John Bend is a powered trooper working within the G.U.N. Sixth Naval Fleet; where he has been assigned for a number of years. While highly experienced with the same love of speed as many of his fellows; the elemental powers that got John the assured position within the Marine Divisions have proven to be less substantial than many first thought.

Standing taller than average with clearly toned muscles, John Bend fits the mold for powered troopers and Marines alike. While his quills are fairly simplistic in design and appearance, his fox-like ears are more pronounced than usual, lined from within with white fur. Primarily, his body is covered with a thin, well-kept layer of grey-blue fur, though the exposed skin is typically pale from his time spent in-armor. John also has emerald green eyes, with these proving to be a good indicator of what he's thinking about.
While off-duty, John dresses fairly simply and comfortably; taking advantage of the relaxed uniform orders upon powered troopers. This typically means that he gets around on base or aboard transports in a silver shirt and black pants for the most part, with a pair of simple black shoes and an ocean-blue baseball cap emblazoned with the emblem of the Sixth Naval Fleet added for taste and utility.
As an experienced powered trooper, John and the rest of his squad have been outfitted with Hammerforge Industries powered suits, with all members sporting Steel-type Battle Armor. As a Marine Powered Trooper, John's armor is bulkier than normal thanks to the presence of environmental shielding. Painted in the standard ocean camouflage of the Sixth Naval Fleet's Marine Troopers, complete with the blue visor covering his face, this suit has also been outfitted with a number of speed-focused augmentations to go with the reputation of his division. In water, alongside the rebreathers and environmental equipment, the suit has also been fitted with aquatic propulsion jets to ensure a high speed underwater. In a similar vein, John's armor possesses a Razor-type Armor Dash Unit for use on land, ensuring the high speed that his division adores.
As a powered trooper and marine trained by G.U.N who has been in the field for more than ten years; John is a highly accomplished amphibious fighter with training and experience in many facets of this role. As a member of the Sixth Naval Fleet's Marine detachment, John is fully accustomed to speed both above and below water; thanks to the enhancements mentioned in the brief about his armor. With both the Razor-type ADU and amphibious propulsion jets, John is capable of incredible speeds, even during the transition between ocean and land. These boosters also give him some level of ramming potential, though he never employs them for such a purpose.
Over his years with G.U.N; John has used a variety of submachine guns, assault rifles and carbines, but his preference has been towards the MR-32 Plasma Rifle. This weapon has proven to be surprisingly effective in the amphibious combat role; though actually employing the weapon underwater has proven risky due to the thermal feedback. Indeed, in any situation where John has any input on his mission loadout; his primary weapon is the MR-32.
Similarly, John is a fairly effective hand-to-hand combatant, especially combined with the enhanced physical strength granted by his armor. Outside of emergency situations, in fact; John prefers to utilize hand-to-hand combat techniques rather than his plasma carbine during underwater combat. Utilizing the thrusters within his suit also helps with this; as it grants him speed comparable to an amphibious or aquatic Mobian underwater as well as superior durability.
As a hydrokinetic, however, things are less pleasant. While John could technically be able to propel himself underwater using kinetic means rather than the thrust jets in his armored suit; he has proven singularly unable to. Indeed, his Water-aligned combat techniques are practically non-existent, with only a number of very basic non-combat techniques in his proper repertoire. The reasoning behind this is uncertain, and John himself has never truly shed light upon that. Instead, he just increases his focus on the areas that he does have skill in, and further neglects his elemental potential.
