Sonic OverRun is a 2017 Action-Platformer Game developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega. It have gameplay similar to Modern Stages in Sonic Generations. However, there is a new mechanics such as Gravity Boost and character switching. It was realesed for PC, Xbox ONE, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. It also introduces 5V5 Multiplayer Mode called Sonic Strikers. Sonic Team and BirdX Games on 27 March 2017 that Sonic Overrun will recive a sequel called Sonic OverDrive.

Stages[]
Sonic in the stage Nightride Act 1.
Gameplay of the Action Stages are very similar to the Sonic Generations Modern stages. However there is a brand new Ability called Gravity Boost that lets you walk up vertically on Buildings, Hills ETC. There is also new Character Switching Mechanic. player beggins stage as Sonic, but when there is a obstacle that Sonic cannot beat, you must press W/Y/Triangle/X to change Sonic to required character to pass the obstacle. When you beat the stage or in Upgrade Menu you can Upgrade your Characters to give them new abilities. And some parts of the Stages, you can find wisp buttons that lets you use Wisp that you buyed in the Shop. With Wips you can reach areas that wasn't able reach without them. But, they are not reqiured to clear the stage.
Hub Worlds[]
Similar to Sonic Adventure and Sonic Unleashed Sonic OverRun have Hub Worlds. There you can enter Stages, Talk to people, Do missions and find hidden items and locations with Dungeon Bases and Buy Wisps and another good stuff etc. There are four Hub Worlds in the game- The City, The Star Isoland, The Submarine and the extra hub called The Infinity Dimension. Wips buttons can be aslo find there.
Sonic Strikers[]
Sonic Strikers is 5V5 Online Multiplayer mode. There are two team with their own Master Emeralds. Objective is destroy the Ememy master Emerald, but you must aslo defend your own against Second Team. There are Five Maps there. They are Island Coast, Speed City, Cyber Hazardland, Bubble Seas and Cosmic Rush.
Chao Garden[]
Similar to Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Sonic OverRun have Chaos Garden Mode. It can be acessed in the main menu or in by entering Colonies in Hub worlds. Unlike SA1a2 theres now posible to change Chao Gardens Look. Now also can trade your Chao Online, Visit other players Chao Gardens and Befriend your and Friend's Chaos.
Dungeons[]
Dungeons can be found in all of the Hub Worlds. They are often in hidden locations. They Plays like Normal Stages. But, with some differences. At the first, they are much more Hardcore than regual Stages. And another differece are Hero Chepoints that lets you change Charcters. What you want to Swap in each parts of the Dungeon. When you beat one dungeon first time you get 15 000 Money., when second time you get 10 000 Money, when time third time you get 5 000 and if you beat it another time you get 1 000 Money.
The Story[]
Main Story[]
Sonic mysteriously wakes up in strange Futuristic City without any memory what happenend in last several hours. So have wants to explore it around. Some time after it, he finds Tails. Tails for some reason rebembers what happened. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Rouge, Silver, Blaze chased Eggman because he have all 7 Chaos Emeralds. Sonic and Shadow sucessfully defeats him and gets the Emeralds. Shortly after that Green Colored Hedgehog called Shaineros appears and attacks Sonic and steals the Emeralds. Sonic tries to get them back. However, Shaineros uses Chaos Control and sends Sonic and Friends to that City. Some time after that, Sonic and Tails finds Shaineros with Chaos Emeralds and some five unknown thinks (Multi Elements). Sonic decides to go after him. After Sonic got trought City at the Night. He finds Knuckles under Eggmans attack. Sonic defeats Eggman. Knuckles shows Sonic one of the Multi Elements that he stolen from Shaineros. After that Shaineros reviles Eggman, because he let Sonic, Tails A KNUCKLES escape. Sonic once again explores the city and finds the Greenhouse Colony. And Shaineros and Eggman in there with captured little girl. Sonic decides to save her. After Sonic reaches them, defeats them and saves the girl. The girl says she is Princess Sony the Hedgehog. She was in the city with her father King Cineres III. But, Shaineros captured her and wanted to tell where Sonic was. She said he aready died 6 000 years ago. She did not known any story about him travelling trought time here. He was the greatest king of my kingdom. Sonic after that realize he is in Future and he was king. Sony askes Sonic if is he really that Great Sonic and if he will get her back to the Castle at Star Island. After that Sonic buys a Transporter to fly to the island. Later on the Star Island. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Sony finds Amy captured by Shaineros. Sonic once again defeats him, saves Amy, steals him Second Multi-Element and 6 of his Chaos Emeralds. Shaineros however didn't had Seventh Chaos Emerald. Shaineros call Eggman to beggin counter attack with his Brand New Sky Fort. Sonic and his Friends tries to destroy the ship. But he is captured by some of Eggman's Robots. But, Shadow appears destroys the Robots. And saves Sonic. He aslo destroyed some Sky Fort's Systems and lets it fall. Shaineros sadly espcapes to Digital Casino. Sonic and friends found him there. Shadow attacks him and ask him where is the last Chaos Emerald and steals another Multi Element. Shaineros however sends the last fifth to Eggman, to defend him. And about that Chaos Emerald, he says: It was Sonic, he stoled it me in the past. I don't know where he leaved him. After that Shaineros is rescured from Shadow by Eggman and he escapes once again. Shadow tries to contact Rouge about Shaineros and Egggman. But, was too late. They begun to attack The Castle where Sony lives. Sonic decides to save it. After it Tails sends everyone out of the castle. Sonic meanwhile destroyed some robots. He gets to the Library and finds there mysterious hidden room. He breaks the door and finds there one book. The Legend of Evil Guardian. In that book, there is a writen Legend about Genial Scientist Prof. Heroins that cretated Multi-Elements. Powerful items that can combine Powers with Chaos Emeralds can make strongest think in the world. There was Five Hedgehogs that started to defend them against Evil. One Hedgehog guarded one Multi Element. They all lived in piece. Except for one, Shaineros. He wanted the ultimate power of Multi Elements and Chaos Emeralds. And killed all of the another Guardians. And earned all Five Multi-Elements. But, they can not give power without Chaos Emeralds. And he sreached for them Thousand of years. But, he never found. There's a legend about Blue Hedgehog that found the Emeralds. But, Shaineors stoled him them and send him trought time. Shaineros wanted to become Multi-Super Shaineros, Blue Hedgehog returned back to his time and stoped the transformation. He stoled him on of the Chaos Emeralds. And hide him in the Submarine near to Palmtree Island. No of the story was confirmed to be true. Sonic finally knows where the final Chaos Emerald is...... But Shaineros was hiding behind the corner and stoled the book and all of Sonic's Multi Elements. He knows where the Final Emerald is and he have all Multi Elements. And he went to find the Submarine. Sonic says this to his friends and they must find the Chaos Emerald before Shaineros. So Tails uses the Transporter once again to get to the Palmtreee Island. Some time after Sonic reaches the Island and the finds Blaze and Silver under attack of Some Eggman's Plamtreee Robot. Sonic Destroys it and saves them. Many hours later, Sonic finally finds Submarine and enters it. After long time of sreaching, he finds the Last Chaos Emerald. But, Shaineros was arledy there. He have all Multi-Elements and Chaos Emeralds and Becomes Multi-Super Shaineros. However, Sony uses some strange power, that can weaken Multi-Super Forms. Shaineros ratcher escapes to the deep space. (Multi-Super Forms can breatch everywhere). Later Tails tryes to discover, what Power Sony used. Tails explains explains that when Sony Born, she had Multi-Elements and Chaos Emeralds near to her. Multi Elements and Chaos Emeralds tried to make her Multi-Super. But she was too young to become even Super-Form. She probably Almost died. But, some smart guy saves her. But, Multi-Chaos Energy still remaid in her. Everyone hide it from her, no one thinked she is too old to know it. Thats why she weaked Super-Multi Shaineros. So Sonic and Sony must enter the Space and find Shaineros. Sony did not only can Weaken all kinds of Super-Forms. But, aslo shift Chaos/Multi Enegry from people. Tails builded a Rocket to enter the space. Sonic and Sony uses it. They gets to the Asteroid Galaxy. After going trought Asteroid Galaxy they Finds Shaineros fights him. Sony uses her Power and shifts enegry from Shaineros. But, Shaineros realeses his secret weapon to get the Energy back. The Multi Dragon. It's the Monster that Heroins created to do his and Guardian's Orders. Shaineros ordered Multi Dragon to kill Sonic and Sony. So, he can get the enegry back. Sonic and Sony however absorbes the Energy. And they becomes Multi-Super. They defeats the Dragon. But, Dragon's defeation makes Ultimate Time Exlosion that abosors everythinks then ends. So, Sonic and Sony must escape. They sucesslly dids that. But, Shaineros wasn't in any Super Form. Son, he falled into Ultimate Time Explosion. When everythink is ok! Sonic and Sony stops to be Multi-Super and Energy returns to their possition in Chaos Emeralds and Multi Elements. Sonic and his Friends was ready to use Chaos Emeralds to return to their time. But, Eggman was fast enough to be in time and returns back with Sonic. They returns just after Shaineros sended they in time. And Sonic steals one of his Emeralds and kicks him of the hill. Later hides the stolen Chaos Emerald in the Submarine. But at the end Sonic can be seen returning to the future. Because, Shaineros is back and wants Revenge. (The returning to the future scene is there for 2 reasons: 1. Birdx Games and Sonic team wanted to player can do backtracking to the hub worlds. But, those hub palces are in the future. So, they made reason, why is Sonic back in there. 2. It' like prologue to the Shaineros' Revenge DLC Campaing.)
Shaineros' Revenge[]
Sonic returns to the future. Because, when Shaineros falled to the Ultimate Time Explosion. He was saved by one of the by one of Eggman's robots. Now he wants to stop Sony use her Enegry Shifting Power. Sonic must get 10 Time Keys to open the Bridge Gate at the Mazzlan Asteroid and reaches Shaineros' Time Canon (Machine that can change Time Events). There beggins Sonic's Final Battle against Shaineros. Right at 10 seconds to canon's lauch. Tails hacks the Time Canon and begggins to is about to explode. Sonic escapes. But, Shaineros is not fast enough and falls to lava. Sonic now finally returns to it's time. But, he leaves Hologram versions of all characters (To make sence in backtracking once again).

Sonic the Hedgehog (ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ Sonikku za Hejjihoggu?, born June 23[6]) is the title character and main protagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog series and Sega's mascot. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog born with the ability to run faster than the speed of sound, hence his name, and possesses lightning fast reflexes to match. As his species implies, Sonic can also roll up into a concussive ball, primarily to attack enemies.
Miles 'Tails' Prower[]
Miles Prower (マイルス・パウアー Mairusu Pauā?), better known by his nickname, Tails (テイルス Teirusu?), is a fictional character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is an anthropomorphic fox cub born exclusively with two twin-tails, hence his nickname. Because of his abnormality, Tails was the subject of bullying during his youth. One day, however, he met Sonic the Hedgehog and was inspired to become as cool as him after seeing him run like the wind. Tails soon after began following Sonic on his adventures and has since become his best friend and sidekick. He is able to use his twin-tails to fly by rotating them like helicopter rotors and is a mechanic genius and aerial pilot.
Knuckles The Echidna[]
Knuckles the Echidna (ナックルズ・ザ・エキドゥナ Nakkurusu za Ekiduna?) is a fictional character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is an anthropomorphic echidna and the current guardian of the Master Emerald, a powerful ancient relic which is his solemn duty to protect from anyone who wants to abuse it. He is also the sole remaining descendant of the Knuckles Clan and last of the echidnas on earth. His dominant traits are his superhuman strength, and the two spike-like knuckles on each of his hands, from which his name is derived from, which he can use to dig with and climb up walls. He can also trap the wind under his dreadlocks to glide through the air.

Amy Rose (エミー・ローズ Emī Rōzu?), also formerly known as Rosy the Rascal (ロージー・ザ・ラスカル Rōjī za Rasukaru?), is a fictional character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. She is an anthropomorphic hedgehog with a major crush on Sonic the Hedgehog. Since meeting Sonic on Little Planet, Amy has become his self-proclaimed girlfriend and has attempted to win his heart by any means during their adventures. She wields the Piko Piko Hammer, a powerful melee weapon which she uses with skills second to none and never leaves home without.
Shadow the Hedehog[]
Shadow the Hedgehog (シャドウ・ザ・ヘッジホッグ Shadō za Hejjihoggu?) is a fictional character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog/Black Arm hybrid and the arch-rival of Sonic the Hedgehog. Shadow was created as the "Ultimate Life Form" (究極生命体 Kyūkyoku Seimeitai?) by Gerald Robotnik, using the DNA of Black Doom, and is the end result of Project Shadow. His purpose was to provide ways to develop cures for incurable deadly illnesses, more specifically for Gerald's granddaughter Maria Robotnik, but he was captured and put into stasis by the military when he was deemed as a threat to humanity.
Rouge the Bat[]
Rouge the Bat (ルージュ・ザ・バット Rūju za Batto?) is a fictional character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series who first appeared in Sonic Adventure 2. She is an anthropomorphic bat and jewel thief working as a part-time government spy for the President of the United Federation, and an agent on loan for the Guardian Units of Nations.[3] A world-famous freelance treasure hunter,[4][5] Rouge has a weakness for jewels, like the Master Emerald and Chaos Emeralds, which she always obsesses about. As a spy, Rouge is trained in combat, stealth and infiltration, and possesses both super-level kicking power and flight.

Silver the Hedgehog (シルバー・ザ・ヘッジホッグ Shirubā za Hejjihoggu?) is a fictional character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog hailing from at least two hundred years into the future where his role is to protect his time by changing the catastrophes of the past, thus preventing the ruining of his era. For his mission, Silver makes use of his psychokinesis, an ability from his time that is considered the norm,[6] which allows him to move objects with the power of his mind.
Blaze the Cat[]
Blaze the Cat (ブレイズ・ザ・キャット Bureizu za Kyatto?) is a fictional character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. She is an anthropomorphic cat and a princess hailing from an alternate dimension, where she is both the regent of her world and the appointed guardian of the Sol Emeralds, a role similar to that of Sonic and Knuckles combined.[3] She is gifted with the power of pyrokinesis, which lets her create and manipulate fire in any way she pleases.

Shaineros the Hedgehog (Unplayble)[]
Sheaineros the Hedgehog is the Main Anagonist of Sonic OverRun. He is a Green Colored Hedgehog, that wants to collect all of the Chaos Emeralds and Multi Elements. He originally was one of the five Multi Guardians, five Hedgehogs that defended Multi Elements. The Powerful items created by genius called Profesor Heroins, to defend our town against evil Echinda Clan The Swoards. Heroins wanted to create power that can match Chaos Emeralds and defend the town. All five Guardians lived in peace. Except for one, Shaineros. He wanted to conquer the power of Multi Elements and Chaos Emeralds and become strongest think in universe. He killed another four guardians and stole their Elements, but Multi Elements can't give power without Chaos Emeralds. So he searcher for them. He was unsecessful. Until he found Dr. Eggman and Sonic. When Sonic earned Emeralds from Eggman.Shaineros attacks Sonic, steals his Chaos Emeralds and sends him somewhere in time to get thim away. But, he feared he will somehow return and stop him. So he asked Eggman to travel trought time and stop Sonic getting back. And after that is ready to become Multi-Super Shaineros.

Music from the game was composed by StarSongs Music. Main theme of the game 'It's Time' and the final boss Music 'Bring me that Legend' was however Composed by Master Epic. All of the music from the game (Even music from unused stage Experiment Factrory) is included in Sonic OverRun Sountrack: The Super Sonic Blast.
Reception[]
Sonic OverRun was criticaly very praised. BirdSeed Game Rewievs praised fantastic Level Design, Multiple playble characters with special abilities, Lots of replaybility and Return of Chao Garden. Only cons Birdseed Rewievs found are lack of Sonic Strikers Maps and some camera glithes. Other Crititics like Pixelarns also very praised the game by its Level Design, Replaybility and lots of side functions. Even IGN (Imbecile Gaming Noobs) surprisingly rated game very positively.
Trivia[]
- It's the first Boosting Sonic Game that have more playble characters than only a Sonic and his another version (Werehog, Classic Sonic)
- There are some references to Sonic series' famous qoutes. When starts a Cutscene after you finish Highway City Act 2. Tails will say: Hey, Sonic! Here is that Green Hedgehog (Shaineros). It think he send us trought time! And Sonic after that says: Oh Yeah, This is Happening. Which is a reference to Sonic's opening line in Sonic Adventure. Aslo when Shadow attack Shineros. he says Where is that Damn Four Multi Element?! Which is a reference to infamous line Where Is That Damn Four Chaos Emerald from Shadow the Hedgehog.
- It's the second Sonic game that have more Super-Forms that only Super-Sonic (Sonic 3 a Knuckles- Hyper Sonic, Sonic OverRun- Multi-Super Sonic).
- Gravity Boost's animation is very similar to the Boost animation in Sonic Colors. Normal Boost's animation is almost same as in Sonic Generations.
- Originally you should earn Silver in Stage Palmtree Island Act 1 and Blaze in Stage Coral Submarine Act 1, but Developers swaped those two.
- There are some hidden Easter Eggs in the game. In Stage Jungle Colony Act 1 and Act 2. There are some parts where you must use homing attack to the Sunflower. That activates some Pea Plants and they will began to shoot Eggman's Robots. Which is a reference to a 2009 Tower Defence game Plants vs Zombies and it's sequel Plants vs Zombies 2: It's about time!!!.
- Game's logo is cretaed by DevianArt user NurryRush. Name Sonic Strikers is aslo from one logo by NurryRush. BirdX Games really liked those logos, so they used them.
- It's the first Sonic game that have S+ rank.
- When you save Knuckles, remix of his Sonic Adventure 1 Rap Unknown from M.E. plays. Even with Vocals! (Rouger that rest of them, best of them :D)
- There's a unused stage known as Experiment Factory. But, BirdX Games and Sonic Team deleted it. Some gimmicks from the stage still remains in Jungle Colony Act 2 and Sparking Castle Act 2.
