— Taunting Tundra Smith before she smacks him, Menace of Metal
Mars the Lycanroc is a character appearing in The Legend of Fox the Brave. He is a rude, arrogant, antagonistic Midday Lycanroc formerly apart of the Angel Island Pack of Lycanroc before he and his mate Indigo turned on them in favor of following Finitevus when Scourge, Fiona, and Lycus ditched them during the Rise of Darkness.
Mars is a Midday Lycanroc, and thus resembles a non-anthropomorphic wolf with short tan fur, a white tail, mane, face, and paws, four brown rock-spikes in his mane, blue eyes, and a brown nose, claws, and ear-tips.
Mars is rude, arrogant, self-centered and overall a nasty person. Shown to enjoy power and constantly working to seek it out, Mars cares little for those who oppose him, eagerly helping Lycus the Lycanroc kidnap Lucky Smith at the end of Resistance Rising after the Battle for Wolfhart. Despite having two sons, Spire and Flint, Mars doesn't care for them, since he states in Rise of Darkness that they're just as soft as the rest of the warriors. Even when faced with a whole crowd of Resistance warriors, Mars maintains his scornful attitude, tauntingly saying that it won't be long for them all to fall when Wilder angrily snarls that his brother Barry died(having succumbed to a head injury from the Battle). Like Indigo, Mars does not believe in the Dusk Lycanroc's power of foresight, though it wasn't confirmed if he mocked Crystal like Indigo did.
Though never mentioned in the series, Mars was a member of a Sun Pack(a Pack of Midday Lycanroc) in Alola, but when a Dusk Form named Hooper wanted to lead some Lycanroc away to form a new Pack in the Four Worlds, Mars went along, feeling bored where he was. He would soon become mates with an equally scornful Shiny Dusk Lycanroc named Indigo, and the two would have two sons, Spire and Flint. Moons later, during the Rise of Darkness, when Scourge, Fiona, and Lycus-having been forced to help with the event-left the warriors after they were forced from their home, Mars and Indigo followed, being shown not to care about their own sons. They later helped in the Fall of the Worlds and Mars fought in the Battle for Wolfhart in Resistance Rising. Later, in Menace of Metal, Mars was caught snooping around outside Wolfhart City, where he was pinned down by Wilder and a jackal named Thundertail, and after smacking him in the face, Tundra got him to reveal where Lucky had been held prior to escaping. He was then held prisoner by the Resistance.
Mars' moveset is currently unknown.
Though never revealed in-story, Mars' Ability was confirmed to be Sand Rush
Being a Rock-Type, Mars is weak to Water, Ground, Fighting, and Steel-Type Pokemon
Mars is the name of the Roman god of war(their equivalent to the Greek god Ares), after which the planet Mars was named.
To date, Mars is the only antagonistic Midday Lycanroc. All other known Lycanroc antagonists(besides Indigo) are Midnight Forms
