Carey's Necklace (キャリーのネックレス Kyarī no nekkuresu?) is an object in ChaosControl VA's Sonic AU.[1] It is a necklace that was made from the material of Merlina The Wizard's Staff, which can allow her descendants to tap into their magical abilities from within their genetics (which have been diminished over the generations), with its current owner now being Carey The Chausie Cat.

Carey's Necklace is mostly comprised of a blue bead, which was originally a part of the crystal on Merlina The Wizard's Staff before it was chipped off to make this accessory. At the top of the bead, a long black string connects to it in a loop, allowing a user to wear the necklace.
Powers and Traits[]
The Necklace allows Carey, along with those related to her by blood, to tap into her ancestral magical powers, which have diminished in her bloodline over the generations, upon wearing it around her neck; the necklace cannot give anyone outside of Carey's family the ability to use magic, as only those in Carey's family have the proper genes to react to the bead's energy. The Necklace does not limit its user on what magical abilities they can gain, as it gives its user access to all of its magic, nor does it give them an immediate mastery over those said abilities; the user is the one that has to discover and learn how to use those powers on their own.

Trivia[]
- ChaosControl VA is very protective of his characters (especially with all of his original characters seen here), so if you want to use any of them (in art, animations, etc.), he wants you to ask him for permission to do so first. He also does not want any attributes of these characters being changed (their races, sexualities, etc.) beyond his original storytelling intentions to suit your own needs (in art, animations, etc.); this will continue to remain the case, unless ChaosControl VA gives permission on some of your proposed changes first (approved changes that ChaosControl VA describes as essentially being fan fiction for you alone).
- Carey's Necklace's (real-life) creator, ChaosControl VA, had created a system to better categorize and designate different Sonic OC Universes, considering he's had Spectrum interacting with OCs outside of his Sonic AU, and considering he didn't want to mess up the canon or anyone else's AUs with his own. Carey's Necklace's home universe is designated "Earth F1718-1."[2]
