History[]
The first Energy Form in history was achieved by Surge, through use of the Dynamo Cage and Whisper's wisps. Very few people count this as the first however, since the Dynamo Cage is it's own thing, and granted Surge the form through misuse of it's energy appropriating properties. The first true Energy Form is generally said to be a kid who lived in Wisp City, who had seen Surge using the Dynamo Cage on a news recording and attempted to replicate the powers with help from some Wisps, succeeding after some trial and error.
As soon as the process of achieving Energy forms was properly understood, many people with Wisp friends, both civilians and trained fighters, began using the form as a easier to manage way of using Wisp powers to fight Badniks, with Team Dragoon as some of the most famous users, having achieved a Energy form using all the kinds of Wisps they knew of, a Omni Energy form as it became called.
Achieving the form[]
To achieve a Energy form, you need to have one or more Wisps allow you to use their powers any way you see fit, rather than just giving you some of their energy. This of course requires a deeper bond than normal Wisp transformations. There are however ways to bypass the requirement of trust, such as the Dynamo Cage.
Abilities[]
Each Energy mode is different in the abilities granted, with Laser granting you command over laser-based powers, Rocket granting command over rocket-based powers, Void granting command over void-based powers, and so on. All Energy forms allow you to use their powers in the same way, however, with users being able to shoot Wisp-appropriate projectiles, as well as use parts of the Wisp transformations properties, such as enhanced speed with Laser, hovering around with Hover, and electrifying yourself with Lightning. Multiple Wisps can be used in one form at the same time as well, with White Wisps keeping the form going.
Weaknesses[]
Energy Forms, while powerful, are generally weaker than Wisp transformations. As well, they last about as long as the average Wisp power, meaning you've only got a few seconds to work with. Transforming with a Wisp will also cancel any Energy form while leaving the used Wisps tired out like they were used for the full duration, meaning the two powers cannot be combined.
