This roleplay is invite only!

It's also been rebooted...

Overview

What exactly lies beyond the forest outskirts of Station Square? Besides the usual animal here or there, something mysterious and eerie hides under the shroud of this forest. The set of ruins that haven't been excavated yet. When word gets around thoughts certainly esculate. Riches, treasure, history, who knows what could lie there?

And that is exactly what people should fear. What does lie in those ruins? Well, that depends. A raging beast at the bottom of the castle, a room with some odd properties, a ruined tapestry, and a great story of a civilization of people long ago, this castle certainly has some valuable things, and perhaps there might be a couple people willing to brave the scary atmosphere and finally find what lies within, but careful adventurers, what lies within is the scariest part...

Rules

  • Don't dodge everything in combat, otherwise I'll might have to add a dice system into this somewhere and I don't really want to do that.
  • Swearing isn't allowed. (Crap, Damn, Hell are fine.) if you need to say a swear that isn't any of those three, then censor it out using *'s.
  • Don't kill or take something out with a single move, that's just not cool.
  • Don't kill someone's character without their permission. Not only is that uncool, but I will not stand for it. That being said, no name characters like 'guards' or something, is something I'm okay with you killing.
  • Don't auto hit either, that's still not a cool thing.
  • Do not blatently break the fourth wall, references to things are fine, but doing something like, directly saying your in a roleplay just isn't something you should do.
  • This is not ERP, so no sexual content. Romantic things (Kissing, hugging, etc) are fine, and innuendo is fine, but don't do...you know...
  • I don't like posting orders, so we won't use one. However, if things get too chaotic and I think someone is getting left behind, I will inact a posting order using a randomizer. We're a team, we can't let someone get left behind.
  • "Do try to have fun, dear"

Part 1:Why I gathered you

On the edge of Station Square stood a young man in a black and whtie suit, with a spear on his back, and a badge on his jacket. His red fur stuck out against the green trees and he looked around the area carefully.

His brother, a green fox in a black jacket, sat on a stump nearby. "So, I get why we're here, you know, castle, and treasure, and riches, and whatever. That's cool, I guess, I mean, we have all the riches we want at home so there really isn't a point in going into the castle, but why bring so many people? Why are we waiting on so many people? It's an old castle, it's not like there's gonna be a bunch of people waiting to jump us once we're inside."

"Paitience is a virtue, dear brother." The red fox said. "This castle has not been excavated yet, no one has entered it before and it could be trapped. I chose a select group based on skil and knowledge. I know some of these people well, and others I don't, but they are all good, don't worry."

"Ugh, you sound like dad..." Neo groaned. "Why can't we just explore on our own? We're good!"

"I don't mean to intrude." A blue hedgehog with lots of hair, grey eyes, a red and silver outfit and a scythe on his back interrupted. "But, we seem to have some people arriving."

A light blue kirby was dragging a red hedgehog, who was unconcious, and a little wolf on a sentient bike was holding a boy. There was a green hedgehog girl walking with them.

"Yay, you invited children..." Neo sarcastically said.

"We know Zapor, Neo. It's not like they just showed up from out of no where, at least we know their talents." Zero replied.

"I'm just trying to figure out why we're inviting so many people. Doesn't that mean we gotta split the treasure with them?" Neo asked a little irritably, with Ages only responding with a slight nod.

Two more people came in - and they looked like adults. One of them was a male grey wolf with white hair, and a red trench coat over black clothing along with a sword on his back. The other person was a female brick-red fox, with a t-shirt and black jeans on. Her left arm seemed metallic in comparison to her right, signifying her being a cyborg.

"We got your message," the male said, nodding at the male fox. His companion said nothing, merely folding her arms.

In a tree, unseen as of yet by the growing group of people, a strange figure in a set of dark grey and wine red leather armour sat watching the people below meet up with each other.

"I'm glad to have you along." Ages offered the wolf a hand. "I am detective Ages Tranquil, but if you got my message, you probably knew that already."

Neo looked the wolf up and down, studying him, then looked over to the girl, doing the same with her, stopping for just a brief moment to look at her arm before turning back to the forest.

"Call me Blitz. This is my friend, Edge," the wolf answered, shaking Ages' hand. The woman named Edge gave a curt nod to Ages when her companion name-dropped her.

Another pair of two came in; One was a beautiful pale golden hedgecat in purple named Christina. The other was a pink and white winged unicorn named Krys.

"Well, I'm glad to have you both along for the ride!" Ages said politely. He looked over to the alicorn and the hedgecat. "Christina, Krys, I see you both have arrived as well!"

A brick red bobcat wearing a pale blue hoodie and worn jeans holding a small bag over his shoulder joined the group. "I guess this is where I'm supposed to be, given the number of shady looking characters here...The name's Solomon, by the way." He said to no one in particular.

"Shady looking characters, huh?" Neo called to the Bobcat. "Yeah, I suppose that's us."

"Is Zapor up yet?" Lexi asked. Zak shook his head, which led to the two of them sighing.

The strange figure leaned forward and sighed with boredom. She grabbed what seemed to be a bow and a quiver of arrows and quickly jumped down from the tree.

While Neo, Zero, Echo and Apollo seemed surprised by the girl, Ages turned around. "Well then, nice to see that you're out."

Blitz turned to look at the figure, only mildly surprised at her sudden entry. "Yo," he greeted. Edge, meanwhile, waved at the figure with her organic hand.

"Indeed," the figure replied before continuing to say, "I am Astrid." She acknowledged Blitz and Edge's greeting with a simple "Hello".

"Alright, that seems to be most of us." Ages said. "I think...there is one more in particular we should wait on, as soon as they arrive, we may be off."

"So...what exactly can you guys do?" Neo asked Edge, Blitz and Astrid.

"Well, apart from being unseen by most, I'm incredibly accurate with a bow and my dagger is one of my favourite weapons. I can also spot abnormalities in an area and changes in a person's behaviour quite quickly," Astrid replied, replacing her bow onto her back and folding her arms.

"Interesting. Although, you should keep your powers to yourself. You can hardly trust people you just met." Solomon said.

"We kick monster *** for money, fame, and justice," Blitz said with a goofy smirk. Edge facepalmed at this.

"We're mercenaries, basically," Edge said finally. "Try not to get on my bad side."

"Oooh, because you're so scary!" Neo said in a mocking tone.

"Now, Neo, that is no way to treat an ally." Ages reminded him in a stern tone.

"If they fight monsters, don't you think it'd be best if you didn't go picking fights with them?" Apollo asked.

"I really agree, follow their advice," Edge answered, looking at Neo with a venomous glare.

"Hey, hey, let's not murderize each other, alright?" Blitz stepped in, getting between Neo and the Cybermal. His companion scowled a bit, before sighing and nodding with a "yeah, sure".

Neo almost said something, before Zero said something first. "Alright, man, simmer down a bit..."

Edge looked at Neo for another second or so, before saying, "Are we gonna get going soon? I want this done fast."

"Hold yer horses, hon, good things come to those who wait, right?" Blitz said, putting his hand on her shoulder.

The fox relaxed slightly at his touch, yet her expression didn't change. "Fine."

"But we will get to murdernize something right?" Zapor asked, finally getting up. Zak nodded, with Zapor smiling,

Neo stared at Edge, he didn't say anything, but he did glare at her.

"Just a few more minutes..." Ages said in a calm voice.

Zak looked back at Neo and Edge. "...Ok."

Edge chose to be silent in reply, scoffing at Neo before turning away. Bored, she proceeded to look at the little screen on her cybernetic forearm and run some tests on it to make sure everything was good to go while they waited.

"Are you sure this is where we're supposed to go?" a voice in the distance called out. "I think this should be it." called another, more feminine voice, and from where the voices could be heard a faint purple light could be seen.

"Good, if I am correct they have yet to leave." the first voice says. Afterwards, a violet-skinned and somewhat tall being steps out from an alleyway still within city grounds. Accompanying him is a mobian Chandelure, who was the one giving off the glow. "Oh, hi. Sorry if we're late." the Chandelure says, bowing in apology.

"Not at all." Ages said pleasantly. "I am glad to have you here."

Sitting on a rooftop, a white hedgehog with what seemed to be glowing sections on his fur and dark clothing hummed bemusedly to himself. Having watched who had come join the fray. Opening and closing his fist to stretch it out, he pondered to himself whether or not to make his presence known. He never did to well with new groups of people. "Least I can stretch out from the Null Zone.. and.. I am interested in why this time of all times is in flux." The hedgie muttered to himself as his eyes scanned across each person.

Ages looked around the area. "All right, I know a lot of you are anticipating this, so I will not delay anylonger." He looks over the group. "The forests outside of Station Square aren't really known, they're overshadowed by the mystic ruins to the south, and because of this, many people don't really look into this forest. Today, a few of my contacts discovered a ruins here, ruins that have never been touched by mobian or human hands for who knows how long."

"So, wait, no one bothered to look into the forest, until now? And they just now discovered the ruins?" Apollo asked.

"Not quite. It appeared out of nowhere. A friend of mine called it; a temporal lock, An ancient chronomancer spell said to hold something in place, until the time comes. I suppose that this temporal lock was used to keep these ruins hidden for a long time." Ages announced. "I've been given the chance to bring a group to explore the ancient crypts first, to see with my own eyes what many others have not. I contacted all of you based on skills. Whether they be fighting, defense, awareness, magic, or simply because your reputation proceeds you. All of you were hand picked on with those traits in mind." He looked over to Astrid quickly. "Even though I do not know who you are, you seem capable. You are able to join us, if you like." Ages turned back to the group. "I know the location of the ruins, and I can take us there quickly, but first, does any one have any questions?"

"Any idea on what that 'something' the time lock's holding is?" Edge piped up.

"I don't know." Ages said. "It could have been simply treasure, or it could have been something else. I'm unsure. While treasure is up for anyone to grab, anything of historical value, I require. I need to preserve it and hand it over to the museum. Things like vases, jewels, simple gold, or anything like that, is, however, available to the rest of you. Who knows, maybe we'll even find some weapons or ancient tools."

Krys looked at Ages, she was sort of curious but confused at the same time, "You say that a chronomancy spell could unlock the crypts, right?" She asked him.

"You mis understand me, my dear." Ages said. "The temporal lock hid the ruins, we can enter them, but their may be more than just that temporal lock. I've been told that this magic is strange, my contact could not recognize how exactly it was done. He mentioned something involving a glpyh, in anycase, it is my hope that some of you might be able to recognize what it is."

"I can't be of much help there." Solomon chimed in. "But I guess we must wait until we see the glyph...I hate magic..."

"Well, while it's true that magic may be a problem, it's not the main issue. Many people do not use magic, and the reason I've brough everyone here has to do with after the glyph. I don't know what lies inside the castle, if someone went so far as to hide it with this magic, who knows what else lies within, we may find traps or magically conjured beasts, it's impossible to figure out for sure." Ages assured Solomon. "I have no doubt you will be useful."

"Is there gonna be some big nasty beasty that will want to eat our faces if we try to get to it?" Blitz said half-jokingly.

Solomon nodded at Ages. "Well thank you for your kind words, but my final statement still stands: I hate magic."

The white hedgehog appearing by Blitz's side with his hands in his pockets walks past him, giving a snide remark of "Yeah, you'd be surprised in what you'd find in a place like that."

"Pfft, I can handle just about anything, hot shot," the wolf said to the hedgehog in a playful tone.

A calm smile on the hedgehogs face as he felt a little reassured by the company he was in. "Name's Vexx by the way. I uh.. just came by because I heard about this little venture."

"Good to have ya around, man," Blitz said, offering a hand to Vexx.

Grasping the man's hand, he gave it a quick but stern shake. "Pleasure's mine. " Taking a step back and looking towards the location; the white hedgie gave a small gaze of distrust. "I will return soon enough. But I believe this is going to take more energy on my part." Rummaging in his pocket, he pulls out a gemstone that shimmers blue and offers it to the wolf. "Please take this, it is a momento of my being here. When I am ready I will hone in on it and come to your aid."
