Sally is a chipmunk.

Appearance

Originally, Sally was a pink chipmunk with dark brown (often confused as black) hair in a ponytail and cream colored markings. She wore blue boots with white highlights. However, this design eventually changed. Sally's hair and fur were changed to brown and auburn, she was given cheek tufts, the ponytail was scrapped, and her boots no longer had highlights. In season two of the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon, her design was further tweaked. Sally now had pupils and wore an open blue vest which matched the color of her boots.

Simce the Genesis Wave occurred in the comics, Sally had red hair that connected to the stripe going down her back and ended on her tail. Her face had a lighter brown patch in which her large blue eyes were settled. Her clothes consisted of black shorts with white rimming, dark blue boots with white outlines on the buckles, and white gloves with blue power bracelets that produced energy blades. She wore a closed blue vest with a black crop-top hidden underneath. Her tan-colored underbelly could be seen in her midriff.
