Should you come across an article that does not meet Article Standards, the following procedure should be followed:

Add a {{Standards}} Template

The first thing to do is add a {{Standards}} Template to the top of the article.

If you don't know how to do that, here's some instructions:

1 Open the article in question for editing
2 Make sure you are in SOURCE MODE
3 Make sure you are at the VERY BEGINNING of the article
4 Type "{{Standards|"
5 Type the reason that the article does not meet standards
6 Type "}}"
7 Hit ENTER to make sure the template is on its own line
8 Save the article

When you have typed it out, it should look similar to this:

{{Standards|Reason why it doesn't meet standards goes here}}

Wait for the grace period to expire

Articles marked for standards violations are given a week to fix the problems before they are deleted. If after one week, the article's author still hasn't fixed the issue, the article may be marked for deletion in the next step.

Mark the article for deletion

If after 1 week of being marked as a standards violation, the article still does not meet standards, you may add a {{Delete}} Template to the page.

If you don't know how to do that, here's some instructions:

1 Open the article in question for editing
2 Make sure you are in SOURCE MODE
3 Make sure you are at the VERY BEGINNING of the article
4 Type "{{Delete}}"
5 Hit ENTER to make sure the template is on its own line
6 Save the article

Wait for the article to be deleted by an administrator or the bot

Articles marked for deletion will be deleted as soon as an administrator can get to them, or as soon as the delete bot is run. After marking an article for deletion, there is nothing left for you to do!
