Childhood[]

Early life[]

Kester had a complicated birth story.

Kester's parents, Maia and Keyn, were both at the age of sixteen when they gave birth to him. He was expected to be a girl that they were going to name Kaelani. However when he was born, they found out it was infact a boy, in which they bought all girl baby shower gifts, which everyone felt bad for. The doctor told the couple that "there was a difficulty in the testing". If that wasn't bad enough, he was expected to be born on March 4, but he happened to come on February 29;the absolute worst timing of birth, The Leap Year.

Kester had to live with his mother in secret, now having to nourish her own child at such a young age;not even out of high school yet. She successfully kept this up for months, until they found out. She told them that she was watching over her friend's baby brother and they even believed her, but they then put the baby in an orphanage.

Life at the Orphanage[]

Now considered an orphan, he was sent to Freshsnow Orphanage for four years. He learned many things on his own at the orphanage, like basic reading and writing, building and even his own special power;levitation. He grew a love-hate relationship with the owner, as he loved her and she hated him.

When he was around 5 normal years old, the owner of the orphanage died, so they hired a new, very lazy one. However, he despised her because of her carelessness and cruelty, so he decided to run away from the orphanage, but ultimately failed, as he couldn't take the freezing cold. The orphanage owner didn't manage to catch him, until two weeks later, where he sat alone in the bakery section of the town's supermarket stealing food for a living.

Much to his pleasure, a couple conveniently walked in and wanted to adopt Kester because of his levitation, which they thought was highly rare and unique for an echidna to learn. They're names were Myla and Ricki, both echidnas as well, with one son;Cole. They brought him home for a high price, and then headed back home to Mariala City to celebrate a new addition to their family.

Very Lonely Life[]

Since Kester moved in, he's been seen by Cole's friends as his nerdy little brother. He liked to collect chewed up gum, often sneezed into his hand, and was just plain unsanitary. Kester never had play dates, usually sat by himself during lunch and didn't like to come out of his room very often. People tried to talk to him, but he just gave off this weird vibe that made them run away from him.

One day Kester got very upset at the fact that he has no friends to play with. He gets made fun of in school, by Cole, and he got tired of it. Kester one day stormed home, and locked the door of his room to cry his sorrows away. His foster parents obviously tried numerous times to check up on him, but he refused to come out of his room.

Five days past and Kester is still very miserable in his room, so they commission a group of robotics students from the MCA to make a robot to keep him company and make him feel happy, and fast. Being rushed, the model looked unpleasing, but when they showed it to Kester, he was so happy. He decided to call it C.U.D.D.L.E.B.O.T, and that became his personal go to friend whenever he needed it.

Starting Small[]

Ever since starting school, now more sanitary, Kester was oddly smart, getting great remarks from his teachers. He got compliments on acing every assessment, with having one perfect report card for two out of the four marking periods. He was even the reason why they added an accelerated program at their school for smart students to learn classes in the grade level above them.

Kester's adoptive father at the time was a car repairman and mechanic. Kester would always visit him during his work and look at what he does and sometimes help out. So Kester asked his father to help him open up a bicycle repairing business around his school. He told his father that he can watch him fix up the bikes so he can learn how to do it himself. The business was ultimately a success as they made a fortune of money to save up.

When Kester turned nine normal years, it was at that time where his father let him run the business by himself because he taught him everything he knows. Kester charged people $35 dollars for each bike repair, plus an additional $10 dollars to clean, adjust and polish the bike. Business was booming, and so was his wallet. To praise his success, Kester's parents set up.

From Mechanics to Inventing[]

In the fourth grade, Kester was still getting asked to fix and repair bikes, now raising over 125,000 dollars. However, he wanted to expand his horizons to bigger and better things. So he put the bike business on hold for something huge. This took him a long time to make and figure out how to make it work. He had to think of the pros and the cons of this, but within months, he had completed it;he made the Saturday Do-Over Machine.

All it was a box with a giant red button, that whenever you press it, you will go back in time to the Saturday of the week you are in. He brought it in to school for people to show it, but he explained to them about a time lapse if they continue doing it, so he limited the machine to only allow the person to go back once a week. His idea was fantastic, and he started to become popular around the school.

Even the high school saw this and allowed him to take High School Robotics next year in hopes that he can make more outstanding contraptions like those. So he started working on several large projects, with the first being a time machine, which nobody thought he could pull off making, but he believed in himself and started getting right to work on that.

Kester's parents, with the saved up money, bought Kester a workshop around nine blocks from their house. This is where Kester would work on his projects, robots and machinery, and even repair bikes.

To Join the Cool Kids[]

Being the brother of Cole, he saw his group of friends as his inspiration. His friends thought of him as a mega nerd too, which he didn't mind because they all hung out at his place. However, one day Cole told him if he makes them new skateboard decks whenever they need it, he'll let Kester hang out with his clique. He really liked this idea, since making decks and skateboards were extremely simple anyway and it'd be an easy way to become popular.

Over the next couple of months his friends started to really like Kester as their go-to repairman and deck maker, and a pretty loyal friend too. In fact, David even taught Kester how to skateboard, which he ultimately became a decent learner. He was scared to go on the half pipe, because he fell every time but he liked skating on the ground.
