The roleplay this character is based on is awaiting a revival, so information may change based on that.

"I know I'm to blame for our world being plunged into chaos, but I hope you can at least find it in your hearts to forgive me. I've taken everything away from you, but please give me a chance to get it all back."
Reens

Overview[]

After becoming the catalyst that ruined the world, Reens has been humbled and broken. By picking up the pieces of her life and the lives of her friends and allies, perhaps she can make everything right again. If she can find the courage to do so, nothing will be impossible.

Appearance[]

She is of average height for a Mobian, standing at 3 feet and seven inches. Reens has yellow eyes, lightly tanned skin, blue fur, and short, slightly darker blue hair with white streaks around the edges. Her robotic left arm is made of mismatched pieces of scrap and is partially held together with duct tape. She wears a black, sleeveless vest over a gray shirt, violet pants, and black shoes with white soles. Around her neck is a necklace with a golden heart pendant, and on her right wrist is a golden bracelet.

Personality[]

After the events that caused the Gifted to go into hiding, Reens' personality has shifted slightly from before. While she is still kind and generous, she is hesitant to fight against threats without confirmation from those around her. She is trying to rectify the mistakes of her past, and this causes her to be fearful of making more mistakes. She was placed on the council slightly against her better judgment, and as part of a group of leaders, she relies on the other members for support.

History[]

Reens' parents disappeared when she was young, and she hasn't been able to find them since their disappearance. She was young when instances of her powers developing started to show, and she tried to hide them from everyone around her as she didn't know how they would react.

She would be intercepted by Kabletech operatives who wanted to interrogate her. As Reens' fear grew, her powers fully manifested. She ended up nearly killing one of the operatives by squeezing his throat and absorbing the liquid from his body. The other operatives quickly subdued her before transferring her to an undisclosed location.

Other people with powers, known as 'Gifted', were held at the facility. Reens was tortured for information about the whereabouts of fellow Gifted, with no food or water given if she didn't comply.

After a while, a fellow captive named Natalie Walker aided in the escape of Reens and other captured Gifted. While Natalie helped free her friends and the other Gifted, Reens explored the facility to see if she could help others. She eventually found a powerful hedgehog named Xavier, who was being used for his immense power. Freeing him, Reens, Xavier, and a group of about 100 Gifted fled to a nearby forested area.

Jakob, the new leader, split the group into five to find shelter and supplies. While they explored, Reens, Xavier, and their group ran across a dragon called Servine, who, though reluctant, led them to what was supposed to be a secluded valley.

When they returned, Jakob sent them out again to explore the valley further, along with Kris and Kelsie (twin flying squirrels), Carmine (a fox), Elizabeth (an owl), Maia, and Cinder. Carmine blamed Reens for their situation, and Reens accepted the blame as they explored the valley.

All was not well in the valley: when Reens and Maia decided to help Cinder and Elizabeth build shelters, Kabletech soldiers arrived. Maia and the others fled behind an obsidian wall Carmine had created, but Reens was too frightened to follow. Before a sniper could kill her, an electrokinetic male cat emerged from the trees and took out all the soldiers. His name was Static, and he had been escaping from Kabletech.

With Static in tow, the group returned to tell Jakob about the valley. Angered, Jakob blamed Reens for the Kabletech attacks, which spurned a duel between him and Static. Carmine aided Static in fighting Jakob reluctantly, but before Static could finish him off, Reens stepped in and repeated the move she had used on the Kabletech operative years before.

Embarrassed and ashamed, Reens ran from the group, with Xavier and Static going after her and convincing her to return. Reens listened to Carmine, apologizing to everyone about what she had done and asking for forgiveness. Later, a council was suggested to replace Jakob as leader. Xavier and Carmine were elected, with Reens being surprised at her inclusion. Before a fourth person could be elected, sightings of a wyvern alerted the camp. The small group split between saving the captured Mobian and protecting the rest of the camp.

Powers and Abilities[]

Hydrokinesis[]

Reens can control water in all forms, including solid, liquid, and gas. She also can control other liquids besides water, such as juices or sodas. This power did not come with her golden heart abilities; she discovered it at the age of seven. Unfortunately, she cannot use any cryokinetic abilities despite ice being made from water. (See her special attacks page for a full list of her hydrokinetic abilities.)

Golden Heart[]

Most of Reens' powers are derived from the golden heart jewel embedded in her chest. It connects to the necklace she wears, and her necklace glows whenever she uses said powers. She can still use her powers without her necklace, but it takes her longer to concentrate on them. The necklace acts as a focus point. She had these powers from a young age but didn't discover them until around the age of five.

Normal Abilities[]

Running[]

Reens is a moderately fast runner. Her speed comes to about 120 mph depending on the terrain. She runs best in grassy and sandy areas, while snowy and damp areas can slow her down. Her shoes have rubber soles that help grip whatever surface she is running on and protect her from electricity on the ground.

Strength and Agility[]

Her heart jewel also grants her enhanced strength and agility. She can lift heavy objects about 30 lbs heavier than she is and can do some agile stunts, such as parkour.

Special Abilities[]

Super Form(s)[]

Heartbeat Reens[]

When Reens regularly turns super, she becomes canary yellow with crimson eyes. Her heart necklace becomes silver in this form. Additionally, her robotic arm is upgraded and can transform into any weapon that she needs, such as a javelin, sword, or ax. Her usual plasma cannon is also upgraded.

Nega Reens[]

Unfortunately, this can also have a negative effect. When Reens' negative emotions (depression, anger, fear, or grief) take over, they turn her seafoam green with grey eyes. Her heart necklace is pitch-black in this form.

Additionally, her speed and strength are multiplied while her moral judgment is severely impaired. She will attack anyone she sees as a threat, regardless of being a friend or foe. She also gains the ability to drain the liquid out of her opponents, an ability she has only used once.

Drawbacks[]

Since Reens does not regularly use the Chaos Emeralds for transformation (as stated in Trivia), she has to count on her heart energy/life force. If she uses it for an extended period, she will become exhausted and revert. It usually takes a few minutes to a few hours for her life force to replenish. She can still fight in her weakened state, but not very well or for long.

Skills[]

Science[]

Reens' father taught her regular subjects when she was young. Reens' favorite appeared to be science. Her father let her perform little experiments in their backyard, which involved studying animals and plant life. Her mother taught her how to make medicine from these plants and which plants to avoid. Since her parents’ deaths, Reens dropped these classes as well.

Mechanics[]

Though not a genius, Reens can do some mechanical things like making a semi-functional robotic arm out of scrap metal and duct tape. Her skills are nowhere near more skilled people like a techno-kinetic.

Weaknesses[]

Hydrokinesis[]

Though this power is one of her greatest, it is also one of her greatest weaknesses. It takes almost all of her physical energy for Reens to control the liquids, and if she loses her focus, it could lead to catastrophe, such as a large tidal wave. It is also linked to her emotions: calm waters indicate she is happy while churning waters indicate anger or sadness.

Golden Heart[]

Again, though one of Reens' greatest powers, it is also one of her greatest weaknesses. Reens' heart jewel is essentially the replacement for her flesh heart, and if it were to be removed or damaged, Reens would either die or become increasingly unstable/insane. Her heart also keeps her powers in check, and its destruction could send them spiraling out of control.

Dyslexia[]

Considered a minor weakness, Reens is unable to read without the letters changing around and 'floating' across the page. Her father tried to help her by making her read constantly, but she still has trouble every once in a while. She will occasionally use thick-rimmed glasses to correct this.

Robotic Arm[]

Her robotic arm is unable to be used for many functions, as she built it from a mismatch of various parts. If it takes too many hits, it will fall apart and Reens will have to repair it. A techno-kinetic friend of hers has offered to fix Reens' arm for her, so this problem may be resolved.

Theme[]

Trivia[]

  • Reens' real name is Rain Selena Maricina.
  • She has allergic reactions to hay, Mobini cats, cut grass, and red food coloring.
  • She can turn super without the use of Chaos Emeralds. She has faint knowledge of what they are but decides not to use them.
