Sonic Allstars EX: Dimensional Shift (or Sonic Allstars Dimentional Shift) is an upcoming title in the allstars EX Series. It is the First Fighting Game in the series that is actually 3D cel-shaded animations instead of 3D models in general. The game is set for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 systems and the next gen systems such as Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and will be released on PC. Later will be released on Nintendo systems by another developer. There is another remake that is set to only be in 3D like Ultimate Ninja storm , Sonic Ultimate Allstars EX: Dimensional Shift

Gameplay

Sonic Allstars EX: Dimensional Shift  is a traditional 2D fighter with 3D Cell shaded sprites where two characters participate in a duel. A match can consist of one to five round. To win a round, one player must either incapacitate the other by inflicting damage through various attacks to reduce their opponent's health to zero or by having more remaining health than their opponent after the clock runs out. Every character has a weak, medium and strong attack. Also every character has a unique technique. Occasionally, some attacks  will use portions of the player's Hyper Gauge at the bottom of the screen. The Hyper Gauge is filled by either dealing or receiving damage. When a character has 50% or more Heat, special moves called Special Drives can be performed. When a Special Drive is successfully performed and connects with the opponent, it deals massive damage and is visually flashier than normal attacks. Every Character has 3 Finishing Drives.

Along with attacks every character has two types of block. One is the regular block that can be broken with a Guard Crush. That can be achieved by pushing the Guard Libra Gauge all the way to the opponent's side through repeated attacks. If the opponent keeps blocking, then their guard can be broken, leaving them open for attack. The second type of block is a Barrier Block, which is initiated by holding block button for a long period of time. A Barrier Block cannot be broken like a normal guard.

Unlike most fighting games this is like Blazblue and Guilty Gear combined with the way the game style is. This game has a new story. There are more characters than the original story line and there this new thing to the story called Gags (A funny ending to a certain part of story mode). Everything that has happened in this game will be put in the Allstars EX Series HD Remake with both games in it.

Game Mechanics

Overdrive

For those who play Blazblue games you should know this feature. Overdrive builds up over time, after which it is activated by pressing certain buttons at the same time. Overdrives increase attack power and grant character-specific benefits. Its duration depends on the character's health, generally lasting from about five to fifteen seconds, with more time being added the lower the HP amount. Each overdrive have a special ability to it as well including it's name.
