- ChaosControl VA is very protective of his characters (especially Spectrum here), so if you want to use any of them (in art, animations, etc.), he wants you to ask him for permission to do so first. He also does not want any attributes of these characters being changed (their races, sexualities, etc.) beyond his original storytelling intentions to suit your own needs (in art, animations, etc.); this will continue to remain the case, unless ChaosControl VA gives permission on some of your proposed changes first (approved changes that ChaosControl VA describes as essentially being fan fiction for you alone).
- Spectrum's creator, ChaosControl VA, had created a system to better categorize and designate different Sonic OC Universes, considering he's had Spectrum interacting with OCs outside of his Sonic AU, and considering he didn't want to mess up the canon or anyone else's AUs with his own. Spectrum's home universe is designated "Earth F1718-1."[11]
- Spectrum's name is a reference to his creator's real life disability (Autism).
- Spectrum's Hogferatu form and how it works was based on Dracula Untold.[12]
- ChaosControl VA wanted his Hogferatu form to inspire other Sonic fans into giving their Sonic OCs more specialized and creative Dark Gaia forms instead of just simply giving them a Werehog form, considering the latter action to be "lazy."[13]
- ChaosControl VA is considering allowing other people to use the Hogferatu Dark Gaia form for their OCs (as long as they ask for permission first, of course).[13]
- Spectrum's official voice actor is his own creator, ChaosControl VA.[14]
