Trivia

  • This show features characters from the mainstream video games, Sonic Boom, the Archie Comic Adaptions and the IDW Publishing adaptions.
  • Many returning voice actors such as Lisa Ortiz and Laura Bailey voiced several characters, while new ones made their debut on this Sonic-related media for the first time.
  • Although the appearance style of the characters is that of the Modern Sonic World cast, Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel appear but in the style of the Modern Sonic World cast.
  • Several characters were given a huge wardrobe change for the TV show, while Eggman's outfit remains the same as in the mainstream video games.
  • The art style of the show is similar to Sonic X, while the human characters' appearance are similar to the ones from the anime adaption of Shiki.
  • Due to Rainbow S.r.l.'s involvement in the show as well as Archie Comics' involvement, TV Asashi's involvement and IDW Publishing's involvement, many human background characters from Winx Club and Digimon Fusion along with the anthropomorphic animal background characters from the Archie Sonic Comics and IDW Sonic Comics appear. Ian Flynn and Ken Pontac confirm that it requires a lot of money to borrow those characters for the TV show.
  • Although the former writers Ken Penders, Karl Bollers and Angelo DeCesare allowed the characters they created for the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog Comics to appear in this show, Ken Penders was reluctant to have a few of them to appear in the comics. Despite this, two characters named Julie and Liendda were identical to Julie-Su and Lien-Da, two echidna characters created by Penders for the Archie Comics.
  • Percy Harehopper and Dexter Harehopper are similar to Periwinkle Bellflower and Dandelion Bellflower of the Bellflower Bunnies, a French-Canadian TV show based on Beechwood Bunny Tales. Due to their appearance, the owners of this show were unhappy with this, but they allowed the creators and producers of this show to use the similarity based on those two characters.
  • Ian Flynn, Aleah Baker and Caleb Goellner who were comic writers wrote transcripts for the most of the episodes. Tracy Yardley and Ryan Jampole did character concept for Sonic, Mighty, Ray, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Elias, Sticks, Dr Robotnik and several anthropomorphic animal background characters. Aaron Hammerstrom and Evan Stanley did character concept for Silver, Blaze, Whisper, Metal Sonic, Percy, Dexter and several human background characters. While Jennifer Hernandez and Will Sliney did character concepts for the rest of the named characters and background characters.
  • The show is rated TV-PG which explains the mentioning of mature and mild words such as "crap", "damn", "hell" and "perv".
  • Although the show has a much serious tone, many of Sonic's comments and the actions of a few comedic characters show to have a slapstick tone like an anvil landing on them or being ran over by a crowd.
  • Although Sticks is a character that first appeared in Sonic Boom, she appears in this show due to the fact she was created by Sonic Team and SEGA.
  • The TV show has a large amount of generic voice actors across the USA, even veteran voice actors such as Tress MacNeille, Frank Welker and Brad Garrett. Despite this, famous actors Ginnifer Goodwin, Harrison Ford, Liam Neeson and Liu Yifei guest star in the perspective episodes.
  • For unclear reasons, Aleena D'Hedgehog shares the same name as Queen Aleena of Sonic Underground. Ian Flynn and Ken Pontac confirms that they wanted a completely original character named after a character from another TV show, and the other reason is currently classified until the time is right.
  • Takashi Iizuka admits that despite Mighty and Ray are exclusive to the "classic Sonic world", he and the president of SEGA only allowed them to appear due to their popularity with North American fans and their latest appearance in Sonic Mania Plus. Even several fans across Italy and Japan wanted Mighty and Ray in appear in future Sonic media like this TV show. But the president of SEGA Hajime Satomi says it's for him and Takashi Iizuka to decide.
  • Stefano Carrara and Maurizio D'Aniello who were composers for the Italian-American TV show Winx Club are composers for the TV show's music along with Michael Tavera (Who composed music for SatAM Sonic the Hedgehog) and Takeru Kanazaki (Who composed music for the Nintendo video games Fire Emblem Fates and Fire Emblem: Three Houses).
  • Travis Willingham and Quinton Flynn who were the previous voice actors of Knuckles and Silver repsectively confirms they only joined the cast to voice new characters (including Storm the Albatross in Travis's case).
  • Bryce Papenbrook requested that he only wants to voice the new characters for the TV show, while Ben Schwartz (Who voiced Sonic the Hedgehog in the 2020 film adaption) requested that he wants to voice Silver the Hedgehog for the TV show. Even Patrick Seitz requested that someone else (which is revealed to be Kevin Michael Richardson) would voice Zavok exclusively for the TV show. The producers of the TV show were reluctant at first, but they allowed it just this once for a reason they have yet to reveal.
  • Grey DeLisle (aka Grey Griffin) is credited as Grey DeLisle-Griffin for the entire TV show, while Vince Corazza is credited as Vincent Corazza for the entire TV show too.
  • Tara Platt (who voiced Edelgard from Fire Emblem: Three Houses) confirms she wanted to voice a Sonic character in future Sonic media, which happens to be Rouge. But her role portraying Rouge is exclusive to this TV show, while she'll voice new characters in future games and TV shows.
  • This is one of Paul St Peter's few roles in regular animation as his usual roles are in regular anime shows and video games. Despite this, many episodes are anime-animated while the rest are flash-animated.
  • For unusual reasons, Seasons 3 and 4 have 28 episodes each, while Seasons 1 and 2 have 26 episodes each. The producers will reveal the reasons for this strange amount of episodes until the time is right.
  • Sonic, Tails, Mighty and Ray wear outfits almost identical to each other (they consist of gloves, neckerchiefs, waist belts, sports tape and boots), while two of them wear goggles (in Tails's and Ray's case). Sally's outfit is similar to her Post-SGW outfit from the Archie Comics (but it includes a neckerchief, sports tape and a waist belt). Elias's outfit is almost identical to the outfits of Sonic, Tails, Mighty and Ray for this show (but the only difference is that Elias wears a vest instead of a neckerchief). Amy's outfit is similar to her Sonic Boom outfit (but the sarashi is replaced by a waist belt with a buckle and her shoes are replaced with boots). Knuckles's outfit includes a cowboy hat similar to the one from the OVA Movie adaption of Sonic the Hedgehog. Sticks the Badger's outfit is the same as the one in Sonic Boom, but it includes sports tapes on her forearms, fingerless gloves and black bike shorts under her skirt. Even Dr Robotnik's outfit is heavily inspired by the outfits he wore in Sonic Boom and the 2020 Movie Adaption.
  • The Chaotix were portrayed as Anti-Heroes in this TV show rather than complete heroes in the video games. Takashi Iizuka and Ian Flynn confirms that many protagonists portrayed as Anti-Heroes in Sonic-related media is a rare example as shown in this TV show due to requests from a few staff members regardless if some of the fans don't mind. Aleah Baker also confirms that the Chaotix portraying as Anti-Heroes is unusual in Sonic-related media which may surprise several fans. However Caleb Goellner says it was a very strange idea.
  • Songs played by Axel Rudi Pell, Hardline, Black Veil Brides, KISS, Pop Evil, Halestorm and Crush 40 is sometimes heard playing in the show. Johnny Gioeli confirms that the songs played by Axel Rudi Pell and Hardline were heard playing due to his connection to the bands as a singer. Even a couple staff members requested that songs by Black Veil Brides, KISS, Pop Evil and Halestorm would be heard playing in some episodes due to their popularity and the liking of the songs they want to hear.
  • Originally SEGA wanted to feature voice actors residing in Canada to voice the show's characters, but due to some staff members and fans insisting on having voice actors residing in USA to voice the characters, the producers decided to have the voices actors living in the USA to voice the characters. While they still plan to have voice actors living in Canada to other TV shows based on Klonoa and Beechwood Bunny Tales.
