Chronicles Commented By Cosmo is a fanfiction written by INFERNOX, and goes alongside the Sonic Chronicles series and

Heroes From An Old World. Although describing Cosmo's story after her death at the end of Sonic X Season 3, it also shows several other storylines as well.

CCBC commonly peeks in one the other storylines to check on their inhabitants, and it also holds several characters mentioned only in HFAOW via inner thoughts or flashbacks. CCBC is also unique to the fact that is contains explained plot elements and hidden motives that no one else knows about yet in both other fanfictions.

Story

Chapter One: Judgement

Cosmo is first seen floating through a dark abyss, before her mother Hertia's voice guides her to the next world of light. Hertia explains to Cosmo about the next world a bit, as well as the judgement, which is the trial all life goes through at the end of their mortal existance. Cosmo is also reunited with her sister Galaxina, her brother Landor, and her brother's wife Violet. She is also (to her chagrin) in the same presence as the five Metarex, but the arrival of the judge (DiZ from the Kingdom Hearts series) appears. Cosmo explains how she died, also showing a bit of embarassament over Tails as she mentions him. DiZ deems her fit to live in the realm of light, and she leaves the courtroom with her mother, sister, and brother, happy.

Chapter Two: Surprise

Galaxina and Hertia have a discussion with each other about Cosmo and her current attitude while also having small and painful reminders of their past relationships (Hertia with Dark Oak, and Galaxina with Red Pine). While discussing, they talk between each other about "a man in black" who seems to have some connection to Cosmo. Cosmo runs up to them, happy, but soon asks if the Metarex have received their Judgement yet. Hertia says they have not, but Landor soon changes the subject by introducing his wife Violet, and then by also showing his little sister Cosmo how to watch over the people on any planet below. Cosmo decides to see Tails again, and she watches him water her seedling she left behind at the end of Sonic X. Amy soon runs up to Tails, informing him that Sonic was missing (therefore leading to their first appearance in Sonic Chronicles: Wrenched Into Oblivion). A Hero Chao (presumably a messenger) arrives and informs Hertia that she is requested at the courtroom. Hertia dismisses herself from Cosmo, Galaxina, Landor, and Violet and goes off to the courtroom.

Once there, DiZ--as well as the god Polokus--reveal the enigmatic Nebula The Seedrian to Hertia and the Metarex by showing them both her appearance on Aleannas (which is during the events of Heroes From An Old World's first chapter). Polokus reveals that Red Pine had something to do with this, although Red Pine cannot remember who Nebula was truly. Polokus mentions the magical powers of a certain "man in black," to which DiZ expresses silent anger. Polokus tells DiZ that it is not Organization XIII just as Scott's parents (Mr. and Mrs. McCarthy), Warp's parents (Mary Rose and Derok), and Warp's older brother Jack appear to see their family on the real world by looking down upon them.

The chapter ends with Cosmo watching over Tails again, and with Violet telling Cosmo that she could visit Tails in his dreams if Tails fell asleep while she was still awake. Cosmo keeps this fact in mind, but--concerned about Sonic's whereabouts--looks for him from the heavens above. She soon finds him and Sora captured inside Dr. Eggman's base, where they both make brief introductions to each other before Sora uses his Keyblade to unlock the cell door. Sora and Sonic dash off, presumably leading to their first appearances in Sonic Chronicles: Wrenched Into Oblivion.

Chapter Three: Doom

While Cosmo is asleep, Galaxina thinks back a bit more on her relationship with Red Pine (which she deeply regrets), before Cosmo wakes up. Cosmo asks Galaxina if spirits can have dreams, as she tells her she had a strange vision of her body inside a plant pot at an unfamiliar place.

Soon after, the group is called to the courtroom to witness the Metarex's judgement, where they meet by Hertia and stay by her side. DiZ begins the trial, and Dark Oak begins to retell his entire story as one of the Metarex, leaving out little details of his torment he caused across the galaxy. Dark Oak not only tells the truth, but also wants to pay for it in the spirit world to make up for his deeds, to which DiZ doesn't believe him. Dark Oak denies this, and none of the Metarex interject. DiZ is about to sentence them to the dark realm whenever a Dark Chao flies in an screams that Scaith had been re-released.

Everyone in the courtroom goes into some form of panic, until Arceus appears. Arceus summons a large ethereal orb to see where Scaith is at, and Mr. and Mrs. McCarthy, Mary Rose, Derok, and Jack all witness Scaith's attempt to murder Warp and Scott, while Nebula is in the background, scared. The parents and older brother try to tell their family members who are still alive to escape, but it is to no avail. Arceus explains what he means by the Sigils to the group--as well as the mystery of the Chosen--but this is only brief, as Nebula soon transforms into Super Nebula (or, by HFAOW Chapter 19, Flare Form Nebula) to defeat Scaith, which she does.

Arceus dismisses the orb and deducts that Neubla may be a Chosen, and--before disappearing--Arceus explains the mysterious absence of the God King Oltanis, as well as another god named Tabuu. Cosmo decides to check on Tails again, and she finds him during his unconscious bout after the tidal wave hit his home in Sonic Chronicles: Wrenched Into Oblivion. While this happened, DiZ sees a member of Organization XIII inside Tails's home, which makes DiZ angry and Cosmo scared and confused.

• CCBC was inspired by TailsLovesCosmo's fanfiction "After The Metarex: Cosmo's Story." Several plot elements from that fanfic are also introduced in this fic as well, from the courthouse involving where the recently deceased spirits are placed to Galaxina and Red Pine's fanon relationship.
• CCBC explained several unmentioned plot points in both other fanfictions.
  • An example is that, on the Sonic Chronicles side, Cosmo witnesses how Sora and Sonic escape their prison cell in Dr. Eggman's base.
  • Another example is that in Heroes From An Old World, Red Pine and Polokus also converse about Nebula's strange appearance on Aleannas, as well as DiZ confronting Dark Oak about a figure named "X."
• Chapter Two's title, "Surprise," is misspelled as "Suprise" in the actual fanfiction.
• CCBC's chapters are only one-word chapter titles with the word relating to the intended overall feelings or situation pertaining to the chapter.
• Several god-like beings from other video game franchises exist in the reality of the spirit world in CCBC. This includes the god Polokus from Rayman 2: Revolution, the god Arceus from Pokemon: Platinum, and even Tabuu from Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
  • How Tabuu is still alive after the events of Super Smash Bros. Brawl is unknown, but it is possibly because he is a god or one of the other gods revived him. However, since Tabuu has yet to make an in-story appearance or another mention by another main character, this is still unknown and disputed.
