Plot[]

Surge the Hedgehog's Antiverse counterpart, Blackout the Hedgehog, and his league have travelled from their Antiverse to the Primeverse to do what they had done in the Antiverse: destroy life on Mobius. However, this will be done in a different and crueler way. They have managed to set up hidden pylons all over the surface of the planet designed to cause massive changes within the magnetism of the planet, which will mess with the planet's magnetic field. If they succeed with making the magnetic field essentially nonexistent, and after that point there's no recreating the magnetic field, then the galactic radiation will eventually erode the atmosphere from the planet, killing all life on it. Can the Primeverse heroes stop this?

Chapter 1: Anomalies[]

Swoop: -sprawled out on a chair, bored- What to do today...? -picks up a horseshoe magnet and twirls it in his hand-

Surge: -relaxing in another chair- I have no clue bu-- -his electrokinesis makes him spark uncontrollably- Wha-what!?

Swoop: -the magnet he was holding starts shooting around in different directions- Whoa!

Surge: -calms his electrokinesis down- Ugh... maybe a sunspot cycle is going on...

"Sunspots don't do that," Jesse said, surprised.

Surge: They can screw with electromagnetism, and my powers happen to be electromagnetic, because electrokinesis... the magnet probably went crazy because the high amount of charge I just gave off...

Swoop: I have no idea what he just said, I hate physics.

"Yeah, but... never mind." Jesse didn't get it either.

Surge: Shouldn't be a problem... I think, as longs as it's only sunspots this is the worst that'd occur, that and I might get overcharged or virtually lose my powers, but that's about it.

Jesse sighed. "Yeah okay, can we go do something?"

Swoop: Yeah, I'm bored! I'm ready to ram into something!

Surge: -facepalms- Yeah, sure, since I tortured you with physics, it's your turn.

"Can we at least get a bite to eat?"

Swoop: Yeah! I'm starving!

Surge: Sure.

Jesse gets up and goes out the door in front of them.

-Surge and Swoop follow Jesse-

"So where do you guys want to eat?" he asked.

Swoop: -in a clowning manner- Someplace with chili dogs!?

Surge: -punches Swoop- Be a little more serious a little more often, please? Anyway... I'm up for some meat, so either a steakhouse or fast food.

Swoop: I'm voting for fast food, -sneerring- as Mr. Serious!

Surge: -facepalms- Sometimes I hate living with you.

"Fine, we'll just go to the mall and find a fast food place in there. You okay with that?" Jesse said.

Surge: Yeah, I'm fine with that.

Swoop: Yeah!

After walking for a bit, Jesse picks out a fast food restaraunt and heads over there.

-Surge and Swoop follow Jesse-

Jesse strolls right into the restaraunt and to the line to order.

-Surge and Swoop stand with Jesse to order-

Jesse orders a bacon cheeseburger with extra bacon and onions ("What's your problem with extra bacon?"), fries, and a lemonade.

Surge: -orders a bacon cheeseburger with just ketchup added on, fries, and a coke-

Swoop: -orders a mushroom cheeseburger, fries, and water-

Jesse took a booth and immediately started stuffing down his food.

Swoop: -sits accross from Jesse and starts devouring his food-

Surge: -sits next to Swoop and starts eating-

Jesse is done before either of them. He belches loudly, followed by commenting, "Hope something interesting happens today, I'm really freakin bored."

Swoop: -finishes ravonously- I know, right? I'm so bored, I could fall from the moon!

Surge: -while still finishing, punches Swoop-

"That's still a horrible joke," Jesse says, getting up and dumping his trash in the trash can.

Surge: -finishes- It's only funny, when someone other than you makes it. -throws out trash in the garbage-

Swoop: -throws his trash away and shrugs- Whatever guys.

Jesse walks out. "Man I hope we get to do something cool today."

-Surge and Swoop walk after Jesse-

Surge: I know, right? Something other than listening to Swoop going on and on at it.

"Maybe you can shock some sense into him," Jesse laughed.

Surge: Sometimes that just gets him hyper, and hyper plus bored is the worst combo with an annoying dude like Swoop, for us.

"Then what the heck else we gonna do?"

Surge: Our best hope is--

Swoop: -interupting- I'm outta here! Imma fly to find entertainment! Smell ya later! -flies off-

Surge: ...That.

"Freakin finally," Jesse laughed.

Surge: -laughs- Like I said, he's a good friend, though living with him is another story. -sparks a bit- Ugh... you never know when a sunspot cycle will start or stop, I think I'll be doing that for a while.

Jesse seems skeptical. "You're sure that's sunspots?"

Surge: Well, that's the best explanation for my powers going out of wack, as of right now.

"Sure there's not any other possibilities?"

Surge: There's not enough information to make room for any others, yet.

==Meanwhile, with Swoop==

Swoop: -flying by, and notices a large structure with what looks like a huge thunderbolt is crashing into it, acting as a lightning rod- Huh...? What's that...? -flies closer, Gregor and Shroud can be seen-

Shroud: -attempting to fix something- Argh... this dang resistor isn't cooperating...

Gregor, a gray and very violent looking wolf, said rather angrily, "If you'd let me do it, I'd have it fixed in no time."

Shroud: Yeah, by putting your fist through it? Blackout would murder you if you did that...

Swoop: Hmm... what's up? -flies closer-

"Fine, you dick, you do it, just don't take too long. We're on a timetable, man."

Shroud: If Blackout wanted speed he'd send Ari to do this. -finally fixes it, and sighs- There...

"Took ya long enough," Gregor said, annoyed.

Shroud: -glares at Gregor- Like I said, if Blackout wanted this done quickly, Ari would've been sent. Anyway, let's get out of here...

Swoop: -flys closer, within visual distance- Hmm... This looks strange...

Gregor sees Swoop out of the corner of his eye. He mutters quietly, "Possible hostile at your eight o'clock high." He pretends not to notice Swoop visually, however.

Shroud: -looks and sees Swoop out of the corner of his eye also- Hm... what do you suggest we should do? Bring him in?

Gregor whispers as he turns away from Swoop, "We leave. If he tries anything on the pylon, we grab him. Simple as that."

Shroud: -nods-

Swoop: Let's check it out! -zooms to the pylon-

Gregor and Shroud walked off, pretending not to see Swoop.

Swoop: Hmm... -flies around the pylon, inspecting it- Surge would know about this kind of stuff... he's an electrician, so... hmm...

Gregor grabs him from the ground after sneaking back up and pulls him down.

Swoop: -is grabbed- Urk!! Wh-what!?

Gregor holds his claws up to Swoop's throat. "You resist, you die. Let's go."

Swoop: -gulps- ...

"Alright Shroud, lead the way," Gregor said, pushing Swoop along.

Shroud: -walks away, leading Gregor and Swoop-

Chapter 2: Captured, by Antiverse[]

Shroud enters the "ship's bridge"-like room, with a large viewscreen with an oval that has fluctuating orange and blue on it. In front of the screen, there's several consoles, with Ari at the controls. Swoop looks around with awe, but saying nothing for his own life's sake.

"Welcome back," said Ari, a dark orange echidna in a labcoat. "Who's the new guy?" Gregor shot back, "A prisoner. Go get Blackout and ask him what we're to do with him." Ari pressed a few buttons, remoetly sending a message to Blackout. "Done."

On an extremely large satallite, that looked like a moon from the far side, the near side having a large spike protruding down to the planet. Inside, Blackout, a blue hedgehog with red streaks on the corners of his eyes stands behind a red-orange hedgehog, Typhoon, who is currently at the controls similar to the previous room, the screen displaying the same oval. "Blackout," Typhoon reported, "It seems Gregar has fetched us a prisoner." Blackout perked up. "A prisoner, you say?" he said with a mix of boredom, irritation, and interest. "Yes sir" Typhoon replied, "Any action you would like to take?" Blackout thought for a moment. "Tell Gregar to hold him, and then report back to the ARK, you will go back down in his place." Blackout said. Typhoon pressed several buttons, sending a message to Gregar. "Done," Typhoon said with finality. "You are dismissed, you may go await Gregar's arrival." Blackout ordered. Typhoon stood, and turned to Blackout. "Thank you, sir," he said respectfully, and left the room.

Gregor grabbed up the prisoner and pushed him in the shuttle. "Send us up, Ari," he said. Ari began the flight sequence, and actually remotely flew it to the satellite so Gregor could watch the prisoner. Twenty minutes later, the ship docked with the satellite.

Typhoon was waiting for the ship to dock about five minutes before it docked. Once it did dock, he looked in the shuttle and saw Gregor. He nodded to him, then stood by the door.

Gregor released the airlock and walked the prisoner out. He nodded silently to Typhoon as he passed him.

Swoop saw Typhoon as he was pushed along by Gregar, amazed at Typhoon's similarities to himself. He suddenly felt very afraid as to where he is. Typhoon, on the other hand, was stunned but angered by the similarities. He shot Swoop a cold look and walked inside the shuttle. He engaged the airlock, and dedocked the ship. Twenty minutes later, the ship redocked with the ground base, and Typhoon went to the bridge.

Gregor brought Swoop to Blackout, and bowed to him. "I've brought the prisoner, sir. We picked him up trying to mess around with the pylons."

Blackout turned to Gregar, and then looked at Swoop. "I see," Blackout responded, "Good work. We cannot allow anyone that even has an idea about our plan. Take him to a holding cell, with the proper restraints. Report back here when you're finished." Swoop looked up at Blackout, and noticed that he looked very similar to Surge, just like how Typhoon looked just like himself earlier. He smartly remained silent. Blackout also noticed the similarities between Typhoon and Swoop.

"Yes sir," Gregor responded, then promptly took Swoop to the cells. He restarined him with a little extra precaution. "Comfortable?" he asked sarcastially.

Swoop didn't answer, knowing the way he talks, that if he seriously annoyed his friends, he'd surely be killed by those that don't like him. He simply laid on the floor, relaxed.

"Good," said Gregor. He stepped out of the cell and locked it shut, activated the electrified bars, and then reported back to Blackout.

Blackout noticed Gregor as he reported back to him. "So, the prisoner has been secured?" he asked.

"Yes, sir. Any other orders for now?" Gregor said loyally.

"None at the moment," Blackout replied. "...Doesn't the prisoner bear striking resemblence to Typhoon?"

"I noticed that..." Gregor responded. "Perhaps he's this world's equivalent to him?"

"Perhaps, Gregor, perhaps," Blackout said, "Which leads me to wonder, if there are others, to some of us..."

"Or to you," Gregor said with a hint of realization. "We may have some trouble with this world..."

Blackout puts a hand on Gregor's shoulder, and shakes it gently. "I've trained you well, Gregor," he said, "If there is an equivalent to me in this world, it'd be a harder battle than taking down Blizzard..."

"Sir, I'm going to be honest," Gregor said. "I doubt I could fight an equivalent to you and get anywhere near winning. You've trained me well, it's true, but I couldn't ever beat you. You and I both know it."

"Yes... which is why if we do happen to come accross an equivalent, I and only I am able to take him on. And give him the same fate as Blizzard," Blackout said, "Which, I will admit, defeating Blizzard was no easy task. Defeating an equivalent to me will only be harder than that."

"I have confidence in you, sir," he said. "You're the best fighter there ever was."

"And since that is true," Blackout replied, "It's only natrual that the opponents would become stronger, to challenge my power, only for me to throw them down."

"We've never failed before," Gregor said, a smile spreading across his face, "and we won't now."

"Also true," Blackout agreed, "however, the reason why we never fail is because we always ensure that victory is assured. Retake your post, and tell Ari to have the team be on heightened awareness for equivalents."

"I assume you'd like me to call Typhoon and have him come back up?" Gregor asked.

Blackout processed Gregor's question for a moment, making a decision. "Yes, call him back up. I have a feeling our prisoner is smart. And this is a great excuse to keep him preoccupied anyways."

"Yes sir," Gregor said, and he promptly left. He contacted the ground base with the computer terminal. "Ari, we may have a problem." "What do you mean, sir?" Ari responded. Gregor sighed, "We believe our prisoner to be a physical equivalent to Typhoon--" Ari cut him off, "And that means, there might be ones of us. Even Blackout. I'll raise the security and inform the team to keep their eyes open for equivalents. Anything else, sir?" Gregor laughed. "You're a smart man, Ari. Just send Typhoon back up on the shuttle, and I'm coming back down." "Yes sir," Ari responded. "Shroud and I will be awaiting your arrival." Gregor severed the connection.

Blackout crossed his arms and looked back up at the orange and blue oval, still having two distinct sides of orange and blue. Meanwhile, Typhoon used the shuttle to get back to the space station. He arrived twenty minutes later.

Gregor brushed by Typhoon on his way into the shuttle, with only the words, "Report to Blackout." He didn't have near the same kind of respect for him as he did for Blackout -- after all, he was Typhoon's superior. He closed up the doors to the shuttle and took off. Approximately twenty minutes later, he landed back in at the ground level base.

Typhoon respectfully obeyed and went to the bridge, where Blackout stood in his usual spot, transfixed on the oval. "I assume that Ari has filled you in." Blackout said. "Yes sir," Typhoon replied, "He did." "Good," Blackout said, "Then you know why I need you here. Take your post." "Yes sir," Typhoon obeyed loyally. "What's the ETA to align with the next pylon?" Blackout asked. "In about two hours, sir" Typhoon replied. "Good," Blackout said, with some assurance.

Ari filled Gregor in. "The air station is going to be aligning with the next pylon in approximately two hours. We need to be there to make sure it stays in working order." Gregor responded, "I'll take Shroud and make sure it's still good to go. You keep in contact... and while I'm thinking about it, look into our other equivalents while you're at it." Ari nodded. "I'll get on it, sir."

Shroud was moving some heavy equipment to a storage facility, his shadow arms wrapping around the entire package, and struggling with great difficulty.

"Need some help?" came Gregor's sarcastic voice from behind him.

Startled by Gregor's voice, his arms snap back to normal, dropping the equipment. "Wah!" Also due to being startled, he falls back on his back by his own strength he was using on the equipment. "Ow..."

"Nice one," Gregor said with a snarl. "You'd better hope none of that is damaged, or Blackout might just have your head."

Shroud growled at the statement. He slowly got up. "So... we're gonna check out another pylon I assume?"

"Yeah," Gregor said. "We've gotta make sure it stays in working order until the aerial station lines up with it. That's about an hour and 45 minutes from now, so we've got an hour 15 to get there."

"Got it," Shroud said, with distainful respect, and faced Gregor, ready to move out with him.

Gregor brought Shroud along with him back to Ari. "Alright, Ari, what's the fastest way to get there?" Ari pointed to the shuttle. "It should take no more than ten minutes to get there with the shuttle. I'll fly it remotely for you two." "Good," Gregor said back, stepping back into the shuttle.

Shroud followed Gregor into the shuttle. "Let's hope there isn't a resistor problem, again..." he commented.

"Or anyone else we'll have to put up with," Gregor said, somewhere between a laugh and annoyance. Ari started up the shuttle, and it took off.

==Meanwhile==

Surge and Jesse were walking down a street, obviously bored. "Dang, Swoop's been gone for a while..." Surge said with a slight inflection of worry.

"What, are you worried?" Jesse laughed. He obviously wasn't concerned. "That's just better for us."

"Better for us, sure, but if it's at his expense that just makes me feel bad, personally, y'know?" Surge replied with a somewhat serious tone, "He may be annoying, but it's worse if he gets himself into something deep, like needing help deep."

Chapter 3: Dimension and Time, Collide[]

Suddenly, a mysterious time portal appeared in front of them. The gang stood, ready for anything that would come their way. What dashed through was a white hedgehog with blue futuristic clothing and strange markings on his gloves. Beside him was an attractive black hedgehog-like being, with dark and sexy clothing.

"Who the heck is this?" Jesse said.

"Who are you?" Surge demanded assertively, "And, where did you come from?"

"I'm Shine...Shine the Hedgehog." said the white hedgehog. "And this is my friend, Fetalia."

"We came to the past to stop a catastrophe from happening!" said Fetalia

"Right, sounds boring," Jesse said uncaringly.

"Well then, the name's Surge, Surge the Hedgehog," Surge introduced himself, "And my uninterested friend here is Jesse. What kind of catastrophe, may I ask?"

"In the future, this planet has become uninhabitable." said Shine. "Because the Antiverse is trying to destroy the Magnetic field. When this happens, all life on this planet will cease to exist and many of this planets inhabitants will have to migrate to another planet."

Jesse thought these guys were idiots. "Well obviously, if you came back in time to try and stop it, you'd know about the 'time paradox' theory first."

"That's the point, idiot!" said Fetalia. "We came here to stop the antiverse and save this planet."

"Huh? Magnetic field destruction!?" Surge said, rather surprised, "That's probably why my electrokinesis has been going out of wack!" At that moment, Surge started to spark again for a few seconds.

"I was going to say something to be a dick, but what you guys just said actually makes sense now," Jesse noted, understanding via Surge's predicament.

"So are you gonna help or just sit here and let the world die?" asked Fetalia.

"I don't know about you Jesse, but I'm going," Surge said.

"What, do you think I'm honestly gonna say no?" Jesse laughed. "I'm comin."

"That's what I thought." said Fetalia

"No, I thought you'd do just that," Surge shot back at Jesse, and laughed. Then turned his attention to Shine and Fetalia. "So how do we stop these Antiverse guys?"

"We gotta raid the antiverse, find a portal to their realm!" said Shine.

"Find a portal? It's just that simple?" Jesse laughs. "Well I'll get back to you when cross dimensional portals are actually possible."

Surge seemed skeptical about Shine's plan, and said, "Raid them? When they're attacking our universe's Mobius's magnetic field? Seems like to me they're already here and trying to make a mess of the magnetic field, my electrokinesis going crazy proves that."

"These guys are able to absorb electric charges, and water only makes them stronger." Shine said. "So....we gotta think of some other way to knock 'em down!"

"It also sounds like these guys know what they're doing," Surge commented, "How do you know if they haven't done something similar to their own world?"

"They did." said Fetalia. "So they want to recreate their own world....at the price of ours."

"Or they just like destroying crap. If they destroyed their own they probably want to keep it that way," Jesse said.

Surge still seemed skeptical, "It doesn't make sense though, two destroyed worlds, taking the same place in two different universes doesn't accomplish 'recreating' thier world, if I'm interpreting 'recreating' correctly."

"They're gonna try to merge all this world's dimensions together into theirs, destroying each one individually." explained Fetalia. "Some of ours have even been either enslaved or turned on their own realms to join the Antiverse."

"Like I'm surprised," said Jesse. "Power is power, lots of people want it."

"True, but it still doesn't make sense, you have slaves and power, but with a bunch of dead planets, there's no empire, I don't see the point, unless they built buildings to have remedies to that," Surge pointed out.

"I honestly don't think they care about that...." said Shine.

Surge seemed extremely puzzled, but shrugged it off after a moment, "At any rate, they need to be stopped, and then we won't have to worry about what would have happened."

"Yeah! Let's kick their tails in!" said Shine.

Surge looked at Fetalia and blushed faintly before responding to Shine, "Yeah! Where to go first?"

"No idea...." said Fetalia.

"Hmm..." Surge said, "Sounds like a problem... but they have to have some sort of way to be effecting the magnetic field, maybe an electric current, as electric currents do generate magnetism..."

"Yeah, but who could be helping?" asked Fetalia.

"I don't know, but then again, I don't think they need help, especially if they got a scientist who knows this kind of stuff," Surge replied, and scratched his head, in an almost unoticeble nervousness to it.

"What's up with you?" asked Fetalia

Surge, while somehow being able to hide it, was startled by Fetalia asking the question. He quickly regained his composure. He replied coolly, "Nothing, just attempting to process the whole Antiverse thing, because I heard that there are counterparts for some realities... and maybe there's one of me... thought of that is creepy."

Most girls would probably fall for this, but Fetalia knew better than that. She noticed how nervous he was around her and how he was constantly looked at her. Fetalia got up to his face, mad as a bull. "You were looking at my breasts, weren't you?!"

Surge jumped back, scared out of his skin, stripped of his cool and composure, as is his biggest weakness was women, and jumped onto the second-story window sill of a building like a scared cat, "N-No!" he stammered, "I-It's just y-y-you just look a-awesome... i-in general..." He blushed furiously, embarressed by the situation, and hid his face.

"So you were looking at them!" she snapped.

"N-no..." he stammered again, realizing he could be killed by this, "I-I'm just awkward around women, o-okay...?" he clinged to the ledge for dear life. "I've never had a decent girlfriend in my life so I don't really know what it meant to be loved..." he said, in a raised and sobbing voice, genuinely speaking this time. "I...I'm sorry... I-I'll go my own way..." he said as he jumped down and ran away, crying.

Fetalia looked at the fleeing and cowering Surge. Suddenly, she felt bad for him; it was some misunderstanding she had. She now felt ashamed and began chasing him.

Surge ran and found a lone tree along the sidewalk and jumped into its branches and climbed up it to hide. Tears started streaming down his face, as his memories of the women he's been with flooded his mind, the things some did to him, the things some made him do, and the pain came back from being with Rouge the Bat, who played him to steal the Chaos Emerald that he still held with him. He continued to cry as he felt his heart disintergrate once more, another woman that acted out in a rage to him, the last notable one being his first, Amy Rose.

His sorrow was short lived when he heard Fetalia shout down to him. "Hey!"

Surge perked up, tears still streaming down his face, even though in the back of his mind he could still be killed, he responded, weepingly, "Y...Y...Y-Yeah...?"

Fetalia looked very sympathetically to him. "Sorry about the misunderstanding...." she said.

"It...It's fine..." Surge said, still somewhat weepingly, though not much for her to know he forgives her, rather for himself to mend his heart for the upteenth time. He wiped his tears on his glove, and breathing expasperating after his depression episode.

"I didn't know you were like that around girls..." she continued.

"I really... don't know how to be around girls..." he replied solemnly, "Either I get screamed at, beat up, used or played..." There was a melancholy tone to his voice now, as if it was something he'd rather forget. "I want love... but I don't know how to get it... because I just keep getting what I just mentioned..."

"Maybe I can help you prepare for getting a girlfriend...." Fetalia suggested.

"Maybe..." Surge replied, "though... the good girls that I do find, are always taken by some other guy... like I might be fast at running, but I'm too slow to get the good girls..."

"Don't tell Shine I did this....cuz then it'd blow my chance of getting with him..." she said as she kissed him right on the lips.

Surge blushed, though his instincts told him to kiss her back, he didn't because he thought it'd be a very bad idea to do at that moment, and stared into her eyes. "O-Okay..." he said, very willing to keep it a secret.

"I love Shine with all my heart." said Fetalia. "If he found out, I'd be devastated...because he would find out I'm a slut...and we'd never be together...."

"Ah..." said Surge in an understanding, yet resigned way, "I see... I hope it all works out, I guess..." He rubbed his head, knowing that the same thing occured yet again, that a good girl already likes some other guy, in this case Shine. Though a friendship was seemingly formed with Fetalia, the damage to Surge's heart had already been done. He did stop crying, but his heart continued to cry, screaming for something that he never had. Being raised by himself and with a well-fated meeting with Sonic the Hedgehog, he never knew what love was. He was beginning to think he may never know what love is.

"C'mon, let's get back." said Fetalia.

Surge nodded. "Okay..." he said. He became uncertain as to if he'd be mentally be able to take on the Antiverse at this point. Though, he did consider that he had friends to help him. Especially Shine, somehow now going over their meeting, he felt different, and actually felt better with Fetalia going along with Shine, than he had about other girls liking other men. As if he knew Shine, or should know him.

Shine was waiting very impatiently for them to return. There was not a second to spare. The world was in danger and they couldn't waste much time!

Surge and Fetalia met back up with Shine shortly after. Surge cleared his throat and said, "Hmm... wonder what can we do..?" Just then, very dark grey clouds seemed to erupt in the distance, which displayed a vast amount of intercloud lightning instantly afterward. "That, doesn't look normal," Surge commented.

"It's begun..." said Fetalia, solumly.

Surge thought for a moment, then noticed an old television in a nearby abandoned building. "Hmm..." he said as he went in the already broken down door, went to the television, wiped the dust of its screen, and turned it so Fetalia and Shine could see it. He shocked it with his electrokinesis. The television turned on to the news. "Special report, today," the anchor reported, "scientists have been studying the recent electromagnetic anomalies that have been occurring all over the globe during the past week, and this is what they have found... The anomalies seem to be following a certain pattern, and the satalites above those areas are temporarely knocked out, overly powerful thunderstorms erupt in these areas, and what's even more disturbing, these anomalies follow the orbit of abandoned Space Colony ARK, we will bring you more details as they come..." Surge stopped shocking it, thus turning off the television.

"Damn!" said Shine. "We gotta hurry!"

Jesse was surprised too. "That ain't good..."

"Got a rocket, Shine?" inquired Surge, sarcastically serious, "Because it seems to me that we gotta go to the ARK, which is in space. From what I heard, they're using a very strong electric current, and it seems that the ARK is part of this, somebody's gotta be up there in control of it to power up the electric charge. I'd love to hurry as much as you do, but I think our fight lies with going to the ARK, I think I can see it as the source, or "battery", of the electric current, and if we cut the power from the source, they're out of business."

"I'm afraid not...." said Shine.

"You're really pathetic, Shine..." said a voice from above.

Shine looked above them, there he saw his long-time rival from the future: Drake the Hedgebat, and his partner, the ancient and lovely Maya the Echidna. "Drake!"

Meanwhile, within the extremely strong thunderstorm, a pylon laid, with an extremely large and powerful bolt of electricity poured into it. Shroud was seen making final rounds. "Looks good," he reported.

"Keep it covered until the station makes final contact. Should take place in about four minutes," Gregor commented, keeping a lookout.

"Roger," Shroud complied.

Unluckily for him, a certain cyborg wolf by the name of Mitchell caught a glimpse of the pylon. He was going to ignore it, but he didn't have anything better to do, so he went in to check it out. He didn't see Shroud or Gregor.

Lurking the shadows was a red and attractive sex demon: a succubus. Her name was Medusa and she was very powerful. With mastery of fire, darkness, ice, and illusions, she was in the mood for sexual actions...and was awaiting the proper victims....

Shroud noticed Mitchell, but didn't know it was him, walking toward the pylon. "Bogie, at your two o'clock!" Shroud reported to Gregor.

"Oh, yeah, I see him," Gregor said. He let Mitchell get closer in to examine the pylon. He wanted to see what he did. Gregor signaled to Shroud. "Prepare to engage..." Mitchell examined it. "On my mark..." Mitchell had been watching the news reports, and he had this thing figured out in no time. He reared back with his cybernetic fist to put a hole through it. "Now."

Shroud reared back an arm and threw a punch, stretching with shadow energy, right at Mitchell's face.

Mitchell didn't see it coming and was knocked to the ground. He would've gotten up to fight back if Gregor hadn't been there to curb-stomp him in the head. Mitchell was out cold.

"What do you want to do with him?" Shroud asked, awaiting further orders.

Gregor was intrigued by the cybernetic implants, and was knelt down to Mitchell when he noticed something. "Hey, check this out," he said pointing to a thin slot just next to his eye. "This looks like an AI slot."

Shroud knelt down on the other side of Mitchell, and noticed the AI slot as well. "Do you think Ari can make something out of this?" he asked.

"He's Ari," Gregor laughed. "What can't he do with technology?"

"True that," Shroud replied, and stretches his shadow arms to wrap them around Mitchell's legs and shoulders, and lifts him up with moderate difficulty. "Let's take him to see the Tech Doc then," he joked.

Gregor checked the time. The station was to align in a matter of seconds. "Alright," he said as the alignment occured, "Load him up."

"Roger," Shroud said as he put Mitchell into the shuttle.

Gregor got on the comms with Ari. "Returning to base, and we're bringing a present for you," he laughed as they took off.

Chapter 4: Reprogrammed[]

Shroud and Gregor entered the bridge about fifteen minutes later, Shroud delivering Mitchell to Ari, "Happy birthday," he laughed, "have fun!"

Ari noticed the different added parts on Mitchell; the cybernetic arm and eye were what he noticed first, followed by the AI slot. "It should take no more than an hour of coding to put this cyborg on our side." Gregor laughed. He was glad Ari was on their side since the beginning -- if he hadn't, all the work they'd done would've been next to impossible.

Shroud laughed also, glad because if Ari wasn't on thier side, everyone's workload, including Blackout's, would have been nearly tripled. He left Mitchell in Ari's care and reported back to Gregor. "Anything else, sir?" he asked, awaiting further instruction.

"We're good for now, Shroud," Gregor said. "Just kick back and relax."

"Alright," Shroud said, deeply relieved to be told to relax. He wasn't able to do that for much of anything due to his job as the "grunt" of the group. He returned to his corner of the storage facility, and relaxed on his air mattress.

Gregor had a priority of his own to complete. He inflated another air mattress, wishing he was doing something else. But, if they were going to have a new team member, he figured he'd best prepare for him.

Shroud quickly fell asleep, getting rest that he desperately needed from the days where he'd barely be able to sleep.

Ari was programming. This was his element. Normally it would've taken someone days to program such a complex AI mechanism, but it only took him an hour. He reported in to Blackout himself over the comms link when he was done.

Typhoon patched in Ari to Blackout. "It's Ari," Typhoon said as he put the comms on speaker. "Yes?" Blackout asked, awaiting Ari's report.

"The pylon alignment was successful, as expected, and we picked up another prisoner," Ari replied, aiming the camera at the unconscious Mitchell. His cyborg parts were easily visible from the camera.

"Another one eh?" Blackout mused, "I see, do as you please, whatever you do I'm certain it'd only bolster our efforts."

"Hold on," Ari said proudly, holdng up a small chip. "This is an artificial intelligence chip, and this," he said, pointing out the AI slot on Mitchell, "is an artificial intelligence slot."

"Hm?" Blackout became interested, "Yes, go on."

"I have programmed our instructions into this chip, and when I put this in his head, it should quite literally overwrite his own will, with ours." Ari smiled a little, proud of his work.

Blackout smiled and said, "Excellent, insert it."

"My pleasure," Ari said, inserting it carefully into the slot. Mitchell woke up as his brain accepted the programmed orders, and he sat up. "I would like you to meet the sixth member of our team," Ari said to Blackout.

Blackout smiled sinisterly as Mitchell awoke with his reprogrammed orders. "Hello," he said to Mitchell, "I am Blackout, I run the show here, state your name."

"Name's Mitchell, sir," he responded, already loyally. Ari couldn't help but smile.

"Good, Mitchell," Blackout said with a sinister joy, "You'll meet your other superiors, Ari being one of them, later. Basically, everyone but Shroud is your superior, Shroud right now is your co-worker. I expect great things from you, as I expect out of everyone under my command. Don't fail me."

"I'll do my best, sir," Mitchell said, and he ment it. Ari smiled, perhaps even more sinisterly than his boss.

"Good," Blackout said, "Ari, allow Mitchell to meet the other members in the ground base, I'll send Typhoon down later."

"Anything else I need to get done for now, sir?" Ari asked.

Blackout thought for a moment, then said, "After Mitchell has met Shroud, send Shroud up."

"Yes sir," Ari said, and terminated the connection. "Come on, Mitchell, it's time to meet the team." Ari introduced Mitchell to Gregor, who was genuinely surprised at Ari's programming working so well, and Gregor went to get Shroud for Ari. "Resting time's over, Shroud, let's get up."

Shoud woke up and stood up, rather alert due to the extra rest he was able to get. "Yes sir?" he asked, awaiting orders.

"Time to meet the new guy," he said, leading the way.

Shroud followed Gregor, quickly assuming that Ari had reprogrammed the cyborg they found earlier.

Mitchell was talking with Ari when Gregor arrived with Shroud. "Ah," Ari said as they approached, "Mitchell, this is Shroud. Shroud, this is Mitchell." Mitchell stuck out his cybernetic right arm for a polite handshake.

Shroud shook Mitchell's hand politely. "Pleased to make your aquaintance," he said politely.

"They're all so sexy...." Medusa mumbled to herself. No one could sense her pressense.

"Nice to meet you too," Mitchell said, almost with a laugh. "Sorry to cut in," Ari said, "but Blackout is expecting Shroud on the ship as soon as introductions are over."

Shroud slowly nodded. It was an unusual order from Blackout. He usually wasn't ever ordered to be sent up to the station. He got on the ship and arrived at the station about twenty minutes later. He quickly reported to Blackout on the bridge. "Ah, there you are, Shroud," he said, "I couldn't ignore the fact that it was you that helped bring in Mitchell. And since we just recruited a new member, I'm switching up the usual placement of things." Shroud was astounded. "Our new member needs careful supervision, as I trust Gregor to provide, so you'll work here mainly until further notice. Understood?" "Crystal clear," Shroud replied. "Sir," Typhoon called for Blackout's attention. "Hm?" Blackout acknowlaged, "What is it?" "I'd like to report that our ETA at the next pylon is about six to seven hours." "I see," Blackout acknowlaged the information, then said to Shroud, "You are dismissed, make yourself comfortable." Shroud nodded and left the room. "How's the detainee doing?" Blackout asked Typhoon, referring to Swoop. "Hasn't even moved, it's actually quite strange. Shroud just walked by the cell just a second ago, so he hadn't to have messed with the camera or anything." "I see," Blackout noted.

Meanwhile, with Surge, Shine, and Fetalia, old aquaintances of Shine and Fetalia arrived. Surge scratched his head at the situation.

"Whaddya want, Drake?!" asked Shine.

"I just wanted to see how pathetic you and your new friends are." said Drake. "I see you've had quite a poor choice in lackeys!"

"Hmph," Surge cut in, "At least he HAS friends, plural. And you're the popular kid on the block? With that attitude, I'd doubt it."

"Hey! Who do you think you are, talking to Drake like that?!" Maya snapped. She was a noticably beautiful girl in ancient tribal clothing. She looked a lot like her mother, Tikal.

"I think I'm a guy who's got his head on his shoulders," Surge smartly replied, "I simply hate mistreatment, and trash talking my friends falls under that catagory."

Maya just went silent and looked down, sadly. Just then, four teens were seen running around. There was a pink dolphin in a hot outfit, a blue/turquoise fox that looked like a wrestler, a blue and nervous bat, and a pink bat that was both cute and sexy.

Surge happened to look over and notice the pink bat. She seemed to be quite attractive to him, like a girl that actually wouldn't think about taking advantage of him, he blushed faintly but attempted to keep his cool composure, while attempting to steal quick glances every now and then.

"Hey! Is something wrong?" asked the pink bat.

Like with Fetalia, he was startled by her and lost a little bit of composure, from his experience with Fetalia just a short time ago, and replied, "Um, nope! I'm fine!"

The pink bat was still more than a little suspicious, but was still kind to him nonetheless. "Well, my name's Brittney." she said.

"I'm Jimmy Canvas..." said the fox.

"My name is Tammy...Tammy Watercolor." said the dolphin.

"I-i-i-i-i-i-I'm R-r-r-r-r-r-Reggie...." said the blue bat, nervously.

"Jesse," said Jesse, calmly, and more than bored.

"Uh, I'm Surge!" said Surge, with a hint of nervousness.

"That's a nice name!" said Brittney.

Surge blushed faintly and said, "Th-Thank you."

"He totally likes you," interrupted Jesse to Brittney.

Surge's words failed him, as he blushed brightly and glared at Jesse.

Brittney was blushing too, but started posing rather cutely and shy-like.

Surge looked back to Brittney, and his face got extremely hot, staring at her posing. He is still speechless.

Jimmy and Tammy were just giggling at Surge's reactions.

Jesse smiled. As fun as ruining Surge's day was, it was more fun when it helped, and that's where it was going.

Surge did not feel the same, he was half-scared that he'd be completely humiliated at any moment, and half-embaressed that his feelings were shown by a proverbial spotlight. He is completely imobilized and speechless by embaressment and fear.

"Hey!" Shine cut his thought off. "Are you guys gonna stand there or are we gonna save the world?!"

"Option B," cut in Jesse. He then whispered to Surge, "You're asking her out later."

Surge froze, almost very scared by what Jesse had told him. He was afraid that he'd get refused or be too late to have such a girl. All he thought was that it meant he's to be humiliated. He started to sweat at this thought.

"Let's go," said Jesse. He was now focused on "saving the world" or whatever it was they were doing, and he was formulating a plan.

"So what do we do?" asked Maya.

Surge was very uncertain now if he could mentally handle a cataclysmic situation. Though he intended to go along with Jesse anyway. He repied to Maya, quite rattled, "Good question..."

"We know they're using the ARK and there are periodic thunderstorms and Surge's electrokinesis is acting up. The way I see it, they must have the ARK set to line up with key portions of the atmosphere with some sort of electric reciever under it, ripping the atmosphere with pure electricity. I propose that we try and beat it to the receivers before it hits them, but we'll have to figure out its orbit to do that. Either that or stop the thing." Jesse's plan was detailed, but difficult. Honestly, he only had these rare strokes of genius when he needed them most.

"So how do we get up there?" asked Fetalia.

"That was my original question," replied Surge, "the ground plan is more accessable but takes more time, but the space plan is less accessable but is the one-shot deal. And from Shine there tapping his foot, I don't think we have time as a luxury."

"We need a ship," Jesse said.

"Yes we do, again like I said originally," Surge said, "where can we get one?"

"How can a ship get us to space?" asked Maya. She was not familiar with highly-advanced technology, being frozen in time for over 4000 years, space ships were not a common thing in her time as they are now.

"Space ship," Surge replied, being unaware of Maya's time, "the thing that rockets into outer space."

"In never knew such a vehicle existed..." said Maya.

"Hang on," he said. "This is easier than it sounds. These guys gotta have people to make sure that their receivers are covered, don't they?" He didn't wait for an answer. "So we tail them from one of their receivers back to their home base, where they'd probably have access to their safer base up above."

Surge thought for a moment, "I see that," he agreed, "though if they know what they're doing, they probably might notice and then capture us... unless if that's what we WANT to happen..."

Jesse got an idea. "You, sir, are a genius."

Chapter 5: The Plot of Salvation[]

The group begins to devise the what and how on their idea on following the enemy onto thier base. It has been established that intentionally being captured was intended to be the end result. Some members of the team--like Reggie and Maya--were nervous and skeptical of this plan, unsure if allowing themselves to be captured was a good idea.

Jesse rubbed where he'd injected himself. "Yup, still stings."

Surge shrugged, he didn't have any better idea to place the tracker that Jesse had injected into himself. He held up the control panel in his hand, the tracker was to respond to Surge's electrokinesis when Surge shocked it. He gave it some juice and it read that Jesse was exactly where he was standing. Surge gave Jesse a thumbs-up. "Workin' like a charm!" he declared.

"Let's do this. You got the station's flight plan yet?" Jesse said.

Surge looked over to the computer he was working on, he had it connect the dots from the anomalies taken from the news, luckily for the team, there were enough points to make a decent estimate. It wasn't an exteremely accurate graph, but it was decent enough. "Got a rough estimate," Surge replied, "It's not super-accurate, but nothing that a little extra sight-seeing can't fix."

"How much time left?" Jesse asked.

Surge checked the points of the 'thunderstorms' along the surface, there wasn't an exact pattern due to geographic barriers, however, he noticed that the time taken took a consistant average. "...I'd say about three to four hours left," Surge replied. He quickly had the program he was using calculate the location where the ARK would be. "35 degrees south, 22 degrees west." he reported the location.

"That's almost a hundred fifty miles from here," Jesse said, disheartened. "We're gonna need some sort of jet to make it there in time."

Surge smiled and stood up. "You forget," he said triumphantly, "I'm the closest we can get to Sonic the Hedgehog. I can probably get us there in half the time or less."

"Right...just make sure you stay far enough away from the receptor." Jesse got up, ready to go.

Surge nodded, and walked outside, ready to go.

"So, you gonna carry me on your back or something?"

"How else without treating you like a girl?" Surge replied humorously.

Jesse literally jump on his back piggyback style to spite him.

Surge buckled at the impact, then laughed. "Alright, time to roll!" he declared as he sped off at high speed, not bothering to grab onto Jesse to spite him.

Jesse was hanging on for dear life. "ENOUGH MESSING AROUND THIS IS SERIOUS!"

Surge laughed, "You started it." with that, he slowed down slightly so he can grab onto Jesse. Then he sped back up and started hitting near-supersonic speed.

Jesse throws up away from Surge. Why did he have to go that fast?!

About an hour and half later, Surge caught sight of a pylon structure, much like the one Swoop came across earlier. He slowed down and stopped about half a mile away near a large boulder.

Jesse immediately fell off him and threw up.

Surge turned to Jesse and patted him on the back. "At least you have time to recover beforehand," he said reassuringly.

Jesse was practically puking his guts out. "D*mn it (puke), too (puke) fast (puke)..."

Surge rubbed Jesse's back. "Well I didn't know it'd be a dirty ride," he said innocently.

"Why can't you just ever do anything right?" he said, flourished with another upchucking of food.

Surge decided to ignore the question and kept rubbing his back, hoping to relax him enough to stop puking.

Eventually. Jesse stopped and put his back up against the boulder. "Agh..." he moaned.

Surge sat next to him and allowed himself to relax against the boulder. "And now we wait..." he said.

They were on a hill overlooking the pylon base. Jesse got another idea. "Hey," he said weakly. "How loose do you think this boulder is?"

Surge looked at the boulder, and instantly got the idea. "I think we could break it loose," he replied.

"I think it'll work," Jesse said weakly.

"I think so too," Surge concurred, "you feel up for it?"

"Let's wait for the bad guys to show..."

An hour later, they showed.

The rocket landed on the opposite side of the pylon from the heavy boulder. Mitchell and Gregor piled out. "Alright Mitchell, here's the deal. You patrol the interior of the pylon grounds, I'll patrol the outside. We make sure nobody gets near it until the station aligns, which should happen in ten minutes. Got it memorized?" "Yeah," said Mitchell. The two of them checked the pylon, then began on their patrol routes. As both of them got close to lining up with each other out front of the pylon, Jesse whispered to Surge. "Do it now."

Surge zapped the base of the boulder, weakening its hold on the ground, then kicked it down the hill. Surge then took Jesse under his arm, and sped around on a wide curve until they were behind the ship and pylon. Surge shocked the lock, allowing them to enter the ship, and took off with it and flew up to the ARK.

Gregor barely managed to dive out of the way as the boulder barreled through the fence outside the pylon. Mitchell, however, didn't get out of the way. He barreled his cybernetic fist right through it, and it shattered like glass. The pylon was untouched.

Jesse was relieved that they got by untouched. "Now we don't have to do that stupid getting captured thing, huh?" he laughed.

Ari was tracking the shuttle on his scopes. Either Gregor and Mitchell were dead or incapacitated, that much he knew. He radioed in to Blackout.

Typhoon reported to Blackout, "Ari's on the line." "On speaker," Blackout commanded, and Typhoon put Ari on speaker. "What is it?" Blackout demanded.

"I've lost radio contact with Mitchell and Gregor, sir, and their ship is coming your way. I don't think it's them on board, sir," Ari said, sounding even a little panicked.

Blackout growled. Something was wrong, and he knew it. He knew exactly what was going on with his team with every order being by him and him alone. When there are deviations, there was a major hole in the proverbial ship. "Get the secondary rocket functional, retrieve Gregor and Mitchell, and get all of your a**es up here, on the double!!" Blackout ordered, in a very angered and hostile roar.

"Yes sir!" Ari exclaimed obediently. He immediately ran off, not even bothering to sever the connection, and he activated the rocket as fast as possible. He got in, and took off straight toward the pylon Mitchell and Gregor were at.

Blackout snarled at Typhoon, "Sever the connection," he ordred in a low growl. Without bothering to reply, Typhoon quickly ended the link. "You're in charge of the bridge," Blackout informed Typhoon and walked briskly to Shroud's quarters and banged on the wall. "Come with me, now," he snarled at Shroud. Shroud followed Blackout without question.

"What happened?" asked Ari as he landed, a few minutes after the station aligned with the pylon. "Two b@stards got the ship while we were protecting the pylon," Gregor yelled as he and Mitchell jumped up into the rocket. It took off, heading straight for the ARK.

Some of the gang, like Maya and Reggie, were starting to get sick from the velocity. Shine, on the other hand, loved the adreneline rush more than anyone. It was amazing!

Jesse was already sick earlier, and he still was. He was puking into a bucket.

Surge patted Jesse's shoulder. "C'mon, I'll take care of the big boys while you find the power supply of that blaster-like thing and take it out. Alright?"

"Okay," he mutters, trying not to throw up again.

Surge nodded in acknowlegement. "I'll see you soon," he said solmenly, as he ran off. Shine, Fetalia, and the teens ran to find the power supply. Drake and Maya, on the otehr hand, were more intent on exploring the station, with Drake believing there is more to be gained from this facility.

Surge ran until he found a wide hallway with a catwalk running parallel and overhead. Surge stopped upon seeing a very familiar hedgehog. To Surge, he looked like a dark reflection of himself. For it was indeed, it was none other than Blackout himself. "So... there is an equivalent of me in this world," said Blackout and introduced himself, "I am Blackout the Hedgehog." Surge was taken aback. "And," he continued, "my father is Scourge the Hedgehog, and Rosy the Rascal. I think here, if my father had told me correctly... that here, they're Sonic the Hedgehog, and Amy Rose... yes, I believe that was it." Surge became wide-eyed, suddenly fearful. "What...?" was the only word he could muster. Blackout laughed, "We took two different paths apparently, you and I, you chose to stick to those so-called 'morals' as it is so apparent, while I took charge of my situation, and now I am anybody's worst nightmare." Surge gritted his teeth and jumped onto the wall opposing of the catwalk, then jumped off the wall and onto the catwalk. "Let's see if what you're saying is true," Surge challenged.

Meanwhile, in front of Jesse, Shine and the others, a shadowy echidna arose from the floor, that being Shroud. "Master Blackout sent me here to protect the power supply, he will not allow idiots like you to impede on his plans," he proclaimed.

"You guys got this?" Jesse whispered. "I get the feeling Surge is gonne need some help."

Shroud looked among the group, as if deciding what to do with them. "Who is the strongest?" he demanded.

"You bet!" shouted Fetalia. Shine and Brittney seemed worried about Surge though.

Shroud pointed to Shine and said, "You, with the fancy markings on your hands, you must be strong. Battle me as a duel, if you win, you and your friends can obviouslly pass, if I win, you all will die. If you refuse, you all will die, if you run away, you will die."

"Wow, that's a lot of options ya got for me...." said Shine, sarcastically.

Jesse went back to try and help Surge, but he got cut off. The ship with Mitchell, Ari, and Gregor in it was docking, and Jesse quickly ducked into a side room. Gregor and Mitchell ran to assist Blackout, but Ari had something else in mind. He disappeared into another side room not far up the hall.

Chapter 6: Duel I, Surge VS Blackout and Shine VS Shroud[]

Surge and Blackout start duking it out with their powerful electrokinesis making a dangerous light show. Blackout had thrown Surge to his other side as they continued to fight. Blackout was pushing Surge back to an area of where there is open space, with several road-like bridges going all along there, with the scene with Shroud quite a bit away but visible. Neither Surge or Blackout cared to notice as the catwalk gave out and both of them landed on the bridge below them.

Back with Shroud, who said in a satrical way, "I hope you're ready." He sunk into the floor, rose up behind Shine and gave him a strong punch in the back, his fist enlarged and arm stretched by his umbrakinesis.

"Well...you're a fan of fair play..." said Shine, once again sarcastically, as he was hit. He didn't hesitate to return the hit with a fast kick to the face.

Shroud took the hit but sunk back into the ground, to rise up to Shine's left and launch an orb of shadow energy at Shine. Meanwhile, Surge and Blackout were still fighting, with Surge barely being able to hold his own. Both of them were trying their best to eliminate the other, but Blackout was starting to best Surge because of fatigue.

Shine knew this wouldn't be easy. Shroud was fighting dirty, and it didn't help that he was only a rookie when it came to cheating. But he couldn't give up, the fate of the future all depended on him. Thinking no more of it, he looked around him, trying to find something to use against him.

Shroud's arm arose and grabbed Shine's leg, and as the rest of Shroud arose, he began to hammer Shine into the floor with his stretched arm acting like a whip. With Surge, he was starting to lose horribly, and he knew it. He knew he took a good chunk out of Blackout but Blackout took an even bigger one out of him. Surge tried another electric attack, as he clasped his hands together and performed something like an overhead smash, Blackout did the same, and after a bit of power lock, they both were sent flying into opposing walls. Surge then got an idea. He had a very insane idea, but he knew that if he didn't do it, he'd lose and probably die. Surge blasted forth with everything he had, instantly getting the same idea, Blackout also burst forth at Surge. However, Blackout thought that Surge would try a 'kamakaze' attack, and prepared to axe kick him. Before he could do so, however, Surge's adrenaline kicked in as he sped up and drove both of his fists into Blackout. Both of their electrokinesis started to surround them, as a huge blast occured, white light eminating from the impact. Electricity started shooting everywhere.

Gregor and Mitchell ran in at that moment. "Boss!" Gregor exclaimed, quickly trying to fomulate a way to help his boss. Mitchell was planning quickly too. But as for Ari...

Ari closed the door to the room he had gone into, and turned around to come face to face with Jesse, who promptly whacked him right in the face. Jesse had noticed in the brief second the door was open that there were test tubes, an MRI machine, and lots of other scientific and medical supplies in there. What had he been doing? Ari took his swing back and missed. "You must be my other in this world," Ari said.

Shine fought hard and managed to faw out. When Shroud tried to grab for him, Shine started levitating above the ground and teasingly dodging his attempts. He used his psychokinesis to lift Shroud out of teh ground and into the walls hard as a rock.

Shroud fell to the ground defeated, as any light-based attacks did much more damage than normal. A strange purple jewel that resembled a Chaos Emerald also fell when Shroud was slammed into the walls. He feebly looked up and croaked, "You... you remind me... of my master... you could probably... use that Athena Amythest... better than I could... my master... wouldn't care about what the... grunt has to say... unless it's a relay... it is extremely powerful..." his head thunked on the floor, unconcious.

Shine began to feel regret as he walked over, took the strange gem, and looked down at his opponent, feeling sorry for the one that tried to kill his own friends.

Meanwhile, electricity was still shooting everywhere, and one of the bolts happened to strike Mitchell right in the head.

"Agh!" exclaimed Mitchell, as not only his arm, but his eye, pieces of his face, and most notably, the card Ari had put in him fried. He fell to the ground disabled. Meanwhile, Ari was gaining an advantage over Jesse with surprisingly smart attacks and moves.

The bright light began to fade, as the figure of only one hedgehog was to be seen on one knee. The hedgehog stood up, his face revealing that it was Blackout. He laughed maniacally and said, "Heheheh... that was a good trick... but unfortunately, it failed..." He surrounded himself with a very strong aura of electricity. "I am now more powerful than ever!" he declared.

Gregor couldn't help but smile. "Boss, I'm glad you're okay."

"Now only someone that has similar blood as Surge can stop me!" Blackout continued, "But who else has Sonic the Hedgehog, or, Amy Rose as relatives at the least? My guess, is nobody!" He laughed maniacally, thinking that he had total victory.

Just then, Shine rushed into the scene, conviniently after Blackout mentioned his mother. "Did someone mention Amy Rose?" he asked.

Blackout turned to Shine, and said rather sinisterly, "Yes... I did." he began charging his newly stronger electrokinesis. "But I'd imagine, that you're just trying to screw with me." He whipped an arm straight at Shine, and blasted him with a very strong shock of electricity. "I doubt Surge is a relative of yours, I really do."

Shine took the hit, but got right back up. "On the contrary, Mr. Black & Blue, Amy Rose is my mom! And my dad is Silver the Hedgehog!" he said, firing a Psychic Knife.

"Hmph," was all Blackout said as he blasted again, stronger this time, breaking through the Psychic Knife which gave way to attacking Shine again. But Shine jumped up and dodged it, and fired some projectiles at Blackout.

Blackout quickly whipped his arm in the direction of the projectiles, sending a few of his own to destory them. "If you are who you say you are," Blackout said, angerly bored and annoyed, "then quit playing around. I could go down there right now, and kill her. Do you want to stop me? You want to save her? Fight me with everything you got!!"

Shine sounded very frustrated. "If you weren't such a cheating overpowered a**hole, I'd beat your *** already!"

"Cheating?" Blackout asked sinisterly, "Overpowered? Not at all, I'm just really strong, unlike you. You're not strong enough to protect your own mother, you're too weak to protect the ones you love! And as such, they all hold you back from becoming strong like me. That's why I rejected such emotions, so that I can exert my power and dominance on everybody and everything. Idiots like you weaken yourselves with bonds such as yours. Only by exerting your power through anger can accomplish anything worthwhile."

"He's right, y'know!" Drake said as he appeared outta nowhere. "Shine....your constant wins over me are nothing more than sheer luck! You have stupid meaningless virtues like friendship, love, and peace to keep you safe! But under all those stupid shields, you're a simple weakling who can't even win against me truly! All those things you believe in only belong to the weak! You are nothing!" It was those speeches that made Shine go nuts! "SHUIT UP!!!!" he screamed as he shot multiple projectiles at them as hard as possible.

Blackout swiftly held back and destroyed the projectiles by blasting them with a strong burst of electricity. "A little testimony, if you will," Blackout continued, "I killed my own family after they abused me. Yes, I killed them myself. My father took shots at my self-esteem and my mother went rabid and daily hammered me into walls and everywhere else. I decided to stand up and take command, not wanting any part of being the victim. I became the victor, and from there I continued with that same anger, the same dominance. And I'm standing here now because of it. Shine, you can't defeat me in your current state, not with that kind of power."

Shien was starting to wear out. there were little options left for him. Then, he took out the crystal he got from Shroud. He could feel immense power emmiting from it.

Blackout laughed, evil dripping from his voice like a drooling dog, "I believe I will prove my point, by quickly killing the one that means the most to you..." he looked at Drake, and said to him, "I believe you know who that person may be, you seem to know him very well." He smirked devilishly, taking the pleasure of angering Shine.

Drake smirked as he turned to see Fetalia running out to them, having already destroyed the power supply. Drake prepared to fire a Chaos Torrent at Fetalia. Then Shine gripped the jewel tight and felt immense energy within him as a bright yellow light appeared around him.

Chapter 7: Duel II, Super Shine VS Blackout[]

Blackout turned to Shine upon sensing a powerful increase in energy. He smirked and said, "A Super form, at last, a challenge! Now it's time to fight!" Powerful electricity envelops Blackout, powering himself up by a ton. He then jumped into a fighting stance, and made a cocky 'come at me' gesture.

Super Shine

Super Shine

Shine was now colored yellow, with a gold aura around him. His clothes were yellow and gold colored, his markings yellow, but his pants were orange, as his eyes were now. He was now Super Shine and stronger than ever.

Drake fired the Chaos Torrent at Fetalia, but Shine appeared before it and caught it with his Psychokinesis. Super Shine smirked and flinged it back at Drake, severly injuring his rival and losing consciousness. Shine turned his attention to Blackout. "You were saying?"

Blackout turned to Super Shine, not surprised or astonished, but rather quite pleased. He laughed, "Finally, now you're worthy of being called a challenge!" He nearly flew at teleportation speed and gave him a very fast electric kick. But Super Shine blocked it and hit him with a hard Psychic Punch.

Blackout fell backwards, landed on the road underneath him but quickly jumped back up to Super Shine and fired several electric bolts at him. Super Shine caught them and fired back at him.

Blackout was taken by surprise, and was blasted back down by his own power, slamming on the floor hard. He grunted, got back up, then tried firing a large blast of electricity at Super Shine. There was no time for him to catch it this time and it hit hard. Super Shine then bounced up and fired a gold sphere at him: "PSYCHIC BLAST!!!"

Blackout tried again to blast another shot of electricity, the sphere was caused to explode but it exploded too close to Blackout and was sent flying about, finally slamming onto the floor again. He got up, but tumbled to one knee. He then got an unruly idea. He began to chuckle sinisterly, "Good... very good..."

"Huh? Why so calm?" Super Shine asked. He could feel that Blackout was up to something nasty...he dared not ask what that was.

"Indeed you are powerful," Blackout acknowlaged Super Shine's power, "but, you are running dangerous ground... because if you kill me, you'd also kill your own brother, because now we inhabit the same body."

Super Shine looked confused. Brother? Sure, he had a few half-sisters, but he had a few half-brothers, but Blackout didn't say which one. And how can they inhabit the same body?

Blackout laughed, "Surge's mother is also Amy Rose," he explained, answering the confusion, "he surprised me with a particle accelleration trick, I'm guessing he thought he could gain control of me. He was wrong, obviously." He started to laugh even louder.

Super Shine gasped in horror, now knowing the truth in all of this. Surge was his half-brother and if he killed Blackout, Surge would also die. This left him in question and doubt. He had to save the world, but to do so would destroy a portion of his family.

Blackout smirked evily, expecting such a reaction. "So, if you were to win this battle, and kill me, you would be no better than me," Blackout continued, "because I killed my own family." He laughed evily. "To save the world, or to save your brother, which will you choose?"

Super Shine thought really hard about this. His mother would be devastated to know that one of her sons was killed. But he had to save the world....but he becamne aggitated when Blackout actually compared him to his own self-rightous self. At last, he made his decision: "I am nothing like you! You killed your own parents without reason, because you're so heartless! I'm doing this for the sake of the future and the world! Nothing you say will change that! I will save this planet....at ANY COST!!!"

Fetalia smiled, blushed, and eveen shed a small tear. "Now that's the Shine I know and love...." she thought to herself.

"Without reason? I had reason," Blackout retorted, "in fact, the reason why I killed them is why I am who I am today. I was abused by the both of them. My father took shots at my self-esteem, and my rabid mother pounded me to and fro with her hammer. I killed them after I've had enough. Heartless? Hearts hold you back, just like bonds." He was unaffected by Shine's speech, but something inside him churned furiously. Blackout glared down suddenly, as if to silence an annoying pest.

Shine looked down and saw Fetalia and Brittney looking on, with the others. Then he turned back to Blackout. "You're wrong! Hearts and positive emotions help you get stronger! That's the thing of having friends: they'll always be with you no matter what and will never turn their backs on you! But you're just too selfish and full of ego to open your eyes and see it! Just like someone else I know..." Drake knew Shine was trying to get under his skin, but he ignored it.

Blackout cringed. It was the first time that he actually did not have a response to such a comment. At the same time, he was still dealing with the churning within himself, which distracted him from making well-versed retorts. A transparent miniature Surge, of which only Shine could see, was struggling to stretch and grow. Blackout glared down again, visably very annoyed by the 'invisible' pest that was irritating him.

It was starting to hit Shine: Surge was starting to fight and separate the link between him and Blackout. And he seemed to be winning too. Shine actually smiled, but this smile wasmn't a cocky one that Fetalia was used to seeing. It was like a different Shine. And Fetalia liked it.

Blackout shook his head in utter irritation. "No!" Blackout openly shouted down at 'himself', "Stay down idiot! I am the dominant one!" But the miniature Surge continued to grow, nearly taking Blackout's place in space, again only Shine being able to see it. While still being transparent, Surge slid behind Blackout and locked his arms. Blackout cried out in annoyance. "No!" Then Surge's voice came out of Blackout's mouth, "Yes," then to Shine, "Shine! Seal him! Use your psychokinesis directly!" Blackout's voice took over in a feral rage, "You idiot! Electrokinetics are natrually immune to that crap!" Surge's voice returned saying, "But my own is now cancelling out yours." Blackout struggled in blind rage.

Not wasting anytime, Super Shine used the most powerful blast of psychokinesis directly at Blackout, hoping to seal him.

Blackout was struck hard, and the transparent Surge disappeared. Blackout flew and hit the edge of a road, and fell to a road below him hard. He landed with a loud, grotesque groan, and seemingly fell limp. Super Shine flew down, hoping that he was done for good without having to kill Surge.

Blackout's colors faded and became replaced with Surge's color. Surge's eyes fluttered open, and looked around, looking terribly weak. Super Shine died down and returned to normal Shine as he looked down to Surge. He picked him up and levitated his way to the infirmary, where Maya was conviniently waiting for them. She began healing Surge immediatly.

While Surge was being healed, he relfected upon what had just transpired. He knew everything that happened, and saw it all through Blackout's eyes. He knew his thoughts, his history, everything. He felt disgusted by his counterpart. He knew that Blackout couldn't be defeated, unless Surge took some insane actions. He couldn't believe that first off that he had actually met his parents and not having realized it, and secondly that he had a half-brother. He began to process the situation while he was still being healed.

Shine's wounds were few and minimal, but Maya still attended to them anyway. Shine wasn't even given a second opinion or anything; Maya just attended to him and was silent.

"Hey, Maya. Why are you helping me anyway?" Shine asked.

"Even though you're Drake's enemy, I can't let anyone be hurt under any circumstance, regardless of they are." said Maya, blushing just a little bit.

Surge sat up slightly. He was exhausted, but was feeling better otherwise. He looked at Shine and studdered, "U-Um... j-just to l-let you k-know... Blackout was right about himself... I know everything about him... f-from the fusion... And to think I've actually met my parents without knowing it..."

"Hey, I didn't even know who my dad was." said Shine. "He was dead just when I was born and my mom died when I was like 10. But....I've fixed that a couple times...but they still keep dying anyway...."

"I didn't know either of them until now..." Surge replied, "I never knew what family meant... you actually had motherly love..."

"Dude, we got lots of half-siblings, it's hard to count!" said Shine.

Surge was taken aback, as he's unfamiliar with the concept of family and now realizing that he's got a larger family than he knew just a few seconds ago. "R-Really?" he sheepishly asked.

"Oh dude! You have no idea how big my family reunions are!" Shine laughed.

Surge looked down, completely overwhelmed by the news. He was trying to process it all. "W-Wow..." was all he could muster to say. Then, a question arose. "W-Well... what came of me then...?" he asked, somewhat rhetorically, "If I came from a huge family like this, how come I was put in a situation that I didn't know about this...?"

"Guess mom didn't want me to know she had dozens of boyfriends to cheat on!" Shine continued to joke.

Surge looked down, while usually he'd laugh along, this was a very serious matter to him. This was visably shown. "What if I said that my father is Sonic?" he asked, in a serious tone.

"Then I'd say you have four half-siblings and one full brother!" said Shine.

Surge's eyes went wide, not only did he have half-siblings but a full brother as well. Though his question wasn't satisfied, in fact, he was even more confused. "I'm still confused," Surge commented, "if I do have a full brother, how come I had no knowledge of this and supposeably he did? It's very strange to me... like it's not a big thing yet I was kept in the dark all my life... I wonder what happened...?"

"Dude, Stanley doesn't even know you're his bro!" said Shine.

"But does he know you're his half-brother?" Surge countered, "I'm sorry if I seem to be grilling you... but this is important to me..."

"Course he does...." he said. "I'm sure he'll like you too!"

Surge sat up straight on the bed. "What I'm trying to get at is..." he said, with an edge in his voice, hinting indignation, "Why was I kept in the dark about the family, and a secret from the rest of the family? Obviously this sort of thing isn't a big issue, but somehow I'm different..."

"That's something I wish I knew the answer to...." said Shine.

"Don't get me wrong," said Surge, "I'm glad to know that I actually have a family and all, but... I just want to know why I lived alone all my life until recently... never knowing about this..."

Brittney was totally silent, staring at Surge this whole time with sympathy.

"Which... had its concequences..." Surge continued, indignation fading into depression, "terrible... terrible concequences..." His eyes began to water, remembering the awful abuse that he had taken. "No one was there... to teach me... Why? Why was I subjected to such cruelty...?" He sobbed and broke out into tears, the revelation helped him, but the mystery that arose only deepened his wounds.

Fetalia and Brittney approached him, and hugged him in an attempt to comfort their new friend. "It's okay..." sdaid Brittney. "We're your friends, Surge. So we're here for you, no matter what!" Shine nodded in agreement, as did Jimmy, Tammy, and Reggie. Maya just smiled, but Drake just walked off in disgust.

Surge attempted to hug Fetalia and Brittney back. He had a weird mix of feelings going on now. He was happy that he had more than what he ever had, which was nothing. But he was also indignant as to why he had to face such cruelty as he had. He felt healed yet broken at the same time, it was a strange mix of emotions.

Brittney smiled and unexpectedly kissed him right on the lips, which surprised everyone.

Surge was probably much more surprised than anyone else in the room. He blushed furiously and kissed her back nervously.

Imagine everyone's surprise when a fist connected with the back of Surge's skull. A rage-induced, immensely powerful fist.

Surge fell forward onto Brittney. He quickly got up in a rage, exhausted still and nearly unconcious but something within himself pushed him to his feet. He blasted a very strong burst of electricity into the hole that was made.

It connected with the assailant, but he was too pissed to care. "Time to die," Gregor said.

"I don't think so," Surge defiantly replied. He didn't know how or why he's so brave, he seemed to have support, something was powering his resolve.

Gregor defiantly cracked his knuckles. "Maybe if you let my boss go I'll let you and your girly little friends live."

Surge defiantly charged his electrokinesis in his hands. "I'm afraid I cannot allow that," he said with edge.

Chapter 8: Duel III, Super Shine and Super Surge vs. Unleashed Gregor[]

Gregor grimaced. He knew he wouldn't be able to save Blackout. At least, not without some professional advice he wasn't. Where in the h#ll had Ari gone? He could easily save Blackout with his help. But he didn't have time to delay until Ari showed. Action had to be taken. Now. His rage was the key to his power, and he was pissed. Visibly to everyone else, his fur glowed a pitch black. He rushed Surge with intense speed and passed him on the right, slashing at his stomach.

Surge quickly side-stepped and gave Gregor a fast electric kick to his face. He knew he needed to defeat Gregor to save the world and himself. His own survival depended on victory and loss now, and expressed it vividly.

Gregor took it, and it made him even more angry. His intense rage powered his attacks. He fought back with multiple quick jabs and kicks to vital areas of Surge's body.

Surge expertly kept his distance from the attacks using his speed, and when he saw an opening, he back-rolled, giving Gregor a kick to his jaw. Surge followed up with desicively shocking him immediately afterward.

He took the hits, and fought back with even faster and heavier physical attacks. Every attack that hit Gregor pissed him off more, and that, in turn, made him more agile, more swift, and more strengthy. He specifically aimed for important areas such as the heart and spinal cord as he swung his claws.

Surge felt the need to become faster and faster to evade Gregor's attacks. He found that this wasn't working at all. He attempted to attack but took a slash to his side. He was flung into a wall extremely hard, but was able to quickly jump over the enraged Gregor. He thought that this was a horrible place to fight such a close-quarters fighter, so he quickly threw an electric projectile at Gregor, and dashed through the hole that Gregor made earlier.

Brittney looked on in horror as Shine transformed back to Super Shine.

Gregor rolled under the projectile and gave chase to Surge. He didn't notice Shine.

Surge was waiting as Gregor furiously chased Surge. Surge started to run backwards down the hall that they came into, and started to shock Gregor.

Gregor dove into a side room when the sparks started flying. He knew the lay of the land, and he knew how to cut off Surge.

Surge stopped when Gregor dove away from his attack. He remained on high alert as he kept his electrokinesis charged in his hands. Shine threw some projectiles at Gregor to distract him.

Surge called out to Shine, "Shine! Is it possible for the both of us to have that yellow form?" He spoke out of intution, he really didn't know what it was, but he somehow knew that it was possible for him to have it as well.

Gregor slammed shut the door to put some room between him and Shine, then snuck silently around through an open door behind Surge. He took aim at Surge's spine and let loose a powerful slash.

Surge was taken by surprise and was flung foward and face down hard onto the floor. He struggled to get up, groaning in pain.

Shine boosted through the door and besides Surge. "Yeah! You can go Super too!" he said. "But ya need a large source of energy to get the job done!"

Gregor simulteaneously curb-stomped Surge in the head and slashed at Shine's chest. Shine could feel the pain and saw some blood dripping through his shirt. This was harder than he thought.

Surge's head pounded against the floor, having a concussion-like effect. He cried out in pain. Brittney ran over to his side, worried.

Surge looked up to see Brittney, looking weak once again. His side and back were bleeding from Gregor's attacks, though Surge still tried to get back up.

Gregor pushed Brittney aside and kicked Surge in the head again, then he focused his next barrage of kicks, punches, and slashes solely on Shine.

Drake started to look on with envy and malice. If there was one person that would rid Shine of this world, it would be him! As Shine slowly started to run out of ring energy, Drake flew down to intervene.

Surge took the hit, and fell once again. He felt now extremely weak. Surge ached all over his body, and coughed up a little blood. He wasn't sure if he'd be able to survive this time.

"Leave him alone!" shouted Brittney as she kicked Gregor. But that was a terrible mistake!

Gregor grabbed Brittney by the throat and slashed her right down the chest. He then threw her onto Shine.

"Brittney!" screamed Shine as he saw the gap was bad and blood over the place. He knew she had no chance at surviving. Brittney the Bat was going to die, in short moments.... "NO!" Surge screamed in horror and anger. He raised his fist and slammed it down on the metal floor. Electricity blasted forth along the ground, proceeding to give Gregor a very bad shocking.

Gregor stumbled back. He stopped his onslaught of attacks for a brief moment of pain.

Surge proceeded to stumble over to Shine. He had no idea how to handle the situation now, as now it seems like both he and Brittney were about to die. He said, again through intuition, "Sh-Share... a-ability..." and fell to his knees.

Gregor struggled to get back to his feet. That one attack, more than any other, had really hurt him.

Darkspine Drake

Darkspine Drake

Shine knew just what he was saying. He turned over to Drake, who nodded and took out the Sol Emeralds. The Emeralds swirled around Drake, Shine, and Drake. Shine returned to his super form, and Surge transformed into super form too, but Drake was given a different form: Darkspine Drake!

Gregor was back on his feet by this point, and he was ready for whatever they were going to throw at him.

Surge, now Super Surge, quickly took Brittney, laid her off to the side, and instictively used "Chaos Regeneration" on her, healing her vicious wound. Once finished, he rejoined Super Shine and Darkspine Drake. "Let's finish this!" Surge declared.

Super Surge-MFDM-

Super Surge!

Gregor was ready for them to fight. "Come on," he spat. "Fight like you've got a pair."

"I'm ready for ya!" chuckled Super Shine.

"Let me show you what true power is all about!" sneered Darkspine Drake.

"Make your move," sneered Gregor.

Super Surge was the first to make his move. "With pleasure!" he shouted with venom, having a large vendetta against Gregor for nearly killing Brittney. He sped around him in random directions, then finally kicking Gregor in the face with a very powerful electric kick.

Gregor, however, saw it coming, and at that exact moment, flipped onto his hands, avoiding the hit, and kicking back right at Surge's unmentionables.

Surge noticed that he missed, and swept his leg back around and kicked away Gregor's leg, following up with throwing electric projectiles at him.

Gregor took the kick, but easily avoided the electric projectiles. He fought back with a rushing stab.

Surge dashed away from the stab, and shocked Gregor from above.

Gregor was hit, and he was hurt. He didn't let it show, though, attacking with a flip kick, aiming at Surge's jaw.

Surge took the hit and was slammed into a wall, but he dashed back forth and slammed his fist on the ground again, and extremely powerful electricity burst forth to Gregor, to give him an intense and powerful shock.

Gregor saw it coming that time, and jumped up into the air with a complementing kick to avoid it.

Surge had a back up plan to this this time, as spun and met him with a powerful electric axe kick, slamming right into his torso.

This brought Gregor to the ground. He never had a chance.

Surge saw this as an opportunity to really bring in the pain. He zoomed down to him at high speed, driving his fists into Gregor, and shocked him ferociously. He kicked him in the face then to get himself back in the air.

Gregor was down for the count. Or he would've been, if not for a slight interruption. A door at the end of the hall busted open and out flew Ari. Jesse ran out after him as Ari hit the ground. Ari had managed to get his hands on a revolver. He got up and squeezed off two rounds at Jesse, one hitting him right in the shoulder, the other missing, before Jesse grabbed his arm. Ari fired twice more as Jesse brought his knee into Ari's elbow, breaking it outright. Jesse stole the gun, and leveled it off with Ari's head. "Wait!" Ari begged, but Jesse pulled the trigger anyway. Ari was dead before he hit the floor.

Surge quickly turned to Jesse in astonishment. "Jesse!" he cried.

"That wasn't murder," Jesse said, emotionlessly. "That was suicide."

Surge couldn't help but smile. He got the idea of what it was supposed to mean.

"What are you talking about?!" asked Drake.

Surge answered solemnly, "He killed his own counterpart, so technically he killed himself without dying. Yet died. Very strange to wrap your head around."

Gregor, needless to say, was even more pissed at this spectacle. He unleashed his true power, first releasing a surprisingly powerful shockwave in every direction. It hit Shine, Drake, Jesse, Fetalia, and Maya hard and sent them flying.

Surge quickly dashed behind them and threw up an electrostatic barrier, to cushion them from hitting anything. "Looks like the fight's only begun," he pointed out.

Gregor stood up. Now there was no chance of saving Blackout. He stayed put, waiting for them to make a move.

Drake was pretty ticked. No one dares hurt him or Maya and lives to tell the tale! He quickly got up and unleashed a ball of fire towards him: "CHAOS....BURN!!!!"

Gregor calmly swept his hand in front of him, bringing up a shield of pure darkness to block the fire, which it easily did. He then came out of it with a slash at Drake, and at the last second, his claws enveloped in darkness. Drake did his best to block it. Gregor followed it up by coming back around with the other claw, enveloping it in darkness too.

Surge reacted quickly by flying over to the side and strongly shocking Gregor. He followed it up by firing many electric projectiles.

Drake growled as he knew he couldn't block this one. He retaliated, though, with a dark bolt of lightning towards him.

Gregor quickly threw up his darkness shields to block the electric projectiles. Maya decided to help out, sneaking behind him and firing a bolt of lightning at him. However, Gregor managed to pull the shield up behind him before it hit, catching Maya off-guard. Gregor promptly threw the shield at her with immense power.

Maya was thrown into the wall hard, knocked unconscious. This only infuriated Drake more as he fired dark spheres at Gregor.

Gregor tossed the pieces of his shield at the people they were blocking, then dove at Drake with another darkness-powered slash. Drake fell to one knee, more enraged. "CHAOS LIGHTNING!!!!"

Gregor was hit but didn't let the pain show through, instead opting to wail on Drake with as many dark punches and slashes as possible. Drake began to absorb the dark energy in those punches and slashes, smirking with evil intent.

Gregor realized what Drake was doing. If he can absorb the dark energy... Gregor grabbed him by the chest with the intent of sucking the energy back out of him. Shine quickly acted and Psychic-Punched Gregor with ease and quickness. Surge followed it up by shocking Gregor from behind.

Gregor wasn't anywhere near down: in fact, although he knew the attacks may eventually kill him, they only fueled his power and fury. He started to steal the dark essence that Drake had absorbed back from him. Drake didn't stop absorbing all the dark energy though.

Suddenly, Gregor swiftly turned his hand and extended his claws right into Drake's chest, then went to continue absorbing the energy immediately after. Maya finally awaoke and gasped in horror as Drake powered down and closed his eyes, now totally dead. "DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKKE!!!!!!!!!!"

Gregor dropped Drake to the ground after stealing all his energy, then turned around to eveyone else. "Who's next?" he snarled.

Maya started to mourn over Drake's dead body. Even Shine felt sorrow for his own rival. Surge on the other hand, who didn't know any of them for too long, didn't share the same feelings. He was more angry because Gregor didn't make any second thoughts when it came to killing. He detested such a demeanor. "Shine," he said with an edge, "I think playtime is over, what do you think?"

Shine looked determined and ticked off. "Drake may have been an ***hole....but he didn't deserve to die! Not like that!"

Gregor didn't have any qualms. He charged up his darkness for the next part of his fight.

Surge charged up his electrokinesis, "Nobody deserves to die," Surge said solemnly yet angerly. He looked at Shine and nodded.

Angel Maya

Angel Maya

Maya looked to them, then to Drake, still crying. She closed her eyes and stopped ehr tears. She opened them and her looks of grieving and sadness were replaced with anger and vengeance. She stood up, used the emeralds' powers, and turned to Angel Maya.

Gregor opened up his attack as soon as she was done transforming, throwing barrages of darkness at the Shine, Maya, and Surge. But Maya was able to deflect them back with a larger light shield. Gregor absorbed them back easily. He suddenly got an idea, and focused his attention, but not on the enemies. Every light on the ARK went out, and since Gregor had pure black fur at this point from his use of the darkness, nobody could see him.

Maya had immense mastery of light, and was able to make herself a living power generator, turning the lights back on, but not the power. She could now get him easily. Or she should have been able to, if he hadn't vanished completely. Maya disappearaed too, searching for Gregor.

Gregor had entered snuck his way to the security room in the lack of light, and he was watching Shine and Surge on the cameras. Perfect. He focused on the power he'd purposely left behind and a shield formed around them in every direction, essentially trapping them.

"Dammit!" cussed Shine. But Surge was more composed about the situation, and quickly found a solution. "Shine, I think we should try a combination attack," he suggested.

"Good idea!" said Shine. "Let's do it!"

Surge immediately began with rolling into a ball, charging up his electrokinesis by quite a lot. So much that electricity formed a powerful sphere around himself. Shine did the same exact thing and the two freed themselves.

Chapter 9: Final Duel, Angel Maya VS Unleashed Gregor[]

Gregor knew what he had to do next. He picked up his radio and called Typhoon on a private channel. Typhoon picked up on the other line. "What do you need, boss?" Typhoon asked, ready to take orders from his new leader.

"I'm sure you know about Blackout and Ari," Gregor said a tad sadly. "I want payback. Find out if Shroud is still alive, and get yourselves off this ship. Use both of the docked ships, I don't want anyone else leaving. You understand me?"

Maya broke throw the door, as angry as Drake. "You will pay for what you did to Drake!!" she screamed, shooting a Light Spear at him.

Typhoon nodded, "Yes sir, right away!" he complied, severed the connection and performed his task, taking the unconcious Shroud and both of the ships and left the ARK.

Gregor narrowly dodged the spear, and came back with a slicing darkness attack of his own. Maya dodged it and fired stronger light spears. Although he managed to dodge these too, they smashed into the main security computer, blowing it up behind him and hurling him right into her. Maya then unsheathed a sword and drove it right into his chest with ferocious velocity. Gregor lost his concentration just long enough for Shine and Surge to be let out of their mini-prison. He tried to counter her weakly with a stab. He only got her arm, and Maya kept slashing at him, uncontrollably. She just wanted him to die for killing the one person that meant so much to her. That's all that mattered now...

Gregor fell back against the wall, all but defeated. He somehow managed to put up a weak shield around him and managed to say, "You will die with me..." He shot a single pulse out from his shield, not at Maya, but at the window behind her. The hallway sealed from everything else as it shattered, the lights died, and the hallway decompressed. Using the miniscule power he could muster, he held himself in with his shield.

All the oxygen was rapidly being sucked out as Gregor barely held himself in place. His shield reduced to around his head, making an effective air bubble, and he held on for dear life. Maya was struggling to hold on, but she was getting absorbed out into the blackness of space. Suddenly something caught her a couple miles outside the colony.

"Sup, May?"

Maya opened her eyes and looked up. She saw a purple and ewhite hedgehog with wings, red eyes and covered in a dark aura surrounding him. Maya shook her head in disbelief. "Drake...?"

Gregor didn't see this. All that mattered to him was staying alive. He put up a barrier across the wall, opened up one of the doors with an emergency override, and fell through it. It automatically closed behind him. His barriers faded; he was defeated.

Surge flew up to the shattered window, and whispered to Maya, "Your friend there wouldn't admit this, but I had the heart to save him. Nobody deserves to die, not even someone like him." He winked at her, then flew out a bit. "Guess now it's time to get ourselves outta here!" He zoomed away, to work on getting everyone off the ARK. Drake and Maya followed him, with Maya holding onto her lover tight.

Chapter 10: Epilogue[]

Surge flew up to Shine and the others, who were waiting to be able to leave the ARK. "Any idea on how to get off this thing?" he asked Shine.

"I can carry ya all with my psychokinesis!" Shine suggested. Surge didn't seem so impressed. "What about this thing called vacuum between us and Mobius?" he asked.

Jesse'd been shot by Ari before, and it was definitely taken its toll. He was propped up against a wall, and dizzy from blood loss. Surge noticed Jesse, and not waiting for Shine's answer had flown over to Jesse and healed him with his Chaos Regeneration.

"Will he be alright?" asked Tammy. "He should be fine now," Surge replied, then turned his attention back to Shine. "There must be some form of escape pod system," he reasoned, "Let's see if we can find it. And fast, our Super forms might not last for too much longer." Just then, a familiar orange hedgehog hobbled up to them. He shook himself to shake off the last of the restraints that were on him.

"Swoop!" Surge exclaimed, "I was wondering what happened!" Swoop didn't seem impressed. "Yeah, under the threat of being killed you're not yourself for a while!" he said angerly. "Ooh," Surge said, startled, "Sorry."

Jesse laughed, obviously forced. "We can have time for reconciliation later..."

Surge nodded in agreement, but Swoop wasn't so happy. "So this is what Big Sis meant..." he said softly, only Jesse would be able to hear it.

"Huh?" Jesse asked. Swoop shook his head and turned away. "Now I see why she didn't want me to be this crazy..." he said with meloncholy, "she didn't want crap like this to happen..."

"Ain't that the truth," laughed Jesse. But Swoop wasn't amused at all by his humor. He broke out violently at him, "Let's see if you're laughing after finally figuring out what your older sibling was trying to do for you, when you aren't able to see them for the past four years!" He ran off in a rage.

"...I hope that wasn't supposed to mean what I think it did..." Jesse said sadly.

"I hope so too," Surge said, "he NEVER gets angry, his sister and him must've been really close..."

Jesse called after Swoop. "I-- I'm sorry, man..." Swoop didn't seem impressed. "Really? Sarcastic as usual I assume," he said dismissively, and flew off up to a different room. Surge looked on in disapproval. "C'mon, let's find a way out of here," he said, as he flew off after Swoop.

Jesse got to his feet and jumped up after them.

Swoop spotted Mitchell's body as he flew. He landed next to him, and looked as if he was making a decision. "Well... Big Sis would want to take him... so I will," Swoop reasoned, and picked up his body, and flew. Later, the group had successfully returned to Mobius, and they were just about to say thier goodbyes before they separated until their next adventure. Surge, now in his normal form, but his yellow eyes had changed to green upon returning to normal, seemed nervous, stealing glances at Brittney. "Well... Jesse did say that I should..." he said to himself.

"Shine, now that disaster has been prevented, our future should be a happy one!" said Fetalia.

"You're right!" said Shine. "So let's go home!"

Surge, seemingly torn, looked between Shine and Brittney. He seemed to be having great difficulty making a decision, and time was slipping from him to make it very quickly.

Jesse whispered to Surge, "Ask Brittney out and take her with Shine, moron."

Surge didn't seem satisfied, "Guess you kinda figured out what I want to do, huh buddy?" he whispered back, somewhat containing panic.

"Something wrong?" asked Brittney.

"Surge is being a wussy," Jesse said confidently to Brittney, "so I'm just gonna say it. He wants to ask you out and go with Shine, so he wants to know if you're willing to go with them on a date." Surge blushed, and seemed awfully worried. Though, despite that he nodded, to confirm what Jesse said as truth. Jesse walked up to Brittney and clapped his hand down on her shoulder. "Don't let him down." With a smirk, Jesse walked off, and didn't look back.

Brittney was blushing a lot and looked at Jimmy, Tammy, and Reggie. She wanted Surge to be added to her long list of boyfriends, but she didn't want to leave her friends either. This was difficult for her to choose....

Surge looked at Brittney shyly, then said, "Most of what he said is true... though the reason why I want to go to the future with Shine... is to find out why I lived the past that I did... because it's apparent that I come from a very large family of half-brothers... so I want to know why I'm so different... if you'd be willing to come with me... I'd appriciate it, because I think I'd go out on my own sometimes, it might get lonely..."

Brittney looked deep into Surge's eyes. She wanted to go with him, but wasn't sure if she'd wanna leave her friends to do it.

"I'm leaving my friends here, for this too... Jesse, Siegfried, Swoop... but I know that they got my back, and would understand why I want to do this..." Surge continued, "I do intend on returning after my questions are answered... when will that be I don't know... but I do know that going back with Shine will be the way that I can start..."

"The choice is yours, Brittney." said Maya. Surge looked into her eyes as well, heart pounding, waiting for her choice. After a long silence, Brittney kissed him with great passion. "Take me with you, Surge..." she said. Surge smiled widely, and said, "Thank you." He kissed her back with passion as well, then turned to call out for Shine. "Hey! Shine!"

Fetalia nodded as she created a dark portal for the group to go through. Drake and Maya were the first to go through. Brittney turned back to say her final good-byes to her friends. Surge waited patiently for Brittney, his hand resting on her shoulder. After Brittney was done, Shine and Fetalia raced through the portal. Surge quickly picked Brittney up, and jumped through the portal with her, just before the portal closed. Jimmy helped comfort Tammy as Reggie looked sadly at where their friend just was. They would miss her, but they would never forget her!

Meanwhile, deep in space the two ships that were jettisonned, contained Gregor, Typhoon and Shroud. All distraught with what had just transpired. "I'm not concerned with the whole destroying the world thing anymore," Gregor said, nursing his wounds from the battle. "I am concerned with making their lives a living hell. Think just us three can do that?"

Typhoon smirked sinisterly, remembering the counterpart that they had captured. "Oh yes, boss, whatever your plans are now," he said evily. Shroud curtly nodded. "Let's get to work," Gregor laughed.
