Espio the Chameleon is a recurring character from the animated series, Sonic Adventures. He is an anthropomorphic Purple Chameleon who works for Vector at the Krusty Vector and is good friends with Knuckles.

Appearance

Due to the series being a modern culture reboot of the original video game series, each character had to had a design that either matches their identity or references. Espio has on a purple ninja suit to represent him being a ninja.

History

When Espio first lived in Hollywood, he was really into Ninja Movies and has learned so many Ninja techniques from them too. When he left with Team Chaotix to the United Kingdom, he was one of Vector's employees at the Krusty Vector, but his Ninja techniques still live inside him in case there's any emergencies.

Personality

A straight-laced detective, Espio is serious, practical, intelligent and wise. He has a militaristic discipline despite being quiet and laid-back. Espio is additionally portrayed as being stubborn, opinionated and self-obsessed. Despite this, he has an excellent drive to all that he does and flourishes off of peril, getting himself into threatening situations to flex and polish his ninja skills, and, due to his extensive training, he can confront these troubles head-on unconcerned by danger. He is good friends with Knuckles, he doesn't mind Sonic, he can also be good of medical stuff and he can easily get bad tempered with Shadow.

  • In Most Episodes, Espio parodies characters such as Squidward Tentcles from SpongeBob SquarePants.
