Roleplay:The Tree of Life

Overview

The peaceful little forrest town of oaken vale was suddenly struck by a plauge unleashed by a mad doctor. Trees started to rot and people started to cough blood. The town's only hoped was in the hands of a myth, the tree of life. 5 bounty hunters were called to search for this legendary tree that could cure all diseases. As it turns out when you go after a legend a lot of things get in the way.

Rules

• No Garry's God Modding
• Stick to the Story. Don't change it to be completely different or revolve around you. No chosen ones allowed.
• No trolls, trolling or troll feeding.
• No taking over someone else's character unless the owner of that character says its a-ok.
• Please be a little descriptive with your language. Bad EX:The tree of life was there. Good EX: As the group came apon the tree of life, it's leaves almost shined with radiance.
• Swearing is ok, just no spam.
• You may use your fanon characters or a canon character if you wish.

Episodes

Episode 1, Playing with Death: Dantae pulled back some pointy dead branches out of the path, she and the group came to the village. She sighed, she looked like some sort of alien with the gas mask on. The village looked absolutely miserable, the village was made of organic materials that were starting to crumble and rot away. "This certainly aint my kind of party." Dantae said. "Now look for a figure in a dusty old cloak, that's who we need to get the mission info from. And the sooner we get our info the sooner this place gets back to being happy and cheerful again."

Elluka ran her hand along a tree. "This place looks pathetic," the wolf sage obsevred. She shook her head and began to look for said figure.

Hectic looked around with the group. "Dang, this place sure is dead..." Hectic said as he looked for the the figure that was said.

Sapphire scratched her ear. She was getting some pretty off auroras around here, and she didn't like it. "Dusty old cloak and an old man in it. Hate to crash the party but-" A twig snapping stopped her midsentence, and movement reached the corner of her eye. "... Shall we investigate the crime scene? Looks like our party might be getting a new surprise guest."

Dantae motioned for the group to hide behind a large tree, you can never be too careful. A figure in a brown cloak passed by the tree "Where are they? They were supposed to be here 15 minutes ago." The figure spoke. Dantae and the party came from behind the tree to meet the figure. "Ah there you are, I was beginning to get worried." The figure took the cloak and threw it aside. He was a black wolf in green medical garb with a surgical mask over his muzzle. "Hello, I'm part of the medical team stationed here. I would have the village elder speak with you but... he is very sick. He asked me to wear his cloak when he told me to meet you. The plauge here is very severe but the village elder claims that there is a tree that can cure all diseases, so we sent one of our teams to find it but they went missing. Hence why we called you professionals." The medic held out a dusty old map which Dantae immediately snatched. "If you have any other questions before you depart please ask them now." said the medic.

"I've always heard of the fabled Tree of Life, but I thought that no mortal has confirmed its existence," Elluka said, placing a curious finger on her cheek. "I know Oaken Vale is in its time of need, but this journey will be dangerous, won't it?"

"Of course, if it was easy the tree of life would be recovered years ago. Legend has it that 3 incredibly strong guardians have been guarding the tree for eons. You will be payed accordingly." said the medic.

Sapphire had snickered lightly at being called a professional. "Hold on. There's guardians to the tree? Don't tell me we'll have ta fight them, or do they know who we are and stuff like that? Honestly, are they okay with us just moseying on in and take their predicts tree that, as you said, have been guarding for eons?"Sapphire asked as she leaned against a young Maple tree, and started thinking about maple syrup.

"Just a root from the tree would work, but I hope you came equipped for battle. It is said that the guardians take the form of animals that mortals fear."

Elluka scoffs at his words. "You doubt people like us are equipped for battle?" the mage snaps, pulling one of her gloves off, revealing a transmutaion circle on her hand. "It would be foolish not to have your weapons close by."

Dantae pulled up her shotgun and loaded it with bright red slugs, cocking the gun. "Let's kick some ass why don't we!"

The party ventured out of Oaken Vale and into a dark green forest. "This must be the place" A massive midevil castle stood before the party. Covered in moss and greenery. MAP UPDATED: GAIA CASTLE "Lets head right through!" Dantae said. A purple hedgehog in a suit and skull mask walked in front of the party, then proceded to bow. "I am Dr.Sinnex. I was in the midst of some very important research about Immortality. A root from the tree of life would most definitely help this research. I can provide 3 times the amount of money oaken vale is offering you and I will even provide aid in your quest! I can tag along and offer my knowledge and fencing skills. What do you say? Do we have a deal?" Sinnex extended his hand. "Something about this seems real sketchy." Dantae thought. 

"No. We don't Purpleman," Sapphire stated as she slapped the hand away. The aurora she was feeling from him was too odd and dark to ignore. "Besides... Immortality is a curse that should be extended to no one, you blasted fool. And we are certainly not easily bribed with cash for that fruitless indevour that you have chosen to follow." Immortality leads to pain. Sapphire huffed and tried to get her blue bangs out of her face as she glared small daggers at the doctor.

"I tried to be nice but it never seems to work out. Oh well, at least I tried. Listen Ms. Sapphire, You obviously don't know true loss, not like I do. What if one day the person you loved the most, just died one day. Just ceased to exist, you are going to die too. Think about it, really do. My research has compared death to sleep, A eternity of eternal slumber, what if you have dreams after you die? This could all just be a nightmare that you or I are trapped in. Oh look at you now, you must be so scared Sapphire, scared and alone in the universe just like me, we are the same you and I. You think you are on higher ground than me, isn't that cute. Dr.Sinnex gave Sapphire's cheeks a pinch.

Hectic wasn't liking this. "Just. STOP." Hectic said in a angered voice as he grabbed Dr. Sinnex's hand and lowers it from Sapphire's cheek. "Look, I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but I'm feeling extremely uncomfortable with you just touching my friend. Besides, I possess immortality, and Sapphire is right: It is a curse." Hectic told Dr. Sinnex.

"Ah you must be referring to your healing factor." Sinnex quickly drew a needle and took a blood sample from Hectic. "I have always wanted one of these, you have just contributed to my scientific research already." Sinnex pocketed the sample.

Elluka began to chuckle lightly until it escalated into full-on laughter. "You're quite a fool, D. Sinnex," she chuckled. "Immortallity is impossible." She reached towards her left eye and stuck her fingers around it. Within a few seconds, the eye popped out. "This is the price I had to pay to revive someone that I cared about deeply," Elluka says while holding up the glass eye. "And, the attempt failed."

"We will see who gets the last laugh Elluka. I have grown tired of negotiating. I will leave you to the company of one of my home-made demons. I summon you Prometheus, come out and play. In infernis arderet" Dr.Sinnex simply turned and walked into the foliage. In a puff of smoke Prometheus the hedgehog appeared. She had fur black as coal and eyes like flame. She had demonic horns and skin like magma. "WHO IS READY TO DIE?" she asked. "Me!" Dantae responded drawing her shotgun. Firey chains suddenly burst out of Prometheus' back.

"You bloody, bloody fool. I sure as freaken Sol know what it's like to lose someone. Immortality leads to an eternity of suffering. All you'll do is watch and outlive all of your damn loved ones. You'll watch them die, then their children, then their children. Immortality is foolish, and only leads to more pain than what it's worth. Bloody bloody fools," Sapphire stated in a dark tone as she rubbed her cheek. "And what the hell did you do to that hedgehog. Couldn't have been born this way. Immortality leads to madness, and madness leads to unspeakable acts. Ask the mad suicidale girl in me. She'll give you the same answer. Immortality... Such a bitter idealism." Suddenly, she struck her hands to get her, and a whirlwind of wind enveloped the demon, and Sapphire tossed her to the side into a tree.

Sinnex stopped and looked back to sapphire with a smile on his face "What did i do to this poor hedgehog? I gave this poor hedgehog an unthinkable power. She had a boring normal life with a loving husband and three kids. I had to rip her away from them, from that empty existence. I gave her life by experimenting on her. Now her purpose is to serve." "Yes master! I hated my old life and I love you!" Prometheus said in her usual darkish demonic tone. Sevral of Prometheus' chains came spiraling twords Sapphire, intent of grabbing her.

Hectic rushed in front of Sapphire and deflected the chains with his hands, most of the chains also causing himself to lose balance. "What is wrong with you?!" Hectic shouted towards Dr. Sinnex.

"This women might've actually enjoyed her life, but then you decide to change her into "this "?! This is what you call "creating life"?! I call this "creating a monstrosity"!!" Hectic shouted to Dr. Sinnex.

"Your ignorance astounds me every passing moment. I will do you fiends a favor, one day when you all feel secure I will abduct you and unleash my creative potential. Has anyone dreamed of being an angel or demon?" asked Sinnex with a smile "Its a good offer but I will have to refuse, take your demons back to hell and stay there with them." said Dantae raising her shotgun. Prometheus suddenly body slammed into Dantae hard. Dantae was catapulted into the giant stone door of Gaia castle, smashing it to pieces. "Don't say you've already forgotten about me!" Prometheus said mockingly.

"I wish I could you demon," Sapphire stated as she threw the leftover chunks of the stone door at Prometheus. Telekinetically, of course. "Thanks Hectic." She turned her attention towards the crazy Doctor. "Madness. I see it in your eyes now. When driven against a wall, break the d*** wall, bastard."

"What a waste of my time, you still look at it with your foolish perspective." Sinnex snapped one his fingers and a radiant golden hedgehog wearing a tuxedo swooped down with angel wings. The angelic looking hedgehog took Sinnex in his arms and flew past the castle. Meanwhile Prometheus was smashing the peices of the gate with her chains and kicking them into the castle walls creating big gaping holes. Dantae was still lying in the pile of rubble, she muttered: "Anyone got some morphine or some rings?"

Elluka wiped the dirt off of her outfit. "That man...," she pondered. "Could he have started the illness...?"

"An ignorant fool either stays an ignorant fool, or becomes yet foolishly ignorant. Somehow, I think he's both." Sapphire glanced at Dantae and walked over to her, moving some of the rubble off of her and hanged her a few rings. "Well... I suppose we need to look for that tree thingy, right?"

"Yes. We should start paying attention to that objective." Hectic said in a stern voice, mostly being because he was annoyed that the doctor gave him a shot, and he had to cover up the blood that was quickly rushing out of his arm.

Dantae picked herself up and snapped a bone back into place. "Thanks Saph, I feel as fresh as a spring morning!" said Dantae. "You guys forgot about me again huh?!" Prometheus said annoyed. Dantae quickly ran around Prometheus, grabbed her chains and tied her up with them. Prometheus broke threw her own chains with a screech. They were a part of her so it hurt her, BAD. Prometheus fell over onto the ground, clutching her head and moaning. EPISODE COMPLETE.

Episode 2, Silken Web: The group entered through the smashed entryway of gaia castle. The castle was old and covered in cobwebs. It was a shame because of the beautiful paintings and statues that dotted the castle. "I'm supprised the grave robbers haven't taken off with anything yet... or maybe they came and never left at all... BOO!" The group eventualy came to a dead end There was a large wooden shelf with 3 rectangular slots carved into it. On a nearby table there were 3 tarot cards The Fool, The Lovers, and Death. There were words carved into a each slot.

1.Patient, Mysterious, Silent. 2.Infatuated, Blind, Intoxicating. 3.Ignorant, Reckless, Senseless.

"I hate puzzles. Not enough action for me. I think you have to put the right card in the right slot or something. I can just burn down the shelf if you can't figure it out" said Dantae.

"Burn it!" Hectic cheered.

"That's the correct solution! Dantae said lighting the wooden shelf on fire with her hand, revealing a secret passage behind it. Dantae also pocketed the Tarot cards. "These could go for a lot with collectors!" The group ventured into the secret passage and came to an ornate dining room. A few spiders could be seen crawling here and there. There was a table full of china and silverware and only four chairs. On a nearby painting there were some figures sitting at the very same table. On the leftmost chair there was a cloaked figure that looked to be a mage. On the right most chair there looked to be a night or warrior of some description. and in the middle was a fancily dressed king and queen on of them looked to be a cat and the other a hedgehog. Dantae looked at the painting and then back to the real life empty chairs, "Man this place is loaded with puzzles."
