The Great Reboot

Guys, er1c1996 here. I have been off the scene for quite a while. But this RP is NOT dead. I have however noticed that it has gotten a little carried away and sloppy since I've left. Therefore, in an attempt to make this a more coherent and mature story, I will be spending the next few days "cleaning up" this fanfiction. Please refrain from making edits unless you are helping remaster the story. This RP will continue and be finished the way I envisioned it!!! You'll live. Only the best get killed. 4+ years later, I'm back again. Realizing how poorly written this was, but that it has potential, I'm in the process of rewriting the story. I will try to preserve as much of the original story as possible, and stay faithful to the characters as written by their original users, as every user in this story besides me has been inactive for years now. If you return and want your character removed though, let me know. If anyone wants to join, I encourage it.

It's been brought to my attention that the script format is off putting to some. While I agree that a novel format is better for these kinds of stories, it was written this way originally, and I have yet to decide if it is worth rewriting. After all, it is way easier to draft a scene with a lot of dialogue when it doesn't have to be structured into paragraphs. I also am in the process of improving the format. Look at the ending scenes to see what I want the whole story to look like, as the rest probably looks a bit rough.

Teaser

Nine inhabitants of Mobius embark on an epic adventure to a nearby planet. But when their spaceship malfuctions, they crash land on the mysterious planet of Elilaela. Little do they know, there was an evil lurking on the surface ran by a mastermind that is as mysterious as the planet that he inhabits.

Character Bios

Please add your character under your desired side below. Please add their abilities and a short bio to keep continuity straight. For clarification, this story assumes that Mobius is a future Earth like the comics, but that the games are also canon. Based on Vultro's relative age at this time, this takes place 8 years after the events of Sonic Mania. If your character is not normally alive at this point in time, time travel can be used as an excuse.

Heroes

1. Vultro the Fennec (Speed/Size, er1c1996)

Vultro is a Fennec Fox from Mobius standing at about 1'2" and weighing only about 5lbs. He has large ears, light brown fur, and white tufts on his head and chest. He also wears a pair of sneakers and white gloves. He is small but fast, able to overtake large enemies and fit into tight spaces. He doe not always think about the consequences of his actions, often landing him in trouble. His father's alter ego, Solidus, is present in this story but it is the first time he's ever encountered him. Vultro inherited the ability to transform using the Shoten crystal from his father.

2. RavenCool the Sol Grey Wolf (Mystic Ability, 24.58.83.171, now RavenCool the Wolf)

RavenCool is a Grey Wolf that was born in the Sol dimension, a mystical realm from which the 7 Sol Emeralds originate. She has a white muzzle, wears red and blue armor, and has specially crafted boots to fit her paw-like feet (a feature uncommon to Mobians.) At the age of 6, her dad was murdered, enraging her but causing her to flee to Mobius where she met Vultro. A fierce warrior with a coarse personality, Raven usually only shows her kindness to Vultro, and her love interest Lightning. As the heir apparent of guardian of the Sol dimension, she is sometimes allowed possession of the Sol Emeralds, under the careful watch of the current guardian Blaze the Cat.

3. Wreck the Fox (Strength/Stamina, 92.4.213.78, now The Evilbreaker)

Wreck is a Silverfox with jet black fur, white chest fur, yellow eyes, and orange boots and gloves. Unbeknownst to himself, he was born under extraordinary circumstances. As his mother was giving birth to him, the building she was in was phased into the Sol dimension, imbuing Wreck with Sol powers. He was returned to Mobius shortly after and was never made aware of this event. Even without knowing it, the Sol Emeralds strengthen him, giving him enhanced strength and stamina in battle.

4. Frankie the Bat (Flight/Hearing, 92.4.213.78, now The Evilbreaker)

Frankie is a skinny red Bat with brown eyes, yellow and purple boots, black shorts, brown gloves, and a light blue tank top. She is a love interest of Wreck and traveled with him on this trip with the idea of having a surprise romantic date on an exotic planet. Her flight abilities make her a useful addition to the team, along with her speed and agility while in the air. She also has heightened hearing and is able to hear sounds from a much further distance than the rest of the team.

5. Tracker the Dog (Strength/Smell, 92.4.213.78, now The Evilbreaker)

Tracker is a Bloodhound from the city of Techtown, a cybercity famous for its technology and unique regional accent (which resembles the real life accent of Northern England.) The son of Leon, the leader of the Techtown Freedom Fighters, Tracker lived in Techtown until he was chosen to embark a mission to Mobius. He elects to come along with Vultro as he believes that visiting Ethos, the original destination, was an integral part of his mission. He has an incredible sense of smell as well as a considerable amount of strength.

6. Shift the Hedgecat (Shapeshifting, er1c1996)

Shift was originally written as a different character by SnowlessWinter. However, she has long since rewritten the character in question and requested the removal of this version. With her permission, I have rewritten this character's design and abilities into my own new character, named Shift. She appears to be a yellow cat/hedgehog mix ("hedgecat") from Mobius, sporting a a spiky back, whiskers, and a lightning shaped tuft of hair at the top of her head. She has shapeshifting abilities and it able to take the form of many natural creatures. Vultro does not seem to be close with Shift at the beginning of the story, but her shapeshifting abilities prove to be quite useful.

7. Jenny the Fox (Mystic Ability, 92.4.213.78, now The Evilbreaker)

Jenny is a Arctic Fox from Mobius. She is similar in size to Vultro, sporting platinum fur, a bushy tail, and ice blue gloves and clothing. She was extensively trained by her mother in Chaos magic, being able to cast some spells even without a Chaos Emerald present. She is the half sister of Vultro, sharing the same father but different mothers, though they are not aware of this fact at the beginning of the story. Unbeknownst to herself, she is also capable of harnessing the power of the Shoten crystal, having inherited the ability from her father.

8. Terry the Beaver (Ingenuity, 92.4.213.78, now The Evilbreaker)

Terry is a Beaver who is also from Techtown. Though not a member of the Techtown Freedom Fighters, he is Tracker's close friend and wanted to aid him in his mission. Like Tracker, his accent makes him appear quite dim witted to the group. Unlike Tracker however, he is afraid to fight due to living a sheltered life in Techtown.

9. Lighting/Kaminari the Hedgehog (Speed/Height, 24.58.83.171, now RavenCool the Wolf)

Kaminari ("Lightning") is a Hedgehog who is the love interest of Raven. WIP

Met on the Planet

1. Shimmer the Hedgehog (Speed/Pyrokinesis, Maria1234567890)

Shimmer is a red and gold Hedgehog. WIP

2. Penelope the Hedgehog (Telekinesis, Maria1234567890)

Penelope is a pink Hedgehog. WIP

3. Mackenzie the Tiger (Electrokinesis, MaxIrvaron)

Mackenzie "Mac" Hartley is a Tiger with electrokinesis, having honed the skill since he was a child. He has brown fur, hazel eyes, and wears a yellow, long-sleeve jacket with a red undershirt. He also wears grey shorts, along with black and white shoes. At the time of this story, Mac is a 16 year old mercenary-in-training, having already gone through many adventures with his friends. He has a cocky and flirty personality, and is always looking for some fun. He is determined to complete a mission assigned to him by Master Aorki, who is responsible for sending him to Eilaela. Mac has two guns, Zip and Zap, and two golden bracelets that can turn into the Flash Gauntlets, capable of firing ergokinetic and eletrokinetic energy.

Villains

1. Databyte Egg (Combat, 92.4.213.78, now The Evilbreaker)

Databyte Egg is a robot designed by Dr. Ivo Robotnik in Techtown that gained sentience and turned against his orders. His model number is E-112B, placing his design somewhere in between E-102 Gamma and E-123 Omega. Unlike most of Eggman's robots, it developed its own evil agenda. After encountering Mist the Morph and receiving an upgrade from him, the two joined forces in a quest to take over the galaxy. Databyte has a superior targeting and ammunition system that makes him deadly to any foe that crosses him. Unlike Mist, whose creator had programmed him to accurately mimic human speech patterns, Databyte's voice is monotone and robotic.

2. Mist the Morph (Shapeshifting, 92.4.213.78, now The Evilbreaker)

Mist is an artificial being created in Techtown. Having been programmed with shapeshifting abilities, it always prefers to take a form other than himself. When forced to be in his natural form, he resembles a dark grey featureless hedgehog, having no spikes, clothing, nose or pupils. He has learned to mimic human speech and emotion patterns, developing a very human, though ruthless, personality. After meeting Databyte and pitying his low quality parts, he upgraded its targeting computer, becoming the closest thing to a friend that he has. Though originally designed to take down the Techtown Freedom Fighters, he has also had a run in with Wreck and Frankie before this story.

3. Metal RavenCool (Mystic Ability, 24.58.83.171, now RavenCool the Wolf)

4. Lunic the Hedgehog (Ingenuity, 92.4.213.78, now The Evilbreaker)

Lunic is a Mobian hedgehog that resembles Manic the Hedgehog. His fur is blue, his eyes are red, and he wears a black jacket. He also has a purple streak on his left leg, the origins of which are unknown. After traveling through time as a teenager and seeing the remarkable "bad future" Eggman is capable of creating, he decides to become a villain. He is very handy with electronics, always tinkering and creating devices useful to him and his allies.

5. Solidus the Werefox (Mystic Ability, er1c1996)

Solidus is a Werefox and the evil alter ego of Obelus the Fennec, Vultro and Jenny's father. After transforming into Solidus, he stole the Shoten crystal and used it to manifest himself as a separate entity from Obelus, allowing him to murder both Obelus and his wife, Lily the Silverfox. Possessing no body, he appears as a ghostly spirit, requiring the Shoten crystal to remain in this dimension. He has fennec-like ears and fur, but wolf-like fangs and proportions. He is desperately searching for a way to create a corporeal form, which is why he is searching for other powerful gemstones. Though he tends to try and be the mastermind of most operations, he has an extremely short temper and does not like to admit to mistakes. His major downfall, like his son, is that he can be very short-sighted and arrogant.

6. Crys the Hedgehog (Cryokinesis, MaxIrvaron)

Crys Wynter is a blue Hedgehog with three droopy quills, two of which point sideways. He wears a dark blue and white shirt, along with jeans with a golden lining. Crys holds a grudge against his sister Alexia, whom he is always trying to kill. Using magic gifted to him by Tikal the Echnidna, Crys came to Elilaela to ravage its resources, and ultimately to take it over. Crys can harness the moisture in bodies of water, and even out of the air, in order to create ice at will. Using his most powerful magic, he can also create metallic ice crystals, only destroyed by equally powerful energy. Due to the effort it takes to create said ice, he avoids using it unless absolutely necessary. Crys is a very cold person, very off-putting and usually a lone wolf. He also appears to be selfish, not caring for others. He is however extremely driven, and will not stop until he achieves his goals.

Story

Anyone can write the story, inclusion of the main character Vultro is allowed without permission; will be reviewed by me though. Please make sure to weave you character into the present story if you join late, remember this story starts off with 10 adventurers.

Chapter 1 - Prolouge

The story begins on a spaceship, clearly pieced together quickly, where we see Vultro, RavenCool, Wreck, Frankie, Tracker, Shift, Jenny, Terry, and Lightning. Vultro is manning the pilot seat, and he looks up at the crew with excitement.

Vultro: Alright guys, we should be arriving on Ethos any minute now!

Wreck looks over at Vultro, then at Frankie, looking annoyed at Vultro's optimism.

Wreck: Ugh, why exactly are we here again Frankie?

Frankie: It's a surprise! Don't you worry!

Wreck rolls his eyes and leans back in his chair. Shift walks over to Vultro, taking a look out the window of the ship.

Shift: Hey Vultro, where are we anyway?

Vultro: I just told you guys, we're approaching.... uh oh.

Vultro looks down at the dashboard, seeing something that turns his expression to that of major concern.

Frankie: What? What's going on?

Vultro points to the radar scanner, which shows an uncharted planet rapidly approaching.

Vultro: We're heading straight for a nearby planet, and it's most certainly NOT Ethos.

Lighting is snoring on a nearby couch, oblivious to the situation.

RavenCool: Hey... Vultro? I snuck the Sol Emeralds with me. Are we going to crash?

Vultro: WHAT!? You better protect those things, and brace for impact!!!!

KABOOM! The spaceship crash lands in a swampy bog on a mysterious planet. Thankfully, the shielding system broke most of the fall, but the force of the impact sent spaceship parts all over the swamp. RavenCool is the first to surface.

RavenCool: Everyone alright? Anyone that can't swim?

Shift surfaces nearby in the form of a dolphin.

Shift: If not, I can give you a ride!

Vultro breaks the surface, thrashing towards Shift desperately. As he reaches Shift, he scurries frantically onto his back.

Vultro: Thank god we brought you along, Shift. Where'd everyone else go?

A short distance away, Wreck and Frankie submerge from the swamp.

Frankie: So much for a nice date Wreck...

Wreck: THIS was your idea of a date?

Frankie: No! A nice relaxing vacation on Ethos was! Ugh, just forget it. Come on now, let's get over to the group.

Wreck and Frankie swim over to the rest of the group, who continue to surface one by one.

Vultro: Well guys, we should probably try to find a way out of here. The spaceship is obviously out of the question.

Tracker suddenly pops up from under the water, flailing around until he reaches a log to stand on.

Tracker: *gasping* Why did the loo blow up- Oh dear. This is Ethos?

Vultro: No, it's not Tracker. In fact, I have no idea what this place is...

RavenCool: Maybe it's a good thing I brought these emeralds with me after all.

Vultro: Yeah, maybe. Jenny, do you know any spells that can freeze over the swamp or get rid of the water? So we don't have to swim?

Jenny: Not without a Chaos Emerald or two.

Vultro: Alright... well Shift, head over that way. We need to see what's around, if anything.

RavenCool swims over in front of Vultro and Shift.

RavenCool: Wait. Vultro, hold on to this.

RavenCool takes a green emerald out of her chest plate, handing it to Vultro.

RavenCool: In case we get split up, I can't afford to lose these.

Vultro takes the emerald, placing it on his belt. He nods in agreement.

Wreck: Hopefully, we can find someone or something to help.

???: HELP!!

Vultro: Oh god, what was that?

Tracker: I haven't the foggiest, but we'd better find them. It was definitely female…

Frankie: I'm coming with you guys!

Wreck follows closely to Frankie, and RavenCool also turns to begin to follow the group.

Tracker: On second thought, I think I'm going to stay with the ship and see if I can repair it.

Vultro: Fair enough. Let's go guys.

???: HEEEELLLLPPP!!!

Vultro: That came from over there!! Shift, follow that scream!

The group continues towards the frantic screams, until they notice a large cave.

Frankie: Hey look! It's a cave!

Wreck: That must be where the scream came from.

The group enters the cave. The entrance is faintly illuminated by the sunlight outside, but it's hard to see very far. Vultro climbs off of Shift onto dry rocks.

Vultro: I hate caves.

Wreck: Man, this is creepy.

Frankie: No wonder that girl screamed...

???: LET GO OF ME!!

Tracker: Hey, that was a different voice!

Frankie: Something's not right here, we'll be in deep trouble if we're not caref--

Suddenly, Frankie goes silent.

Wreck: Frankie? Hello? Frankie?

Tracker: She must have been captured!

Wreck: Oh GOD NO! NOT FRANKIE!

Vultro: What is going on here...

In the distance, RavenCool is being dragged by a mysterious figure, who is hidden in the shadows.

RavenCool: HELP!

???: Shh, my Sol friend. You will be fine, as will your little pals.

The figure knocks RavenCool over the head, knocking her out.

Vultro and the crew hear the yell for help, but are unsure where in the cave it came from.

Vultro: Guys, we need to find everyone RIGHT NOW! Let's split up. Shift, Wreck, come with me. Jenny, Terry, go with Lightning.

Chapter 2 - Hidden in the Shadows

RavenCool is tied up in a corner of the cave, and is just beginning to regain consciousness. An unknown figure is standing next to her.

???: Now I'll just be taking these Sol Emeralds, thank you!

The figure plucks the six Sol Emeralds out of the chest plate of RavenCool, which are arranged in a circular pattern.

???: Wait... where's the last one?

RavenCool looks up, but is unable to make out who is talking to her.

RavenCool: Lets... let's just say it's with a good friend of mine.

???: Hah! No matter. With the Shoten crystal in our possession, these Sol Emeralds are just a bonus.

The figure outstretches its hands, and the Emeralds begin to float, glowing in different colors.

RavenCool: No person from outside the Sol Dimension should be able to use that power! Metal... RavenCool?

Metal RavenCool steps forward towards RavenCool.

Metal RavenCool: Ha! Very perceptive. I will use you and your little friend here as part of my plan!

Frankie is tied up nearby, and groans as she goes in and out of consciousness.

Metal RavenCool: Quiet, furball! These Sol Emeralds could be of some use, even in part. I can use their energy to amplify the effects of the Shoten crystal!

Suddenly, a loud rumbling occurs. The orange glow of lava lights up the cave as it starts to seep from the ceiling.

RavenCool: Uh.... can we please go somewhere other than here?

A menacing voice comes from near RavenCool.

???: Grrr! Silence! Metal, help me create my lava protective form.

Hearing this voice, Frankie jolts into consciousness, realizing a familiarity to it.

Frankie: Mist… is that you…? Whoever... you're… working… for… will… be… stopped.

Mist: Oooh, oh nooo, the little stupid weakened bat wants to stop me, ooh no.

Lightning, Terry, and Jenny come up behind the rest of the group, and watch the exchange silently. Mist then transforms into a demonic looking red figure, one that is presumably immune to the lava's heat. Metal RavenCool grabs RavenCool by the collar.

Metal RavenCool: Let's go. Mist, let the bat burn.

Lightning takes a step forward into the light.

Lighting: Hey, give us back RavenCool!

Vultro then looks over at Metal RavenCool's sash, in which she has placed the six Sol Emeralds. The center is studded with a mysterious, lime-green crystal with a web of blue running throughout it. He leans over to Lightning.

Vultro: Hey, Lightning.... what's that thing Metal's got? On her sash? It looks like some sort of crystal, but I've never seen one of that shape before.

Mist: Heh heh! The tiny little fox wants the Shoten crystal! Well, let me think…NO!

Terry also decides to step forward, revealing himself to the two villains.

Terry: Oi, you lot! Give us the bloody crystal!

Mist and Metal sneer at the beaver, finding his accent laughable. Mist suddenly transforms into a beaver almost exactly matching Terry.

Mist: "Oi! Gimme the bloody crystal before I get rate maaaad!" 

Mist starts to laugh manically, causing Metal to pause and stifle a laugh. Mist then looks up at Metal, and stops laughing.

Mist: Metal. Your shoulder...

Vultro has scurried up to Metal's shoulder, and swiftly snatches the Shoten crystal from her sash.

Suddenly, the crystal starts glowing, and Vultro feels a surge of energy entering his body.

Metal: What!? How--!

A brilliant flash of blinding white light fills the cave, along with a shock wave that knocks everyone in the cave off of their feet. As it fades, Vultro is now floating in the air, his fur standing on end. He has taken on a glowing bright purple color.

Vultro: WHOA, GUYS! GUYS!!! I'm just like Super Sonic! Ha ha, look at me! I look AWESOME! Ha ha ha!

BAM. Vultro is hit over the head from behind. A booming, menacing voice comes from his direction.

???: Foolsh child.

Vultro falls to the floor unconscious, his fur reverting to normal. The mysterious figure picks up the crystal, embedding it into his belt. He appears to have features of both a fox and a wolf, having large fennec ears but sharp wolf fangs, and stands about as tall as RavenCool. He has tan fur, though he is also slightly transparent and ghostly.

???: Gah, I know I need your help Metal, but I almost went mad without that on me.

Mist: Ha! Nice one, Solidus!

Solidus: Looks like I showed up at just the right time.

Metal RavenCool: Divine... Sol!

In a yellow flash, the two disappear. Wreck, afraid that Frankie will be taken away, steps forward towards Mist.

He throws a punch at Mist, hitting him square in the jaw. Mist falls onto his knees, and Wreck kicks him down to the floor. He then turns to Solidus.

Wreck: And you too, huh?

He throws a punch at Solidus, but his fist goes straight through. Wreck tumbles to the ground.

Solidus: Hahaha! It's of no use.

Solidus grabs Vultro and teleports away.

Lighting: They got RavenCool! And they have TWO sets of powerful gems!

Terry: Yeah, that bloke took Vultro too…

Frankie: Yeah… We need to sorta, you know. FIND HIM!

Shift pulls out her sickle, holding it to Mist's throat.

Shift: Stay down, you hear me!

Lighting: Guys, we should look for our friends. They could be hurt! RavenCool, please be okay...

Chapter 3 - The Escape

RavenCool and Vultro awaken in a small room, with bare walls and only a tiny opening serving as a window. RavenCool starts pounding on the walls furiously. She roars.

RavenCool: How do you get out of here!

An unfamiliar voice comes from through the wall.

???: Will you just shut up already? The chamber is impenetrable!

RavenCool sits down, huffing loudly. A different, more robotic voice also comes from through the wall.

???: Tʜᴇ ʙᴏss ᴡᴏɴ'ᴛ ʙᴇ ᴛᴏᴏ ʜᴀᴘᴘʏ ɪғ ʏᴏᴜ ᴋᴇᴇᴘ sʟᴀᴄᴋɪɴɢ ᴏғғ, Lᴜɴɪᴄ. Nᴏʀ ᴡɪʟʟ ᴡᴇ.

Metal RavenCool: I hope the last time you had to fight my clone, Databyte, she didn't hurt you too bad!

Databyte: Hᴍᴘʜ. Yᴏᴜ'ʀᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄʟᴏɴᴇ.

Lunic: Will you guys shut up? I'm trying to work here!

Lunic is tinkering with a small black device with a rectangular slot in it. Wires are protruding from the sides.

Back inside, RavenCool sits with a defeated look on her face, and Vultro is pacing back and forth.

Vultro: We'll get out of here Raven, I promise.

RavenCool: If I ha more of the Sol Emeralds, I could get out of here with ease. Each of the seven stones harness a different power of the Sol dimension, each one contributing its own form of control over our universe. I discovered that certain combinations of the Emeralds can channel a form of teleportation with them, similar to Chaos Control. It's what Metal RavenCool used to take me here a minute ago. But I have doubt that the green Emerald I gave to you will on its own be able to do that...

Vultro: Even if it could, my hands are tied. I can't reach it!

RavenCool walks over to Vultro, and uses her tail to reach his belt and grab the green emerald.

RavenCool: I have no idea what is going to happen, but we at least have to try.

RavenCool plants her feet, and slams the emerald into the slot on her chest plate with her tail. She takes a deep breath, and grabs onto Vultro with her tail. Metal Ravencool hears the clang from the other side of the wall.

Metal RavenCool: Go check on the prisoners. Did you take that last Sol Emerald from the fox?

Solidus: Only Sol beings can harness that power, what does it matter. Their hands are tied anyways.

Metal RavenCool: You idiot. The wolf is a Sol being! Make sure they don't leave.

Solidus snarls at Metal RavenCool for insulting him like that. He then turns and walks around the corner to the window, and notices the two about to escape. He makes eye contact with RavenCool, who smirks at him smugly.

Solidus: NO!!!

RavenCool: Divine... SOL!

A green flash fills the room, and the two are whisked away. Solidus bangs on the wall and stomps back to the group, growling viciously.

Metal RavenCool: What?!

Solidus: The prisoners. They. Escaped.

Lunic: Ha. You two have fun finding them. I am doing a job, like you remind me to do so often!

Solidus: You're the laziest evil villain I've ever met.

Mist: I don't know, I've seen worse. After all he did make those Sol devices.

Lunic: And what have you done so far, Mist?

Solidus: *growling* Everyone, STOP! Shut up. Listen. Yes, they escaped. But because of you idiots! You put them in the same room! Am I the only sens-- oh, what's the word... sensible? sensible! Am I the only sensible villain here?

Lunic: Yeesh. Someone doesn't like to admit to their own mistakes... you're the one who didn't know they were put together.

Databyte: Yᴇᴀʜ ʙᴇsɪᴅᴇs, ʏᴏᴜʀ ʀᴀɴᴛ ᴡᴀs ʀᴜɪɴᴇᴅ ᴡʜᴇɴ ʏᴏᴜ ғᴏʀɢᴏᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴏʀᴅ "sᴇɴsɪʙʟᴇ."

Mist tries to stifle a laugh, but has a hard time containing himself.

Solidus glances at them furiously, and grabs a hold of Metal RavenCool's sash, putting it on himself. He then takes the Shoten crystal from his belt, and places it in the middle of the sash. Suddenly a blinding flash fills the room. He emerges surrounded by a rainbow colored aura, his fur a bright purple. His very energy is palpable from across the room.

Solidus: Without me, you wouldn't have this Shoten crystal, would you?!? Its power is incredible, and once I get that last Sol Emerald the combination will be nearly unstoppable!! You all better watch what you say around here before I leave you in a swamp puddle with nothing more than the fur on your backs!!!

Solidus transforms back, taking a deep breath to calm himself. He removes the Shoten crystal and places it back on his belt.

Solidus: Now... lets find those prisoners. Lunic, the Sol Taps.

Lunic hands over the black device along with a few others exactly like it.

Solidus: Take one of these, and an emerald so you can teleport if need be, and meet back here when you find them. Understood?

Lunic, Databyte, and Mist each take an emerald from the sash, placing it into the special devices. As they place them in, each one glows and beeps. Metal RavenCool, not needing such a device, puts an emerald directly in her pocket. Solidus takes the rest of the emeralds, the extra devices, and Metal's sash with him, and storms off.

Chapter 4 - The Reunion

RavenCool and Vultro land in a tree, within visible distance of the crash site.

RavenCool: Oh my god... it actually worked! And look where we are!

Vultro: Yes! Yes yes yes! Raven, you're AWESOME. Ha ha!

Vultro yells down to Frankie, who is back with Tracker at the crash site.

Vultro: Hey guys! Up here!!

Frankie hears the call, looking up and smiling when she recognizes them. She flies over to the two.

Frankie: Vultro! RavenCool! Wreck went off. He said he sensed something bad, and wouldn't tell me what. He does that sometimes. I decided to wait here with Tracker.

Vultro: That's Wreck for you, always getting into trouble like me. Listen, guys. That ghost dude took that crystal from me. I think if we can manage to take it back from him, we can stop those villains! The problem is the Sol emeralds are almost all in their possession.

RavenCool: Which is a problem. I don't need Blaze on my tail about those when I get home. Hey, where's Lighting?

Frankie: He disappeared shortly after you guys, I thought he was with you...

RavenCool looks down at her feet, with a sad look on her face.

RavenCool: Lighting...

Suddenly, Wreck's voice echoes from far away.

Wreck: Easy now robot…! Ha ha… oh no! AAAH!

Frankie: WRECK!

RavenCool and Vultro grab on to Frankie, who flies them down towards Wreck's voice.

Metal RavenCool has her arms around Wreck's neck.

Metal RavenCool: Your connection with the Sol is strong, fox. Stronger than any Mobian I've ever seen.

With surprisingly little effort, he breaks free of the hold.

Wreck: Sol? What are you talking about? Hey wait… I know you... from the cave!

Metal RavenCool notices Frankie and the crew land nearby, and darts over to her, grabbing her by the arm.

Metal RavenCool: If I can't make you surrender, maybe taking your little girlfriend will! Divine... Sol!

Metal RavenCool and Frankie disappear in a yellow flash.

Wreck: FRANKIE! NO!

Tracker stumbles out of the nearby bushes, clearly shocked by the encounter.

Vultro: Just when I thought the gang was getting back together. Come on guys, we have to follow them!

The crew sets off in the direction of the building in which Vultro and RavenCool were held captive. Along the way, they encounter a red and gold hedgehog and a pink hedgehog, who are holding a gem stone.

Red: I can't believe we found a Sol Emerald! If one is here, maybe the other 6 are too!

Pink: Lets keep searching. Perhaps there is more life on this planet than just us.

RavenCool growls very loudly at the two.

RavenCool: Give me that Sol Emerald right now!

Red: Why should I? I need these emeralds to harness the power of the Sol dimension. Besides, I found it fair and square.

RavenCool: Sol dimension? I'm the future guardian of the Sol dimension! You want me to tell Blaze you stole them?! Both of us will end up burnt to a crisp!

The pink hedgehog seems taken aback by the statement. She glances at RavenCool's chest plate and notices the green emerald embedded into it. She pauses for a moment, then looks back up at RavenCool.

Pink: First of all, Shimm didn't steal them, he found them. Aaaand, uh.. we can loan it to you, if we team up to stop the villains to get the rest of the emeralds. Deal?

The pink hedgehog reaches her hand out to shake. RavenCool hesitates, but reluctantly shakes hands with her, realizing she can probably overpower them if need be.

Red: When we need it, you'll give it back. Understand?

RavenCool ignores her. The red hedgehog hands over the red Sol Emerald. RavenCool then embeds the stone into the her chest plate, next to the green one she took from Vultro.

Pink: We're we going now?

Red: Lets follow them.

Shift: Who are you two anyways?

Red: I'm Shimmer the Hedgehog.

The pink hedgehog smiles.

Pink: And I'm Penelope! And we just made a deal with RavenCool, so now we're a part of your team!!

Shift: Um. Cool, I'm Shift.

Penelope: Nice to meet you Shift!

Vultro: And I'm Vultro the Fennec. Penelope, Shimmer, nice to meet you.

Shimmer: Nice to meet you, Vultro.

Shimmer shakes hands with Vultro, and Penelope giggles.

Penelope: Hi Vultro!

Vultro: We've lost our friend, a bat named Frankie, to one of the villains. There's also a bunch more of us unaccounted for. If you want, we could use some help.

Shimmer: Why not.

RavenCool: Don't forget. A hedgehog named Lighting was also captured. That's very important.

Penelope: Okay, we'll find Lighting too then!

Chapter 5: The Search

Penelope: If we're going your friends we have to get a move on!

Shimmer: Penny is right. Lets get finding! So where did you last see them?

Shift: Hold on a sec!

Shift transforms into a Bloodhound, mimicking the appearance of Tracker. He points his snout into the air and begins sniffing. After a moment, he points towards the smell.

Shift: That way!

Tracker: Coulda just done that myself, mate...

Penelope: Let's just go!

The heroes follow Shift for what seems like miles.

Vultro: Are you sure you're going the right way, Shift?

Penelope: We've been walking for like, FOREVER! When will we get there?

RavenCool: Thats it. I'm leading, we need a trained wolf nose for this.

Tracker: How about you just let THE BLOODY BLOODHOUND handle it?

Shift: Guys, stop teaming up on me. I'm trying my best...

Penelope pats Shift on the back encouragingly.

Penelope: Everyone calm down. It's okay Shift, you're doing great, but let's follow RavenCool instead for a bit.

RavenCool begins to nod, but stops with her head high in the air. She begins to sniff furiously.

RavenCool: Shh! It's right on the tip of my nose...

Shift turns the other direction, taking a deep sniff of the air.

Shift: I smell... something evil. Whatever it is, it's NOT a friendly smell.

RavenCool: Well Shift, I smell a hedgehog. Which would be Lighting.

Vultro: Shift? What direction is that "bad" smell coming from?

Shift: The one I smell is coming from the northeast!

RavenCool: Well the one I smell is coming from the west.

Vultro: Let's just split up.

Raven heads off to the west, taking Wreck, Vultro, and Terry with her. Tracker, Penelope, and Shimmer follow Shift. RavenCool continues sniffing.

Wreck: What ya smellin' this time? A steak with legs? Because I bet you could smell that.

RavenCool: Shh... I know it's Mobian, I just can't tell if it's Lightning.

Terry: What 'appened to being able to make out a hedgehog by smell?

Raven grits her teeth, clearly annoyed.

Wreck: Shuddup, Terry.

Terry: Sorry...

PLOT MISSING

Shift: Tracker, do you smell that? What is that?

Tracker sniffs around a few times before he hits a scent that is evidently not pleasant.

Tracker: Bloody hell! I know that smell too well. It smells of burning plastic. Pretty common in Techtown, but out here?

Shift: It's horrible! It smells like it's coming from straight ahead.

The group continues on into a small clearing, where they see a pile of what appear to be scorched electronics smoldering. Strangely, the scrap pile is surrounded by frost and ice.

Penny: How can there be all that frost so close to the fire? How is there even ice in a climate like this!?

Shift transforms back into her natural form. Suddenly, they notice a figure standing about 20 feet away, who is facing away from them. It appears to have droopy quills, some of which point sideways.

Penny: Hey! Did you do all this?

The figure turns around, revealing itself to be a tall blue hedgehog. There is rage in his eyes, and his piercing glance palpable from all the way across the field.

"Hand over all of your materials," he says, his hands at his sheath, which seems to be holding a rapier. "Or I'll have to take them more forcefully."

Shimm rolls his eyes. "Hey buddy, we don't have anything worth taking! Relax." Shift takes a step forward towards the hedgehog, and puts her hand out to signal to Shimm to cut it out. "Don't listen to him. We don't want any more trouble. It's been a long day for all of us..." she explains.

"You think a long day is large enough an excuse to satisfy me? You are not the only troubled ones. Hand me your supplies and materials, or I will result to more brute-like manners." He pulled out a silver rapier. "This is your final warning."

Shimm scoffs. "Yeah, right. Penny, come on. Let's show this clown who's boss." Shimm shoves past Shift, and Penny follows somewhat hesitantly. Shift shakes her head, and then draws her sickle. Shimm jumps up, and goes for a high kick at the blue hedgehog.

As Shimm would hit the hedgehog, he feels his leg suddenly stop-- he has turned into ice, which has also encased Shimm's foot. The ice begins to travel up Shimm's body, freezing him in midair. Scoffing at the boy, the hedgehog stabbed his rapier into the ground. Ice spikes rose out of the ground, surrounding the rest of the crew.

"Who are you and what do you want with us?" Penny yells out. "We crashed here, we really do have nothing!" Shift adds.

"Well, then, you'll tell me what I need and more useful places that can be raided," the hedgehog said. "Unless you don't value life."

Tracker looks down at the scrap pile again and studies it for a moment. He recognizes the circuitry as some sort of gemstone harness device. "Are you after the Sol emeralds...?"

"I'm not looking for those worthless trinkets, child," the hedgehog responded. "I'm here... for reasons that don't concern you. Quit the foolishness and tell me where I need to go. I needn't waste my time with children like you."

Penny has finally had enough, and snaps at the hedgehog. "How are we supposed to know where you need to go!?" Penny yells out in frustration. "You don't want the emeralds, you don't want us, and we already told you we crash landed here. Leave us alone and go bother someone else!" She clenches her fists tightly. "There's a prison up on the hill a couple miles back where our friends were held hostage. Maybe you can go find some stupid supplies up there!! And another thing, why do you have to be so condescending and pessimistic! We don't deserve to be treated like children, just lighten up a bit! Why don't you--"

Tracker wonders if Penny is having some sort of mental breakdown. But then, he notices the steam rising up from behind the hedgehog. Moments later, Shimm rises up as well, sopping wet from the melted ice. "She's... stalling for him! Surely he's too smart for that," Tracker thought to himself.

"Really? You've repeated this same point several times. Either you're planning a sneak attack, or you're a flat-out idiot - based on the conversation I've heard, I'll assume the latter. Don't get in my way again." Shimm goes for a kick to the back of the hedgehog's knees, but he doesn't so much as flinch. He turns around. "I'll let you go, but cross me again and I won't be as merciful. Consider yourself blessed by the gods that I'm not killing a nuisance like you." Putting his rapier away, the hedgehog started to run away.

Shimm walks back over to the group. the water now evaporating off of him in a flash of steam. "You like it? It's pyrokinesis. I'm able to heat up my body at any time," he says smugly. "What a jerk that guy was though, I wonder what he is looking for?" "These scraps look like they were some sort of device for harnessing the Sol Emeralds," Tracker said. "He's either lying about the Emeralds, or he had a run in with one of the blokes that took our friends. I'll see if I can pick up a scent off of it.

Suddenly, a young voice yelled, "Hey, didja say somethin' 'bout the Emeralds?" as electricity began to crackle around the group, a black figure stood in the trees.

"I am SO done with surprise guests today!" Shift yelled out. "If you're gonna try to threaten us, just leave us alone already, okay!"

"Or, maybe, you can tell me what you were doin' with that freak," the figure said. "If you have bad plans with 'em, prepare to meet the Blue Thunder."

"We were looking for our friends," Penny explained. "Yeah, that clown of a hedgehog threatened us about wanting to raid supplies or something, he wouldn't shut up about it! Good thing I was there to protect all of us," Shimm added smugly. Penny rolled her eyes.

"Could you just tell us who you are, and who he is?" Shift asked. "I'm tired of not knowing what's going on."

Chapter X: The Showdown

Vultro grabs Jenny's hand, and places his other hand on the Shoten crystal. A flash fills the air as the two foxes transform. Vultro and Jenny are now floating high in the sky, both glowing a bright purple.

Jenny: Oh my god, Vultro... I can't believe this is happening!

Vultro looks down towards RavenCool. RavenCool plants her feet, and aims her hands at Vultro. She takes a deep breath.

Vultro: NOW, RAVEN!!

RavenCool juts her hands forward, and the seven Sol Emeralds start to glow. She transforms, taking on a blazing red aura and turning her fur a similar shade. Suddenly, a rainbow-colored beam shoots from her hands into Vultro and Jenny. Their veins begin to glow the colors of the seven Sol emeralds.

There is an explosion of light and energy, knocking up a cloud of dust. As the dust settles, Vultro and Jenny are now flashing a bright rainbow color. They appear to be vibrating in place from the immense energy.

RavenCool: This REALLY hurts. I don't know how long I can hold it.

Vultro: Don't worry, this shouldn't take long!

Jenny: What do we do now?

Vultro: Go for his heart, Jenny!

Solidus snarls, and looks over at RavenCool. He realizes she is diverting all of her energy towards the foxes, and turns to throw his dagger at the now vulnerable wolf.

As the two foxes start to move towards Solidus, time appears to slow to a near halt around them. Solidus has his hand outstretched, his blade seeming to defy gravity as it floats halfway in between him and RavenCool. RavenCool's energy beam is moving at a snail's pace toward them, and it appears as if she is very slowly turning the beam towards the blade. Wreck is for some reason on his knees, an expression of pain on his face. Vultro notices an afterimage of themselves being left behind as they fly through the air, realizing they must be traveling at an incredible speed.

Vultro turns back forward and is heading straight for Solidus' chest. He looks at Jenny, and sees she is intensely focused, her eyes locked ahead of her. He turns back forward. As they reach him, it appears that they pass right through him, as others had before. Vultro and Jenny land on the ground behind Solidus, as the dirt ever so slowly begins to explode upwards from the impact. Vultro turns around to see how he possibly could have dodged the blow. As he turns to face him, however, he notices a hole in Solidus's chest, as a series of cracks beginning to very slowly web out into his body. There are shards suspended in the air behind him, slowly moving towards them.

RavenCool's beam is moving toward the blade, but not nearly fast enough. Vultro lets go of Jenny and starts to run towards the blade, but it is too late. The beam disconnects from them and in an instant, time reverts back to normal. Solidus suddenly shatters as if made of glass, scattering into a million tiny shards. The ground explodes into a crater where the two had landed. Before anyone can react, RavenCool is hit directly in the stomach by the blade. Her roars suddenly stop. She looks down at the blade, then over to Vultro, falling to the ground. Her aura disappears and her fur returns to its normal color.

Vultro: RAVEN!!

The two foxes dart over, Wreck still on his knees nearby. Tracker looks over to Terry, eyes wide open.

Tracker: This is not what I signed up for, mate...

Jenny: What do we do, guys?

Vultro: Whatever you do, don't remove that blade. It'll only make the bleeding worse. Wreck... are you okay?

Wreck: I... I... when Raven was all powered up like that, I couldn't move. It felt like my insides were being ripped out.

Vultro's ponders this for a moment, when he suddenly remembers back to Wreck's earlier encounter with Metal Ravencool.

Metal RavenCool: Your connection with the Sol is strong, fox. Stronger than any Mobian I've ever seen.

Vultro's eyes light up with excitement.

Vultro: Wreck, that's it! Remember what Metal RavenCool said? About you having a connection with the Sol?

Wreck: Yeah...?

Vultro: Well Raven said that it was really hurting her to do what she just did with the Sol emeralds. Perhaps you are somehow connected to the Sol dimension, as she is?

Wreck: Tch. That's insane, Vultro.

Wreck turns away, clearly conflicted about what to feel about this potential revelation. Vultro darts over in front of him.

Vultro: Wreck, don't you get what this means? If you're Sol, then maybe you can get us out of here! Raven has all seven emeralds right on her chest. Surely if you have a connection, it would be worth a try?

Wreck is conflicted, his eyes still fixed into the distance.

Vultro: Wreck, look at Raven... come on.

Wreck turns around and sees Raven, passed out, the knife still embedded in her stomach. He nods his head slowly.

Wreck: You're right, you're right. So what do I do?

Vultro goes over to Raven and ever so gently unhooks the chestplate from her.

Vultro: Put this on. I have to go see something.

Wreck reluctantly puts on the chest plate, though it is slightly too large for him. He begins to feel an unusual sensation coursing through his body.

Vultro has darted over to the crater he created moments ago. He jumps down inside for a moment, popping back up with something in his hands.

Vultro: WRECK! I have the Shoten Crystal! Maybe it can help us!

Wreck looks back and forth at the crew in disbelief.

Wreck: How? What if I'm not able to do it?

Vultro: You need to try! Just picture where you want us to go and say the words! "Divine Sol!"

Vultro darts back over, and grabs on to RavenCool's paw, reaching out to Jenny. Jenny grabs on, as does Lightning, Shift, Terry, Tracker, and Frankie. Frankie reaches out to Wreck, and he grabs her hand too.

Frankie: Just try your best.

He closes his eyes reluctantly, but has no idea what to do. He remembers the words he was told to say and shouts them out.

Wreck: Divine Sol!

The emeralds begin to glow faintly, repeatedly flashing as if they were a sputtering engine trying to start. The crew remains where they are. He tries a bit louder.

Wreck: Divine... Sol!

The emeralds are flashing brighter now, but are still not creating a warp. Wreck opens his eyes and the emeralds stop glowing. Frankie lets go and turns Wreck's head towards her, smiling.

Frankie: You can do it sweetie, I believe in you.

Wreck grabs Frankie's hand again, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. He feels... something. But he's not sure what it is. He focuses hard, and pictures the rolling hills of South Island back on Mobius. He opens his eyes one more time to look at Frankie, and smiles. Closing his eyes again, he yells out the words at the top of his lungs.

Wreck: DIVINE... SOL!

Suddenly, silence. Thinking he must have messed it up, Wreck opens his eyes. He realizes they are indeed back on Mobius. He looks around, and everyone made it with him. Wreck walks over to RavenCool, who is still out unconscious. Vultro is still clutching on to her, trying to get her to wake her up once more when he notices Wreck standing there.

Vultro: Wreck... You must be from the Sol dimension. I told you so!

Wreck: That... was the coolest thing I've ever done.
