A rather rare and unusual offshoot of the Mobian race noted for extremely diverse levels of gene combinations, Chimerians are, as their name implies, essentially chimeras, but not in the mythical sense. They are sometimes referred to as "super-hybrid Mobians" or just "super-hybrids".

Physical Description[]

The only noteworthy similarity that all Chimerians share with each other is their Mobianoid shape; like the typical Mobian, Chimerians are usually between three to four feet tall, with some capable of heights upwards to six feet or even more. The similarities sharply end there; Chimerians can bear a staggering range of physical features based on what animal genes they possess, and are not bound to being within the same class either; for one tiny example, Chimerians can possess both mammalian and reptilian genes, avian, piscine, and amphibian genes, and countless more combinations.

Because of this extreme genetic diversity, for ease of categorization, Chimerians are divided into eight sub-classes depending on what class of animal genes comprise the majority (at least 70%) of their gene pool;

  1. Mammal-type Chimerians - Chimerians whose DNA is comprised of primarily mammalian genes.
  2. Reptile-type Chimerians - Chimerians whose DNA is comprised of primarily reptilian genes.
  3. Amphibian-type Chimerians - Chimerians whose DNA is comprised of primarily amphibian genes.
  4. Avian-type Chimerians - Chimerians whose DNA is comprised of primarily avian genes.
  5. Insect-type Chimerians - Chimerians whose DNA is comprised of primarily insectoid and chelicerate genes.
  6. Piscine-type Chimerians - Chimerians whose DNA is comprised of primarily piscine (bony fish, cartilaginous fish, and related) genes.
  7. Mollusk-type Chimerians - Chimerians whose DNA is comprised of primarily mollusk (gastropods, cephalopods, and related) genes.
  8. Crustacean-type Chimerians - Chimerians whose DNA is comprised of primarily crustacean genes.

Culture[]

Chimerian culture is very similar to Mobian culture overall, since the two races are still similar enough to coexist alongside each other, unlike with the Merbian race, who keep to themselves within their oceanic kingdoms. However, Mobian opinions on the Chimerian race are... decidedly mixed. Some Mobians are ambivalent to the existence of their unusually diverse cousins. Some see them as genetic marvels, worthy of extensive study... and still others see them as freaks of nature.

Known Chimerians[]

  • Marbas Dimitrio - A Mammal-type Chimerian who possesses lion, gray wolf, elk, harpy eagle, and snow leopard genes. Owned by Ryushusupercat (Talk).
  • Vorvadoss Stonecutter - A Reptile-type Chimerian who possesses frill-neck lizard, Jackson's chameleon, red-eyed crocodile skink, Nile monitor, and Texas horned lizard genes. Owned by Ryushusupercat (Talk).
  • Iulian Sala - A Mammal-type Chimerian who possesses fennec fox, caracal, addax, chinchilla, fruit bat, and spectacled cobra genes. Owned by Ryushusupercat (Talk).
