Hybrid Parenting Expectations: Bird and Reptile Edition is a parenting guide book within the Doriteverse which was compiled by multiple authors with either professional knowledge of or experience in raising bird/reptile hybrids.

Description[]

This paperback book has a stylized silhouette of a bird parent and a lizard parent smiling at an egg on its cover with the title and subtitle at the top and the several authors listed at the bottom. The back is absolutely useless, consisting entirely of reviews.

The book's contents include different sections covering bird hybrids of each type of reptile as well as what to expect when one parent is a toothed bird. It also contains special diet and mouth care instructions for unwieldy hybrids, and symptoms of various common bird/reptile hybrid health issues. It has sections on flight therapy and how to determine if a hybrid baby's hands are functional enough to be used for grasping, as well as what to do in cases where hands and feet are both unable to grasp.

It also contains valuable information on tooth care in the presence of facial feathers for the two categories of reptile which have teeth, as well as general guidelines for preening with teeth. The sections for squamate-bird hybrids and crocodilian-bird hybrids are similar, but have have understandable differences.

Users[]

Within the Doriteverse, Doctor Robotnik owns a copy of this book. He relied on it it heavily for tooth care when raising Razor the Raptor, and he was quite thankful when he discovered that dinosaur teeth are basically just like crocodile teeth as this made it much easier.

Powers[]

As a book, the power of knowledge is contained within.

History[]

This book consists of several short guides written by about a dozen college professors who specialized in hybrid health. They were written over a period of 5 years, and the compilation was published alongside other hybrid guides with the consent of all involved.
