Shane the Wolf is an anthropomorphic gray wolf, a Storm Fighter, and a somewhat minor character in The Legend of Fox the Brave, being the main protagonist of Shane's Promise.

Appearance

Shane is a tall gray wolf(in both breed and color) with amber eyes. He has thick, shaggy fur that fades to black on his back and white on his belly. Shane also has a broad chest and thick neck.

Personality

As a pup, Shane was rash and arrogant and a bit daft, as he willingly chose to help Sonic.EXE out of his hatred for Fox despite not knowing the demon's real motives. When he realized what Sonic.EXE really wanted to do with Fox, Shane swore off his grudge against him, making himself Sonic.EXE's next enemy-mainly because he suddenly refused to stop trying to kill Fox for him. On the Storm Fighters, Shane was a bit secretive and often kept to himself.

History

Shane's past is relatively unknown before Shane's Promise. He is mentioned to have been taken in by Orville, a timber wolf who was the head of the Egg Army in Fox the Brave's home in Soleanna Forest. After Orville was defeated by Fox and arrested by a silver fox on the Soleanna Freedom Fighters, Shane swore vengeance on Fox since Orville was Shane's foster father and his real parents had died when he was young. Shane met Sonic.EXE in his dreams and agreed to a deal that he would help the demon kill Fox and avenge Orville's arrest. After realizing Fox has a family, Shane immediately refuses to kill him, knowing that if he killed Fox, the cubs would be without a father, and he knew that feeling. Sonic.EXE berates him for this, but Shane firmly refuses to carry out Fox's murder, later meeting a wolf named Sandra. After a nightmare, Shane tries once more to kill Fox, but gives up when he remembers that Fox has a family. Knowing that Sonic.EXE would beat him for being a coward, Shane flees with his tail between his legs. Angry and in pain, he faces down Sonic.EXE in yet another dream, determined to back out of the deal he made. Sonic.EXE shows him the murder of Fox's parents Torch and Snow, sneering that he orchestrated the whole thing, much to Shane's horror. Later, Shane and Sandra have two sons, Forrest and Coal. Shane has yet another nightmare, this time of him and Fox both being savagely murdered. Later, a group of robots attack his cave, killing Sandra, while Forrest and Coal disappear. Beside himself with grief, Shane begs for forgiveness from Fox. Fox says that he cannot forgive and forget, but he will not judge Shane for his past actions and offers him a spot on Team Brave. Shane decides to wait a while, running off to join some Traders that visit Lamarkie Village twice a year. He later forgets about his experience, befriending Fox in The Return of Sonic.EXE, and finally decides to join the Storm Fighters. He remains a warrior until the events of Raging Storm, when Finitevus takes over the Storming Base and brings in the Destructix. During the first Storming Revolt, Scourge escapes from Splash's patrol and Spin Dashes towards Wilder, but Shane shoves the younger fox out of the way and takes the blow himself, dying instantly.

Skills

Shane was shown to have a decent level of physical strength, as he could easily hold his own against Fox, who is large for a fox and incredibly strong.

Weaknesses

Shane has little weakness since he has no special powers. Shane himself believes that his weakness is his stupid decision to accept a deal with Sonic.EXE in his youth to destroy Fox.
