This page covers the three unlockable characters in the roster of Clash of Mythics: Genesis - Burst, Super Sonic, and Super Shadow.
- Playstyle: Offensive Rushdown
- Voiced by: Kate Higgins
The primary antagonist of the game, the young woman known only as “Burst” was the result of yet another experiment involving genetic modification conducted by the scientists from the Genesis Corporation. Fearing for her life, Burst broke out of the facility she was being kept in and has been on the run ever since, leaving behind traces of destruction everywhere she goes - some less subtle than others.
Burst is a mobile fighter that is at her most dangerous when up close and personal. She likes to maintain an offensive position when she gets going before finishing it off with one of her super moves to dish out massive damage via her unique Riot Gauge, which dictates just how potent her attacks are, and is built up by maintaining the offensive but gradually decreases while on neutral or on the defensive. Her Style Action, Riot Claw, has her briefly conjure a large, spectral hand and either toss her opponent onto the ground or pull them back in, both of which generally allow for combo extensions.
Unlocking her for regular play in-game is a simple process - that is, simply clear her Story Route in the game's Story Mode.
— Super Sonic
- Playstyle: Rushdown, Mix-Up, Power Up
- Voiced by: Roger Craig Smith
Sonic's iconic golden-furred, Chaos-empowered super transformation makes an appearance as one of the game's bonus characters.
In battle, Super Sonic sports just as much mobility as his base counterpart, but is far more powerful and more durable. In addition, unlike his base counterpart's reliance on wearing down the opponent with his agile and swift movements, Super Sonic is a more straight-forward rushdown character but with plenty of tools to open up the opponent, including teleports, overheads, lows, etc., but still has very weak zoning game in exchange. His Style Action, Limit Charge, allows him to charge up to three stocks of energy at maximum that are then consumed after every use of a special move.
To unlock Super Sonic, the player must complete certain requirements throughout Arcade Mode and then beat him in a match. The requirements in question are:
- Clear Arcade Mode in Medium difficulty or higher.
- No rounds lost or continues used
- Get at least seven Perfects
- Defeat the seventh opponent normally or with a Decisive Action
- Defeat the boss with a Decisive Action or Decisive Climax
— Super Shadow
- Playstyle: Rushdown, Power, Power Up
- Voiced by: Kirk Thornton
As one of the bonus characters of the game, the Ultimate Life Form, an already-powerful being, becomes even more powerful with the seven Chaos Emeralds at his disposal.
Whereas his base counterpart was a well-rounded fighter with an emphasis on rushdown, Super Shadow instead is purely all about rushing the opponent down with lightning-fast and incredibly powerful attacks with high damage and no hesitation. Meanwhile, this incredible specialization on rushdown means that Super Shadow is even weaker than Super Sonic in the range department, with his primary projectile having some start-up and, therefore, being rather telegraphed. His Style Action, Limit Charge, works exactly same as Super Sonic's.
Similar to Super Sonic, unlocking Super Shadow for regular play requires meeting a certain set of requirements throughout Arcade Mode, with those requirements being the following:
- Clear Arcade Mode on Medium difficulty or higher
- No rounds lost or continues used
- Defeat at least five opponents with a Decisive Action or Decisive Climax
- Defeat seventh opponent with a Decisive Climax
- Defeat the boss with a Shutdown
