This sub-page covers the backgrounds and command lists of four of the playable characters in the complete roster of Clash of Mythics: Genesis - those being Zagan the Gravebringer, Raiden, Streak, and Whirlwind Reyes.
— Zagan the Gravebringer
- Playstyle: Offensive
- Voiced by: Patrick Seitz
The main protagonist of the series and a tough mercenary. While he appears to be an ordinary Mobian like everyone else at first glance, Zagan is anything but. In reality, he is a Mythic - specifically, a Vampyrus, a species of Mythic with the common abilities of actual vampires of folklore legend - such a supernatural physical condition and the ability to absorb the souls of his victims, among others - and only some of their supposed weaknesses, in addition to their power to generate and control fire, hence the name.
Zagan hears about the Genesis Corporation’s announcement regarding the bounty on a woman named “Burst” - the primary test subject of their latest project, who recently escaped from one of their facilities. With not much else to do, and in need of some cash to pay the bills, Zagan decides to have a go at hunting down his new target.
In battle, while he has all the basic tools needed for a fight and can play a solid neutral game when necessary, Zagan is primarily an offense-oriented fighter that can deal heavy damage with his attacks and stay on the offensive with solid mobility. However, he suffers from poor overall defenses and can be taken down without much of an issue if he gets careless. This is slightly mitigated with his Style Action, Reaper’s Edge, which absorbs a tiny portion of his opponent’s health and restores his own vitality by that amount.
- Playstyle: Balanced
- Voiced by: Yuri Lowenthal
A skilled swordsman with the ability to generate lightning at will, Raiden hears word of the recent activities regarding a woman named “Burst” while wandering around. Fearing the worst may happen if something isn't done, he decides to hunt her down himself. Little did he know that he would soon have the chance to encounter a certain man he has been hunting down for some time...
Raiden is a generally well-rounded character with all of the basic tools at his disposal, meaning he is able to handle most situations that occur in a fight and is a good pick for beginners. While this lack of notable weaknesses is helpful, this also means that Raiden is not strong in one particular field. His Style Action, Flash Cutter, is a delayable projectile attack that fires a vortex of electric slashes that can pin the opponent in place should it land.
- Playstyle: Zoning
- Voiced by: Stephanie Sheh
An operative from the Genesis Corporation itself, Streak was sent by her superiors to apprehend and capture Burst herself in the event that no one else is capable of doing the job. However, though putting a stop to Burst's trail of destruction is beneficial for all, her presence may only serve to make the corporation and its true intentions all the more suspicious...
Streak is a zoning-oriented character, meaning she is at her best when she is at a distance. With a notable shortage of close-ranged moves, this means she does not want the opponent knocking in front of her door lest she find herself utterly wrecked by the opposition. Her Style Action, Hollow Claw, produces a tendril of darkness that attacks the opponent from a distance, making it her primary zoning tool.
— Whirlwind Reyes
- Playstyle: Rushdown
- Voiced by: "Yours truly!" - Crimson
A powerful fighter and a well-respected soldier in GUN, Whirlwind is sent on a mission regarding the recent destructive events caused by “Burst” by GUN Commander Abraham Tower himself. Alongside him are fellow GUN soldier and the Ultimate Life Form, Shadow, and one of his subordinates, Kris. The three of them must figure out the ultimate goal behind the Genesis Corporation's activities.
Whirlwind might appear to be well-rounded, but he is actually more suited to playing a rushdown-centric game due to his relative lack of range, with his primary projectile having range only when charged. Thankfully, in exchange for this, he has the high damage output that complements such a playstyle and is also quite a tough nut to take down. His Style Action, Storm Rocket, is a chargeable attack that deals varying amounts of damage depending on how long it is charged. However, maximizing the amount of damage will require precise timing and accuracy.
