Taunting Max, On the Run(dream sequence)

Dr. Starline is a character from the IDW Sonic the Hedgehog comics, who appears The Legend of Fox the Brave. He is a Mobian platypus obsessed with Eggman, to the point that he wants to restore him to the head of the Eggman Empire(which he eventually succeeds in)

Appearance[]

Starline retains his appearance from the IDW Sonic the Hedgehog comics.

Personality[]

As portrayed in the IDW Sonic the Hedgehog comics, Starline is a very intelligent, well-spoken, and formal, but with a darker side to him. Fascinated by what he sees as "special" individuals, he is deeply interested in studying them, to the point he will painfully force what he wants out of them

A sinister and cruel man, Dr. Starline had no qualms about putting Mr. Tinker through an evidently painful procedure, or pressing Fox into revealing his own personal secrets to his friend. After Dr. Eggman was restored, Starline was more than eager to follow his orders loyally; Though before long, he began to question his straightforward, almost rushed thinking process

After being rejected by Dr. Eggman, Starline was pushed to the point of madness. Though he maintained his formal demeanor for the most part, he became prone to angry rants similar to his idol's rages

Noted to have liked hearing himself talk, he kept video logs of his updates, unknowingly to his own detriment. This also points towards his arrogance. Viewing himself as superior, he openly disdains those he views as less than him, and is caught by surprise by the ingenuity of his enemies

History[]

Before the Series: For an unknown amount of time, Dr. Starline lurked in the depths of the Final Egg base, which had been inactive since the Perfect Chaos incident. It got to the point that the locals of the nearby Mystic Ruins forest believed he was a ghost. Starline used this rumor to hide himself away from their attention, and quietly observe them, especially after the warriors visited the forest a few times

Dawn of the Alliance[]

Rise of a Leader[]

After meeting them, Fox and Austin hear from Silver and Michael as having met the strange man inside. Michael uncomfortably notes his behavioral similarities to Dr. Finitevus, whom both the Smith brothers know

Later, when Fox and Austin head into the base, Starline meets the pair. He takes them to a table with some hot drinks, implying he had prepared for guests before their visit

He notes that he recognizes Fox from Eggman's files, and subtly pressures the young fox into revealing this secret to Austin(as Fox had previously only said that he had wound up with some bad people). This puts strain on their friendship, and when Starline tries to "comfort" him, Fox snarls at him before leaving the base

Skills[]

Starline is an incredibly intelligent individual. While not on the same level as someone like Dimitri or Dr. Eggman himself, he is still intelligent enough to design his own equipment in the form of the hypno-glove on his left hand, and the Multi-Tool Heel Spurs on his boots

While he is not as durable as a superpowered Mobian like Sonic or Knuckles, he is athletic enough to deliver strong kicks to his opponents, and swiftly avoid his enemies

Weaknesses[]

As previously mention, Starline is not as durable as someone like Sonic or Knuckles. He lacks any powers of his own, and has to borrow them from the Tri-Core he later creates. Later, as shown in the Fallen Worlds, Starline's obsession with overtaking Dr. Eggman and proving himself superior gave him logic tunnel-vision, leading to a borderline obsession that ruined the lives of several people that got in his way

It was this obsession that would later result in his demise

Trivia[]

Starline plays a larger and slightly deviated role in the alternate timeline seen in the Fallen Worlds

  • Here, while he is still loyal and fanatically devoted to Dr. Eggman, he ends up leaving the other doctor after the Iron Dominion takeover, and remains hidden. After learning of Austin being the target of Dr. Finitevus, became determined to get to the bottom of it
