAAAAAA!
That caught his attention. He jumped up, snapping out of his once cheery, carefree mood. He immediately looked behind him, and saw the blast being shot into the air. Confused, he watched it as it ascended towards the sky.
Æon:I half to be stronger than Cold, that fool,I will kill him one day!
Splice looked down towards Æon, and scratched his head. "huh?" Though he was too far away to really make out what he was saying, he could tell that he wasn't in a good mood.
Æon:Dammit,IF I FIND HIM!
"Hey!" Splice shouted at him. "What's your beef, eh? Don't go shooting blasts randomly like that, You could hurt someone!"
Æon:Hmph, well I'm going to kill Cold the Hedgehog when I find him!?
Splice scratched the side of his head. "Why in the heck? Who's head are you after?"
Æon:He screwed up my future.
"WHO di-y'know what, why am I even bothering to ask." Splice sighed. "It's none of my business." He turned around and walked back towards the park.
Æon:(Gazed at the odd colored hedgehog)Wha?my friend why do you look like that?
Splice ignored him this time, and continued to walk into the park.
Æon:He could hear me.
Æon The Cat:He has great power.
Review VegasFox[]
I'm going to do these shorter than I usually do because I know I have a tendecy to go off and I have a lot to do by tonight XD
Positves
- Okay firstly Splice is absolutely adorable XD I love his little outfit and everything <3
- He has a very balanced personality, it isn't going back and forth and you keep it straight-forward and realistic.
- I didn't read anything saying "Spoilers Ahead" XD but I HAVE seen him in action in RP's sometimes and I absolutely adore him, he's like comic-rellief and a helping hand all in one <3
Negatives
- Okay well, the one of the things that's irking me is that he is WAY too similar to Sonic >w> I mean, he already has fire and ice powers I think he could go without the super speed even if he IS slower than Sonic, and chili dogs being his favorite food? C'mon Smash XD although that's just personal opinion. And you know how I am with designs XD His coloring and quills and eye color, it's ALL too similar to Sonic's XD I mean you're creative I would think Splice's design would have a bit of a more "different" feel to it, I mean I would always be glad to help out at all if you needed it and while I LOVE the outfits he wears, his overall design is way to close to Sonic's >W>
I mean, all together I adore and love Splice, but his design and likes are way too close to Sonic's which is something I had to point out, you've had this character for awhile though and I know probably changing anything as far as that would mess up your stories, so I'm only going to tell you what I think now <3
I give him a..... 4.5/10 A cool and cute character, but the originality is lacking a bit and knowing how creative you are Smash you could do something about it if you really wanted to :D
VegasFox 01:38, February 28, 2012 (UTC)
I know that the design and all is something that needs work. Believe me, I tried. But I really couldn't come up with anything that fit. I gave him longer quills, but that was as far as I'd gotten. I would appreciate any kind of help for a new design, though. I'm always open to new ideas for him. I just really couldn't find a way to handle his quills. His eyes should stay green, though. I made them green for different reasons--Absolutely no intentions of matching them with Sonic's. (In fact, while I was spriting him, Splice's eyecolor is actually brighter than his.) So yeah.
Super speed also irked me, and I mentioned that before. I'd really actually like to remove it altogether, but it would cause a lot of problems in my series if I removed it. I mean, he's had it since he was first made. So I tried to keep it down as much as possible.
His favorite food isn't Chilidogs, btw. He just loves spicy food in general, and Chilidogs and Hotlinks are both very easy to come by where he lives. ~Smash The Echidna~ 02:50, February 28, 2012 (UTC)
In anycase, thanks for the review. The main things I can't really fix very easily are his speed and design. I'd love to take another stab at a new design, though honestly his current one has grown on me. Everything else is minor and could be fixed. Thank you. ~Smash The Echidna~ 03:03, February 28, 2012 (UTC)
I just realized that Splice's birthday is a day before mine XD It's Aisy the Rabbit File:Ais.png 22:18, May 11, 2012 (UTC)
Oh really? That's interesting. lol. ~Smash The Echidna~ 22:24, May 11, 2012 (UTC)
Uhh, I just have a question about Splice's twin gladius daggers; just how do they stand/ match up to a sword? I'm just confused (as well as curious :3), as it doesn't state even why it/ they can. Spriter - Sword - Studio 09:48, May 29, 2012 (UTC)
Ah, that was a short description taken from the game. In the game, the Gladius is the strongest dagger weapon you can get by normal means. It was said to be able to match up to a sword in terms of strength and durability, and could be used effectively against sword wielders if not for the range. Also, Gladius means Sword in latin.~Smash The Echidna~ 11:11, May 29, 2012 (UTC)
Ah, though I thought that a dagger didn't simply have enough leverage to fight properly against a sword, though two could, and quite effectively as well. I'm fine about the other things, as it is physically possible for a (well-made) knife to make a notch in a sword possible. Spriter - Sword - Studio 14:55, May 29, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, that's probably why both he and the man he got them from dual wielded them. ~Smash The Echidna~ 14:57, May 29, 2012 (UTC)
Yush, good thinking, though I'd hate to him, when going up against a person with a axe... That'll just end up messy... I think I've read far too many books. (>.>) Spriter - Sword - Studio 14:58, May 29, 2012 (UTC)
Hilarious you should say that. He ended up fighting a guy with an axe in a tournament both last year and the year before. Barely ended well. To quote Splice, "Thank GOD for Ringouts." ~Smash The Echidna~ 15:00, May 29, 2012 (UTC)
Eeyeah, I only came in Sept last year,so I have no idea what tournament you are talking about. :3 Wait, is that putting it lightly? Because... Uh, I lost the plot again. ^^; Spriter - Sword - Studio 15:09, May 29, 2012 (UTC)
Well you needn't worry about that because it was hosted on a different site. ~Smash The Echidna~ 15:16, May 29, 2012 (UTC)

Made this for you early this morning. There's definitely room for improvement, but do you like it?
PhysTheEchidna (talk)
00:45, June 18, 2013 (UTC)
Hey, I didn't know you were an artist. =O
That's...That's not bad, actually. I mean yeah there's definitely room for improvement, but it's enough to surprise me.
If I may give a bit of criticism (if you still plan to draw things from time to time,) Splice's knee is a little too high. It's around thigh height when it should be in the center of the leg. The gem on his left hand (your left, his right) is too small, and both should have another circle around it for the base it sits in. (yes, the base is important too.) His head is the main issue though, as the quills are long and wavery, almost like squid tentacles. Though that top quill is perfectly shape, I must say.
Splice's quills have a complicated design, so I wouldn't blame you if you couldn't get it down even after 4 tries. His bottom two quills slant upward slightly, while his top one slides down behind them and isn't shown sticking out like the others. He also has two side quills that hang from the sides of his head. This is the part that's hardest to get down without looking weird. Thing is, they're a little flat, so from the sides they look kind of wide.
As for the hair, you're the one person who got the "hair under the ear" thing down correctly. Granted, that was my fault in the first place due to skipping that part in his looks section on the page, but still. However, the hair's too long. The one under his ear should be leaning more toward his face than his side (unless that's because he appears to be moving in that pose--then that's fine.) And the hair in the front is way too long. It's supposed to hang just above his eyes; this is almost touching his nose. It should also be a little bit...hm, 'poofier' for lack of a better word. Thicker. It's pretty thin there.
On the plus side, you got the hair under the right ear. Nice job paying attention to detail. =P And his face (eyes, nose, muzzle) looks just right, and that expression is totally in character. His vest is a little long, but other than that (and the gloves) his outfit's pretty spot on. I also noticed you tried to use his post-victory pose. That's a plus, as well.
All in all, nice job. This was a pleasant little surprise. Thanks. =) Also, I hope you weren't offended by the critic up there. It's hard to give constructive criticism and not make the person feel bad.~Smash The Echidna~ 01:02, June 18, 2013 (UTC)
Absolutely not, in fact I embrace criticism with open arms here. It's better than saying "Yep, good job, now let's move on". Besides, I've kinda been criticizing you on your loops (which I consider quite rude of myself) so really it's only fair XD.
The knes, hair size, etc. are kinda what I meant by "room for improvement" (although I have a thing for making hair and spines longer; it's just what I do XD). When it says that the spines curvred slightly upwards I looked at your sprites in the same section, and it looked like they went downwards first. So the "wavy tentacle spines" are actually normal spines curving upwards at the tips. Now I think what you mean is that they stick straight outwatds and then they curve slightly upwards like Shadow's spines, right?
Those spines hanging down the side of his face are my attempts for the flat side quills, not that I knew they were flat at the time. Is that what you mean by side quills, or is it something else? And while we're on the topic of spines, does Splice have any spines on his back? I drew one there just in case, but...
As for his hair, you just explained it all very well and I'm sure I can fix all of that. His clothes obviously are easy to fix, and I'll make his knee lower because it is a bit high (his knee is high... XD) even though the bottom part of the leg is supposed to be longer than the thigh.
Get back to me on those questions, and then I'll go wear down another eraser (I swear those things become too small to use after every drawing ;_;) ;). PhysTheEchidna (talk)
12:41, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

Example: See how his quills flow upward, while his top one smooths in to the center. (Small spike at the top is optional.)
I think it would be best to take a look at this and his page picture for reference on his quill-shape. The sprites can sometimes be inaccurate because I took them from what was supposed to be an animation with his quills flowing up and down, (Case in point: his battle stance.) and thus they look like they're pointing down in some. His page picture pretty much captures his quill-style dead on. But the side-quills and hair aren't accurate though. See the example to the right for what I mean.
For everything else, take a look at his ref. picture.~Smash The Echidna~ 18:23, June 18, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. Those really helped. I think I'm 97% clear on Splice's looks now. How's this? PhysTheEchidna (talk)
13:49, June 19, 2013 (UTC)
MUCH better. Only thing is that the quills could use to be a little shorter. Other than that, it's pretty good.~Smash The Echidna~ 17:20, June 19, 2013 (UTC)
So you mean there's nothing wrong with it, apart from the short spines? X) :D Yay!
Just to make absolutely sure (I'm that kind of person), are the buckles on the insides of his shoes there, or are they only supposed to be on the outside? And also, he doesn't have any spines on his back, right? PhysTheEchidna (talk)
00:35, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
The buckles are fine, and no his back-spines shouldn't be visible. (They're small and concealed within his clothes.) His quills are the only thing wrong this time around. Just a little shorter, (the little spike at the top included. It's a bit too noticeable.) and it should be just fine!~Smash The Echidna~ 00:38, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
Well, they should be short enough for your likings now.
I used the colors from your reference sheet. I've only just learnt to use the curve tool, so it might be a little awkward in some places, but it's better than tracing over it with the mouse like I used to when I didn't know how to use the curve tool, and it's definitely my best computerized picture so far :D.
Well, there you go. Enjoy :). PhysTheEchidna (talk)
14:24, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
Great! Wonderful! Nice job, Phys!
Thanks a bundle. I can go ahead and put this right on his main page. Unless you wanna get it shaded first. (If you're not feeling up to it then I can always ask around to see who else can do it.)~Smash The Echidna~ 17:54, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
^.^ No problem! I'm glad you like it!
Here's the thing. I've never ever shaded anything in my life before. I can give it a shot if you like, but it'll likely turn out unsatisfactory. And plus, I don't have good art soffware. I use a crappy MS paint clone (if you can even call it that) to computerize all my drawings. I could do it on that, but it'd turn out better if I drew the shading on the picture before computerizing the thing again, and it's probably not worth all that.
So yeah. Choice is yours. PhysTheEchidna (talk)
