Appearance[]
A slightly chubby yellow flying squirrel, Groove keeps the fur on his head spiked and a crafty smile on his face, while his hazel eyes nearly permanently shine with a scheming light.
Attire[]
In his role as a crafty youth raised by his grandparents, Groove wears a gray hooded jacket filled with pockets, a black shirt, whitewashed black jeans and black & gray trainers.
History[]
Early life[]
Groove's extremely early years, up until the age of four, is a blur - not much is known. What is known is that at that age, he was adopted by his grandparents and was given a stable home environment. However, it was clear from his sixth birthday that he was a troublemaker. Constant reports for pickpocketing. Noticeable bruises from being beaten up. Stolen goods in his bedroom. Ray was concerned, but felt nothing could be done about his grandson's actions, instead just returning as much as he could.
Heartless Saga[]
During the Heartless Saga, Groove went off-the-radar, to Ray's concern. Indeed, a lot of people were concerned that he had been either possessed or killed. They shouldn't have worried. Half-way through the Heartless War, Groove, a ten-year-old, was found...running the black market in Mercia and supporting resistance groups with it. A skilled thief, Groove had found a niche breaking into old storehouses full of weapons and "liberating" them for his allies. While dangerous, most other children fought on the front lines, so once Ray found out, he agreed to let his grandson continue in his role. It is believed that after the timeline was altered, this version of Groove continues to make a profit on "liberating" weapons.
Post-Heartless Saga[]
After the Heartless Saga, Groove met Greg the Hedgidna and Hardrock the Echidna, two of the other students at the school. Greg was popular, both due to the fame of his family and his skill at basketball and track. Hardrock was less-so, regarded by most as a thug. The duo had been friends for years, and each possessed a very similar genetic ability. By contrast, Groove simply dropped into their group, after the duo came to his rescue from a number of older students. Granted, when he revealed why they had attacked him, the stolen photo of one of the group's girlfriend, Hardrock beat him, but Greg had found him an asset and a good laugh. Indeed, aside for his near-kleptomania and his obsession for girls, Groove was a funny kid, skilled at making people laugh, normally at someone else's expense, but at least some of the time, at him.
Groove became notorious for his skill at acquiring almost anything in a short amount of time, no matter what. This ranged from rare alcoholic beverages to weapons to lost family heirlooms. This was revealed to be due to his old black market connections, although the really simple stuff he 'acquired' himself. In that time, he found himself with a crush on Ellie the Hedgidna, Greg's older sister, although she turned a blind eye to him, finding the young flying squirrel annoying. He was also completely ignorant of Olive the Fox, a girl in his class who had a crush on him, despite recurring dreams of being married to a fox in the future. However, at one stage, to his surprise he found himself dating Crissy the Wolf, the head cheerleader, after she asked him to find her older sister's teddy bear, which contained a few thousand dollars. The relationship didn't last that long, with Crissy dumping him within a month for one of the footballers.
Abilities[]
Groove, despite his mother and her family being unknown, inherited from her the genetic ability Boundary Aura. When pushed past a specific level of adrenaline, Groove generates an aura around himself to set up a boundary, before instantly unlocking his 'full potential' - a powerful transformation building on his elemental powers. In the area marked by the aura, Groove has near-infinite power due to the aura's restrictive effect on others, while his own skyrockets. Through ranged combat, he can fight from within targets outside his reach, although doing so is both more tiring for him, and more likely to result in a draw. However, if he exits the aura or uses it for fifteen minutes, he passes out and instantly drops out of the transformation.
Unlike his friends, Groove has access to only two elements - Earth and Fire. These skills are of uncertain history, but give him a lot more firepower to work with.
Despite being an experienced hand-to-hand combatant, Groove is nowhere near as strong as his friends. However, his experience with his lighter impacts is a bonus, especially when coupled with his ability to fly and his natural agility.
Away from combat, Groove is a skilled bassist, trained dancer, and expert board-rider, with skill on skateboards, snowboards and surfboards alike. He is also an expert thief, which is a trait that gets him into as much trouble as it doesn't.
However, despite all his skills, Groove can be outsmarted by talented tacticians, and at the same time overpowered in close-range combat by stronger fighters, although anyone who faces him in close range has to beware his boundary aura.

Personality[]
Groove is a chronic joker and thief, always either pulling a practical joke, stealing something, or telling a stupid joke. One of his favourite targets, despite being also one of the most volatile, is Hardrock, mostly due to the reactions the echidna has to the pranks. In addition, he takes every chance he gets to get out on one of his three kinds of board, be it skate, surf or snow.
Groove is a known pervert, and has on at least one occasion been caught inside the girls change rooms peeking on Greg's older sister, and has also been the recipient of some dirty rumours from his ex-girlfriend, who likes to hint to her friends what he's like in the bedroom. However, despite his perverted, laid-back nature, Groove is also highly protective of girls, always going out of his way to protect them, even when they could beat him with ease, such as Ellie.
