“Time to do some Recon”

Sonic Recon is a platform video game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series developed by Sonic Team and Published by Sega. It was released for the 12th of November 2021 for Xbox One and PS4 and later was rereleased for PC on Steam and Epic Games storefronts on the 17th of December. Later, the Nintendo Switch version of the game released on January 7, 2022. Sonic Recon got Rereleased again for the PS5 and Xbox Series X on the 4th of September with all the DLC and a few Quality of life Updates. Sonic Recon follows Sonic The Hedgehog and the newly reformed resistance in a high octane race against time to save the world after the war. Where new and old enemies try to rule the world after the mysterious disappearance of Dr Eggman. The Storyline is based on IDW sonic, specifically the First Saga

The Game marks the return of Multiple playable characters, Hubs Worlds and the adventure formula (albeit heavily modified) since Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 and Sonic Unleashed. In addition it also introduces Comic specific characters into the main series. The Game also serves as the 30th-anniversary game for Sonic the hedgehog.

Development

After Sonic Forces, Sonic Team began development for the game in 2018. Sonic Team wanted to create a return to form for 3D Sonic but with a new spin on the adventure formula, in turn wanting to push graphical capabilities for next gen and current Gen. Also, wanting to move away from the more comedic era of Sonic due to the negative reception of the stories in Sonic Lost World, Sonic Forces and later Team Sonic Racing. Sega Demoted Warren and Pontacc from lead writers to assistant writers and hired Ian Flynn and Evan Stanley as the lead Writers for the following sonic stories for the future. The Game was teased via a tweet on the 29th anniversary. The game was the. officially announced in a sonic Central on April 29 with Sonic Mania Heroes and Sonic Riders Velocity. In the trailer they showed the main plot, Tails and Tangle as Playable Characters and 3 stages from the main game (Radiant Hill, Neon City and Radioactive Station).

In the following months they announced more stuff that would appear in the game, including playable characters Knuckles, Amy and Whisper, the multiple stages in the game, the story and multiplayer modes. On September 1 a Demo shadowed dropped and announced on the same day giving 3 stages, Radiant Hill Act 1 (Sonic), Neon City Act 2 (Tangle)/Egg Sentinel Boss (Sonic & Tangle) and Cliffside Forest Act 3 (Whisper)/Mimic Boss. The Demo and the game as whole was given high praise seeming Sonic Team having learned their lesson after Forces.

Plot

The Fallout

6 months after the war, Dr Eggman has vanished but his robot army has not and still attacks, albite very unorganised, in the month of June the attacks get more organised, with legions of robots Storming different cities. Leading the resistance to form again only without Sonic.

One day Sonic sees a village in Radiant Hill being attacked by an army Badniks, including some Death Egg Robots. After running through Radiant Hill, Sonic tries to protect the village by defeating as many Badniks as he can, he succeeds only for a little bit but his short victory stops after some Egg Hammers try to squash him, at the last second Tails saves him and together defeat the Eggman Army.

After they stop the army they check if the villagers are okay by talking. After they do a short check-up, Sonic and Tails talk about how it's suspicious that the Badniks are getting more organised and have more stronger robots, Sonic dismisses it. Tails then tells Sonic that Amy and Knuckles are going to different villages in Radiant Hill and that they are trying to stop the other robot armies. Sonic asks Tails if he wants to come but for a second looks excited wanting to go but declines due to wanting to help the villagers.

A few hours later in the evening, another Eggman army attacks, this time with a Death Crab. Amy goes to check the village out, overwhelmed by the amount of Eggman Badniks, Sonic comes in the nick of time to help her and destroy the Death Crab. After they defeat the egg crab, Amy tries to convince Sonic to rejoin the Resistance but declines due to what Tails said about the armies. Amy is a bit angry at Sonic but somewhat understands, Sonic liking this more mature Amy decides to ask her if they should look around together. Amy declines as she has work to do in the resistance.

In the night Ex Commander, now General Knuckles goes to the westside village in Radiant Hill. The gate is locked due go the fear of Badniks attacking the Town. A Dog Soldier tells Knuckles to go Away. Knuckles gets angrier and tells him he is the general of The resistance. The Dog looks behind seeing 2 skunks threatening to kill him if he says anything, but the Dog screams that they are being held captive. The skunks capture the dog leading Knuckles to break the gate open and Go in.

Going through the town Knuckles fights some Robots and later an Egg hammer. Sonic nearby meets up with Knuckles wanting to aid him on his mission. They eventually find a cottage with noise in It. Sonic proposes to be stealthy but Knuckles busts the door open. They then find that the two skunks that Knuckles saw are evil and have a few Villagers and Wisps as slaves.

The skunks look surprised as Sonic and Knuckles are trying to Stop Them. The skunks introduce themselves as Rough and Tumble. While Sonic bursts out laughing Knuckles takes them seriously. A fight ensues, although the skunks have the high ground with Tumble’s powerful spray, our Heroes Reign triumphant.

After the fight, Knuckles and Sonic free the Slaves that the Skunks. They then put the Bros in jail, before Rough vows to have his revenge. Knuckles trying to seem to swallow his pride, says thanks Sonic and say he couldn't have defeated the skunks without him. Sonic looking embarrassed welcomes his praise and parties with the citizens in the night.

It then shifts focus to a shadowed figure, with Orbot and Cubot right next them. Orbot exclaims that Sonic and the resistance has taken out over 60% of Badnik resources, saying if they don't stop sending as much as they do, the Eggman Empire could fall. The Shadow Figure silences Orbot, telling him that this is a part of his plan. The Shadow Figure notes that the Knuckles is not guarding the Master emerald nor that the Chaos Emeralds are in Anyone’s Hands. The Shadow figure laughs menacingly ending the cutscene.

The Fate of Dr Eggman

After the fight and party, Sonic goes around Radiant Hill to destroy more Badniks, but comes off short. Sonic then gets a call from the Chaotix; Episo tells Sonic that he has found something big linked to Eggman while Vector is chasing Charmy in the background in a mountainous forest area. Sonic tracks Episo's location in the Cliffside Forest.

After running through a forest area, Sonic finds Episo and tries to see what’s going on. Espio tells him it has something to do with Eggman, Sonic immediately gets more curious, Vector and Charmy join in to, telling Sonic that Eggman has been acting strangely for the past few days

Sonic and the Chaotix eventually end up in the village, Vector then calls for a Mr Tinker. Eggman comes out with green ovveralls, pink shirt and flip-flops comes out. Sonic ready to attack and says: “Missed me Baldy Mcnosehair!” but gets stopped by the village mayor (an Overweight Goat) named Goateus tells Sonic what is happening with Dr Eggman.

Goateus explains that a week after the war, Eggman appeared from a Red Nullspace Portal; the villgers were scared that Eggman would attack with his Badniks, so they locked him up in a prison, for which he escaped from to improve the jail. After asking him a few questions they find out that Eggman has lost his Memory. A Villager called the resistance, since most them were busy the Chaotix came instead to help with the situation. They then want to reshape Eggman to become a good guy, instead of him roting in a cell even though he lost his memory.

Sonic goes near Mr Tinker and asks if he remembered the war, Eggman says he does not remeber any war apart from fixing the mayor’s toilet. Sonic asks if he remembers him and says no. The Chaotix say that he has no memory of his past life being Eggman and is the complete opposite of what Dr Eggman is.

A 6-year-old monkey kid then tells Sonic that Eggman (or Mr Tinker) is a lovely man, that he fixed and improved his bike After it Broke from Falling to the mountain below and begs Sonicc not to take him to the resistance. Many other villagers tell their experiences with Mr Tinker, seeing how he fixed and advanced the Village technology and defences from Badniks.

Mr Tinker then asks that he has something to show Sonic, the Chaotix and the mayor come too. Sonic looks more on edge. When they arrive to the area. Sonic gets in a homing attack stance only to see that Mr Tinker is working on Tinker-Land and Tink-Bots (which look very similar to the Egg Pawns but green).

Sonic questions Tinker a bit more with him asking if he remembers any of his evil schemes, asking him about the time he enslaved aliens or when he teamed with a younger version of himself or when he destroyed the moon in half and had to fix it for his Sentence and even when he split the Earth into multiple different pieces.

Mr Tinker says he doesn't know any of what he did and says that sounds horrible and wants to change and help people for good if that’s what he did. Sonic accepts that Mr Tinker has no memory of Dr Eggman and says sorry for calling him Baldy Mcnosehiar. Sonic introduces himself as Sonic Marice Needlemouse or just Sonic the Hedgehog. Mr Tinker introduces himself as Ivo Albert Tinker.

Sonic has a sigh of relief after talking to Mr Tinker and says there is nothing to worry about. But Goateus wants to speak to Sonic and the Chaotix in private. Goateus explains that if Mr Tinker sees enough parts of Dr Eggman or something so impactful to his past life then he will revert back to Eggman and be completely different and crueller to the of the Past due to his experiences. With each minor memory some of Eggman will be restored. Sonic wonders if Baldy Mcnosehair has restored some memory of Eggman, Goateus says it may if he calls him that regularly and doesn't like it.

Sonic asks if he is going to turn back to Eggman over time,; Goateus says it's possible but unlikely and that he is in a stable state of not remembering his past life and only has a few slight memories of him. Sonic and the Chaotix then hear the villagers screaming and see Shadow, Rouge and Omega Taking and arresting Mr Tinker.

Sonic tells Shadow that Mr Tinker doesn't remember anything what Eggman did and could start anew. Shadow dismisses Sonic’s plea and pushes him aside; Rouge tells Sonic that Shadow isn't listening to anyone and wants Eggman/Mr Tinker not to be forgiven for his actions against humanity. Sonic tries to reason with Shadow but Shadow then pushes Sonic to the mountains below and gets Mr Tinker by the hand, implying he will kill him. Sonic has had enough of Shadow and fights him.

Sonic and Shadow are at a stalemate and are tired but won’t give up the fight. Sonic and Shadow boost towards each other and create an explosion. Before any more damage is done Mr Tinker stops both of them by standing in between them. Mr Tinker tells Shadow that he is sorry for the damage that this Eggman has done and wants To rectify it by making as many improvements as possible.

Shadow leaves without notice and accepts defeat; Rouge follows Shadow and apologises for what Shadow has done and goes with him while Omega seems very disappointed at Shadow for not killing Mr Tinker. Sonic checks if everyone is okay and sees that everyone is fine, but Mr Tinker seems very sad about what this Eggman has done and wants to leave in solitude, away from everyone. Sonic tells Mr Tinker that it doesn't matter what happens in the past what you make of the present and future. Mr Tinker seems a lot happier and goes to his workshop to finish Tinker-land.

In the evening, Sonic gets a phone call from his watch from Tails. He says that something big is happening and is tracking his location in the Cliffside Mountain. Tails finds sonic but is sleeping on a hammock and decides not to disturb him. Meanwhile in the lowest part of the Cliffside Mountains, a wolf girl named Whisper, who has a multi-wispon, grapples to a nearby Branch and runs through the Forest.

Whisper then finds a dark blue emerald on a big stump, but is attacked by a levitating Blue Octopus (named Mimic). The Octopus knows Whisper and asks her for the Emerald but she declines, Mimic then ambushes her and gets the Chaos Emerald, absorbing its power, allowing him to shape-shift into other beings. Whisper barely manages to defeat Mimic, but Mimic tells Whisper that she is worthless. Mimic then teleports away from her leaving Whisper crying.

The next day, Sonic wakes and gets a chilli dog for breakfast and finds Tails is in the Village; Tails explains he is done helping the villagers in Radiant Hill by setting up defences around it. Sonic asks what he has found, Tails about to tell him sees Eggman (or Mr Tinker) and attacks him. Sonic and Goateus explain to Tails the situation in an inaudible cutscene. Tails looking more on edge about this checks by using some of Mr Tinker’s Tools.

Tails after 20 minutes finds out that Mr Tinker thoughts fill 90% of his Mind while 5% of his mind is Eggman, the other 5% is undetermined. Tails tells Sonic that they should keep an eye on him and should let him stay away from anything Eggman related. Tails then leads sonic to the tornado. After Tails helped with the Villagers in Radiant Hill, he went with the Tornado on a flight to the city to get some supplies for the Resistance. He then spotted the Egg Carrier, which then proceeded to shoot at him. Tails turned around before the Tornado gets more damage and goes to the Cliffside Mountains. Tails says that the Egg Carrier is probably still there and that they should investigate it.

Sonic and Tails go on to the Tornado to find the Egg Carrier. Sonic and Tails eventually find the ship and go inside; they find mostly Egg Pawns and Badniks in there that they are half damaged. Sonic tells Tails to hand back in case anything happens, he then eventually goes to the centre of the Egg Carrier. Sonic finds a person on a chair and sees Orbot and Cubot talking to someone. Eventually they see that the person on the chair turns around seeing it’s Eggman. Sonic looks confused and asks why he was here when he was in the village.

Eggman tells Sonic he is lying and says that he was staying quiet because he is working on something big. Sonic sees and senses that Eggman is lying and it may not be him at all, He Spin-dashes to him making him fall to the Egg Carrier part below. Sonic sees that Eggman is sparking from the fall, Sonic punches Eggman making him turn into Neo Metal Sonic.

Sonic looks surprised and ask why he is changing into Eggman, Metal Sonic avoids the question and then battles with Sonic. Metal Sonic antagonises Sonic, telling him that he will always be the best Sonic. Sonic dismisses this and manages to defeat Neo Metal Sonic, but only for a little while as Neo Metal Sonic gathers data from Sonic’s moves and attacks. Neo then uses the boost that Sonic used during the fight and managed to weaken Sonic. Metal Sonic was about to spin-dash to Sonic when he gives a hand-wave to the sky, signalling Tails and Tornado. Sonic then jumps off the edge of the Egg Carrier, saluting while doing it. Tails, in the nick of time, saves Sonic, leading Neo Metal Sonic to leave them alone and go into the Egg Carrier.

Emerald Run

Sonic & Tails go back to the resistance HQ telling everything that has happened over the last few days. Knuckles seems weirded out about this and says he would have taken care of Neo Metal Sonic and Eggman. Amy says that they have intel that they found out what Neo Metal Sonic is planning, he is planning to use the Chaos Emeralds and Master Emerald to use for intel dimensional world domination with a new stone with his henchmen.

Knuckles looks more interested but equally angry that Metal Sonic is after the Master Emerald and could go to it any second; Amy says they have already have set up a few of their troops and Tink-Bots there to stop any Eggman Badniks from getting the Emerald, Knuckles while more relived, still wants to be on the Island to mainly protect it.

Amy doesn't want him to go as he is still needed to do Resistance duties. Knuckles looking more angry accepts defeat. Amy then finds out that the Grey Chaos Emerald is in a Abandoned Eggman Factory and sends Sonic and Knuckles to find it. After walking through the factory, Sonic and Knuckles are eventually are ganged up by a bunch of Badniks that are partially damaged. Sonic and Knuckles get saved by Silver the Hedgehog and Blaze the Cat. Sonic seems thankful that they help while Knuckles is trying to swallow his pride and act like he could have destroyed the Robots.

While walking through the Factory, Sonic asks why they are here in his world; Silver first says after the war, he came back to the future and everything was fine until a few hours ago where everything was gone, and he was standing in a rocky area. Knuckles asks about Blaze and she says that the Sol Emeralds predicted a Dimension destruction event that would cause the end of all dimensions.

Sonic and Knuckles before they could ask more questions, they get attacked by a new E robot, E-107 Theta. Knuckles manages to beat the robot by himself, but gets ambushed by more Egg hammers, when it looks like it's all over, a blue beam turns them into blue coins, destroying the robots. Blaze, Knuckles and Sonic look confused but Silver seems ecstatic, Sonic asks why when Silver explains that the person who emitted the beam was a mysterious vigilante called the Guradian Angel who helped the cilivians while sonic was gone during the war.

Blaze asks about what war and Sonic explains that he nearly died during it. Blaze looks concerned that they didn't tell her about the war and that she could have helped. Regardless, Knuckles notices that Silver is gone, with the others getting worried that he may of been captured by a Eggman Robot. They hurry around the Factory looking for him when they find him calling for "Wolfie". Blaze looks disappointed and angry That he left without any notice.

Silver apologizes and says he really wanted to see the vigilante. Suddenly, a large group of Badniks ambush the group. Then the vigilante comes down and then saves the group with her multi-Wispon. Silver seems really excited he has finally seen her fully and asks her many questions, her name, her age, and so much more. She then tells to leave her alone. Silver apologises and tells he will and questions when she is ready. The Vigilante quietly says her name is Whisper. Silver mistakes this as to actually whisper.

Sonic, while Silver asks Whisper way too many questions again, finds the Chaos Emerald and reports it to Amy that she has found it. Sonic announces he has found the Chaos Emerald, Whisper uses this opportunity to use the Jade Wisp and disappears into thin air. Silver asks if Whisper has seen a Chaos Emerald before he sees that he is talking to No-one. Silver looks sad that she scared Whisper away, Blaze tells Silver that she seems nervous and says Silver can be a bit overeager to people. Silver seemingly disappointed,goes away from the group.

Sonic and Knuckles go back to the resistance, giving the Chaos Emerald to Amy. Amy tells Sonic that in the Neon City an Eggman Sentinel is destroying the city. Amy also tells Sonic that a new upcoming recruit of the Resistance is there to check it out but hasn't responded or said anything. Sonic rushes to the city and finds the civilians running away from the Egg Sentinel. Sonic goes through the city to try find the new recruit. Sonic walking through a rooftop, reports back to Amy and says he hasn't found the recruit, he then steps on a long grey tail which picks him up and nearly strangled him to death.

After a few pleas for help from Sonic and the mysterious person seeing who it is, they drop him down. The person repeatedly apologises and tells him that her name is Tangle. Sonic says it's okay and he asks if they are the new recruit. Sonic then asks why she hasn't reported back to the Resistance. She says that Eggman’s Robots have taken over the communication towers and she couldn't take down the Robot as it's too big for her tail. Sonic and Tangle team up and go to defeat the Badniks and find the Sentinel.

The duo then find the Egg Sentinel in the streets of the city and a few G.U.N Soldiers try to defeat it; After the G.U.N Soldiers fail, they both decide to team up to defeat the sentinel. After a tough battle, the heroes win, but the robot then falls to the ground and nearly destroys a lot of the city, Tangle, acts fast by using her tail to stop it. Sonic looking very impressed, high-fives Tangle.

Later in the evening, Tails goes to the City to get supplies for himself; he then sees a few Badniks with a Platypus telling them to find a Purple Chaos Emerald, reluctantly Tails calls out the Platypus and follows him. Tails finds the Purple Chaos Emerald but suddenly gets ambushed by the Platypus, telling him to mind his own business. Tails tries to get the emerald and fights him for it. Tails failed to obtain the emerald and the Platypus and gets captured by a few Eggman Robots.

World of Chaos

Meanwhile, back in the HQ, Sonic and Tangle inform Amy about what has happened. Sonic wonders where Tails is; Amy and Knuckles say they don't know. Sonic looking confused, asks where the next Chaos Emerald is; Amy tells Sonic that they know there are 2 Emeralds, one in the Rocky Junkyard and the other In Frost Hill. Depending On the player's choice, they will do that one first.

In the Rocky Junkyard, Sonic, Knuckles and Tangle team up to find the Yellow Emerald and to destroy the mine that Metal Sonic is using To find gold. The Rocky Junkyards was initially a lush green area was ruined by Eggman’s Hijinks During the war, since then, the civilians hated the resistance for not doing anything. Sonic goes to the Death Dome where Tails is being held (From Intel by Rouge) while Knuckles and Tangle go through the Mines to find the Emerald. Sonic goes to the Death Dome (Which is made from pieces from the Death Egg) and a auidance of Badniks and Animals are booing him as the resistance didn't help the Villagers in the area when it turned into the wastelands, he also sees Tails in a Cage. Sonic asks to free him but is declined by the Platypus from the Neon City; the Platypus floats down with a mysterious stone on his hand and a blue-purple aura around Him. The Platypus introduces himself as Dr Starline, explaining himself as an avid admirer of Dr Robotnik, loving his work and schemes and longs to defeat Sonic for this by calling him an obsessive Fan-boy. Dr Starline being very angry at this decides to fight sonic.

Throughout the fight, Dr Starline uses his new Stone, the warp topaz and uses it to create multiple copies of Badniks and uses it to create portals he teleports with to trap Sonic. Luckily, Sonic barley manages winning and gets the purple emerald that Dr Starline got in Neon City, Starline admits that Sonic is A Formidable opponent's. Sonic Looking faltered but tries to hide, Sonic then asks if he can have his friend back. Starline gives him back, saying that his time is worthless as he will be planning something big to wipe out the world. Starline then teleports away using his Warp Topaz. Sonic asks if Tails is okay, Tails says he is and says that they should focus on getting the Emeralds first. (If the player is playing this after Frost Hill then Tails will just say let’s go home) Meanwhile in the Mines, Tangle and Knuckles team up and go through the mines defeating the Robots and saving the slaves that appear there. Eventually they find the Yellow Chaos Emerald and Tangle and Knuckles fist bump.

In Frost Hill, Sonic, Tangle and Amy go to the Village to see it’s been destroyed; the Village Chief (A Walrus) says that a Blue Octopus destroyed the Village, searching for a Light Blue Chaos Emerald. Tangle Raises her tail in fear hearing a the Blue Octopus. Sonic asks is She is okay, Tangle Shrugs it off. Sonic, Tangle and Amy eventually an army of the Ice Villagers trying to Get the emerald. But they get ambushed by the Blue Octopus, Tangle seeing who it is tries to get the emerald From Mimic but fails and gets trapped by Mimic’s Powers. Sonic and Amy get the emerald but sees that Tangle is captured by Mimic, Sonic asks if they can Get her Back. Mimic laughing says only for a sizeable fee (imply he wants the Chaos Emerald) Tangle in her prison is doing a no Gesture. Mimic implies that he will Kill Tangle if he doesn't get the Emerald. Sonic thinks of a quick plan; he then acts like he gives the emerald only to throw it leading Amy to catch it and let Tangle out. It managed to work and Mimic is not very happy, Tangle being very angry tells sonic it was a mistake as Mimic has very Powerful abilities.

Throughout the Fight, Mimic uses his shapeshifting abilities and his Chaos beam shooting. Luckily, Sonic manages to beat Mimic due to his weakness of him needing to recharge his Powers from a Chaos Emerald or a Powerful source. Mimic using the last of his powers to Shape-shift into Tangle and uses her Tail to Get the Emerald and the other Emerald that Mimic obtained in Cliffside Forest but fails. Sonic dashes towards him and tries to homing attack him and manages to get the Emeralds. Sonic looks at Tangle who is crying, and takes her to the docks of Frost Hill, in the Sunrise.

Sonic asks Tangle how she knows Mimic and she didn't want to give the emerald to him; Tangle explains that a few years ago, Her Parents were explorers and love to find things, they found a chaos emerald and was going to give it to her, but then they were killed by Mimic and used the emerald to Absorb its Powers. Mimic used his Powers to destroy the Village, Tangle tried to stand up to him but Was nearly killed. Tangle explains If he gets a Chaos Emerald, he will have unlimited power. Tangle says after that she She will try to protect everyone she can and is the reason why she joined the Resistance. Sonic apologizes and says that they will take down Mimic and Neo Metal Sonic. Tangle hugs Sonic and go back to the Village to Report the news. The Ice Chief thanks the gang and gives them a Fish for gratitude.

After Sonic saves Tails and gets the 2 Chaos Emeralds. Amy tells the resistance that they have found a Chaos Emerald in a Festival and they also have intel that they will destroy the festival to make An Eggman parade. They arrive at the Festival and see that A few Eggman Robots Are Demolishing it for the Eggman Parade. Sonic, Tails and Amy go through the Festival, destroying the Badniks Along the way. Tangle with her star-studded eyes runs off towards the Concert. The crew eventually go to the Concert and see Rough and Tumble kidnapping the Main act (which is Crush 40) and Dr Starline DJING. Rough and Tumble sing terribly, while Flossing and Dabbing. Sonic sees Mr Tinker in the VIP area while hearing a Dubstep Remix of the Eggman Anthem (The Eggman Theme from Unleashed and Colours). Sonic realised what they are doing and decides to stop them Playing before Tinker Remembers He is Eggman.

Sonic stops them from playing the theme Before Tinker remembers he is Eggman. Dr Starline gets very angry at sonic and tells Rough and Tumble to Get the Egg MC. Sonic looks up and sees a Version of the Egg Golem but as a DJ and slightly altered. Amy decides to take out the Egg MC. Amy Manages to succeed makes Starline, Rough and Tumble flee away from the Festival. The Crowd cheers for Amy and continues the Concert. The Head of a Concert (A Blue Bird) thanks the Resistance and gives them a Red Chaos Emerald for a gift.

After going to Festival Night, they locate the final Emerald in The Ancient Paradise. Amy also notifies Sonic, Tails and Knuckles that Whisper is also there to find it on her own but may have underestimated the mission due the Ancient evil In The Beach.

Sonic, Tails and Knuckles arrive at the Paradise and see that the villagers look distraught when they ask a few of the Villagers, they say that a Sea Monster ate a small wolf girl. Sonic and Tails scramble to find Whisper with the help of the nearby Big the Cat, while Knuckles looks for the Green Emerald. The Trio go through the Beach, Jungle and Ruins to find Whisper. They then find her multi-wispon on the ground and find a giant sea Dragon.

They her Whisper pleading for help, Sonic, Tails and Big the Cat team up to defeat the Sea Dragon. They Manage to defeat the sea dragon and save Whisper. Whisper is crying from being eaten and seems traumatised; Tails asks what happened. Whisper explains that she wanted to find the last Chaos Emerald to help; Mimic sees she was getting the Emeralds and so shape-shifts into Cream the Rabbit as She was Nearby and lures her to the dragon and told Whisper that the Emerald is under the water; she then got eaten by the Dragon before seeing Mimic turn back to his usual self and taunts her.

Tails & Big comforts Whisper While Sonic worries about Knuckles if he finds the Emerald, Sonic, Tails, Big and Whisper hurry to find Knuckles. They find Knuckles Passed out in the Jungle and on the floor and see Mimic levitating already absorbing The Green Emerald. Sonic and Tails try to stop Mimic but fail and get paralysed by his abilities, while Big runs away; Whisper nearly has a Panic attack From seeing Mimic. He then taunts Her and tells her she is a wimp and won’t do anything, telling her to run. Whisper uses her Multi-Wispon by using the Cube mode to trap him into a Cube and takes him away with the Hover Wisp. Eventually, Sonic and Tails get unparalysed and thank Whisper for her heroics; she looks surprised and scared at first but warms Up to them. Knuckles eventually wakes up and seems very on edge; Sonic explains the situation to Knuckles; He Thanks Whisper For her help. Sonic picks up the Greyed out Emerald and says that it will be some time before it has its Positive power restored, they decide to go back To the HQ.

The Battle of Angel Island

Meanwhile, Neo Metal Sonic is irritated at the fact that the Resistance has all 7 Chaos Emeralds, Orbot explains that his the plan won't work if he doesn't have the Emeralds; Metal Sonic takes Orbot by his neck and threatens that he will scrap Him. Metal Sonic then tells Orbot that his plan will have a minor setback; he then tells Cubot to ready 95% of the Badniks And get ready for the Egg Fleets. Cubot rushes out, saluting him; Orbot facepalms and says that Eggman was a better leader. In Angel Island, The Troops there about to leave due to the Resistance getting all The Emeralds but see that 100s of Egg Fleets deploy Badniks that take Them out, Metal Sonic then comes down and rushes to The Master Emerald, he then creates an Eggman shrine on the Master Emerald alter.

Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Whisper come back with the Green Emerald (albite greyed out); the Resistance were about to celebrate when Metal Sonic comes up on the TV and says that he has taken over Angel Island and is near the altar. Knuckles gets really Angry and wants to go to Angel Island as fast as possible, Knuckles plans to send everything to secure the Master Emerald and stop Metal Sonic From ruling the world. Amy looks cautious But Agrees anyway. In a few Hours, The Chaotix, Silver, Blaze, Rouge, Omega, Tangle, Whisper, Amy, Cream, Big, G-merl and Knuckles board A resistance Ship with a few other Soldiers. More Resistance ships go to Angel Island, Sonic boards with the Toronado with Tails Piloting it. The Resistance ships get blasted down by the Egg Fleets and barely manage to arrive at Angel Island with the Help Of the Tornado, unfortunately, the Tornado gets blasted down by an Egg Fleet; Tails gives Sonic the Ring and through him onto the Island below.

Now in a CGI cutscene, the Resistance and a few Soldiers eventually make it to the Island and see a whole army of Eggman Badniks on the shore. Meanwhile, Sonic and Knuckles rush towards to Eggman alter of The Master Emerald to find Neo Metal Sonic. They find Neo Metal Sonic on the alter, taunting them they Were too late. Metal Sonic uses the Power of the Master Emerald. Knuckles gets really angry and rushes towards Metal Sonic and punches him but gets electrocuted by His newfound power. Suddenly out of nowhere, Shadow boosts towards Metal Sonic; Sonic asks where did he come from; Shadow says there is no time for such “frivolous Questions”. Shadow manages to do some Minor damage to him but eventually gets beaten by Metal Sonic. Sonic looking angry sees that the Green Emerald has regained energy; Sonic tried to into Super Sonic but fails as Metal Sonic absorbs and neutralises all the Energy from him and turns into Super Neo Metal Sonic, Knuckles and Shadow wake up; Knuckles fights him and does very minor damage to him. Shadow wanting to defeat Neo once and for all, Takes of all of his Inhibitor Rings and makes a Chaos Energy Blast From his chest. Metal Sonic absorbs it and uses it to turn into The Master Overlord absorbing Master emerald and chaos emerald in him as well. In turn this makes the Island fall down, which could damage the whole Island.

Meanwhile on the shore the resistance get overwhelmed by thousands of Super Badniks and nearly lose, when suddenly Burning Blaze appears, using her powers to defeat the swarms of Badniks. The Chaotix Rush towards a Egg Hammer and manage to defeat the Egg Hammer. Whisper uses her Cube mode of her Wispon to turn the Badniks into Blue Cubes; she also uses Rocket, Spike, Lazer, Burst, and freeze to defeat the Hoards of Badniks. Omega, Silver, G-merl and Rouge team up to take out a Buzzer Cargo, Big saves Cream from a Elite Egg Hammer.

Shadow Passes out while Knuckles tries to defeat Master Overlord but gets thrown across the Island. Sonic decides ,with the little power he has, tries to defeat him. Halfway through the fight Master Overlord manages to wears out sonic, taunting him about him being the Best Sonic in this world. Sonic also taunts him saying he’s not a Big Dragon last time he checked; Metal Sonic says he is Sonic but perfected. The Resistance excluding Knuckles and Shadow Charge towards Master Overlord and get on him but are thrown of. Tails in his fixed Tornado with his Grapple Ring catches sonic and finishes the fight in the Tornado. The Duo Barley manage to win due to the Tornado turning into it’s Battle Mode, it helped them exceptionally. Eventually all The Badniks deactivate, making the Resistance win the Battle. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Shadow go to the shores Of Angel Island before seeing a Pleading Metal Sonic, telling them that he only wanted to be the best Sonic there was and prove himself to His master. Meanwhile, The Resistance nearly fall down to the shore when Sliver saves half of the crew while Tangle uses her tail to save the other half.

The group dismiss this and go, leaving Metal Sonic to rot and turn back into how he normally is. They eventually go back to shore to celebrate, with the exception of Shadow who teleports away from the group; Rouge and Omega get angry at him for leaving. Meanwhile, on the top of the Island, Whisper is on the Mater Emerald Alter seeing the Resistance reminisce the recent fight and celebrate. Silver notices her absence and Goes to her. Whisper looks very nervous and about to use the Jade Wisp, Silver uses his powers to take away the Wispon. Silver explains that he’s sorry of being so over-eager on being his friend. Whisper accepts his apology and also apologizes for not being transparent enough, explaining how she feels. Silver then asks if he can be Whisper’s Friend and may even more then that. Whisper says she’s not ready to have more than being a friend. They hug each other Ending the cutscene.

The Return of the Doctor

Meanwhile, in a now in-game cutscene, Dr Starline, Mimic, Rough and Tumble are rewatching the Battle of Angel Island unfold. Dr Starline seems pleased that this happens and explains to the group that this was inevitable due to in his eyes Metal Sonic’s Primitive thinking and only having the primary objective of being the best sonic, Dr Starline sends the group out to get Eggman as Starline has managed to track his location in The Cliffside Forest via The situation from Festival Night.

In the Cliffside Forest, Mr Tinker has completed Tinkland and is unveiling it to the Villagers Of Cliffside Village. He mistakenly says Eggmanland instead of Tinkland when revealing it, despite this he stills reveals Tinkland, showing Badniks as Carnival Rides. The Children of the Village run towards the Amusement park thanking Mr Tinker and hugging him. He seems angry at first but accepts the loving children; he then walks to Goateus saying he has eggs on His mind explaining that he wants an Egg sandwich. Goateus says he shouldn't be worried about this and says it's all Just a phase. Then, Rough, Tumble and Mimic show wanting Mr Tinker. The 2 Skunks try to kidnap him with brute force and not thinking, calling him Egghead and Mr Fatty Egg. Then Sonic shows Eggman that he wants to see him as he wants him to “fix” something. Mr Tinker Rush towards sonic and follows the group; Tumble and Rough look at each other confused, shrugging. The Cutscene ends with Mimic’s face on Sonic’s body meaning that Mimic has shaped Shifted into sonic. Knocking out Mr Tinker

Back at the Disclosed Base, Dr Starline, looks pleased that they have captured Mr Tinker or Eggman. Star line places him on a Table, strapping Down with metal, Dr Starline attempts to jog his memory with videos of his plans, like with Chaos or when he blew up the moon. Mr Tinker doesn't let up and is still himself. Dr Starline progressively gets angrier and eventually gives up. Then Orbot and Cubot Carrying Metal Sonic Enter the Room, asking if they should scrap him to Dr Starline. Mr Tinker then cracks his Glasses and it flashbacks to Classic Eggman (Robotnik) creating Metal Sonic for the first time, caring for him. It then Flashes Forward to after Heroes, where Metal Sonic turned Neo for the First Time, Caring for him, saying that he will still love him no matter What he does. The seemingly back Dr Eggman exclaims not to Scrap metal sonic or else he will scrap them. He looks confused looking at his outfit and the people who are in his presence. He breaks through the trap using his brute strength and gets a nearby Egg Pawn gun, threatening to kill them all.

Dr Starline explains to him that he has an untimely absence, leading Starline explaining how Metal Sonic “ruined” The Eggman Empire. Eggman remember that He wanted to Use Neo Metal Sonic, programmed to not rebel but in return is more robust, for the final battle with Sonic, Classic Sonic and the Rookie but It seems he was too late to fully activate. Nonetheless, Eggman seems very proud of Metal Sonic and wants to fix him To be better. Eggman orders Orbot and Cubot to get his Clothes. Cubot says he will miss the Lovely Metal made version of Sonic and really wanted to “use his parts” Orbot Disgusted gets Eggman's Clothes.

Orbot gives Eggman his clothes and fully watched him change on accident. He than Explains to Cubot how he really wants Memory Erase feature. Dr Eggman wants the group to explain who they are; Dr Starline says he is a great admirer of Dr Robotnik (keep in mind he doesn't call him Dr Eggman because it’s “disrespectful.”) and has a very massive folder detailing how he could Improve his plans, saying it's from when he invaded south Island to when he awakened Chaos. Eggman looks happy at the fact that someone admires him to this degree albite a bit weirded out at the amount of detail he admires Eggman. he also wonders about the stone on his hand, Starline explains it's a family heirloom that can exponentially increase the user's Speed, Flight and Power, also allowing the user to create portals, levitate in the air and create illusions of different things that are stronger than The Phantom Ruby. Eggman seems cautious at the fact with the Warp Topaz but still takes Starline on board.

Rough and Tumble introduce themselves in the same way they did with Sonic & Knuckles with Rough Dabbing. Dr Eggman about to kick them out when Dr Starline they are stupid but strong and hate Sonic The Hedgehog. He Also explains to Eggman that they managed to defeat Capture a whole Village despite their stupidity; Eggman impressed keeps them. Lastly, Eggman Looks at Mimic and recognised him and shakes his hand, saying he is glad he has joined the Right side; Dr Starline explains to Eggman he is a sneaky, shape-shifting and cunning asset of the team but he says that he is the most untrustworthy of the group. Eggman sternly Says, “I Know”. Eggman asks Dr Starline why he was in the outfit, Starline replies that Sonic and his group shaped him to be a good guy “Mr Tinker”. Dr Eggman getting angry, decides to have immediate revenge on Sonic saying he will how much he hates that Hedgehog and will defeat him of it's the last thing he does, Rebuilding the Imperial City as an Eggmanland 2.0 of Sorts.

Meanwhile in the Resistance HQ, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Tangle and Whisper reminisce about the Battle of Angel Island, Sonic wonders that this could be their last battle with any type of Villains thinking that life would be very dull without the thrill of Fighting different Villains. Suddenly on the TV, An Eggman Message shows up with his theme from Sonic Adventure 2. The gang look surprised and wonder if he is truly back, their worst fears were proven correct; Eggman says in 24 Hours he will launch missiles around the world and make into his own Planet if they don't go to his new City: Eggtropolis. He will also launch The missiles, if any resistance ships come to Eggtropolis and destroy it. He then ends The call before seeing Rough and Tumble doing Their horrible dancing. Sonic seems irritated that Eggman has returned but excited as likes the thrill of beating Eggman. The group look at him confused but go to Eggtropolis anyway.

While Sonic runs through the City Looking for Eggman, he comes across a door which is locked by 5 terminals, he tells the group to find all 5 terminals to open the door and Beat Eggman. While going to the terminals, they come all individually come across Eggman’s Henchmen; Tails fights Dr Starline, Knuckles fights Tumble, Amy Fights Metal Sonic, Tangle fights Rough and Whisper fights Mimic, they all come on top, Destroying the terminals. Sonic opens the Door and goes on a comically long elevator down to the core of the City. He then is attacked by Eggman's new creation, the Egg Slayer, Sonic tries to joke with Eggman but he is not treated with his normal come-backs to sonic. Instead, insisting he should be Called Dr Robotnik. Luckily, Sonic manages to slay The Egg Slayer. Eggman begs for mercy and tells him he won't Be Threatening again. Sonic tells Eggman that he will always reign triumphant against him with whatever robots and Creations he makes. Sonic leaves Eggtropolis and stops the missiles from launching

Prime Time

After the defeat, The Group come back to the base, gearing up for Eggman’s next major plan. While everyone else is okay with this, Dr Starline seems disappointed at this saying the way he tried to defeat sonic was sloppy not having a clear idea of what He wants to be. Starline confronts the Doctor about his and tries to persuade him into creating a more effective plan, Starline Says to reuse Neo Metal Sonic with the Warp Topaz and countless other schemes.

Eggman soon gets very angry at Starline’s persistent behaviour and eventually pushes him Onto the Floor. He tells him that he is the one to create and headline his plans, Starline tries to explain that he is only trying to help him Get world domination. Eggman tells him to know his place and will be his henchman. Eggman kicks Dr Starline out Of the base.

Dr Starline seemingly cross goes to Radioactive Factory (his base of operations) to complete his “new” Creation,the Platyobot (a Version of the Death Egg Robot with a Platypus head on it and a triangle-shaped body). In a few minutes, he completes the Platyobot and only needs a Sufficient enough power source to work with the Warp Topaz.

In a CGI Cutscene, back on Angel Island, Knuckles is sleeping on the Master Emerald and wakes up to get his breakfast, a couple of grapes, when he senses something very bad happening to the Master Emerald. Knuckles rushes back to the altar and sees it's fine, but suddenly from a sky sees a giant Robotic Platypus which steals the Emerald and steals it In its chest, and Knocks out Knuckles.

It cuts to people living in Neon City having a typical day, then they see a Blue-purplish portal open in the sky, starting to suck everything up; the same happens to multiple places in the world like, Radiant Town, Cliffside Village, The Cayon Market and Winterburg . It then shifts to Amy, the Chaotix, Blaze, Silver, Tangle and Whisper in Radiant Hill trying to escape the Rift, but they fail and get sucked in.

It shifts to Sonic who is relaxing in the Ancient Paradise eating a Chili Dog and drinking from a Coconut, taking the moment in. A nearby Flicky lands on Sonic’s Head; Sonic tells the Flicky to live life in freedom and fly where the Wind takes you. Suddenly the Earth Shakes and opens the Blue-Purplish Portal around the area, Sonic Says “Uh oh” and runs to Tails with the Tornado while seeing everything go into The Portal. Sonic & Tails board the Tornado just in time and investigate the The Portal, as they Get closer, get sucked in and can’t get out of it, the cutscene blacks out suddenly.

Sonic opens his eyes in a Blue and Purple Void and sees the Platyobot in front of him and asks why is in there; it’s revealed that's its Dr Starline in the Platyobot using the Master Emerald and Warp Topaz as the Power source. Sonic seems impressed that he has caused all the Chaos; Starline says that he has Eggman’s and his greatest adversary right at his fingertips. Sonic tries to joke with Starline, saying that are several enemies that are more worthy of being called his greatest adversary, including Chaos, Shadow and even says Infinte and Zavok are more of an adversary to sonic then an Eggman Fan-boy.

Dr Starline getting angry had enough and fights Sonic, Starline uses the seemingly Infinite Power to whoop the Blue Hedgehog, and he managed to succeed with this. Sonic seemingly on the thread of death was about to have a Blast from the Platyobot when a Yellow electric Energy Blast hits the Platyobot and someone shouting “LEAVE HIM ALONE!”.

Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Tangle and Whisper get ready to attack the Platyobot but get stunned from its attacks. More of Sonic’s friends come out of portals, the Chaotix, Silver, Blaze, Shadow, Rouge, Omega, Big, and surprisingly Eggman. He tells Dr Starline that he is an embarrassment to Villainy kind and will never Be Eggman’s Protege. While saying this, Dr Starline mocks him with his hands and mouth and Blasts Eggman Away. Starline tries to defeat Sonic but gets stopped by Shadow, using his Chaos Powers to weaken him. Seeing his Power meter is very low, he turns on a shield and recharges it. Using this opportunity, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Tangle and Whisper go to find the 7 Chaos Emeralds while the rest of the group try to hold off the Platyobot.

When they Get all of the Chaos Emeralds, the group who Were holding Off the Platyobot have passed out; they gather around sonic, using the Chaos Emeralds to turn him into Super Sonic. Super Sonic rushes towards the Platyobot and fights it for one final Battle with the help of the Resistance. While in the Fight, Sonic says the he shouldn't his super form for an Eggman fanboy who is a little power-hungry and should use it for earth destruction beasts like Chaos Or the Biolizard. Dr Starline dismisses this and Still fights him.

Aftermath

Sonic manages to beat the Platyobot and save the entire world from the rule of Dr Starline, doing this everything went back to its restored place. The Resistance, Eggman and The Platyobot land in Radiant Hill. Sonic runs to the now destroyed Platyobot, taunting him that no matter what the causes or opponent he comes across he will also come on top; the resistance follows him and mocking and belittling Dr Starline. Then Eggman walks up to Dr Starline, Starline in a vulnerable state asks him if he will never be a good villain, Eggman ; Eggman looks at the Platyobot and seems impressed that he advanced the design of the Death Egg Robot but putting his own Spin-on it. Eggman says “Welcome to the Team Dr Starline” Dr Starline seems delighted to be working with Eggman again. Eggman, However, he says that he’ll need to work on his own terms to be his protege, He follows Dr Eggman to work on their next plan.

A day later, the resistance is celebrating Sonic’s Birthday While celebrating defeating Dr Starline in Green Hill Zone. Vector, Amy, Omega, Rouge, Silver and Tangle are playing cards, Episo and Blaze talk about different fighting techniques while Big and Knuckles are having an arm wrestle. Tails give Sonic his Birthday present; he gives sonic a book detailing all of the things that happened in his life, from when he first fought Eggman all those years ago in South Island to when he just defeated Dr Starline. Meanwhile, in the corner, Whisper is standing quietly from all the Buzz; Tangle notices this and stops playing cards with the group. She walks to her and talks to her about her, Tangle says she will never understand her but sense that she has a complicated past, Whisper nods her head. Tangle says that she should trust these new people. Whisper nods and goes with Tangle to play Cards.

Without a Shadow of a doubt

Sonic looks around to see everyone is here apart from Shadow, Rouge reminds Sonic that Shadow will always do everything his own way, Sonic says that he will change that. Sonic spots Shadow on the Coast Of Green Hill looking at the sea. Sonic says that he knew he would find him here and asks what's wrong as they have defeated The Major Evil. Shadow says that he needed to do more to protect humanity; Shadow says that he made a promise to Maria that he would protect humanity at all costs, saying that when he “died” he fulfilled his promise. When he was revived he still would give that Promise but felt like each evil he faced he was failing her promise. Also saying he doesn't need friends to live life or doing anything else as he would feel like he had failed his promise to humanity and Maria Sonic says;

“Shadow, you haven't failed your promise; Maria wouldn't have wanted you to do this 24/7; she probably wanted you to live the life she never had. I know I can't speak for her but I have a feeling she wouldn't have wanted you do to this, instead Open your heart, Live & Learn to what life has to give to you, we’re the Heroes of this world and if Villains like Eggman think if it’s his world they Are wrongly mistaken. So Reach for the Stars there is endless possibilities for A Wonderful World. You could sing or knit do what ever you want It doesn't matter!, Fist Bump”?

Shadow fist bumps Sonic and thanks him for saying this to him and will take this in heart, Sonic asks to Race Shadow. Shadow agreeing, starts Immediately. Sonic says “Wait” and rushes to Shadow, ending Sonic Recon

100% Ending

If the Player 100% the game, (meaning they have to S Rank every Stage, Complete every Act and Mission, Collect every Emblem, Red-Ring and Extra), They’ll Unlock a extra cutscene.

Dr Eggman and Dr Starline walking to a covered pod, Dr Starline asks Dr Eggman what it is, Dr Eggman answers: “It’s a Present for Sonic & His friends for that lovely welcome back!” Orbot & Cubot enter the room, looking scared, and say that his new project is too dangerous running the schematics on it, Dr Eggman dismisses and say they most know he’s back, unveiling it to the horror Orbot & Cubot, the curiousness of Dr Starline and the excitement Dr Eggman. The Project in question is a Virus with Eggman’s Face on it.

Gameplay

Sonic Recon is 3D third-person action Platformer video game akin to The Adventure Games. The player controls Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Tangle and Whisper in one big storyline each with their own gameplay. Depending on the zone, the minimum of mandatory Acts is 2 and the maximum is 6, although characters will be able to play optional acts in that zone with the other playable characters that are not playable in the zone. Between stages are Hub worlds which have NPC's that can be talked to, extra collectables and Entrance stages for Each Zone.

There is also the Resistance HQ that can access the different Zones via a world map like Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Forces, Their extra missions, normal acts and Hub worlds. The Player can also access the customisable character option and the extras, (Music, Concept Art, Cutscenes and Hints). After completing an act you will rank from S-E, Ranks A, B, C, and D will reward you with a Emblem. a E rank while allow the player to go to the access part of the game but will not be reward them with a Emblem. Getting S Rank will give the player An extra emblem. Ranks will also reward EXP to upgrade Characters and Customisable options for the Playable Characters and Avatar Recon. Emblems do lock progression however like Medal collecting from the HD version of Sonic Unleashed.

Levels

There are 12 Zones in Sonic Recon, being mostly original creations, these include.

• Radiant Hill: This level is the first level in the game and serves as the backdrop to most of the tutorials in the game. A Green Hill like area with a lot more water and multiple Villages. Act 1 is a Sonic stage, running through the area in broad daylight. Act 2 is a Amy Stage in the evening, transitioning to a hill like an area to a Town. Act 3 is a Knuckles Stage in the Night that is entirely in the Village part of Radiant Hill. The Zone’s Boss is Rough and Tumble, fought by Sonic and Knuckles

• Cliffside Forest: A Mountainous Forest area with gondolas around the mountains for better and safer transportation. Act 1 is a Sonic Stage at day, starting in the forest and ending In the mountains. Act 2 is a Tails stage in the evening completely set in the Mountainous area of Cliffside Forest, and is a race against time level. Act 3 is a Whisper Stage in the Night and is completely set in the Forest area Of Cliffside Forest. The Zone’s Bosses are Shadow fought by Sonic and Mimic fought by Whisper.

• Sky Egg: This Level takes place inside and outside of the Egg Carrier and is heavily based on Sky Deck and Hot shelter from Sonic Adventure, Act 1 is a Sonic Stage primarily set in the outside of Sky Egg and only Goes inside at the end Of the Act. Act 2 is a Tails Stage racing against sonic in the same stage but made a lot easier. Before the 2 Acts, there is a Tornado stage. The Zone’s Boss is Neo Metal Sonic, fought by Sonic

• Radioactive Factory: Takes Place in a abandoned Eggman Base from the war that has tiny sparks of Energy to power the Badniks and Factory. Act 1 is a Sonic Act, set in parts of the outside and the inside of the Factory with trains acting as transport. Act 2 is a Knuckles Act set in the Badnik Factory of the Factory, Act 3 is a Whisper Act that takes place in the Energy Plant of the Factory. The Zone’s Boss is E-107 Theta, fought by Knuckles

• Neon City: This takes in a high tech city which is supposedly a rebuilt version of Metropolis from Sonic Forces. Act 1 is a Sonic Act that takes place in the Highway. Act 2 is a Tangle Act that takes place on the skyscrapers of the City. Act 3 is a Tails act racing Dr Starline in Sonic’s Stage. The Zone’s Bosses is A Death Egg Sentinel, Fought by Sonic & Tangle and Dr Starline fought by Tails

• Rocky Junkyard: This takes place in a rocky canyon area which has an arena made from the Death Egg and a mineshaft. Act 1 is a Sonic Act that takes Place in the open canyon, which leads the industrial Rock then leads to using Rails to go to the Death Dome, Act 2 is a Tangle Act which takes place in the Cayon Market, where most of the residents of Rocky Junkyard live in. Act 3 is a Knuckles Act and takes place in the Volcanic and Haunted Mineshaft of Rocky Junkyard. The Zone’s Boss is Dr Starline, fought by Sonic.

• Frost Hill: An Icy Mountain area which has Docks for fishing. Act 1 is a Sonic Act that takes place in the mountainous Area, then going down to The Bottom of Frost Hill, Act 2 is a Tangle Act and Takes place in the bottom of Frost Hill and partially an underwater level. Act 3 is a Amy Act and takes place in the Mountainous area and transistions to a Icy Cave. The Zone’s Boss is Mimic, fought by Sonic

• Festival Night: A Festival and Amusement area and the spiritual successors to Carnival Night and Casino Night. Act 1 is a Sonic Act, taken place in the whole festival area, Act 2 is a Tails act which is a entirely new Act and takes place in the parade section, Act 3 is a Amy Act taken place inside a factory in the festival, Act 4 is a Tangle Act taking place in the casino/Carnival section of the festival. The Zone’s Boss is the Egg Mc, fought by Amy

• Ancient Paradise: A Exotic Beach, Jungle and Ruins Area. Act 1 is a Sonic Act which takes place in the majority of the Zone, Act 2 is a Tails Act racing against Sonic in the Beach to Jungle Area, Act 3 is a Knuckles completely set in the Jungle Area, Act 4 is a Whisper Set Completly in the Beach Area and ending in the Jungle. The Zone’s Boss is the Sea Dragon, fought by Sonic or Tails

• Angel Assault: The Return of Angel Island. Act 1 is a Sonic Act set in the Jungle; Act 2 is a Knuckles Act first set in Mushroom Hill and ends fighting Badniks near the Eggman shrine. Act 3 is a Robot Storm with Amy, Tangle and Whisper. The Zone’s Bosses is Super Metal Sonic, fought by Knuckles, Master Overlord, fought by Sonic and then the Tornado. Before this, there is a Tornado Act going to Angel Island

• Eggtropolis: Eggman’s Rebuilt Lair, which is a mix of Eggmanland from Sonic Unleashed and Imperial City from Sonic Forces. Act 1 is a Sonic Act, going through the City, Factory, Cyberspace and the Amusement Park, ending in the centre of the city. Act 2 is a Tails Act primarily set in the City, racing against the Clock ending fighting with Dr Starline. Act 3 is a Knuckles Act, primarily set in the Badnik Factory, ending with a fight with Tumble. Act 4 is a Amy act set in the Underground/Train Station of the City ending with a fight with Metal Sonic. Act 5 is a Tangle Act set in the Amusement Park Of the City ending with the fight with Rough the Skunk. Act 6 is a Whisper Act set in the cyberspace section of Eggtropolis ending with a fight with Mimic the Octopus. The Zone’s Original Boss is the Egg Slayer. Before this, there’s a Tornado Act going to Eggtropolis.

• The Collision of Dimensions: A Blue and Purplish Void similar to Nullspace and the final level of the game. Act 1 is a combined level with Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Tangle and Whisper exploring past level layouts and looks. The Zone’s Boss is the Platyobot. Before this, there’s a short Tornado Act going into the Void.

Levels have been designed with 2D & 3D gameplay. however unlike the boost games the levels are primarily 3D. In addition, The game also features hub-worlds, that are set in the same environments as the action stages and players also are able to walk around the environment freely and speak to townspeople, even gaining items from them. However, this overworld can be completely ignored at most points should the player prefer to simply play through all the stages.

Character Specfic Gameplay

Sonic The Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog's gameplay is, for the most part, the same as that from the adventure games and normal Sonic games and involves High-speed gameplay and the more refined return of the parkour gameplay from Sonic Lost World. The fastest of the character roaster, Sonic can perform an Spin Dash to gain instant speed in seconds and use a Homing Attack to target an obstacle or enemy and attack them.

Sonic can also use new and returning abilities throughout the game by using EXP To upgrade Sonic. These abilities are the light-speed dash from Sonic Adventure 2 and Heroes, the Bounce from Sonic Adventure 2, the Rocket accel from Sonic Heroes and the Wall-jump From Sonic Unleashed. New abilities include the Drop-dash from Sonic Mania, A super-Bounce that can be Charged up and used like the Stomp from Sonic Generations. The Slide-dash, a new way to gain speed and to attack enemies by sliding and the Sonic Wind, a move by which that can be used for an air-dash or An offensive move.

Some sonic stages also include mach speed sections like Sonic 06 but are more boost based like Sonic Unleashed or Sonic Generations. In this, the player will press a Button of the corresponding console and will try to fill a boost meter to the fullest it can be, depending on how high it is the faster sonic will go, if it's empty or near empty, the player will lose a life.

Miles “Tails” Prower

Tails Gameplay is more akin to his Gameplay in Sonic Adventure and Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 than his gameplay from Sonic Adventure 2. Tails will either have two conditions for his stages. One is race against time to get to the checkpoint as Fast as possible. The other gameplay style is racing against an opponent, like Sonic, Dr Starline or Dr Eggman, like Sonic Adventure but a lot harder. Tails can also use few gadgets, A electronic arm cannon which can be used to shoot badniks; he can also charge the arm cannon when it's depleted and strafe while doing this. A Fake Ring Bomb, which When detonated, spreads fake rings that Hurt multiple Badniks and a Grapple ring which can be used to grapple onto different Objects and surfaces.

Tails unlockable abilities are straight out Sonic Adventure, with his Rapid Tails attack, his ability to fly Faster and longer. However he can unlock 2 new abilities, A slower Spin-dash and a flight cancel.

Knuckles the Echidna

Knuckles gameplay is entirely new for the character, having more a beat-em-up and combat style of gameplay akin to the Werehog From Sonic Unleashed. However, Knuckles will still have series Staple abilities like Gliding and Digging. Knuckles will be able to use a multitude of combos that can be used throughout his levels, if the player button mashes, uses the same and basic combos, skipping most of the enemies that don't lock the stage and not getting enough rings or exp points, they will not get a rank higher than a D. However if they use more complex combos, using different Combos, fighting a good amount of enemies and collecting enough things, the player will Obtain Higher Ranks.

Knuckles upgrades are only new fighting skills and different combos that he can use in his levels, like a spin move or a Firey charge punch.

Amy Rose

Amy’s Gameplay is very similar to her gameplay from Sonic Adventure but vastly improved, for one she is faster than her adventure gameplay, While being the slowest Character On the roster. Her gameplay is more focused on Platforming and Puzzles rather Than High-Speed Gameplay. She can also use her Piko-Piko Hammer for a higher jump or Beating up Badniks.

Amy’s Upgrades include being Faster and more Hammer techniques like a Spin attack, the ability to throw her hammer and a charge attack.

Tangle the Lemur

Tangle’s Gameplay is a mix of Any’s Adventure gameplay and the Custom Avatar from Sonic Forces. She will be able to use her long tail to attack enemies by grappling them, which is slower than Sonic’s homing attack but can grapple and attack as many enemies as she can, similar to the laser wisp, and to grapple onto specific surfaces and can be used to swing herself To other places. She also has a Stomp/Bounce ability similar to Sonic’s, she can also do a super bounce which can be done up to 3 times, each going higer and higher

She is the only Character who doesn't gain any new abilities, instead only gains stat Upgrades

Whisper the Wolf

Whisper the Wolf is an adaptation of the Avatar gameplay from Sonic Forces. Her abilities are wisp based, instead of collecting Individual Wip Capsules, She can Switch Between a multitude of Wisps in real-time that deplet a Universal Wisp Meter, She can only equip 5 Wisps at a time with The White Wisp always being equipped. The Wisps when you can first play her include:

• White Wisp: This will allow her to shoot lasers
• Hover Wisp: This will allow her to float in the Air for a few Seconds, She can also perform the Light-Speed Dash
• Burst Wisp: This will allow her to double Jump
• Drill Wisp: This will allow to Dash in the Ground or in Mid-Air
• Laser Wisp: This Will allow her to go through Blue Diamonds and enemies
• Lighting Wisp: This will allow her to whip enemies which would stun them and also serves as a Grappling Hook

Her unlockable abilities are all Unlockable Wisp Powers including a few new ones, these include

• Spike Wisp: This will allow her to Perform a stronger Spin-dash that can only be used when standing still, She will also be able to Shoot spikes from the Wispon
• Rocket Wisp: This will all her to Shoot a maximum of 3 Homing Rockets at few enemies before depleting, the last one being the Biggest and strongest
• Cube Wisp: This will allow her to turn nearby Enemies and Blue Coins into cubes and vice verse, She will be also perform the Stomp Ability.
• Void Wisp: This will allow her to create temporary Black holes that will suck Enemies into it
• Jade Wisp: This will allow her to turn invisible for a few seconds, letting her go through walls
• Asteroid Wisp: This will allow her to create up to 3 clones of herself
• Bomb Wisp: This will allow her to shoot one Big Bomb that will act as a screen nuke
• Freeze Wisp: A Completely New Wisp which will allow her to freeze nearby Water into ice and Enemies
• Bubble Wisp: Another New Wisp that will trap Badniks into Bubbles and will allow her to have more time underwater

Recon Mode

The Main Story Mode of Sonic Recon, they have 2 different options

Normal Mode

This mode is the normal mode of the game, having ranks,lives, emblem count and levelling up.

Casual Mode

This mode have no lives, no ranks, no emblem count and no levelling up, they also have the addition of losing only 10 rings when getting hit as opposed to 20.

Time Trials

Beating levels to record a time, then either racing your ghost or downloading other people ghosts

Battle Network

The Multiplayer mode from 2-4 Players, they also allow CPUs, they have every sonic stage in the game the modes include

• Race, racing against a foe to the end of the level, the characters can fill up a meter to do either a Speed attack to race through the stage, or Power Attack to hinder the other player

Amy Rose Amy is a cheerful, though slightly erratic girl, with a positive attitude and boundless energy. However, she has a scary temper and her infatuation with Sonic makes her shortsighted and a bit obsessive about him, having followed him everywhere since meeting him. Nevertheless, she has a pure heart and will not let Anything stops her. Now more mature and leading the newly reformed Resistance, she is ready to kick some bot. Tangle the Lemur Tangle is scrappy and loves to tangle with bad guys. Not intimidated by danger in the slightest, she has a thirst for adventure and excitement. However, her desire for adventures makes her reckless and prone to jump head-first into danger without a care in the world. She can also be somewhat careless in battle, like using her tail in a way that gets it injured and focusing more on cheering than watching out for enemies. Tangle is loud and excitable, but also friendly, polite, helpful and open. While having seen and overcome her own fair share of challenges in the form of Badniks, she is a novice heroine, and has thus seen little of the more outlandish subjects that exist out there, like a pyrokinetic princess from another dimension who guards fiery Emeralds. While such signs tend to leave her speechless, she is nonetheless quick to be amazed by them. Whenever she sees or reflects on something exciting, she tends to get starry-eyed. When reacting to a sudden sound or event, the hairs on her tail stand up. Whisper The Wolf Whisper is a rather mysterious individual with a quiet and withdrawn personality. Very soft-spoken, she speaks infrequently and, true to her name, in a very low volume, rarely uttering more than a few words at a time. Whisper used to be more outspoken and cheerful, but due to the trauma that Dr. Eggman and Mimic caused her, she grew much more silent and reserved. When in social situations, Whisper usually exhibits a rather bashful side of herself. Non-Playable Good Shadow the Hedgehog Shadow is A brooding loner. He usually acts with a cool and businesslike indifference, only occasionally showing his vulnerable side. He is rarely seen with others for an extended period of time and usually distances himself from essentially everyone. He is usually blunt and does not speak much, but he always knows exactly what to say in combat. However, Shadow never bluffs. If he makes a threat, he has every intention of carrying it out. Shadow also does not mind boasting about how powerful he is, calling himself the "Ultimate Lifeform" and, like Sonic, can be extremely arrogant, often belittling his opponents and insulting their lack of strength. He believes no one can beat him and tends to see anyone as a fool for challenging him. Shadow also has a ruthless and merciless edge in combat that most other characters in the series lack and displays a natural "killer instinct". Shadow's infamous ruthlessness and aggression lead to enemies never treating him lightly; he is one of the very few people Sonic takes seriously. Alongside his dark and violent demeanor, Shadow can be smug and stubborn. He treats others in a very callous manner, throwing in his opinion no matter how cold-hearted it is and not caring for whatever the response is. Shadow is also shown to have a sharp wit. While Shadow doesn't seem like he doesn't care about humanity or his companions, he does deeply care about them and would do anything to help them despite his outlandish methods at points. Rouge the Bat Rouge is a strong-minded young woman. A fearless, ambitious, independent, flirtatious, greedy, calculating narcissist who most people see as only caring for herself and gems. she is also referred to as a temptress, due to her seductive ways. Her carefree and playful attitude can be fun to some characters, like the easygoing Sonic, or annoying for others, like the gruff Knuckles. She can also show a bashful side. Despite this Rouge has somewhat of a sense of Justice, knowing what’s right from wrong seen with the Mr Tinker situation this could be also linked to being a G.U.N Agent. Rouge is in short, an enigma, as her motivations are always in question. In truth, she is usually just out for herself. She is smart, sassy, and seductive, and knows how to get what she wants. Once she has a target in mind, she always goes for it, regardless of the costs. Beneath her ditsy exterior though, she is a calculating realist and her motives are always mercenary in nature. Regardless, she is loyal to her closest friends and has more than once helped Sonic and his allies save the world. E-123 Omega E-123 Omega is a robot created by Dr. Eggman as the last and most powerful of the doctor's E-Series robots, only to be deactivated and sealed in an abandoned base to guard Shadow the Hedgehog who was in suspended animation in a stasis capsule. Furious at having his power wasted in this way, Omega swore revenge on Eggman. Rouge the Bat then accidentally reactivated Omega when trying to free Shadow and she soon convinced the two of them to join together as Team Dark to track down their mutual enemy. Although Omega failed to achieve his goal at the end of his team's adventure, he has continued to pursue his mission, occasionally coming to the aid of his allies and other heroes. Too do this, he joined rouge to be a G.U.N Agent to peruse his goal. Omega's only goals in life are to take revenge on Eggman for wasting his potential and destroy the doctor's other robots to prove himself superior. These two goals are absolute above all else in Omega's eyes. As a result, he tends to be extremely headstrong, reckless, aggressive and destructive and decimating anything that gets in his way. Omega is fairly loyal and dependable when one is on his good side, a bit of a holdover from his original purpose as a servant, and he's not incapable of looking past differences to forge alliances. He also genuinely cares more for Shadow and Rouge as allies, and trusts their word over everyone else's. In addition, he will temporarily abandon his vengeful quest against Eggman (or even indirectly work with him) if he detects a bigger threat. Vector the Crocodile Vector is easy-going, loud-mouthed and has the heart of a child. The brains behind the Chaotix Detective Agency's operations, Vector is a true leader that keeps a cool head even in the most difficult situations. Unfortunately, his position as leader tends to get to his head, which often leaves Vector split between the "bossy" and "easy-going" parts of his nature. Nevertheless, Vector enjoys his profession as a leader and detective. He takes his profession seriously and uses his powers of deduction and common sense to solve any case with dignity and respect, although he is not above showing them off. Vector normally displays a tough exterior. He speaks in a rough tone and may not sweat the details.He likewise quick to start a fight, often taking an aggressive approach when facing troubles, but he is always on the side of the weak. Despite his aggressive approach though, he is able to find a peaceful solution to a problem, though he will only do so as a last resort. Deep down, Vector is a gentle giant with an optimistic viewpoint and a wealthy personality. While keeping a calm head and a decisive determination when on a case, Vector can at the same time show a cool and relaxed sense of humor with some attitude. At the same time, Vector is charismatic and charming, allowing him to get along well with others no matter how different they may be, which is especially apparent in his close friendship with Espio and his occasional engagement in groups outside of Team Chaotix, such as Team Vector or Team Rose. Equally, Vector cares deeply for his friends and is always loyal to them. Espio the Chameleon Espio is a straight-laced detective, Espio is serious, practical, intelligent and wise. He has a militaristic discipline despite being quiet, calm and laid-back. Espio is additionally portrayed as being stubborn, opinionated and self-obsessed. Despite this, he has an excellent drive to all that he does and flourishes off of peril, getting himself into threatening situations to flex and polish his ninja skills, and, due to his extensive training, he can confront these troubles head-on unconcerned by danger. Espio is a calm and quiet person, but also overly cautious and disciplined. However, his wariness and soulful character makes him a vital member of Team Chaotix, where his presence plays an important role as a restraint among his coworkers, who tend to be optimistic and energetic. Espio likewise thrives on the dangers of his missions, and although he is quite confident in his ninjutsu, he feels it is aesthetically pleasing to stay in the shadows as a ninja should. Among his colleagues, Espio's opinionated attitude serves a key role in Team Chaotix, allowing him to reign in and balance out the more optimistic and zany behaviors exhibited by Vector and Charmy. Charmy Bee Charmy is Good-shaped yet sloppy, he is also hyperactive, scatterbrained and not too bright. As a child, he loves to play above all else, and he can always be seen flying Around energetically. Due to his age, Charmy is not as skilled a detective as Vector or Espio and copies them at points, but he is nonetheless valuable to the team. Although he is a certified detective, this frivolous and scatterbrained bee is more akin to a mood maker who helps excite Team Chaotix and make his coworkers look professional. He as well generally seen by others as his detective agency's entertaining and incredibly cute mascot.Regardless, he is an excellent flier and possesses a sharp stinger to boot. Good-shaped yet sloppy, Charmy is a hyperactive and scatterbrained funny-kid. Not remarkably clever, Charmy is the type of person who takes action first and asks questions later, and when he realizes the error he has made, it is too late. Charmy is curious, playful, always upbeat, and likes to fool around and crack jokes. In fact, as a child, he loves to play above all else (especially work), and he can always be seen flying around energetically. When the team is receiving their first mission at the beachy Seaside Hill, Charmy is hovering around singing "Sea, sea, sea". However, he works hard to help his partners. Not known for his temperament, Charmy is generally good natured and light-hearted, and does not get angry very often. When he does get provoked however, he often introduces the source of his anger to his stinger and delivers a painful sting to them. Due to his age, Charmy is not the best of detectives. However, he is the life of the party who enlivens the Chaotix Detective Agency with his cheerfulness and carefree attitude.Also, he is super-keen. In addition, because his childlike innocence gives him a viewpoint his elder coworkers does not have, he has excellent intuition, and he often points out things that no one else would notice. Charmy is also great at coming up with ideas that that no one would think of. This makes him an essential member of the Chaotix Detective Agency. If any puzzling cases occur, Charmy will be on the case with his flexible mind. Cream the Rabbit Cream is very polite, well-mannered and pure, though she can be childish and naïve. She is full of curiosity and tries her best in everything she does. Though young, she is not afraid to stand up for herself and will always be there to help out her friends. Just as Tails isthe sidekick of Sonic, Cream serves the same purpose for Amy Rose and Blaze the Cat. Originally living an idyllic life with her family, Cream had a chance encounter with Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends when the evil Dr. Eggman entered her world, and soon began joining them on their adventures. She is able to achieve flight by flapping her large ears. Sweet-natured, Cream does not have a bad bone in her body. As such, she is honest, innocent and has a generally happy attitude. She is similarly very considerate, charitable and friendly, always eager to lend her friends a hand whenever the situation calls for it and tries to be close to everyone she meets. For this reason, she is loved by everybody. Cream is likewise extraordinarily brave, courageous and noble for someone her age, not afraid to face danger for the sake of those she cares about. She is likewise full of curiosity and has a thirst for knowledge. She is also not afraid to voice her anger and disgust, but never does so in a rude way. A spirited go-getter, Cream is very hardworking and always tries her best in everything she does. Because of her curiosity, Cream loves fun and adventures and is always eager to bravely charge off into the next one. However, she can also be somewhat rash, as she has been known to charge into adventures without really taking into account the dangers she can end up facing on her own, thus leaving her in situations beyond her capabilities. Because of her age and upbringing though, she is a little naïve and simple-minded at times. As such, she does not always see things right away and can accidentally speak out others' flaws or get herself in over her head when wrapped up in other people's problems. Despite this, she has grounded personality that helps her being the all-important restraint for her team. She can also be sensitive and childish,being prone to start crying over smaller things, misfortune or sadness in general. She also tends to scoff and pout childishly when people treat her like a little kid, especially when it is because she cannot go on an adventure. Cream is one who enjoys the simpler things in life and loves spending most of her time outdoors playing with her friends or collecting flowers. Indoors, she enjoys watching TV. Cream loves being happy and seeing others the same way, and hates seeing others sad. As such, she is a pacifist and detests violence G-merl G-merl/Gemeral is a robot created by Dr. Eggman from Emerl's data,making him a revised version of his predecessor. G-merl once aided the doctor in his attempts to stop Sonic and his friends from foiling one of his plans, but wound up betraying Eggman to cause mayhem. After his defeat, he was reprogrammed in the image of his predecessor and lived with Cream and Vanilla, He sometimes aided Sonic & Friends on their missions but would prefer a more relaxing life. Gemerl is designed to be a learning robot, making him capable of growing wiser and developing with each new experience. Possessing an artificial intelligence, he is likewise capable of making independent decisions. Originally though, all Gemerl cared about was fighting and destroying. After being reprogrammed by Tails however, Gemerl became a gentle and caring robot towards his friends and adopted family. Gemerl is greatly devoted to Cream and her family, and will defend them by any means necessary. He is in fact so devoted to those he protects that he tends to go too far in his execution, like attacking a friend or innocents when he deduces that they are posing a threat, willingly or not. He will also not hesitate to use lethal force against his opponents. While these actions may make him seem like a jerk (as Sonic puts it) or even a ruthless machine just following his programming, they can actually be traced back to a genuine emotional desire to protect those he care about. As a testament to this, Gemerl is able to show regret about his actions and admit mistakes in his procedures. Gemerl uses a very robotic and computer-based speech pattern. He also tends to take comments too literally. Outside of that, he is remarkably life-like, being able to make gestures and understanding arguments that apply to emotional and moral values. He also appears to possess somewhat of a temper, as he does not take kindly to insults directed at him. Big the Cat Big is a gentle and easy-going, though somewhat dim-witted person with a heart of gold. He also possesses incredible strength and toughness that makes him one of Sonic strongest allies. He is also an expert fisherman. He is often giddy and optimistic, especially when with his friends. However, he is not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, as he has a short attention span and has a hard time understanding the simplest of jokes or things people say. Similarly, important things sometimes pass right through his mind. This doesn’t mean Big is stupid, however, but more so that he is a slow thinker. Quite comfortable with himself, Big acknowledges himself that he is not very intelligent without being burden by it. In fact, he is quite surprised himself when he realizes that he is right in an argument. In addition, his simple way of thinking lets him see important points that others, in their considerations of more complicated matters, have overlooked. Silver the Hedgehog Silver is a kindhearted and well-meaning individual, driven by a strong sense of justice to right the wrongs of the past to uphold peace, though he is somewhat naive and immature. Despite the monumental tasks he may have on hand, he is an optimist and will do whatever is required to protect the world. Silver is best described as having "a strong sense of justice" and it is this personality trait that motivates him to head back into the past to correct the future. He believes in standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. This led him to accept Blaze when everybody else was teasing her for her pyrokinetic abilities. Despite the initial boundaries separating them, Blaze now travels freely between her dimension and Sonic's to visit her friends or to prevent a dimension destruction event. A noble soul, Blaze is normally calm, solemn and level-headed, but tends to conceal her true feelings. She is often described as elegant, which is demonstrated through her body movements and her ballerina-like fighting style. Being royalty, Blaze is quite mannerly and typically maintains a relatively quiet, stoic and formal air among others. While Blaze gives the impression that she keeps her emotions in check, she is inwardly highly emotional. She possesses a fiery temper, and when she loses her composure she is quite frightening, aggressive, harsh, and prone to making bad decisions. She is similarly very serious about her position as princess and guardian of the Sol Emeralds, initially suspecting anyone even looking at the Emeralds the wrong way. Also, when dealing with enemies, she never holds back her strength and is not above the idea of using lethal force.She is usually highly disciplined and focused, never allowing herself to lose control, and can be quite stubborn and impatient once she has put her mind to something. Her intensive demeanor however, is motivated by her own genuine concern for others' safety. In truth, Blaze has a kind heart, and always stands up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. Because of her own self-imposed strict discipline though, she is often tense and frequently suffers from great self-pressure. Initially, she held a personal dislike of her pyrokinesis because it left her to bear her responsibilities alone and it made other children tease her for her inability to control it, which made her view her flames as a curse. She later learns to accept them from Sonic's advice and came to see them as a blessing. Because of her past and devotion to her duty, Blaze developed a habit of being self-reliant, which led her to building up walls between her and other people. This made her anti-social, withdrawn and shy. As a result, she would bottle up her secret feelings, leaving herself in an inner turmoil. She also lacks in social skills and has a hard time opening up and talking to people. She was also initially wary and curt towards strangers and frequently rejected offers to help, even becoming defensive and angry. This attitude also made her somewhat selfish as she berated Sonic's offers to help and eventually ended up fighting him. After interacting with Sonic, Cream and their friends, Blaze socially developed much more, making her more amiable, friendly and gentle towards others. She also came to understand the true meaning of friendship, making her willing to trust and accept help from others. While she still prefers handling things on her own and remains somewhat reclusive, she will accept her friends' help and is genuinely grateful for their aid. Recently, she is seemingly much more sociable, participating in Sonic's birthday party simply for the sake of friendship and is much quicker to open up and relax in front of her friends. Bad Dr Eggman The Arch-nemesis of Sonic the Hedgehog and his allies, wanting to rule the World. He is a short-tempered, raucous, pompous, and cruel evil genius who is constantly trying to take over the world. His primary motivation throughout most games is his psychotic belief of self-entitlement. Arrogant and narcissistic, he constructs his countless technological wonders in his own image to fuel his massive ego, usually reinforced by his goal of building the Eggman Empire, and doesn't care where he starts it. After ruling the world in his last scheme, Dr Eggman went missing but was soon found as This Mr Tinker Person, is this just a ruse or Has Doctor lost his memory? His main Purpose is to defeat sonic and be the most “perfected” version of sonic there is. After the War, Neo Metal Sonic was awakened too see that the whole Eggman Empire was destroyed and decided to oversee the Eggman empire. He is an intelligent machine with a very dark side. A cold-hearted, aggressive, and ruthless killer, he is obsessed with proving his superiority to Sonic and eliminating him for good to the point where he has rebelled against Eggman more than once to achieve his goal. However, he always fails in the end, only to later return more powerful than before. To this day, Metal Sonic remains one of Sonic's most dangerous foe especially when he is in his Neo form, meaning he can copy his foes bio data/fighting skills and use it for himself. Dr Starline Dr Starline is calm, suave, and sophisticated most of the time, exuding an arrogant sense of pride in his intellect and abilities. Rather formal in behavior, he often addresses others as "gentlemen". However, he is also ruthless, sinister, and cruel, as he was willing to force Eggman to be a part of an evidently painful procedure against his will to bring him back to normal. Showing contempt for weakness, he possesses exceptional willpower and an incredible drive. In addition to his intellect, Starline is quite manipulative. He can expertly use other people to his advantage in order to lure them into traps and knows exactly where to strike his foes where it hurts the most. Despite possessing a calm demeanor though, upon spending time with Eggman, Starline begins showing occasional bouts of anger and frustration (primarily directed at the doctor, himself). Despite this he shows a lot of respect for Eggman and his creations, so much so he calls him by his real name Robotnik as it is “disrespectful”. Rough & Tumble Rough & Tumble are aggressive Ruthless, cruel, violent (and not to mention) messy skunks who ran away from their posh parents. Rough is more ruthless and seemingly more intelligent (out of the 2 Bros), while Tumble have a bit of a soft side, but is more of Warmonger, loving to fight and brawl with every chance he gets, due to wanting to take revenge on the world for taking his Tail. Both use unruly and gassy fighting techniques to get the upper hand on situations. During the War they took over a Village, when Sonic & Knuckles took care of them, the swore to have their revenge on Sonic the Hedgehog. Mimic the Octopus Mimic the Octopus is known to be a person who has always sought prestige and riches. In keeping with his shapeshifting abilities and chaos Powers, he is untruthful and very manipulative. Mimic is quite sinister, ominous, and unapologetically violent in nature, showing no remorse for his actions and delighting in deceiving others, shown when he betrayed the Diamond cutters for Eggman due to getting his chaos powers from Eggman, also being promised unlimited riches. However, he also has a cowardly streak; he does not like causing much of a scene, relying on tactics to undermine and trick others into doing what he wishes, and fears those who are stronger than him, such as Metal Sonic or even Dr Starline. Orbot & Cubot The 2 Henchbots for Dr Eggman, created to aid in his schemes. Orbot is Serious and intelligent, He is loyal to Eggman. However, he does not like him very much, and his spiteful sarcasm sometimes provokes the anger of his creator. Cubot is loyal to Eggman, However he is dim-witted and lazy. He also has a faulty voice chip which causes him to randomly switch between different accents and personalities. Both now work for Neo Metal Sonic, Orbot still being loyal to him calling him “Big Brother”, still doesn’t like him very much and longs the return of Dr Eggman, Cubot is very loyal to Neo Metal Sonic, and is head over heels for him. Super Hard Mode Super Hard Mode was announced in December 8, 2021 and would have new DLC for each character starting from Late January. It would feature noticeably harder levels than the normal mode. Each DLC pack for each Super Hard Mode was based on one of the 6 playable characters of the game with 2 levels added to every Zone, one which is a harder version of the original stage in the game and another version which is a completely new stage. However when some news outlets got the game via cloud streaming it was seen with an average reception. Many players reported an abundance of glitches including sound effects not playing and textures not loading properly. Very noticeable lag in cutscenes and gameplay leading to input delay, and frequent Crashes and Freezes. However it was noted that it was a previous build of the game and most of the issues would be fixed when a Demo was released to the public. The Demo released on September was received well many praising it for the new gameplay of Tangle & Whisper, the level design and graphics however people noticed that the cutscenes instead of being rendered at locked 60fps were now at a capped 30fps. Many aspects received well were the Graphics, Soundtrack, Level Design, Game Mechanics, Voice Acting, the Story and more however some critique was aimed and the many frequent times the game lagged, the emblem system being too similar to the Medal Collecting, the frequent and long loading times and some of the 100% process being too unforgiving. IGN Gave the game a 8/10 calling it a step-up from Sonic Forces in everyway, having stunning graphics and the fast paced gameplay “we knew and loved”, a decent story and being a lovely new way to celebrate 30 years of Sonic the Hedgehog. Gamespot gave the game a 8.5 out of 10 citing how the game is somewhat a successor to Sonic Adventure 2 and how they are not complaining, they also praised the new playable characters, the Story, graphics and the soundtrack however some criticism was aimed at the framedrops especially in the cutscenes, frequent minor glitches, the difficulty spikes, 100%ing the game and the emblem system. Eurogamer gave the Game a “Essential” rating calling the game the reason why the fell in love with Sonic The Hedgehog in the first place. Critics praised the story for taking itself more seriously without being “edgy”. Some also praised it without taking too much from the comics and adding it’s own spin on things. The Graphics and Soundtrack received acclaim, IGN calling it the “Pinnacle of Sonic The Hedgehog”. Gamespot also called the OST “Musical Bliss”. However, the Nintendo Switch Version received Mixed to average Reviews, Many Reviewers praised that the game is still great however criticised the inconsistent 30fps, some textures and models looking a lot worse, the pre rendered Cutscenes and some glitches not being present in any other version. Nintendolife gave the port a 7/10, calling the game fantastic, but said the Switch Version is a serviceable enough way to play the game dismissing the issues the version has. Sales Sales Wise Sonic Recon at the end of 2022 had over 4.5 Million Units sold over every console version, making it one of the best selling 3D Sonic Games. Accolades The Game was nominated for Best Family game of 2021 for The Game Awards, but was beaten by It Takes Two. The Game was also nominated for “Best Platformer” award from IGN but was beaten by Psychonauts 2. Destructoid also awarded it with “Best Platformer” but lost to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Trivia Console Differences There’s a Few differences between consoles each with improvements and problems The PS4 & Xbox One Versions run at a 720p resolution with a framerate of 60, however the 60fps & Resolution varies depending on the location/area It’s also to note that the Cutscenes are in-engine but Run at a inconsistent 30fps The PS4 Pro & Xbox One X Version Run at a more consistent 1080p 60fps, however still lag on the cutscenes The Nintendo Switch Version Run at 720p Docked and 480p Handheld with a intial inconsistent 30fps, it also has reduced texture quality, simpler lighting & models and pared back geometry detail compared to the other console versions. The Cutscenes are also pre-rendered and 60fps, this in turn makes them shorter too load but won’t load any custom parts that the player has equipped, however there is some exclusive features There’s Amiibo support, which allows you to unlock exclusive Nintendo Based Skins, some amiibo give you random skins from the game already There is a In-game achievement system, if you complete all the Achievements, You’ll get a exclusive Gold Character Skins which will be available for other consoles in late 2022 The PS5, Xbox Series X Version & PC version run at a Consistent 60fps and at a 4K Resolution. Issue 3 takes place in the Night The Backstory of Mimic and Whisper are hinted to be different The Egg Carrier is used instead of a Random Egg Fleet Ship The 2 Worlds retcon is now confirmed in the game when sonic says to Mr Tinker ”Don’t You remember when you split the other world into several Pieces?” This also confirms that the 2 worlds aren’t different continuities but rather 2 separate societies Eggman doesn't act immediately with the Metal Virus Plan Tangle has a Backstory linked to Mimic, in the comics, there is no mention of it Issue 8 has the addition of Blaze and Knuckles The time of day when Issue 8 takes place is day in recon and Night in the Comics Winterburg is radically different in the comics; it's more of a city in the Comics, in recon it's more of a village in the Docks Rough & Tumble aren’t mentioned as mercenaries when taking over the Town There’s a Reason why Dr Starline found out about Mr Tinker location instead of Randomly finding him The Warp Topaz has attributes of the Tricores later in the Comics increasing the Users Speed, Power and Flight (which allows them to fly) In addition it allows them to slow down time and fast-forward time and shoot energy Blasts from their hand The Battle of Angel Island has the addition of Omega, Gemerl, Big and Cream in the battle along with countless other soldiers
