Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Battle is a 2022 kart racing video game developed by Sumo Digital and published by Sega. It is the sequel to Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and is the sixth installment of the Sega Superstars series. It was released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android in 2022.

Gameplay

The gameplay is similar to games Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and Team Sonic Racing.

Game Modes

  • Race: A normal race in which you need to accelerate as quickly as possible. The one who wins the race will win.
  • Grand Prix: It consists of 4 different races, after each race they get points. The winner is the one who gets the most points.
  • Team Race: Looks like Team Sonic Racing. All racers are divided into four teams. After the completion of the race, the racers receive points. The higher the result, the more points. The winning team is the one that scored the most points.
  • Team Grand Prix: The same as the usual Grand Prix, but not alone, but in a team.
  • Relay Race: A race in which you need to change the player after completing each lap.
  • Enemy Assault: Looks like Team Sonic Racing. It is necessary to destroy as many enemies as possible before the time is up. After the destruction of the enemy is given extra time.
  • Survival Race: Looks like Team Sonic Racing. In the race you need to get as far as possible from the rivals. After the end of the lap, the one who took the last place, leaves the race. The winner is the one who won first place and remained in the race.
  • Boost Challenge: Looks like Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. The player must hold out as long as possible, until he reaches the checkpoint, and until the time is up. After the checkpoint has been reached, extra time is added. Objective: Complete as many checkpoints as possible.
  • Drift Challenge: Looks like Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. The same as in Boost Challenge, only the player must make as many long drifts as possible in order to get extra time.
  • Daredevil: Looks like Team Sonic Racing. The same as in Boost Challenge, only in Star Post.
  • Versus: Looks like Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. The player must defeat his opponent in each round of the race.
  • Boss Arena: The player is in the villain's arena. You need to destroy the enemies as much as possible to get points. At the end of the battle, the player must defeat the boss, if he wins, the player will win, and if he does not shoot 3 times, the villain will leave.
  • Rival Arena: Only in multiplayer. Players must fight each other in arena to get points. The winner is the one with the most points.
  • Fortress Battle: Only in multiplayer. Each player has his own fortress. Players must destroy enemy fortresses and defend their own. Whose fortress is destroyed, the player is eliminated from the arena. The winner is the one with the fortress remains intact.

  • This game is most reminiscent of the original Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.
  • Sandopolis is only Sonic the Hedgehog location, which didn't appear in other games of Sega Superstars series.
    • Green Hill first appeared in Sega Superstars Tennis, and Sky Sanctuary - in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.
  • Carrier Zone is only arena, in which there are no enemies from location franchise, were replaced by enemies from Sonic the Hedgehog.
    • Metal Sonic, Reala and Jet are only these sub-bosses in the arenas were game characters.
