J the Hedgehog is a yellow, anthropomorphic hedgehog from another universe, similar to Earth. While he is a hedgehog on the outside, he is a human on the inside. He is 18, which seemed unusual on how he was able to drive vehicles. He is currently a professional mechanic from Team Hornet, despite his retirement. In his hedgehog form, he weights similar to Sonic. In his human form, he is 5' 11 and is 128 lbs.
Prologue (aka Backstory)
Back in the day, he was a world-class mechanic for Team Hornet, best known for upgrading vehicles and repairing it. He is a fan of the Hornet race car (driven by Tom Brown) and he can easily inspect it, repair it, even upgrade it. However, one tragic day at the race of Joypolis 2020, the final lap and Tom Brown in 1st place, just when he is about to drift through the fianl corner for the finish line, one of the Hornet's rear tires explodes, causing the car to spin out wildly, then through a patch of a grassy field, which triggered a rollover, and then wrecking torwards the finish with Tom still inside at devastating speeds at 150 MPH. J could not believe his eyes. While Tom Brown won 1st place in Joypolis 2020, his victory was inevitable. Medics quickly rushed in and gets Tom Brown out of harm's way before the Hornet explodes (the Hornet caught on fire after the devastatng crash). Team Hornet rushed in to extinguish the fire of the now destroyed Hornet in a middle of a racetrack.
Tom Brown was critically injured, thus being forced to retire from racing with Team Hornet, and he spent months in the hospital. J rushed in torwards the destroyed Hornet and he was devastated and sad, seeing the legendary Hornet race car becoming a scrap heap. He walks into it closer and his tear drop drips onto the mangled Hornet, then he walks away, meaning that he cannot restore the Hornet race car in its wrecked state.
He now travels through Station Square by running 2000 MPH whilst going downhill. This teleports him from outside of a racetrack from Joypolis 2020 to Station Square in an instant. But to his dismay, the people of Station Square cheers and says that it's Super Sonic. J runs and finds a place to hide in Emerald Coast. He was very confused because he is not Super Sonic, since he is not in "super" form and that he is wearing a bandana. Not only his adventure begins, but he must also prevent detection by the people of Station Square before they mistake him again for Super Sonic. However, back in Tom Brown's world, right after the Hornet was transported to the junkyard, the Hornet race car suddenly comes back to life when it receives J's teardrop and starts repairing itself all of a sudden...
Personality
J is a heroic, kind, enthusiastic (although shy) hedgehog and not only enjoys adventures, but also enjoys the life as a mechanic. Like Sonic, he runs surprisingly fast. He is also the best mechanic ever since he joined Team Hornet. He is also a hero, which means whenever he hears someone in danger, he'll run faster than the speed of light and when an attack is seen by him, he can simply intercept it by kicking incoming objects out of the way and destroy enemies that are attacking innocent people. Unlike Sonic, he does'nt like chili dogs, but he eats sweets such as brownies, chocolate candy bars, candy bars, even sugar canes. While he is a mature guy, he is, in fact, shy of girls sometimes. He is the world's best mechanic, thanks to his contributions to Team Hornet, meaning that he can repair and upgrade vehicles he can find, not just drive around with them. Despite his mature age, he still has some child-like manner remains within his mind, and he would'nt want to sacrifice his childhood memories.
Skills
J is the fastest runner of the universe, alongside Sonic the Hedgehog and Kit the Cat. He outpaced the Hornet race car during a practice at the "Sega International Speedway", and he can even run through water. One of his two amazing abilities is known as Chaos Rift, which he clenches both Chaos Emeralds in his possession, allowing him to travel even faster without causing teleportation. The result is, however, while J runs through the streets, this releases a powerful sonic boom which causes windows to shatter and cars to set off alarms and people can get deaf for weeks. His new move, known as Spikedash which he spindashes while he can shoot off his quills torwards foes; it can also leave off sharp quills that will stick into his foes. Unlike Sonic (despite that Sonic is able to drive in Sonic Drift and the later Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing), he can commandeer any vehicles he finds and puts it in good use, whether cars, trucks or bikes (ecept planes, helicopters and boats) Here are all of his best known moves:

- Can drive any types of vehicles (excluding planes, helicopters and boats)
- Uses his remaining quills as a homing projectile or as a staff weapon

- Bandana protection (his bandana protects him from breathing through toxic fumes)
- Meteor Kick (by dropping to high places)
NOTE: While he is the fastest runner in the universe, he prefers driving vehicles than running.
Weaknesses
J is very vunerable to both extreme heat and extreme cold temperatures. J can suffer a severe hyperthermia by very hot temperatures, which means heat stroke could be present if he cannot get rehydrated. And he can get severe hypothermia if he cannot find warmth, during winter seasons that involves blizzards (snow is fine for him). He is very scared of the dark, which means if a sudden noise appears, not only will his quills fire out of control, he would scream like a little girl.
