One of the many pistols created in the aftermath of the Col'nesian War, the K-10 was designed to assist special operations troops with an innately stealthy sidearm in case a mission went south. Early tests raised questions about whether the ultra-compact nature of the weapon was going to be a detriment rather than an asset, as the highly reliable K-47 was barely larger and the same weight as the prototype K-10s. However, early combat tests showed that despite a minor loss of range, and the slightly smaller magazine, the K-10's compact nature made it a more specialized design than its predecessor.
Since release; the K-10 has been a favored choice by covert operations and undercover agents, while many assassins like the fairly muted nature of the gunfire, especially in situations where the shorter effective range is no detriment.
Design & Attributes[]
Even more compact than the comparable K-47s but with less outright penetration power or range, the K-10 pistol makes up for those "failings" with an even smaller size, and modified internal structures designed in part to muffle sound. While not as effective as a dedicated silencer, the K-10 is noted as being quieter than its fellow Hammerforge pistol. The small size also makes the pistol fairly easy to conceal, with many assassins and intelligence operatives swearing by the weapon as a "holdout pistol", or a weapon of last-resort.
The seven-shot total that the pistol is capable of carrying is hardly worth mentioning, but it is noted that these firearms are not intended to be main battlefield weapons but self-defense tools for covert ops, or sidearms for those that are assigned them.
