Surge the Hedgehog is a 16 year old, blue and white, anthropomorphic hedgehog, he is a laid-back and

cool-headed character, who loves to fight for good, have fun and have adventures.  Surge can move at the speed of sound (and exceed this) with lightning fast reflexes to match, and can roll up into a ball, primarily to attack enemies.  He can also use chaos powers and telekinetic powers.

Surge currently lives in Mobotropolis with his parents and his adopted brother, Swift the Hedgehog.  He works at Uncle Chuck's Chili dog Stand whenever he's not fighting Eggman or any other villain.  Surge will go to Mina Mongoose's concerts to listen to her music and he'll occasionally listen to Nikki "Nikkell" the Hedgehog's music (just to play hard-to-get)

Surge mostly goes adventuring with Swift, Sonic, Shadow and Silver.  He loves going on adventures that get him into trouble and danger.  And sometimes he has to get Swift out of trouble.    

History

Surge lived with his parents for six months (exactly eight months before the first Robotnik war) before he was kidnapped by Mephiles the Dark and taken to the future (exactly two hundred years into the future) he was taken in by Swift's parents.  A year later, Swift was born and the two became friends instantly.  As the two grew up, they would pretend to fight Iblis and the two would start small plays and would perform them in front of Swift's parents.  When Surge was fifteen and Swift was fourteen, the two wandered outside and soon got lost in Crisis City.  That's when they had their first real fight with Iblis.  The two were almost defeated when Iblis brought help.  Surge and Swift were able to defeat him when Surge was able to realize he had speed, chaos powers and telekinesis.   When they returned back to their house, they soon found out that Iblis Takers had kidnapped Swift's parents.  They lived alone for a few weeks until a few weeks later Nikki knocked on their front door.  When Nikki met Surge she developed a on him crush and after a few days, she started calling him her "Boyfriend" Surge and Swift started fighting Iblis on a regular basis.  Eventually during one fight, they met Silver the hedgehog and Blaze the cat.  Nikki didn't really like Blaze, fearing Blaze would have Surge's affections.  After their battle, they met Mephiles.  At first Surge didn't trust Mephiles, Knowing he seemed familiar, but in the end, Surge decided to trust Mephiles.  All six of them (Surge, Swift, Silver, Nikki, Blaze and Mephiles) were transported to the past.  When Surge met Sonic, Surge tried to destroy him, thinking he was the Iblis Trigger.  After their first battle, Swift came to Surge's rescue and told him to stop.  Sonic then went through time and space with Surge and Swift, to show the truth.  Later, Surge, Swift, Sonic, Shadow and Silver teamed up and went super to destroy Solaris.  Unfortunately Mephiles survived, thanks to him tampering with the past.  After Solaris was destroyed, the second Robotnik war started.  Surge eventually found his parents and met Mina Mongoose.  He soon developed a crush for Mina but he found out Sonic was dating her.  A split between Sonic and Surge formed and the two started fighting each other.  It even went as far as Surge asking Nikki out on a date.

Abilites

Surge has the ability to run faster than the speed of sound and match Sonic's speed.  He can run on water (though he's afraid of water and can't swim, due to his speed) he can also roll up into a ball and charge up his spin or home on enemies or objects.  He has chaos powers, which allow him to tap into the energies of a chaos emerald or take the energy and turn them into projectiles.  He also has telekinetic powers, allowing to levetate objects and launch them at enemies.

Transformations

Super Form

When Surge is in posession of all seven chaos emeralds, Surge can transform into a super state and become Super Surge.  In this state, Surge can fly, move faster than normal, his chaos powers get stronger and his telekinesis powers are enhanced.  He however, he needs rings to maintain his form or he reverts back to normal.

Weaknesses

Surge is afraid of water, due to the fact he can't swim, aquaphobia and childhood fears.  Surge sinks to the bottom and can run, though his speed is greatly reduced.  When Surge needs air, he simply air bubbles and swallows them. 

Relationships and Romance

Mephiles the Dark

When Surge was six months old, Mephiles kidnapped him and sent him to the future for his own purpose.  After a few years, Mephiles started watching Surge, to see if he could serve Mephiles' purposes.  Mephiles finally showed himself to Surge after Iblis' defeat.  After Solaris was destroyed, Mephiles survived and made Surge his sworn enemy.

Mephiles is Surge's arch-nemesis.  The two are like water and fire.  Always fighting him at every turn, unless it puts someone else in danger.  Mephiles uses his cunning, power and skill to fight Surge.  Sometimes losing and sometimes getting the upper hand and beating Surge.  Mephiles likes to kidnap his friends and uses them to manipulate Surge.  The two have continued fighting.

Swift the Hedgehog

Swift is Surge's best friend and foster brother.  The two have been together ever since Swift was born.  They have been friends all their lives and consider each other to be brothers.

Surge first met Swift in Crisis City, after Swift was born.  As Surge and Swift battled foes together, they realized they made a great team and decided to keep it like that.  The two both shared the same dream of destroying Iblis and making Crisis City a better place.

Nikki "Nikkell" The Hedgehog

Surge first met Nikki when she came knocking his door in Crisis City, after she was being chased by Iblis Biters.  Surge let her in and sheltered her from the Iblis Biters.  She soon developed a crush on him and asked if she could have her own room in Swift and Surge's house.  He allowed her a room and let her stay as long as she wanted.

When Swift met Nikki.  She introduced herself as Surges girlfriend.  Swift later went to Surge and asked him confirm what Nikki said.  Surge told Swift that this wasn't true.  Later during a dispute between Sonic and Surge.  Surge asked Nikki out on a date.  She accepted.  During the date, Mina noticed the two were out.  Surge took notice Mina was noticing and played hard-to-get.  He embraced Nikki and kissed her.  Later Surge explained to Nikki about why he went on a date with her and asked for her forgiviness.  She forgave him and said she would still fight for Surge's affections.

Sonic the Hedgehog

Surge met Sonic on a mission to destroy him, thinking that Sonic was the Iblis Trigger.  The two fought hard but Sonic had won.  Before Sonic could take him to G.U.N. Swift came and stopped the battle.  Swift asked Sonic if he was the Iblis Trigger and Sonic said no.  Sonic then showed Surge and Swift that Mephiles was tricking them.  Surge and Swift teamed up with Sonic and destroyed Solaris.

Later, when Surge met Mina, he developed a crush on Mina, but to his dismay, he found out Sonic had gotten her first.  The two became enemies and started fighting each other.  Surge even teamed up with Dr. Eggman.  But Eggman had tricked him and unleashed an uprgaded version of Metal Sonic.  Surge later apologized to Sonic and he forgave him.
