Sonic the Hedgehog (ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ Sonikku za Hejjihoggu?, born 23 June) is the titular main protagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog series and Sega's mascot. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog born with the ability to run faster than the speed of sound, hence his name, and possesses lightning-fast reflexes to match his speed. As his species implies, Sonic can also roll up into a concussive ball, primarily to attack enemies.
Born on Christmas Island, Sonic was abandoned by his parents, who took his sister, Katie with them, when he was a newborn baby. He was quickly adopted by his uncle, Sir Charles the Hedgehog. Sonic abandoned his home at an early age to pursue danger and adventures. Becoming a carefree adventurer, Sonic has spent most of his life traveling around the world and far beyond, usually in his beloved Tornado with his best friend, Tails, as his sidekick, as well as his other friends. He has since become the champion of peace after stepping into the battle against iniquity, having used his abilities to defend his world and those far beyond from the forces of evil, especially his arch-nemesis, Dr. Eggman, and his empire.
Appearance[]
Sonic is a slim anthropomorphic hedgehog with blue fur that covers most of his body, and peach skin that covers his arms, muzzle, insides of his ears and front torso. He has small, triangular ears on top of his head, six long quills on the back of his head, two spines protruding from his back behind his shoulders, and a short tail.
Back when he was younger, up until the Chaos incident, Sonic was shorter and stubbier, had a round head and an equally round torso, and black eyes. Following said crisis, he has grown taller and thinner, and developed green eyes. Prior to the Neo Metal Sonic incident, he was also often shown to have peach-skinned eyelids, until they eventually were portrayed as blue as well.
For attire, Sonic wears red shoes with a white strap, cuff and gold buckle each; and a pair of white gloves with sock-like cuffs on the hands.
On special occasions, Sonic has worn different outfits that differ from his normal attire:
- In multiple games, Sonic has multiple outfits made for different seasons.
- In Sonic Adventure 3, Sonic's seasonal winter outfit is a red sweatshirt with a ring design on it, as well as mittens and boots designed similarly to his shoes.
- In Sonic Pursuit, Sonic and his friends go to the cold country of Holaska. There, Sonic wears a red winter coat and thick, red and white gloves.
- In Sonic Infection, Sonic's seasonal winter outfit is a red had and a green scarf.
- In Sonic Speed Simulator and later Sonic Adventure 3, Sonic's seasonal summer outfit is a yellow button-up shirt with flower designs, a flower necklace, and sunglasses on his head.
- In Sonic Pursuit, Sonic's seasonal summer outfit is red swim trunks with white stripes on the sides and red and white sandals that mach his shoes.
- In Sonic Infection, Sonic's seasonal summer outfit is half-red, half-white swim trunks and red and white flip-flops.
- In Sonic Adventure 3, Sonic dresses as Metal Sonic for Halloween.
- In Sonic Pursuit, Sonic and Katie both dress as their parents for Halloween. Sonic dresses as his father, Alexander the Hedgehog, also known as Lord Valtron.
- In Sonic Infection, Sonic and Katie dress as each other for Halloween.
- In Sonic Adventure 3, Sonic's seasonal winter outfit is a red sweatshirt with a ring design on it, as well as mittens and boots designed similarly to his shoes.

Sonic is a free-spirited hedgehog who always has an appetite for adventure and rarely gets tired. He has a very "modern" style and personality, but with some '90s and 2000s aspects to it. Though he can sometimes be arrogant and brag, Sonic cares about nothing more than his friends.

Miles “Tails” Prower[]
Sonic and Tails have been friends ever since they met, when Sonic was going to Westside Island for the funeral of his presumed dead sister, Katie. Tails followed Sonic when he was just going for a run, but then he was a stowaway on Sonic was on an adventure through Eggman’s new base, Chemical Plant to stop his weapon of mass destruction, the Death Egg. That was only their first adventure. On all adventures, Tails followed Sonic and helped him stop Dr. Eggman.
Katie the Hedgehog[]
Though they did not know each other for most of their lives, Sonic and his twin sister, Katie are very close siblings. Once they reunited, Sonic and Katie were instant friends and had a connection to each other that neither of them had ever had to anyone else. Their first mission together was when they fought against the Sentinoids, which were secretly led by their long-lost parents and when they found that out, the two siblings had extra sympathy for one another, which motivated them to work together and look out for each other. After they defeated their parents, Sonic let Katie live with him in his condo. Since then, Sonic and Katie have only gotten closer as siblings. Sonic even once called Katie "the best thing that ever existed." Sonic and Katie's close relationship was put into full effect when Sonic gifted Katie with gold earrings and Katie was so happy that he gave Sonic a kiss on the cheek.
Statica Swift[]
Statica Swift is Sonic’s girlfriend. The two have a very close romantic relationship. Sonic and Statica first met when they crashed into each other and Sonic was very impressed by her skateboarding skills on a Sonic-fast skateboard. Sonic and Statica began racing together often, and developed a very close romance within a very short time period.
Sonic has always been impressed by Statica’s physical traits and style, and often compliments her on it. Statica’s jewelry, exposed torso, long hair, and urban aesthetic are specific examples of physical attributes that Sonic is quite fond of. Sonic has called Statica “more beautiful than Green Hill and Seaside Hill combined.” However, Sonic does not put Statica’s beauty ahead of her skills and personality. Statica’s bad-girl charm is one of the biggest things that made Sonic attracted to her. Statica often shows off and does tricks with her skateboard and her acrobatic skills in front of Sonic, and he is usually impressed. Other things that impress him include Statica’s flirtatious way of speaking, dance skills, independent methods, and love for adventure.
When Sonic and Statica are together, they focus mostly on each other and rarely anything else. Much of their romantic time is spent sharing kisses. This proves their serious affection for one another. However, their relationship itself is not overly serious and complex, and it is very lighthearted. They often playfully tease, tell jokes, and play pranks on each other. One thing they love doing is chasing each other, playfully. Their dates are mostly spent racing, but they have been seen going on adventures, going to the beach, and ballroom dancing together.
