Design & Construction

It would seem that the H-23 was designed for essentially no purpose, and that it was simply built for the sake of building. So far, seven demonstrators of the unique craft have come out of Tal'dari, where they seem to have been a major project. Unfortunately, the unique helicopters haven't yet been purchased by any government, most of whom citing uncertainty towards the irregular weaponry combination


A small, light helicopter built of non-magnetic polymers & alloys, the H-23 "Hawk" is regarded as being all speed and weaponry, and an irregular combination of guns at that. The primary firepower comes in the form of two plasma repeater cannons, weapons that are devastating against infantry, light armor, and energy-based shields, an adaption of plasma-based infantry weaponry. Backing these up is two heavy-duty magnetic pulse cannons. These unusual weapons fire a literal ball of magnetic energy, designed to magnetize heavy armor and cause environmental hazards to smash into the unit. These weapons are adapted from a massive cannon, normally fitted to starships, where the magnetic pulses were more effective at stripping shields and circuitry to disable and capture a ship. Within atmosphere, it is believed that these weapons would become extremely destructive.

The final weapon is another starship design, and rounds out the irregularity of the unit. Known as a phased particle beam cannon, the gun fires brilliant blue beams of particles, accelerated to a massive extent. On top of the acceleration, the beams have the irregular property of being able to puncture energy shields, bizarre for an energy weapon. This is only truly understood by weapon designers and physicists, but it is known that they work. However, due to the extremely high amount of energy required, the H-23 can't use any of it's other weapons at the same time, and only has enough energy for two shots before the weapon is forced to shut down, leaving the helicopter with enough energy for a handful of magnetic shots, and around five minutes worth of plasma fire. Likewise, the mag-pulse cannons have an extremely low rate of fire, while the plasma is prone to overheating if fired for a prolonged period of time. However, it is said that Anvil Corp. will only reveal their solutions to these issues if the units are purchased.


Stock Production Variants

  • H-23A - as described above
  • H-23B - no passenger support, fitted with an advanced generator to allow five shots with the particle cannon.
  • H-23C - no passenger support and no particle cannon, instead fitted with an electronic countermeasures and stealth suite plus advanced generator.
  • H-23D - Special Ops. version, designed without the phased particle cannon in order to extend the total passengers to four, a full commando squad.
