Chronicles of Mobius is the surtitle of a fangame series that's currently in the early planning stages. The debut effort of Project Redux, CoM is planned to be a fully 3D series utilizing the Infinity+ framework, which runs over the Unreal Engine. The Chronicles of Mobius series will act as a separate Alternate Universe retelling of the Sonic the Hedgehog series, taking elements and inspiration from several of the series' various canons and continuities, including concept art and cancelled titles.

The main character will continue to be Sonic himself, however the supporting cast will also have their moments to shine as playable characters. Character development will be a prominent element of the series, as will continuity and consistency. The tone will be very much in the vein of Adventure 1 & 2 and the IDW comics.

Setting[]

The series is set in the Mobius Prime star system, originally charted and colonized by the Terran Federation during their exploration of the Mobius Strip Nebula. The system contains 6 planets, two of which are habitable: the second planet in the system -designated Gaia by the Terran Federation- is the center of Human colonization in the sector, and the third -designated Mobius Major- which was the site of the system's primary research complex prior to the events which led to the accidental creation of the Mobian race. Gaia has a single moon, while Mobius Major has two moons and three trojan asteroids. The innermost of Mobius Major's moons is the subject of much study due to it existing within the planet's atmosphere in a state of extreme temporal flux; officially known as Mobius Minor in Human records, the odd moon is known as the "Little Planet" to the Mobians.

The Mobius Prime System was of particular note to Terran scientists because of the abundance of Chaos Emeralds it contained; typically Chaos Emeralds exist in groups of five-to-six within a star system, Mobius Prime has seven on each habitable planet for a total of fourteen. That number does not include the first-ever-documented, but long rumored among the galactic community Master Emerald discovered on Mobius Major, nor the related but distinct Time Stones discovered on Mobius Minor.

Last Echidna, not only of Clan Athair but altogether, until the return of Tikal and the discovery of the long-exiled Nocturnus Clan in another dimension.

Initially a lovestruck fangirl of Sonic's, after being let down as gently as possible she became something of a surrogate sister to him.

E-102 Gamma (Voice actor TBD)

The 2nd production model of the E-100 series, 3rd model overall.
First of Robotnik's creations to actively rebel against his control.

Tikal the Echidna (Voice actor TBD)

Ancient Echidna Princess of Clan Athair.
Sealed herself in the Master Emerald to stop Chaos from destroying the world.
Not related closely enough to Knuckles for there to be an issue (being from 3000 years ago and not-yet-having any children of her own when she was sealed).

Cream the Rabbit (Voice actor TBD)

Politest 6-year-old on the planet.

Emerl/Gmerl (Voice actor TBD)

Ancient robots built by the Nocturnus Clan.

Blaze the Cat (Voice actor TBD)

Stoic princess from another dimension.
Guardian of the Sol Emeralds.
Powerful pyrokinetic badass.

Exuberant child castaway.
Instinctive knack for MacGyvering useful tools/machines from scraps.

Naive-but-well-meaning psychokinetic from an alternate future.

Shadow the Hedgehog (Voice actor TBD)

The Ultimate Lifeform created by Prof. Gerald Robotnik in a quest to cure all disease.
Half-Xorda carrier of the Xorda Plague, and initially classified as a bioweapon by GUN.
Spent 50 years in stasis locked in a GUN facility.
Not exactly a "people person" and doesn't have many friends, but is fiercely loyal to the few friends he has.
After finalizing Prof. Gerald's vaccine/cure for the Xorda plague, he spent some time treasure hunting with Rouge.
Later joined GUN full time with his best (and at the time only) friend.

Rouge the Bat (Voice actor TBD)

Treasure hunter extraordinaire.
She was a jewel thief who occasionally moonlit as a GUN agent when she needed a pardon, but later joined GUN full-time.

E-123 Omega (Voice actor TBD)

The final and (self-proclaimed) ultimate model of the E-100 line, and the second to achieve full sapience and turn on his creator.
Accidentally reactivated by Nack and Bark while they were looking for stuff to steal from one of Robotnik's abandoned bases.
Initially hostile to Shadow and Rouge thinking they worked for Robotnik, he later joined them in their travels and was the first of the group to actively join GUN.
Started calling Robotnik "Eggman" after hearing it from Rouge & Shadow.

Bean the Dynamite (Voice actor TBD)

Joins Team Dark after turning informant on Nack & Bark, leading to their arrest.

Leader of the Chaotix.
Almost as fast as Sonic.
As strong as he is fast.

Mighty's best friend.
Comes across like the lovable mascot, but also actually knows things.

Former Angel Island ground fighting champion.

Dr. Julian Ivo Robotnik (Voice actor TBD)

A genius-level inventor, his initial motivation was just to build an edutainment theme park he called "Eggman Land".
He attempted to build it in a region of protected archeological ruins on South Island, only to have his construction thwarted by a certain blue hedgehog.
His vendetta against Sonic (and by extension his friends as well) has driven him to full-blown megalomania; his theme park is now a distant second to getting his revenge on Sonic & Friends and conquering (or failing that, destroying) the planet.

Metal Sonic (Voice actor TBD)

A robotic doppelganger of the Blue Blur built by Dr. Robotnik for the sole purpose of killing Sonic.

E-122 Psi (Voice actor TBD)

Considered by Robotnik to be the pinnacle of the E-100 line (much to Omega's frustration).

King Peregrine VIII (Voice actor TBD)

Latest in a long line of bandit kings-in-exile of the long-lost Kingdom of Babylon.
He takes his lineage and family oath to find and restore Babylon seriously, but is easily side-tracked by the allure of treasure.

King Peregrine's eldest son.
Even more avaricious than his father.

Daughter of a noble house of Babylon.
One of Jet's oldest and closest friends.

A cancer upon the Galaxy, a living sapient plague bent on absorbing all life.
Their blood infects other lifeforms and transforms into Xorda, a form of biological assimilation.

A secret society that maintain the hidden knowledge of the last descendants of the Echidna civilization's Clan Athair and act as intermediaries between them and the rest of Angel Island.
They also hold the only complete records of the Island's history after it began floating above the surface of the planet.

He's a hardass, but he'll stop at nothing to safeguard the inhabitants of the planet, Mobian and Human alike.
Holds Shadow's creation (and by extension Shadow himself) responsible for the ARK Incident 50 years ago.
Witnessed the ARK Incident in person as a child; is one of the very few survivors of the Incident.

Not the best President the Federation has ever seen, but not the worst either.
Was elected on a platform that emphasized closer ties with the Mobians.

[Surname is a reference to Marie Fredriksson, the co-vocalist from the band Roxette.]
