Sonic the Hedgehog is an animated series. It is not to be confused with the 1990s series (SatAM). The show features many voice actors. Sonic happens to be voiced by Samuel Vincent, just as in Sonic Underground, though Samuel did Sonic's singing voice in Sonic Underground. John DiMaggio, known for voicing Jake from Adventure Time, voices Knuckles. Christopher Sabat, who did Vegeta from the Dragon Ball series, voices Shadow. Dan Green still voices Vector, and Lisa Ortiz still voices Amy, and Mike Pollock still voices Eggman.

- The Revenge of Metal Sonic will be the first kids anime episode.
- The shows does adaptations from games. The first adaptation was for Sonic the Fighters (episode 18), and the next one was for Sonic Adventure (episode 24). The Black Doom Saga kinda has an adaptation to Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Chronicles: The Brotherhood Saga.
