Dr. James is an elderly, brilliant, and eccentric scientist. He is the true founder of James Corporation, the father of Maria the Hedgehog and her older sister Tammy James, the husband of Mrs. James, the father-in-law of Shadow the Hedgehog, the adoptive maternal grandfather of Silver the Hedgehog, and the maternal grandfather of Brianna James. He is voiced by Dan Castellaneta in the American English version, who also voiced Phillip "Grandpa" Shortman in Hey Arnold!, Homer Simpsons and Abraham Simpson in The Simpsons, and Katsuhisa Hoki in the original Japanese dub.
