Super Shadow, like his normally blue-furred ally, is a character that excels at rushing the opponent down with attacks that deal high damage. The difference is that Super Shadow essentially dials this general playstyle up to eleven, with pretty much his entire moveset revolving around a relentless offense that can utterly devastate the opponent should they fail to keep up. Super Shadow's Style Action allows him to enhance many of his specials, providing him an additional damage boost that can make him all the more devastating with proper execution.

However, in exchange for such a destructive offense, Super Shadow has very little options for playing defensively, meaning someone who can interrupt his onslaught can completely screw him over should he be unable to break out of it. Also similar to Super Sonic, he also has a notable lack of any zoning tools with his Chaos Lance - despite being one of the strongest non-super projectiles in the game - having a long wind-up for a projectile and his Chaos Torrent being aimed at an upward angle, making both of them unreliable for such purposes.

Moveset

Limit Charge - [hold] Exchange button

  • Super Shadow's Style Action, where he manually charges his Limit Gauge, which enhances most of his specials. Using the Attack light version consumes one stock, the Attack medium version consumes two stocks, and the Attack h version consumes all three stocks.

EX-Limit - [during a special] Exchange button

  • Super Shadow can instantly fill up a portion of his Limit Gauge by pressing it just at the exact moment upon performing a special move. With even more precise timing, he can fill up all three stocks in one go.

Inferno Drive - Arcade Modifier (Air) AS QCF + Attack button

  • Attack light Version - Super Shadow flies forward by a short distance before performing a forward kick.
  • Attack medium Version - Super Shadow flies to the opponent by a small angle before kicking forward.
  • Attack h Version - Super Shadow flies a great distance forward while performing a powerful forward kick.

> Follow-up Attack 1 - Attack button

  • Attack light Version - Super Shadow performs an additional kick while moving slightly forward.
  • Attack medium Version - Super Shadow fires off three additional strikes, moving forward all the while.
  • Attack h Version - Super Shadow launches an additional attack that hits incredibly hard and can cross the opponent up should the input for the next strike be slightly delayed.

  • Attack light Version - Super Shadow finishes with one final strike before leaping away from the opponent.
  • Attack medium Version - Super Shadow strikes the opponent with an attack that launches the opponent to the wall.
  • Attack h Version - Super Shadow unleashes a powerful strike that hits multiple times and sends them to the wall.

Chaos Collider - AS S + Attack button

  • Attack light Version - Super Shadow performs a ground pound that fires off a small burst of Chaos Energy, knocking the opponent away.
  • Attack medium Version - Super Shadow performs a ground pound that shoots out a vertical pillar of Chaos Energy.
  • Attack h Version - Super Shadow performs a powerful ground pound that shoots out a massive pillar of Chaos Energy that deals multiple hits.

Shadow Blitz - Arcade Modifier (Air) AS QCB + Attack button

  • Attack light Version - Super Shadow speeds forward with a lightning-fast strike before following up with up to four additional strikes.
  • Attack medium Version - Super Shadow covers a fair distance with a flying kick before leading into a maximum of four additional strikes that gradually lift the opponent into the air.
  • Attack h Version - Super Shadow rushes to the opponent before unleashing an onslaught of strikes that send the opponent flying.

Death Vanquish - Arcade Modifier (Air) Arcade Stick HCB + Attack button

  • Attack light Version - Super Shadow lunges a short distance forward and attempts to grab the opponent. He then slams then onto the ground with great force upon successfully grabbing them.
  • Attack medium Version - Super Shadow lunges a short height upwards and attempts to grab the opponent before slamming them right onto the pavement with great force.
  • Attack h Version - Super Shadow lunges forward at great speeds while attempting to grab them. Upon a successful grab, he proceeds to smash them straight onto the ground.

Chaos Lance - Arcade Modifier (Air) AS QCF + Exchange button

  • Super Shadow briefly channels Chaos Energy onto the palm of his hand before firing off a powerful beam that instantly covers full-screen distance.

Lightspeed Meteor - AS QCB + Attack lightAttack medium

  • A Decisive Action where Super Shadow knocks the opponent high into the air with an upward kick before quickly warping just above the opponent and crashing right onto them with a powerful Spin Attack.

Chaos Torrent - AS QCF + Attack lightAttack medium

  • A Decisive Action where Super Shadow fires off a powerful projectile of Chaos Energy at an upward angle.

Chaos Blast ver.Ω - Arcade Modifier (Air) AS QCF + Attack hExchange button

  • A Decisive Action where Super Shadow unleashes a massive explosion of Chaos Energy around himself, dealing incredible damage to all enemies near him.

Chaos Nova - AS QCB + Attack hExchange button

  • Super Shadow's Decisive Climax, where he taunts his opponent to strike him. Should they fall for it, he then unleashes a savage onslaught of Chaos-empowered strikes followed by a quick barrage of Chaos Spears, all before finally finishing it with a massive sphere of Chaos Energy that he then tosses onto the ground, causing a massive explosion.

Super Chaos Control - Attack light + Attack medium + Attack h + Exchange button

  • By meeting requirements that would normally unlock the Shutdown State, Super Shadow can freeze time for a certain amount of time, depending on how much meter he has upon activation. With one bar of meter being worth two seconds, this means he can have time frozen for a maximum of ten seconds.
